I started training at Anchored Strength ~10 months ago. I train in 1:1 sessions as I know I've lot to work on :-D Steve is the best coach I've trained with. He knows what he's talking about. better yet, he walks the talk. :-) And jokes, boy he's funny! #Bad water (Hydra bad) my overall strength has gone up, form improved. I'd recommend Steve to any person who's looking to build strength and endurance. Thank you Steve! let's keep up the good work!

If you want to train somewhere that is tailored to you as an individual, look no farther! The best part of going to a privately owned gym is that you get one on one time. Steve is willing to work with you to develop meal plans and strength training sessions that will get you to where you want. He's not there to hold your hand 24/7 or curse you out. If you're looking for a positive, actual lifestyle change, you'll find it here. But if you just want to hit the weights or cardio machines, this isn't the right place. And even though it's a small business, they're open six days a week!! Woohoo!

Steve, his trainers, and his gym are amazing!! I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get stronger and fitter in a welcoming, challenging, and fun community. I joined 3 months ago and in those three months I've lost 17 pounds while providing my body what it needs most. Im not starving, I'm not on any fad diet. I'm just eating healthy and balanced, and giving my body what it needs. Steve helped coach me to understand what what my body needs and doesn't. In that time I've also gotten stronger, more confident, and probably most importantly have I've learned that my body is capable of so much more than I thought. I joined this gym because I wanted to learn to lift weights safely and to add strength training to my regular workouts. I've done dance classes for years and I still do because I love them - but the long, intense cardio did nothing to add shape or give me the long term metabolic benefits that weights can. I'm seeing amazing results in just a few months, here and as a bonus I'm even better at dance classes.... I tried personal training at other gyms and two things always happened - I was given a trendy set of exercises to do that didn't actually teach me much, and the exercises didn't make a difference long term. They were just the newest thing. Second thing is as a woman with some extra weight people would underestimate what I was capable of. Not here - I'm challenged continuously, I see results, I'm taught safely using traditional lifts that actually work. I couldn't ask for more! Last - the environment is amazing. It's welcoming, encouraging, fun. Everyone is supportive and everything is adjusted to where you are - and to challenge you continuously to get better. I feel like what I'm learning here I will always have. It's so much more than what I've gotten at other places, it's definitely worth it. It's a fun and welcoming environment.

Workout with Steve is the best decision I've ever made. Within the first 6 month I lost 55 lbs, and it also cured my pre diabetes. More importantly it also changed my mindset, and gives me the courage to face challenges in work and life.

Don't be scared of the ropes, they won't bite

What makes Adam such a great trainer is how flexible and dedicated he is. I travel a lot and work a demanding software engineering job, but he's always willing to adjust schedules and make things work. You can tell he genuinely cares about his clients and loves what he does. Even on days we don't train, he still checks in, gives me pointers, and helps me stay on track. He also does a great job tailoring workouts to your specific needs and constantly adds different exercise variations to keep things effective, challenging, and fun. Every workout feels personalized instead of repetitive. The gym itself is amazing too -- it has every piece of equipment you could possibly need, plus all the little extras that make training better. Everything is always incredibly clean and spotless, which makes the environment even more motivating to be in. On top of all that, Adam keeps workouts fun and motivating. We always have great conversations, and over time he's become more than just a trainer, he's become a friend too. Highly recommend him to anyone looking to level up their fitness.

Once you've mastered the basics, their advanced classes provide the perfect environment to continue learning, growing, and testing your skills. What sets Smash apart from other gyms I've trained at is the strong sense of community. I met a lot of amazing people, both students and coaches, and the camaraderie there is unmatched. It wasn't until I moved away from the South Bay and trained at other gyms that I fully appreciated how special Smash is. While other gyms are good, they simply don't compare to the experience I had with Coach Rudi, Jose, Tristan, and the rest of the team. If I ever move back to the South Bay, or even just visit, I'll definitely drop by for a session.
