I placed my order Wednesday around 1230pm and received a call from Lenny within an hour. He said they didn't have all the stock on the goods but they were at another location. One of them, I knew about, which was fine. He said he would figure it out and ship what he had and I would get it the next day. Then, he said, he would work on the others. Within a day, I received the first package (Thursday). Then, the second package came the day after on Friday. Needless to say, I am very impressed with a company that would go above and beyond to help a hobbyist like me on a small order. Truly appreciate the hustle with this company and definitely recommend ordering from them. Again, the store can be cramped, a little warm, and hectic, but you walk out with really good finds. I feel their price point is pretty reasonable, and their selection is great considering the size of the store. Staff is nice and seems helpful. Overall, cute Japanese stationery store to visit for all your stationery needs whether you're a seasoned artist or beginner. They have everything for everyone. My favorite was their journal selection, they had many good brands from Campus to Midori. I'm sure you will find something here.

They had a lot of the kitchen ware in stock, like pans, plastic cutting boards, cake packaging, etc. I personally got 2 kitchen oven mits, which were good quality and was priced competitively compared to other stores. First off - it's definitely harder to make them than it seems. lol If you have option paralysis or get overwhelmed easily, prepare yourself! Look at alllllll the colors in my photos available to use and maybe plan ahead. They provide templates of different floral, geometric, and banded designs that you can use, but you can go off-script if your noggin comes up with an idea! They give you a decent amount of time to create a design, glue said design in place, and then fill the rest of your lamp's empty space in with the tiny glass beads. There are a few final steps you can't complete while in "class" but that's due to the glue needing time to sit. You're not left in the dark however, as they show you a how-to video which is included in your take-home kit via a QR code. =) I noticed this place has other classes that seem like fun (terrarium and some sort of small dish painting?). I may need to return. Notes: - You interact with glue so you'll likely get messy. - There's a restroom to wash your hands, or if nature calls. - In the small bead fill-in time frame, everyone drops them. It's human. My daughter pointed at a Highland cow plushie, and a worker who was standing around the shelf suddenly said, "That's twenty dollars." I hadn't asked how much it was, wasn't looking at the price, and honestly wasn't even having an interaction with her. The comment caught me off guard and made me feel like I was being judged based on whether I could afford it. My daughter ended up choosing a Precious Moments plushie instead. As I was walking toward the checkout behind my friend, the same employee, while she was checking out another customer, said to me, "Are you going to pay for that?" Obviously I was walking toward the cashier because I intended to pay for it. The way it was said felt extremely rude and made me feel like I was being treated as though I was trying to steal something. What really disappointed me was that I came in happy, with my daughter, simply wanting to browse and enjoy some time together. I left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. There are respectful ways to assist customers or ask questions without making them feel watched, judged, or suspected of something. I understand employees have a job to do, but customer service and the way you speak to people matter. I hope management addresses this because no customer should leave a store feeling embarrassed or unwelcome when they haven't done anything wrong. This was around 4 pm. Thursday, August 27th.

My…read more11-year-old has been taking classes here for the past year, and I've loved watching her confidence grow along the way. Working with clay requires patience, creativity, and real time problem solving, which has been such a wonderful experience for her. I especially love that pottery teaches her to embrace the process rather than expect instant gratification. There's no rushing to a finished product...you have to work through each step, learn from mistakes, and sometimes figure out how to solve a problem when things don't go as planned. It has been so rewarding to watch her challenge herself, develop new skills, and become more confident in her ability to work through frustration and find solutions. These are skills that extend far beyond the studio, and I'm so grateful she has a place where she can develop them while doing something she genuinely enjoys. The staff are also amazing and clearly passionate about what they do. You can tell how much they care about the kids and their creative growth. We highly recommend Mud Hen Clay and Art Studio! It's a wonderful place for kids to create, learn, challenge themselves, and grow.
