Bob from A1A beach Towing was amazing. He and partner worked diligently for hours to get us off the beach. It was 110 degrees that day. Not one car that went around us asked "are you guys okay". " Can I help"? What a shame..... We were on the beach for 6 1/2 hrs before A1A towing delived us to Jack Haninia Chevrolet on US1 in St. Augustine. We arrived at the dealership at 930pm. Bob the owner of A1A towing was committed to making sure his customers were going to be okay and off the beach. He communicated with the sheriff's dept so that they were available to open the beach gates to allow the flatbed tow truck to get to us. The beach closed at 730 pm.....the Sheriff's dept were awesome as well, by escorting all of us to the matanzas ramp and again opening the gate. Unfortunately our experience with our highly paid car to Florida Farm Bureau road side assistance service failed miserably. Our call to them was at around 330pm that day, with no help except BOB from A1A BEACH TOWING........ Bob told me husband and I, I will not leave you on this beach until you are safe and taken care of. No car rental available all closed by the time we arrived at the dealership. My daughter left her movie night with her family and drove almost 2 hrs to meet us at the dealership and waited another 2 hrs until we arrived by tow. We will be forever grateful to Bob and his flatbed tow truck drive that handled our vehicle with kid gloves. We made a great friends that day, as awful as it was. I've never had anyone go so over and above the call of duty. My 40 foot RV was stuck in gravel, and the more I tried to get it out, the deeper it got. Paul with A1A Beach Towing was there within 5 minutes (who is ever there within five minutes?) I was very concerned we might scratch the vehicles as it was now pinned in gravel, between trees, AND with an overhead powerline. But Paul was slow, meticulous, and spot on, and we got it out perfectly. Then he even CAME BACK (unheard of AGAIN) late at night, when traffic on the highway had calmed down, to help me drive it out and turn the big rig around so I could safely get my family out the next morning. I'd trust Paul with my life and I don't say that often. But he's a class act, and if anyone can get you out safely, and effectively, it's Paul. Accidentally got stuck while driving on the beach, and I was worried about not being able to leave. Jeff came to help us and was so kind and talked us through everything perfectly. We really appreciated him coming out, especially since by the time we had called, it was already dark outside. We came to visit St. Augustine from over 2 hours away and we were so worried about getting home. Jeff helped us get home safe and sound!!! I got stuck on the beach and was given Jeff's number by a sheriff. He advised me it might be a while because of my location (Vilano Beach) and the traffic. When he got there I found out his is a veteran and had started this business after working for another company. Jeff is so laid back yet very professional and had me out in no time. I was so impressed with his attitude and work ethic that the first thing I did was have my daughter who goes to school there put his number in her phone. If you need assistance or have a child going to college in St Augustine I would strongly advise you to call Jeff. We were on vacation and went on the beach for fun on the beach in our Jeep. When all the sudden a crazy clunk noise, oh no she won't move into any gear. Forgot to say we're not doing chicks so no climbing under for us. We found A1A towing and called. The guy that came out was so knowledgeable, so experienced and a respectful man. I got stuck on the beach near the A street entrance. I've had my truck on the beach several times but my 4x4 stopped working this time! I didn't even have to call for help because Bob with A1A regularly patrols the beach looking for those in need and stopped to help me within minutes of getting stuck. He towed me off the beach, told me what was likely wrong with my truck and how much the repair normally costs locally, and he was right! And he wouldn't even let me pay him! My daughter got stuck in the sand at ButlerBeach and Bob from A1A took good care of her.It was dark and she was the only one on the beach, it didn't take him long to get to her, she was talking to me when Bob arrived, he was very professional and polite, he got her out of the sand quickly, I have heard so many horror stories of people doing mean things to women that are out alone. When we couldn't open it ourselves he gladly offered to drive and pick up the lock guy ( who was unable to drive on the beach). He brought him to us and then drive the guy back to his car.
