There was a distinct shaking of the engine when at idle, the ABS light was on, and various other things needed to be inspected. I also had Chris install spark plugs that I purchased. Upon inspection, Chris quickly identified that the motor mounts were bad, the valve cover gasket was leaking, one of the spark plug coils was bad, and the rear ABS sensor was completely busted! Chris was able to diagnose and complete all repairs in less than 24hrs! I also expressed my concern of staying within a specific budget on the repair, which Chris was able to help me with. This is my 3rd time having Chris take care of my vehicles. I completely trust his opinion and expertise and won't take my vehicles anywhere else when I need a repair or even just some advice. There's not much more that I can say that hasn't been said in other reviews...but Chris is simply the man! HONEST, EXTREMELY CAPABLE & EFFICIENT! You can TRUST Chris to take care of your auto repair needs! ABSOLUTELY 5 STARS!!!

Took my car for a battery change and was told my car would need 2 batteries (e350 Mercedes)--invoice was over $900. They stated they had run test on both batteries and were at low percentages. Developed a flat tire on A1A. It was close to closing time but pulled in to check out our tire…read more We were told that they don't work on tires but would do what they could to help so we could get back on the road. They found a large bolt and determined the tire was not able to be used so they graciously put our spare on and checked its pressure. The pressure was low so air was added to get us going. All this was done with kindness and genuine concern. They would not accept payment for services. We left feeling we had found a place we could trust for future auto services and will definitely go back when necessary. They were very professional. We appreciate the help and kindness. I could not have been happier. Thank you, gentlemen!

I had a Mass Air Flow error on my 2019 Chevy Cruze. Also had a TPMS (tire pressure monitoring…read moresystem) that needed to be replaced. All done in a day and the price was not hateful -- 400 bucks for both including labor. Today the check engine light came on again, related to the MAF. Another MAF related error came up. I happened to read about the air filter before I drove down and mentioned it to Schaeffer. After checking, discovered the filter had warped causing part of the issue. Schaeffer replaced it for free! Always fair and customer driven. Cheers!

I requested a quote to replace the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on my 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport…read more The shop quoted $388.65 for the OEM sensor, $80 labor, plus $199 for "reprogramming the module," for a total of $744.15. As someone who works on cars myself, I know that a MAF sensor is plug-and-play on this vehicle and does not require any programming. The "reprogramming" they quoted usually just means driving the car around to recalibrate the computer, which takes minutes, yet they charged $200 for it. When I spoke on the phone with a representative who gave the name "Trevor," he said the reprogramming might not even be needed, but they wouldn't know until after doing the work. To me, this interaction felt untrustworthy. He also used jargon unnecessarily to make it sound more complicated than it is, something any reputable mechanic shop should avoid. The labor to replace the sensor is typically 5-10 minutes, and the part can be purchased OEM (Nissan factory) for ~$230-$250. My advice: get a second opinion or buy the part yourself to save hundreds of dollars.

I was driving from Florida to California in my 2016 car and I wanted an oil change. I called and made an appointment. The woman on the phone was FRIENDLY. We scheduled a day and time, because I had to wait for it since I'm on a trip. She quoted me a price for the oil change and it was reasonable. I got there on TIME and they were ready for me. The tech took my car and changed the oil while he checked it over. When it was done, the service writer told me that things looked good and I didn't need the air filter changed, the brakes were ok, etc. That was HONEST, no pushy upsell. I'm not in town regularly to go here, but if you are reading this, then you are and need to take your car to the shop. I recommend this place. Even if you have mechanic phobia like my daughters do, this place is going to be good to you. I promise.
