Sipping soju while waiting for our takeout order

This is, by far, the best fried chicken place in Vancouver. Hands down. I've tried lots of other places in the city for years, and my partner and I consistently come back to bb.q. This Robson location is closest to my apartment. We have ordered many takeout orders and have also eaten in a couple times and on their patio a couple times. They're open late until midnight throughout the week and then 1 AM on the weekends, which is great because not enough places are open late. The vibe inside is like 90s retro Korea. K-pop on the tvs playing music, k-decor, and the seating all make you feel like you're in Korea. My favs are the soy garlic or the honey garlic boneless chicken, kimchi fried rice, and fries with garlic mayo or spicy mayo. Tip: if you want to try multiple sauces, you can get the golden fried chicken, which comes with no sauce, and get sides of different sauces so you can dip the chicken. Since we do takeout orders mostly, we get the golden fried chicken + sauces bc by the time we get home and reheat the food, the chicken has lost some of its crispiness if there is sauce on it already. Still delicious, but we prefer the golden fried option bc it keeps the chicken crispier. So if you're going to order takeout, I would recommend that option. The photo is after we placed our takeout order. I sipped a bottle of soju while we hung out and waited for our order to be ready (their orders typically take 20ish min). Hanging out on the patio when the weather is nice is also fun. Save the uber/doordash/skip fees, order directly with them, and go pick it up. You can chill for a bit while you wait. Highly highly recommend if you want a) the best fried chicken in Vancouver, or b) you're wanting to try Korean fried chicken and other fun Korean foods in an authentic Korean atmosphere.

Well, it turns out the best wings in the city are right across the street from me. In fact, they're probably the best wings I've ever had. bb.q offers a variety of wings and boneless chicken, plus quite a few other dishes. I tried the Gangnam Style Chicken and the Caribbean style. Both were excellent. The former had a wet, spicy, slightly sweet sauce, while the latter was more of a Jamaican Jerk preparation. I loved how crispy the coating was around the succulent chicken meat, and the pepper coating was just the right spice level. Truly extraordinary wings! Service was friendly. You order at the counter, and then there are inside and outside seating areas. Note that because the wings are cooked to order, it takes awhile, so allow time. Better yet, enjoy a beer or sake while you wait.

My friend and I were hungry and I suggested this place, as I've been before in the US. We shared combo B which came with 3 flavors: original, soy garlic, and cheesling. It was filling and definitely large enough to share between 2 people! So quite a good deal. The flavoring could've been a bit stronger, but the crispiness was perfect. This location id also say had a smaller menu compared to other ones I've visited in the past, but there are still plenty of options to choose from. All in all, friendly service and a great place for a quick bite to satisfy a fried chicken craving. I'd give closer to 4.5/5 overall :)

The fried chicken is so good that we always finish them so fast. We ordered the Classic Fried Chicken, and they are so fresh and tender!!

Super delicious! Definitely the best Korean Fried Chicken in the Robsob area. The chicken was juicy and flavourful, and the fried potatoes were really good too! The owners were also extremely welcoming. Will definitely be back to try bone in chicken! Come give this place a try!

Bb.q chicken never fails to disappoint me when it comes to KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). The chicken is super fresh, and the portion is huge! This is my goto place when it comes to kfc! Great take out super fast & efficient!

If you're next in the mood for Fried chicken & Tap Beer on Robson St, bbq chickens is the place for you! Excellent atmosphere and friendly staff. Amazing Korean food and Fried chicken! Their chicken is exceptional, and is a great spot to go to with friends or a group if you are looking for a fun spot to hang out! Crispy and juicy even ordered takeout. My favorite is Honey Garlic chicken & Rose Dukk-bokki. Good pairing with Peach SOJU Location is near English Bay which is perfect.

I always come here when I miss Korean snack food. Friendly service and great taste and quality are the reason why I come here. And there is a happy hour, so the price is reasonable!!

I dream about their lemon fried chicken every night. Sweet, sour, savoury, crunchy, tender, and not greasy - it's perfect.

A Gastronomic Awakening in Chinatown! You don't truly know…read moreuntil you go--and now that I've been, I'm haunted. As I write this, I am literally still dreaming of the Hong Kong Style BBQ Pork. It didn't just "eat" well; it dissolved into a decadent, sweet, fatty puddle of pure bliss. Walking in, the vibe is quintessential Chinatown: a bustling counter, a glass case showcasing glistening roasted treasures, and a seating area that trades fancy decor for pure, functional authenticity. We were clearly out of our element, probably looking like deer in headlights, but the staff met our confusion with warm smiles. Then came Bobby--the absolute heart and soul of this place. We walked in expecting the standard American-Chinese routine, but Bobby whisked us away to a cozy table and treated us like family. He started us off with a fragrant jasmine tea so naturally sweet and floral it didn't need a grain of sugar--perfect for a biting winter night. While we flirted with the Happy Hour menu, Bobby took the reins. You don't say no to a man with that much charisma and passion! On his expert recommendation, we pivoted to the Two-Meat Combo (BBQ Pork + Soy Chicken) with a side of their famous Roast Duck. The food arrived in a lightning-fast 10 minutes, but the real treat was Bobby's play-by-play on how each dish was prepared. You can taste the pride in every bite. The balance was masterclass: a symphony of sweet, salty, and umami. The meats were succulent, the skins were shattery-crisp, and the glazes were perfectly sticky. The undisputed heavyweight champion, however, was that Hong Kong BBQ Pork. Imagine the best "burnt ends" of your life, drenched in a caramelized, mouth-watering sauce that demands your full attention. We left Chinatown BBQ feeling more than just sated--we felt enlightened. If you're looking for a "one in a million" meal, let Bobby order for you. You won't regret it.

The char siu and soy sauce chicken were both cooked perfectly, moist and flavorful. The green scallion sauce was not necessary but it was still delicious ! Would've been great over rice. The extra fatty char siu the server gave me to try was over the top! Perhaps the best char siu I've had to date. My server, Bobby? Did a fantastic job and was very informative and I can tell he really likes what he does thru his enthusiasm

Even without the free lunch set they are super great deals with most lunch sets $20 or less. I ordered a beef toro, pork and chicken lunch combo. It was a lot of food! The lunch set comes with salad, soup, side garnishes, rice, and the three meats. I love that they clearly label each meat. The sauce was delicious and the meats generally pretty good. I loved the toro - very fatty the way I like it and cooks quickly. The chicken was very delicious and juicy just takes much longer to cook of course. The pork was only OK. It wasn't the fatty one and kind of dry. My wife loved her udon and also we got a steamed salmon. You grill it in a closed container and it was good, the salmon goes well with the ginger. Also got a green tea mochi dessert and they stick a birthday candle sparkler thing on it. Fun and good! Ordering is super easy via an iPad like thing and they are pretty helpful. Love to come back!
