5 stars isn't enough. I grew up in Orange. When I was young I remember wanting to make beaded bracelets. My mom took me to Beads Beads and I remember wanting a specific style of beads, and had no problem finding them. Fast forward 30 years, and I started getting back into making beaded bracelets. Having moved to Kentucky a few years ago, we have no real bead shops, just Michael's and Hobby Lobby. But a couple of weeks ago I was visiting my sister and made plans to visit Beads Beads to see what they had. They did not disappoint! I thought the selection was good in the 90's! They had every variety of needs you can imagine, and a lot that I hadn't. I was again looking for specific beads, purple specifically amethyst, but also anything that I couldn't find in the box stores. Wendy and Jeannette helped as I asked questions. I gave descriptions of the different things I would like. I found my amethyst beads, and so much more. I started digging through different trinkets to add to bracelets, books on beads, knotting, and jewelry. They have tools, leather, cable, clasps, stones, glass beads and so much more. The selection includes metal beads hard to find, and some beads that were likely antique, just waiting for the right creative soul to create something to bring them to life. I am so happy that this small business is still here. I can only imaging how many people have rummaged through and made this their store for creative inspiration and had the help of these two wonderful women to help them in their designing and seeking out to fulfill their creative outlets. I hope they continue on for another 30 years and beyond. They offer beads by the strand and beads individually. You can buy a lot or a little. I instantly felt comfortable sharing my news with Wendy, regarding the letters of my charms. I rarely do reviews but this place is so amazing that i needed to write one. This is the best bead shop I have ever come across. The owner was beyond kind and super knowledgeable. They had an amazing selection with lots of items that are difficult to find in person and even online. They have the cutest charm and bead bar with the most unique and affordable pieces. Almost all the charms and beads at the charm bar were under a dollar. I found about 20 beautiful beads and charms which all came out to $2. These prices are unmatched! Anytime I travel i love to visit the bead shops in the area, and this shop is by far the best i've come across. Not only is the selection and affordability amazing but the customer service was fantastic. The owner is such a joy to talk to and clearly cares about her customers. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The owner was so sweet and secretly gave my boyfriend a bracelet to give to me once we got into the car. It was such a beautiful piece and truly made my day. She is the type of person that inspires others to start and/or continue this amazing hobby. If you are debating on where to buy, this is the place to go. The energy in the shop is so positive and inclusive, great vibes! Such an awesome selection, very reasonable prices, and super helpful ladies who work there. They both helped me with an issue I was having--needed a way to attach a very small gold chain to a clasp and a gold fill jump ring wouldn't work. The lady at the register put her binoculars glasses on and found a gauge of gold-filled wire that would go into the chain. Saved me tons of time and energy. I had not been here for years! I use to shop here as a kid! I went on a Saturday. The shop Is in an old house next to the Bank of America at Collins off tustin ave. Parking is plentiful and the shop has a ramp entrance-the sign said open but it sure looked like it wasn't! Luckily it was open and I walked into a world of beads! The walls are lined with rows upon rows of all sorts of beads! From fancy stones that shimmer and sparkle to polished stones, shells, glass and crystals. They have all the fixings too- any finding you need to finish your masterpiece! And plenty of tools too- pliers and crimpers galore. Overall selection is much better and more unique than craft stores. Prices are reasonable and I grabbed some half price strands of fresh water pearls too! Service is very friendly and attentive. This place has a good selection of beads & hardware. I use seed beads and when I asked which are Toho and which are Miyuki, the response was that they are all mixed in. Well, these beads while both size 11, are completely different sizes and shapes. Some are more round, some more square, and should be differentiated and marked accordingly. Found this place on Yelp. When we first arrived, I was not sure if the place was open and I was intimidated by the small structure set back in a parking lot. I called the shop and they confirmed they were indeed open. We walked in and was surprised at the large selection of beads and jewelry making items. The owners have been at this location for decades. They have a variety of semiprecious beads sold in strands and larger ones by the piece. They have many other types of stones and beads. They also have jewelry wire in various colors and metals, including sterling silver. There was so much to see and we were only in for a few minutes. Purchased beads and wire. Love this bead store!!! Great selection and at a really fair price. They have a room that has unique single priced beads. Have found some of what I would consider "Rare Find" beads there. The ladies that work here are so friendly and always greet you when you enter the shop. The beads are available in so many beautiful colors and they have a section of beads on sale. I would like it if they had classes to attend to learn more about beading and different techniques. I asked about classes and they stopped during Covid. I love supporting small biz but ugghhhh....this place needs a nice clean up! There is even a cat living in the back room area...in a cage! This is a sweet little establishment with a good variety of beads that are moderately to a little higher priced. There was a good selection of items on sale however. The ladies tending to the customers were very helpful. When asked for detailed advice they gracefully provided it, yet they let me shop undisturbed (my preference). The sweet kitty in the back is in a large cat environment type enclosure and looks very well cared for. It is a mascot I guess with fan mail on the wall. So cute!
