Took my Honda Civic in because I had noisy in the left front wheel area. Was given a estimate to repair problem. Was told car was ready. Paid bill over phone. Unable to get there during working hours. Drove car to work the following day. On the way home noticed noises in right front. Really hadn't herd this before. Called sargent's service center told them the issue. Was told to bring it in they would look at it. They called me back with another estimate. For bushings. So it turns out that I took my car in for repairs paid the bill. Now I have a worse noise then before for a bargen price of 900 dollars and some change. I know a little about cars and I know a lot about paying to keep them in the road. I also know about automotive service and the three things that are important: Honesty, friendliness and timing. I found Sargeant Service Center to have it all. I was driving from Florida to California in my 2016 car and I wanted an oil change. I called and made an appointment. The woman on the phone was FRIENDLY. We scheduled a day and time, because I had to wait for it since I'm on a trip. She quoted me a price for the oil change and it was reasonable. I got there on TIME and they were ready for me. The tech took my car and changed the oil while he checked it over. When it was done, the service writer told me that things looked good and I didn't need the air filter changed, the brakes were ok, etc. That was HONEST, no pushy upsell. I'm not in town regularly to go here, but if you are reading this, then you are and need to take your car to the shop. I recommend this place. Do NOT take your car to this shop if you have a newer car with a computer system. They messed up my navigation system and now I cannot use my car properly. I took it back for them to fix and they refused to fix it/didn't know how to. Would NOT recommend. read more

I had a problem with my check engine light for my 2004 Mazda Truck. I called Sargeant Service Center on Friday January 13, 2023 talked to Laura. She told me to bring the truck in on Monday the 16th and she would have a mechanic perform a diagnostic check. I dropped my truck off and had the problem diagnosed by afternoon. We had an issue on our drive down to St. Augustine and had to have the car looked at. Since it was a transmission warning light we decided to take it to a place that did auto repairs including transmissions. Sargeant's seem to be the closest and best rated on Yelp. We took it in on a Monday but our online appointment was not until Tuesday. We told them we would like to leave town on Friday. After diagnosis of the issue, we found out the part would take 2 business days to get here but luckily they had it sent next day. The car was ready on Thursday at the price they quoted me and seems to be running good. Leaving in the morning. Thank you Kevin and company for getting it down on time. I had a minor incident on the highway last night. I ran over a tire tread that partially ripped off the heat/splash shield under the front of the car such that it started dragging. Adam & his tech performed quick civil war surgery to remove the shield when I showed up this morning to get me on my way quickly. Local auto shops are still interested in doing the right thing. So tired of seeing their commercials just can't take it. Made the mistake of telling my son to take his truck to Sargeants. They changed his timing belt which required moving the power steering pump to do it. The power steering pump fell off of the engine in the middle of the road while my son was driving home. He had it towed to Sargeants who told him it wasn't there fault and he must have done something. They also changed the transmission fluid and gave it back to him two pints low. There reply was "we don't check fluids unless you ask" Stay away from these phonies. read more

I'm very impressed with their work. Laura did an excellent job keeping me informed My transmission shifter arm broke off. I had the car towed to the local Ford dealer. They messed around for a couple of days when they reported that the repair would cost $1,800 but they did not have the part and zero clue when they could get one. I asked about used parts but never got a response. I found Sargeant Servce Center online and found they are AAA approved I called and talked with Laura and told her the problem and she said they will need to look at the car first but could obtain a used steering column and install it for around $550. I had the car towed to Sargeant and they repaired it total cost $546.60. This is covered by a one year warranty. This place is great they have a customer for life. Service writer and technician both lied to me about the condition of my vehicle, stating that it needed repairs that it didn't need. I bought into it only to have my vehicle returned in worse condition. They said that they would gladly look at it again, but why would I trust them a second time when they mislead me the first time. I own a mid 90's Suzuki Sidekick and an imported 90' Nissan Pao. I know nothing about cars so I usually look at the people to see if I think I could trust them. It's served me well and I've found some pretty good mechanics that way. My car was first diagnosed by a dealership as needing motor mounts. Something about the mechanic was too slick so I looked for other opinions. Sargeant had some good reviews on line so I tried there. Everyone was professional and nice- not only to me but to all of the folks who came in that day. Mike (not Mike Sargeant, the other Mike) took me on a test drive and immediately diagnosed the issue as axles, not motor mounts. It was still not an easy fix but with consultation from my former mechanic in another state, we got it right. Mike was very consultative and inclusive throughout the process. His mechanic was highly skilled. Repairs are not always an easy obvious fix and you need a team that is going to stick with it. Sargeant is that kind of place. Also, clean waiting room and great shop dog (Cash). Bring some dog treats and you have a friend for life. read more

Iv lived here for 40 years and took my first truck to them for a new clutch. I picked it up and didn't ge a block cause t wouldn't go into second gear. picked it up a second time and almost made it home a mile away and same thing. third time I drov 2 days and the second night my clutch was completely gone after just crossing the 312 bridge. they got it towed and blamed it on a cheep plastic slave cylinder that's known for breaking prematurely. Fast forward 30 years I wen to get some brakes put on cause I got too busy to do it myself. I told them I already have all the new pads and rotors. in the back and got charged over 2800$ , a complete brake job, line's, hoses, everything on a garage keeps no rust 113000 mile suv.", and said I had the wrong pads and rotors,"NOT".. Do your self solid favor and look elsewhere. And make sure you tell whoever works on your vehicle that anything Thats damaged and replaced tha you would like to see the actual part. If they won't keep looking Almost sad to say the Place is beyond dishonest, lack of respect and common sense. I forgot to mention dangerous/ safety hazard. And a certified mechanic just means they have a piece of paper that says so, but by no means does it say or mean that they're good at there job. read more

SARGEANT HAS NO REGARD FOR CUSTOMER SAFETY--PROTECT YOUR CARS (AND YOURSELVES) AND STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. After charging us $1,340.51 to fix an oil leak (as if that isn't bad enough), Sargeant provided an additional service for free: a nail in my almost new tire that ultimately made it go flat after leaving their property. Some advice to Sargeant: clean up your disgusting, filthy, and possibly dangerous property and try not to cause problems that do not exist when a car first comes in. When we called about the tire, Sargeant said, basically, that it was not their problem and for us to go away. So, as local residents who could have continued to be repeat business under different circumstances, we will make sure that we never bring our cars to Sargeant again. I advise any other locals considering a visit to stay away, if at all possible, as well. read more

After 3 months, and being quoted an estimate. Knowing up front, I brought my own used part needed, as it was very expensive. The final price for labor, was more than doubled. They suffer from a lack of communication with the customer. Lucky I seldom use this vehicle. But they cost me more money not telling me the ongoing challenges they seem to have. On top of all of that, with a very light interior, putting my dash back together, left it totally filthy, with the technicians dirty finger prints all over the front interior. Just terrible. I was traveling from south fl to Buffalo, NY in June when my car stopped on I-95. AAA towed me to this facility and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. They are a first class, family operated business. They had diagnosed, ordered and gotten the parts and repaired my car in a little over 3 hours. They gave me a ride to get lunch and picked me back up. During this time I was being kept aware of all that was being done and the costs.
