If you'd prefer avoiding a slipped disc or back pain, I would avoid this gym. I worked with Benny who is an incredible sweet and nice guy. I've always been a pretty athletic person, and I have worked out regularly on my own. I booked personal training sessions because I specifically wanted someone to watch me while doing workouts, improve form, and make sure I'm lifting a safe weight. I did a consultation and everything seemed to check out - Benny is incredibly fit and so I figured if someone knows good form and lifting properly, it's him. He's also a really nice and sweet guy. That being said, I really do believe it's the job of a personal trainer to know when someone's form is ready for a certain lift, to know which exercises are safe, which amounts of weights are safe, and to advise a beginner on when to stop. On the second personal training session, as a 120-pound woman, Benny gave me 272 pounds to lift -- on my second, ever training session! Since that session I have consulted 2 medical practitioners and 4 other folks who lift regularly; all 6 have said it's extremely irresponsible and negligent to give someone *that* much weight on a second lifting session (there's no way their form can allow for proper lifting of 2x their body weight! And a trainer's first call to duty is safety) and that this workout plan was barely short of pure recklessness. Benny had me lifting more than two times my body weight on a deadlift. For context, if you're a 200 pounds man, that means lifting 400+ pounds. As you can imagine, my back completely went out (I heard and felt some sort of sound), and was in incredible immediate pain -- right after the injury, I couldn't bend over without immense pain. Had the pain gone away in a week or so, I wouldn't be here writing this review. Unfortunately, it's been over a month and that pain has not fully gone away -- 6 weeks and $500+ in medical bills later. Most likely I will need to have an MRI to see if there's any kind of disc issue. These 2 sessions alone will likely result in over $1000 in medical bills, if I go ahead and do the MRI. I wrote the bulk of this review at 1 am in the morning in bed, because the tingling in my right leg has actively prevented me from falling asleep. My experience involved 3 days of intense pain, 1 week of extremely limited movement, and a month of continued lingering pain and tingling in my right leg down to my feet. Even a month after the injury, I cannot lift anything substantial without the pain returning. Woke up on Christmas morning with a backache. I can't in good conscious recommend this gym. I regret coming to this gym so, so, so much. You can always get another job, another car -- pretty much anything. But you can't get another back. Giving a complete beginner 272 pounds to deadlift on a 2nd session seems to fall short of reckless. If this gym employs someone that gives a workout like that on a 2nd session, I think it needs to re-consider it's standards. Back issues are no joke, and I'd give anything to have to live pain-free again. read more

Travis literally saved my life Not because of some acute act of heroism, or because he helped rack the bar just in time before I fatigued on a bench press that otherwise would've sandwiched me between the bench and the bar. He saved my life by providing a service that is essential, IMO, to a healthy being; and he provided it at a time in my life where I needed it more than ever. I was a bodybuilding and personal trainer myself for over a decade, and worked side-by-side with Travis in the gym that I first got hired at. He was a huge inspiration to me in my early years, and I had a long and fruitful career as a personal trainer and competitive bodybuilder. In my early 30s I switched careers (from personal training to real estate related work) and my wife and I welcomed our son into the world. I was slowly creating new lifestyle habits that were not conducive to a healthy life, and this was exacerbated by these habits being in such stark contrast to the life I used to live. I went from being in the gym all day with my clients, walking around, racking weights, and working out personally in between clients, to sitting for the majority of the day and only working out 1-2 times a week. This slowly worsened, and before I knew it I didn't have any gym memberships and only worked out a few times a month in my garage gym. Now, I take full responsibility for these changes, and they were more or less a requirement for me to continue building the life my wife and I wanted with a family. I truly couldn't have spent as much time on myself in the gym after my son, and I wouldn't trade my son for anything in the world so it was an easy choice to make But then I started to find myself feeling the long term affects of the lifestyle changes; my confidence, my body image issues, my overall drive, and my happiness. So I started trying to find other ways to mitigate things, and even hopped on Adderall in hopes that it would provide me with a bit of a boost. Nothing seemed to be working, and my mental state was continuing to worsen. As a former bodybuilder and personal trainer, I KNEW I needed more physical activity and I KNEW I needed to be held accountable by someone, because clearly I was failing at holding myself accountable. It was hard enough to admit that to myself, but we all have to look in the mirror at times. I knew, first hand, that Travis was the best in the business because I had worked side by side with him for years, and saw his loyal clientele stay with him through multiple location changes as well. The reason people stay with him isn't because he is a top-tier personal trainer; his knowledge and experience (since he has been a bodybuilder his entire life) puts him at the top of that category IMO, but people stay with him because of his energy and the way he makes you feel. He makes you feel cared for, tended to, important, and overall happier by the time you are done working out with him. As a personal trainer myself, I know this is VERY difficult to do day after day after day after day. So I reached out to him, told him about how I was feeling and my situation, and started working out with him once or twice a week since March of 2023. While training with him, I started to feel better, feel happier, engage more with my family and work, and started to rebuild the good habits that I knew I needed. I started working out at a gym down the street from me on the days I wasn't training with Travis, since Travis's gym was about 40 minutes from my house (worth the drive, but I knew I couldn't do it forever). At this point, as of June 2024, I no longer make the trek to Travis's gym to train with him (I miss it), but I workout regularly 4-5x per week at the gym down the street from me, and more importantly my workouts have the intense energy and focus that they used to have back when I was a bodybuilder. I knew I wouldn't be able to train with Travis indefinitely, but I knew that it was exactly what I needed at the time, and I'm thankful that I finally stopped feeling sorry for myself and my situation, picked up the phone and called Travis, and got back on track with my life So yes, Travis saved my life, and if you think that is an overstatement - you're wrong read more

This is an awesome gym with an owner who's dedicated to keeping the equipment and surroundings organized, clean and in great shape! It's an open environment where you're surrounded by and energized by trainers focused on helping their clients in a friendly atmosphere and where everyone's efforts are respected. The gym also enables the trainers there to really customize their client's workouts and it's a learning experience (everyday) to see various training techniques and their focus. My wife and I first came to BBA when one of their trainers, Alex, started training at this gym. Alex is outstanding and has been our trainer for two years. He's extremely knowledgeable and passionate about training and can take you anywhere from HIIT to serious strength training for competition and everywhere in between. His latest mantra, "Exercise is fun!" is code for "Don't stop!" during our circuit training (LOL). But that's how these trainers are at this gym. They're friendly, serious, focused on you, and they want to bring a little fun so you can improve and keep at it. Grat gym! I've been going there for years, and have had excellent success and results from Benny. Travis, the guy who runs the gym, does a great job keeping things neat and clean (and he's super-jacked, too!). It's about 5000 square feet, plus an upstairs yoga studio. It's all private personal training, and the trainers are good at coordinating with each other so nobody gets in each other's way. There's a big lot in the back where people sometimes do additional training, like pushing a weighted sled back and forth, etc. It has all the free weights and dumbbells you'd expect, plus machines. There's some treadmills, a stairmaster, and some "assault bikes" too, and it's usually OK to train a bit on your own before or after your private session. read more

Absolutely love this gym! I work with my trainer, Audrey, at this location. She has helped me so much with the mobility, strength and endurance over the years that I have been working with her. She understands my body and knows how to adjust workouts based on how my body is feeling so I don't get hurt. Gym has an excellent mixture of free weights/equipment, weighted/cable machines, cardio equipment, and a fabulous turf. They also have equipment for stretching and warming up to avoid injuring yourself. Great amount of space to work with and all the trainers are super nice! You can tell that they pride themselves in the training they are providing to their clients. Travis, the owner, always kept it clean and sanitized with COVID restrictions in place and continues to maintain that same level of cleanliness now. He also makes sure the gym and the equipment are working properly that issues are addressed quickly. Plus he always has a smile on his face and makes everyone feel so welcomed and comfortable! And of all the gyms I've been to, this gym has to have some of the more experienced and well educated trainers out there. I would feel comfortable sending family and friends here without a second thought. A warehouse workout experience that is nice and open with vaulted ceilings and HUGE FANS that you can really feel. Seriously, the fans are huge. I have tried every gym, every diet that is out there, and after ending up on the surgery table this year I decided to really change my life around. I have a history of back and knee problems dating back to my teenage years and have never been able to establish a regular workout/exercise routine because I would always aggravate an old injury a month in. My trainer is Benny Evien and he is awesome! He is experienced, passionate, attentive, and dedicated. He really motivates you to remain focused on fitness and nutritional goals. He even keeps reminding us about nutrition and fitness via emails. Benny takes feedback after each session and none of his sessions have repeated, even though I have been training with him for years. Each session lasts 1 hour, it is intense, and covers whole body workout. BBA Gym is by far the most fun personal training you will ever have! Travis and Stacy are such fantastic owners. They really care about your progress and are always in touch, checking in on you, regardless of how many times a week you train. All the trainers are so friendly, nice, and encouraging, that it doesn't really matter who you train with, every one is there cheering you on. I personally train with Travis, and it is literally the one hour that I look forward to the most in my week. I'm not saying that to be cheesy...you know how sometimes, you have your gym routine and once every so often you just don't feel like going but know you should, especially because you're paying for it? That NEVER happens here. There has never been a day that I've dreaded going to work out at BBA, even if I know we've got something heavy coming that day! Travis even got me to agree to compete in my first powerlifting meet and programming with him was definitely so fun and such a great experience. It was so great to have something to look forward to, and to work towards. And both he and Stac would check up on me, emails, text, calls, throughout the process, that it made competition day that much less nerve wracking!! (That's definitely not my last meet! Training at BBA has been one of the best investments I've ever made! Travis, Stacy, and all the trainers are very professional and so encouraging! The facility is well maintained with top notch fitness equipment. Travis is always vacuuming and keeping the gym floor spotless! Thanks Travis for doing that... Dumbbells and barbells and miscellaneous equipment are always racked! It's awesome!! I started training with Stacy aka..Boss Lady.. about 4 months ago!! She's the BEST cheerleader ever!! I look forward to our Monday morning session because she's a ray of sunshine to my day! Her programming has increased my overall strength that I can now knock out 15 pull ups and PR on my bench and deadlift. My level of fitness has improved overall which has transferred to my cycling. She provided me with flexible and sound nutrition program which has decreased my body composition significantly. Stacy goes above and beyond as a trainer and genuinely cares. She checks in on me, sends me homework workouts during the week and keeps me posted on the latest and greatest trends on lulu gear lol!! With Stacy coaching it's guaranteed to be a great sweaty workout with lots of F-bombs and oh Sh!! and lots of laughs for sure!! These days I'm more confident in my own skin...she's helped me get my #swole on and my swagger back!! If you're looking for a place to train, I highly recommend BBA! You will not be disappointed. I have been coming to this gym for 3 years and finally when Bodies by Amorim took over full time and brought in more trainers wow what a difference in the training ! The trainers there care about you and really take the time to help you with your work out. They motivate you in a positive way without being too aggressive and get me to push myself more. I also have changed my eating habits with some advice from my trainer Benny and am finally seeing results. It's not overcrowded, lots of equipment and everyone is so nice. I have to say I enjoy working out. It's always a mystery when coming to work out what kind of work out is in store for me so I never get bored. I am giving 5 stars to BBA Gym for their overall rating! The facility is clean. The owner is a neat freak so that helps because we all know gyms can be pretty gross. The staff is great! They are personable and genuine in helping people get fit and healthy. I've trained with Travis for many year and I've learned a lot from him on nutrition and what works for me to keep healthy. Currently, I work with another associate Trainer - Benjamin and I love him! Being a mother of 3 and working full time, he is extremely accommodating and patient. He's a great trainer and makes working out enjoyable. I am not one of those people who looks forward to working out so that makes a big difference. It's also nice to go to a smaller, specialized gym and get the attention you need without having to big self-conscious about the big gym feel of so many people around... judging!!
