Well, it turns out the best wings in the city are right across the street from me. In fact, they're probably the best wings I've ever had. bb.q offers a variety of wings and boneless chicken, plus quite a few other dishes. I tried the Gangnam Style Chicken and the Caribbean style. Both were excellent. The former had a wet, spicy, slightly sweet sauce, while the latter was more of a Jamaican Jerk preparation. I loved how crispy the coating was around the succulent chicken meat, and the pepper coating was just the right spice level. Truly extraordinary wings! Service was friendly. You order at the counter, and then there are inside and outside seating areas. Note that because the wings are cooked to order, it takes awhile, so allow time. This is, by far, the best fried chicken place in Vancouver. Hands down. I've tried lots of other places in the city for years, and my partner and I consistently come back to bb.q. This Robson location is closest to my apartment. We have ordered many takeout orders and have also eaten in a couple times and on their patio a couple times. They're open late until midnight throughout the week and then 1 AM on the weekends, which is great because not enough places are open late. The vibe inside is like 90s retro Korea. K-pop on the tvs playing music, k-decor, and the seating all make you feel like you're in Korea. My favs are the soy garlic or the honey garlic boneless chicken, kimchi fried rice, and fries with garlic mayo or spicy mayo. Tip: if you want to try multiple sauces, you can get the golden fried chicken, which comes with no sauce, and get sides of different sauces so you can dip the chicken. Since we do takeout orders mostly, we get the golden fried chicken + sauces bc by the time we get home and reheat the food, the chicken has lost some of its crispiness if there is sauce on it already. Still delicious, but we prefer the golden fried option bc it keeps the chicken crispier. So if you're going to order takeout, I would recommend that option. The photo is after we placed our takeout order. I sipped a bottle of soju while we hung out and waited for our order to be ready (their orders typically take 20ish min). Hanging out on the patio when the weather is nice is also fun. Save the uber/doordash/skip fees, order directly with them, and go pick it up. You can chill for a bit while you wait. I LOVE korean fried chicken and loved bb-q from watching K-dramas but I have to give a lower rating now. While they continue to innovate and come out with new flavours (the Galbi flavour is pretty decent - if you don't mind green onions) the ordering system has major kinks in it. The website is confusing, you first have to find a restaurant before finding an online order button hidden at the bottom. Not very friendly on phone. The last time I ordered, I got the order thru then got a call that the place didn't have the salad I wanted. If they don't have it why put it on the menu？ I asked them to just give me partial refund but they couldn't do that. They gave me full refund then asked me to pay for smaller number of items in the store. When I got to store I replaced the salad with a different one that they said they had. After they charged my card, then they immediately said they don't have jt!! Like, WTF？ So in the end I ended up being charged THREE times for my order. Just ridiculous. Not worth it. read more

Fried chicken here is crispy, crunchy, lightly battered and so flavourful. They offer a great variety of dipping sauces to keep your chicken fun to eat. The best thing is that I never feel sick after eating the fried foods here! The cheese balls are an interesting concept, but they don't taste like cheese at all. Vancouver has quite a few Korean style fried chicken places and I finally tried this one during my last trip. This might be the best of the bunch. The whole fried chickens aren't too much or too big for one person (though for two if hungry you might want to get multiple orders), plus I like that they offer steamed rice as a side dish (most places just do fries and similar). The regular recipe has great flavor and the chicken is always really juicy, even the smaller breast pieces. The price at ~$20 for a chicken isn't too bad and sides aren't priced super high either. Staff is always nice and even when I order at the counter the wait isn't terribly long. Dining space is small but inviting, and their small outdoor seating area is nice when the weather cooperates, with a view of Robson Street while not being too close to the sidewalk. BBQ Chicken despite the generic name might be the best Korean fried chicken in the West End and is probably worth a visit. read more

I was told the robson location has different menu choices than the Coquitlam (smaller menu apparently) and the restaurant space is apparently smaller as well. There was nothing particularly special about the Soy Garlic Chicken as well as the Spicy Dukk Bokki (veryyyyy spicy though, not for the faint heart).
