If something needs to be fixed, it's taken care of quickly. The gym has everything you need: machines, a few squat racks, free weights, a Smith machine, and a decent-sized cardio area with a good variety of equipment. The only thing I wish they had is a chest fly machine. There are classes going on all the time, and there's a turf area where your child can play while you work out. The turf has outdoor toys, ride-on vehicles, and large Legos, which is a great setup. We use the kids club for our daughter, and she loves it and always has fun. Childcare was the main reason we chose this gym since no other gyms in Cupertino offer it, and it ended up being an amazing decision. Our daughter also does swim lessons here. Brian is very patient and makes her feel comfortable in the water. She has learned how to float, hold her breath underwater, and is beginning to swim. She used to hate swimming, and now she looks forward to going every week.

Positives: Weight room has two squat racks that double as deadlift platforms! You can always find a treadmill open and the views of the parking lot, sky, and YMCA lobby are pretty peaceful to look at as you're running or biking. Free coffee every morning. I've never tried it myself, but that is a unique perk only this YMCA has. Chess club meets on Sunday mornings. I had to stop going last year, but when I went it was a ton of fun and open to everyone. Negatives: The men's locker room floor is almost always wet from kids not properly drying off after swimming. It's pretty annoying for gym goers because we are wearing socks that can get wet; that just ruins our day. Weight room has no ventilation and the fan is broken; it can get stuffy in there. Parking lot has shade from like one tiny tree in the very back. If you don't get that spot, your car is going to be under the sun during your entire workout. Overall, I do love this YMCA. I love seeing families and people of all ages, ethnicities, and cultures enjoying their time off work or school. There's always a good vibe here.

One of the instructors there recommended Field Fitness, and I've loved what I have found. I've mostly been taking classes with Josh and he's so motivating and supportive. I've got an arm injury and he's been great about providing alternatives for some exercises while keeping the flow of the class going for all. So impressive. There is no 'hard sell' at this place - which I really appreciate, and their endurance as a studio is there because they offer great programming and great product via the classes that they have. If your schedule means that you can only do infrequent or irregular classes, through to dedicated multi-times-a-week practice for strength, core, upper body and lower body work, you can do via the classes at this gym - so check it out!

I am working remotely with their trainer Jeff. With a relatively small investment I have all of the equipment I need to transform my family room into a workout space each morning. I work out through face time with 3 other women, each of whom are in much better shape than I am. Jeff tailors a program for each of us, so that we are doing similar exercises at the same time fitting each of our needs. He has been particularly good at helping me find ways to continue to work out despite some knee issues. He is amazingly responsive. What I'm enjoying most is the balance in the workouts between strength training and cardio. By the end of every workout I really feel a sense of accomplishment and have worked up a good sweat. I feel that great feeling of having worked hard and accomplished something, but I don't feel so exhausted the rest of the day that my day is shot. I feel revved up rather than beaten down. If your looking for a way to workout from your home, I would give FIT a call. I find the cost reasonable. You don't need your own home gym just some weights, an adjustable weight kettle ball and a mat will get you started. I highly recommend.

There is never judgment from the staff or the people who work out. I love them all. I am proud to call this gym my gym and I'm so happy to be part of this community. Are the equipments best in class? No. But I will come here because of the people and honestly - to be fit all you need are free weights, cardio equipment, and a little help from your friends. The trainers are always so helpful and the manager, Nico is so fun and friendly. For training I recommend Edwin. He has the most transformative training I've ever seen. I have seen his clients transform to their goal body. He takes his job seriously, corrects you while training and understands that proper form is key. He's given me tips and has also helped me transition my training to something suited and better for me and I've seen changes in the way my body respond! So- kudos to Edwin! The front desk staff from Chloe, Mayra, Lance, Andy, and Rishi are so approachable and always there with a smiling face. Jose Luis - the trainer's manager is also super helpful! Fortunately, there are good and compassionate people who are trained in the restoration of mobility for those of us who are in need of a tune-up. Few of us want to be consigned to the rocking chair, unable to get onto the floor to play with our grandchildren. Speaking of good and compassionate professionals, I would heartily recommend Peak Physical Therapy in Cupertino for several reasons: 1 - From the moment I walked through the door, I was made to feel like a welcomed member of a family. The first people I met were the receptionists and, truly, they were glad to see me. I received this same welcoming feeling every time I arrived for a session, not just from the receptionists but from everyone. 2 - Of note was that my therapist NEVER treated me as just another body in some production line. Yes, I have had that experience elsewhere. She focused completely on me, quickly assessing my needs and developing an efficient plan of stretching and strength building. She was always polite and engaging, the kind of person that you would treasure as a good friend. 3 - Also telling, the other patients seemed very happy to be there as well. Obviously, their needs were being met and hope for restoration was being fostered. And that is one of the great gifts that Peak has to offer: hope. But, of course, we, as patients have a role to play in our own recovery. 4 - There are a good number of aides to assist the P/Ts. Every aide I worked with was pleasant, courteous, professional, and really helpful if I had questions about an exercise or needed a bit of help getting a strap around my big shoes. 5 - The facility itself is spacious, well-lit, clean, and feels comfortable. Items, such as towels, pillows, the treatment tables, etc. are cleaned after each patient. They have their own washer/dryer. (Not for patient use, unfortunately.) In summary, please avoid trying to self-diagnose or form your own recovery plan. Let the professionals at Peak set you on the best road to recovery in a safe, efficient manner.

Jud's classes are always designed to be intense (I would say often moreso than P90X or Insanity), but he always offers modifications and is happy to help you come up with custom modifications for what you are trying to do (e.g. lower impact vs lower intensity). Jud is always changing it up - I never worry about being bored at his class or repeating a workout. He also has all the toys, including TRX. I really look forward to his dedicated TRX classes (every other Monday) and his strength classes (every Wednesday). Jud himself is super upbeat and finds time to say something encouraging to everyone, despite often having classes of 20 or more folks. I would recommend this class for everybody, from beginners to those well seasoned in bootcamp-style classes.

I am now a regular bootcamper and go as many days as I can during the week. I love the different exercises that we do and there is always something new to try. Jud is a great motivator and knows how to challenge everyone to push above and beyond their capabilities. The classes are very well priced. What I really like is that you are issued a punch pass with the number of classes to attend. Each time you attend a class, you punch the card. Most other bootcamps require a monthly fee for a fixed number of classes. If you miss a class, you don't get any make-ups. The punch card allows you to attend class when you can and not lose any money that you paid. When you join SickFit Bootcamp, you are not only going to just get more fit and healthy. You become a member of a close knit community of fellow SickFitters. SickFitters encourage and push each other. You will look forward to going to bootcamp just so you can high-five the other SickFitters after a hard morning workout. Run....don't walk to join SickFit Bootcamp!
