My friend had been raving about their clam chowder, so you already know that was going to be an absolute must. Then the host mentioned one of their specials was a BLT with heirloom tomatoes and basil aioli. Say less. She had me at BLT. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder and the BLT, while my friend went with the clam chowder bread bowl and a side salad. My chowder arrived well before my friend's bc they were still toasting her bread bowl. Unfortunately, enjoying my soup became a bit of a waiting game bc the soup spoon I was given was visibly dirty. I asked our server for a replacement, but it never came. By the time we asked another server for a spoon, my chowder had started cooling enough that a film was forming on top. Not exactly how I wanted to start my lunch. The chowder was still warm enough to enjoy. It was pretty flavorful, and I appreciated that there was a generous amount of clams. Nothing worse than potato chowder posing as clam chowder. Definitely not the case here. I also had a taste of my friend's bread bowl, and I can see why she enjoys that version. That garlic butter on the toasted bread definitely elevates things. Now, let's talk about that BLT. First off, I LOVE a great BLT. When our server brought mine out, my jaw dropped bc I was NOT expecting a double-decker sandwich. This thing was massive! I loved the use of heirloom tomatoes, but the basil aioli was a bit much for me. Each layer of bread had a hefty spread, and it completely overpowered the bacon. I eventually gave up on the sandwich as a whole and just ate the bacon and tomatoes. And that's when I realized they weren't using thick-cut bacon either. Next time, I'd definitely ask them to hold the basil aioli and give me good ol' mayo instead. Sometimes you just want your BLT to taste like a BLT. Despite a few misses with our lunch, I can appreciate what Trinidad Bay Eatery has going for it. It has that nostalgic, homey feel of a longtime mom and pop spot, and judging by the number of people waiting to be seated, they've clearly built themselves a following. Would I come back? Yes. There's enough on the menu that I'd be willing to give something else a try. And if that BLT special makes another appearance, I know exactly how I'm ordering it next time.

From the outdoor lighting to the quaint indoor decor, it's one of those places that makes you appreciate the ambiance before you've even ordered anything. Our server was welcoming, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening. She checked in on us regularly without interrupting our conversations, which I always appreciate. We started with the carpaccio, grilled oysters, and charcuterie board. The carpaccio was simply delicious. The accompanying bread was lightly toasted, allowing the delicate texture of the tenderloin to come through rather than getting lost in the crunch. The drizzle of Caesar dressing and coarse salt was just enough to elevate the flavor of the meat without overpowering it. The oysters were fresh, and I appreciated that the BBQ sauce (at least I think that's what it was) came on the side so you could control how much you wanted. Now, that charcuterie board deserves some love. You could tell there was intention behind the selections and pairings. The pâté was whipped, giving it such a delicate texture. The goat cheese, while tart, paired beautifully with the accompanying condiment and pluot slices. And the manchego with the apple slices? Yes, please. I enjoyed the charcuterie so much that if they offered it as a meal, I would absolutely order it. Give me that board and let me mind my business. For our mains, the table ordered ribeye, both naked and dressed, and filet mignon. We all requested medium rare, and let me tell you, the kitchen knows their temp bc they delivered! My ribeye was seasoned well and cooked exactly how I wanted it. The accompanying salad was delicious and abundant, and I was fortunate enough to snag the last twice-baked potato. Definitely flavorful with a great mouthfeel. No complaints from me. We ended the evening sharing the lemon tart, and I'm glad we did because it was a pretty generous slice. The crust was THICC, and the lemon filling was a lovely way to cut through the heaviness of everything we had enjoyed throughout dinner. Between the food and our table conversations, we somehow ended up being the last guests in the dining room. And despite how long we lingered, the staff never made us feel rushed. They remained kind and professional while allowing us to enjoy the rest of our evening. I can see why Larrupin Cafe has earned its reputation as one of the area's most romantic dining spots. The ambiance, food, and hospitality all came together for a wonderful evening. Would I return? You don't have to ask me twice.

The flavors and thoughtfulness of the dishes were so unique and fun. We ordered the Half and Half (Ribs and Brisket), the Halibut special, which was a philo-dough wrapped halibut, and the chicken special which was philo-dough wrapped chicken. The sides we enjoyed were asparagus (which my 6 year old declared was the best she'd ever had in her entire life), the coconut macadamia basmati rice (which I immedietly started researching how to make myself because it was incredible), and the twice baked potato. Everything comes with a significant sized size salad that has the most delicious dressing! We ordered the Baked Brie as an appetizer and had the creme brûlée and whipped goat cheese and chocolate (it has a better name but I can't remember it) for dessert. I am not normally a big fan of creme brûlée but there's was INCREDIBLE! We loved the goat cheese/chocolate, but that creme brûlée was OUT of this world! My only comment or suggestion if you go is to know that the portions are really huge for a fancy restaurant. The entrees come with a side and a large side salad and they give you a complementary charcuterie board as an appetizer (the bread on that board wasn't my favorite, but everything else was delicious!) and if we had known, we probably wouldn't have ordered our own appetizer. We had SO much leftover and took it to have as leftovers, but if we go back, we would probably split our entree and maybe even skip an appetizer? All in all, GREAT experience!

Asked about the happy hour and was told it's only at the bar and patio. Our table is literally between the bar and patio. Server said we can order at the bar and bring it to the table ourselves. Weird! At the bar, we waited patiently as there seemed to be a lot of confusion at the bar cashier and general chaos. There were swarms of flies EVERYWHERE. One even landed on my sister's face while talking! We finally got our drinks and he sent the tab back to the table anyway. What was the point of making us order at the bar? Even more weird! We ordered 6 oysters, but couldn't decide whether to get fresh or grilled. The server suggested both so my husband said sure. A dozen oysters came out. Way to upsell us. I tried to order a cocktail off of their menu and they were out of the ingredients on a Saturday night. I ordered grilled cheese off the bar menu for my four year old. They brought out pastrami panini instead. By the time the correct order came out, he was no longer interested in eating. Grilled cheese was untouched. There is only two bathroom stalls for both genders at this restaurant. One was out of order so there was only one working bathroom for both men and women. My four year old was bent over in pain waiting in line for the bathroom to open. Thankfully he didn't have an accident. When we left the restaurant, there were four people waiting in line to use the restroom. Yikes! After an hour of waiting for our entree to arrive, I was pretty annoyed, but the food was actually good so I was ready to brush all the other annoyances off. But then we asked for the check. The server says their system is down so they can only accept cash. We don't have enough cash to cover dinner for 8. After 15 minutes of waiting around, the server says she will take a check! We don't carry around our check book on vacation. After another 15 minutes of waiting, the server offers her personal Zelle. What a joke. No wonder there was so much confusion at the bar when we first sat down. It's been down this whole time and they never mentioned it! It would have been courteous of them to let us know BEFORE WE ORDERED that it was going to be cash only. Also, they took our credit card information when we made our reservation so they could have charged to it when the system was back up. The food was a lot better this time, but I'll never be back. It's too bad because the view really is gorgeous. The flies and bad service is enough of a turn off. We will keep an eye on our card statement to make sure they don't double charge us.

Revamped our front of house dining area, to bring a more cozy and aesthetic dinner experience.

I used to go to this cafe untill several months ago. It was after I saw a man chased out of the cafe for viewing a web page on flow charts. One of the emplyees saw the page and accused him of putting porn on their computer. I saw the web page and it was about flow charts. Up in the right hand cornner of the page was a click add with a good looking woman laying face down on a bed. The image was part of a series of adds along the right side of the page. It was a small picture in a add and not the main page. When this man tryed to show this to the worker she refused to examin the page and litterly chase the man out of the cafe. I was shocked and so was another customer. I'm not sure what happened, but the worker was clearly out of line. Beond that, the BeachComber seems like a confortabal place although rather price for what you get. They also seem to take orders (and $$$) and then forget to provide the food. This happened to me on a regular basis. It is also a very loud place. I also noticed that almost all the customers were very much the same, no diversity at all. It's not reflective of the overall communit, but does reflect the general anti-government sentiment of the local "cash crop community," if you know what I mean. read more
