I give Bayclub an extra star for the mirrors in the class areas. Those gym mirrors provide the illusion that I'm 1 to 2" taller and slimmer without a workout! The floor plan seems confusing, odd gaps and choppy. More efficient flow would be ideal to connect the areas better. Plenty of parking when it's not busy:)

I do feel like this is a step up (although it's also a lot more expensive), but I do feel like there are opportunities for improvement here. On some days, parking can be difficult to find, especially during rush hour time. Some areas of the gym look older than others and the overall layout is strange to me. There's multiple, sectioned off areas with different workout machines, so depending on what you decide to work out on, you migrate to that specific room. I personally like a more open layout floor plan, but the building isn't designed that way. I feel like some guests don't pick up after themselves and often find the men's steam room trashed. Lockers are big and for the most part pretty clean. I feel like more regular sweeping, cleaning, and wiping down of surfaces would be nice. Showers are nice and there is complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. In the restrooms you can find everything you need to shave, Q-tips, hair dryers, lotion, etc. The towel service is definitely nice and convenient. Complimentary coffee and tea before 11am is also a bonus. The recovery room is one of my favorite areas. It's nice for a post workout hydro massage. Equipment is usually in good condition. Overall, I enjoy my membership and try to make the most out of it. Honestly, if Equinox was closer to where I lived I would probably pay the premium to go there, but Bay Club is closer to where I live so it will do for now.

FNS Training Center - Santa Clara…read more I recently dropped in for a 5AM class at FNS, and even from just one session, it's clear this place is built different. Right away, I noticed the tight-knit camaraderie. There's a strong sense of community that honestly feels even more connected than other group fitness gyms like F45. As a first-timer, I felt welcomed from the start. The energy is on another level. The headset mic system helps amplify coaching across the large floor space, making the session feel clear and high-energy. Coach Brenden's shout-outs during the workout were electric--you could tell everyone was feeding off it. After class, Kim at the front desk was incredibly helpful--she walked me through a tour and went over my InBody results in detail. That kind of individual attention isn't something you always get, and it really stood out. My wife joined me for the class too (she had to rush out early since she works in Menlo by 6:30 AM), but we were both impressed by the vibe and professionalism. On a personal note--I've admired Brian Nunez from afar since meeting him a couple of times back in the 2006-2008 Club One / Active Sports Club days. It felt full-circle finally stepping into the space he's built. He's become a truly respected leader in the fitness industry, and FNS absolutely reflects that vision. As someone turning 40 this year, raising a 4-year-old and a teen, and down 70+ lbs since April 2024, fitness isn't just about reps for me--it's about reclaiming my life. FNS brings that intention, energy, and leadership I respect deeply. Whether you're starting fresh or leveling up--FNS is the real deal.

Shout out to Raj for being so helpful and accommodating-- I did the cold plunge super early in the morning and felt so refreshed before work! Parking: there's parking you can park outside of the garage when you turn in that's free and you don't need a permit Secure building: A code is needed in order to get into the building to go up into the elevator to get to the class/gym which is good since random strangers would need the code Very aesthetic place with lightings! However, there were some minor improvements that can be made. 1) the class sizes felt too large. For the boot camp class, there were close to 30 students and approximately 8-10 different "stations" or rotations going on simultaneously. There were 2 instructors going around demonstrating the activities and correcting form but ultimately, we felt confused half the time. The echo and music also made it difficult ti follow the instructor sometimes. 2) for the boxing class, the different punches were called out as numbers 1-6. It took a while for my partner and I to figure out which number correlated to which technique. It was out first time attending the class, and I'm sure the regulars would know which number correlated to which punch. However, it would have been nice to have a quick intro during class. The gym is new, so I'm sure they are working out the kinks over time!

I've trained at a range of gyms including Lifetime, Equinox, and 24 Hour Fitness, so this is coming…read morefrom real comparison, not just a one-off experience. What's frustrating is that 24 actually has great equipment. In some locations, the machine selection is just as good as, or even better than, what you find at higher-end gyms. Meanwhile, you're paying $200+ a month at places like Equinox largely for fewer people and better cleanliness. And that's the gap. At 24, the issue isn't the equipment. It's the lack of consistent hygiene and accountability. You still run into people who don't wipe down machines, leave sweat behind, or treat the space like it's not shared. It breaks the experience, and it's exactly why people feel pushed to pay a premium elsewhere. There's a very clear opportunity here that could completely change the game: Implement and enforce a "no towel/bench barrier, no training" policy. This isn't about being overly strict. It's about creating a baseline standard. When people are required to use a towel as a barrier between themselves and the equipment: Sweat is contained instead of transferred directly onto benches and machines Cleanliness improves immediately and visibly Members become more mindful of shared space This is standard in many European gyms, and it works because it's enforced, not just suggested. From a business standpoint, it's also a win: Towel service memberships become more valuable Retail towel sales increase Equipment lasts longer due to less direct sweat exposure But the key is consistency. Staff should actively walk the floor, clean regularly, and reinforce the policy so it becomes part of the culture, not just a sign on the wall. Right now, 24 has the foundation to compete with premium gyms on experience, not just price. But without stronger standards around cleanliness and etiquette, it falls short. Fix that, and it's a completely different gym.

Guest visit Saturday 4/11/26…read more Pleasant, fully stocked gym in an old strip warehouse. Funky location, but fully functional. I came to this gym because my child has a semi-local soccer tournament this weekend and the mini gym at embassy suites just doesn't cut it. I read some reviews and was skeptical, but none of the 1 or 2 star reviews make sense. Old equipment? Sure it's not new, but they'd be complaining if they got new crappy nautilus equipment. This equipment has tons of variety, is in really good shape and is average or better brands and quality. Cyber, life fitness, hoist, etc. it has 5 full power racks with lifting/bumper pads and a full collection of bars to go with. Cardio equipment had both variety and volume. It's too bright inside? Cool, now I can see if kids left plates next to a bench and I won't trip over them. The few quibbles I had are the same that every gym has. I'd like a few more and bigger mirrors. But the windows and walls don't really have space/spacing for them. Low water pressure from the water fountain and more of them. They should call the city to come right out and fix it. The bathrooms are a bit dated, but they are clean and spacious. It has plenty of lockers in the locker room and plenty of bench's for changing. Plenty of showers, big sink/mirror area. As a guest, I'm not sure about billing or child care, etc, but the one employee at the desk was pleasant. Definitely recommend this gym.

First off, I can't believe I am writing a review for my once favorite gym and giving it a rating…read morethat's not 5 stars. I've been here for over 4 years, introduced over 20 clients to this gym, and built real friendships here. We even have a gym group chat with members here. I was one of the OG members, and now I had to leave because my membership was terminated for reasons I strongly disagree with. Hear me out. This gym has nice equipment, and yes, it is well maintained, so if you only care about machines, you will enjoy it. I would give the equipment 4 out of 5. But the staff and how the entire management team handles things made me have to give the overall rating 2 out of 5. I just can't give this place 1 star because this was once home to me with all my friends, and I recommended over 20 friends here. The real problem, in my opinion, is the staff experience now. Anyone who has been here long enough knows how much this place changed after McCall left and The Bumgardner Health Group took over. Real gym enthusiasts and bodybuilders have started going to Gold's, and there is a reason behind it. If you're an old member, you probably understand what I mean. In my experience, the way rules are applied now feels inconsistent. It felt like once you got on their radar, normal behavior started being interpreted differently. There was a front desk staff member who watched me closely throughout my workouts. If I moved to a corner, I would often see her nearby checking machines or changing paper towels. It gave me the impression that I was being monitored more than usual. And honestly, I would say be careful about arguing or pushing back, because in my experience it did not lead to a productive outcome. I was a long-time member, known for being friendly, and still ended up being labeled as having a "negative attitude toward members and staff," which did not match how I see my own behavior. In my experience, escalating to management was not productive, and the response did not feel professional. eg. getting banned asking for proof and getting a response of "asking for too much". If you are someone who keeps a low profile, you can probably go there and enjoy the machines. But if you stand out or get the attention of staff, your experience may be different. According to me and my homies' experience, issues can be raised around things like gym attire, check-in situations (funny cuz this falls under staff's responsibility), standing near equipment, using your phone for video/photo, or helping friends with form. Some of these situations felt more like misunderstandings than actual violations and you are not allowed to prove yourself, aka. shut up or leave. I still love the gym vibe because of the people, but now even the people are leaving. The gym is becoming more and more empty, and that is the saddest part because the community is what made this place special. If you are a true bodybuilder and you care about community, vibe, and culture, not just machines, I would recommend Gold's instead. If you do not believe what I am saying, stay and see for yourself. I just hope you do not end up in the same situation.
