Very easy to get to, great parking Reasonably priced, crispy chicken. Decent service. The only thing is menu isn't that big. They got rice wine but no sweet soju. It feels a bit more like a cafeteria than a bar/izakaiya. But other than that. Great option if you are craving Korean chicken. Food 9 service 8 ambiance 8 value 8.5

New Richmond bb.q location! I first tried this Korean fried chicken chain a few years ago after watching the cast of Crash Landing on You devour the golden pieces on the show. When the plates of crispy fried goodness appeared on-screen, it was just too much; I *had* to have some... tout de suite! At the time, the only stand-alone bb.q I knew of in the area was the North Road location in Coquitlam (most of the others were operating inside H Mart supermarket locations). I remember rushing there after watching the show and ordering my own plates of crunchy morsels to get my fix. That first bb.q visit was extremely satisfying, and this Richmond location upheld the initial experience quite well. I only ordered two flavours here since I was between meals, but the chicken was just as crispy and flavourful as before. The employees were extremely nice and welcoming. There is ample parking in the lot behind the restaurant, and they are currently open until midnight every day, woo! Midnight Korean fried chicken runs FTW! Consistency is extremely important for any restaurant chain, so I'm glad this location was on par with my previous visits. Will definitely be back, next time with more tummy room!

Clean restaurant with ample space. The hostess was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. The cheesling fries were recommended and did not disappoint! My favourite was the Lemon Salad Chicken, it was flavourful and chicken was cooked so well, tender and juicy!

Great food. Large portions. We got the 3 orders of boneless wings and they all came out piping hot and full of intense flavor. We also ordered the bbq chicken over rice, It came out in nice dish and was more than enough food for a hungry pre teen. I will definitely come back when in vancouve

BB.Q Chicken serves a variety of healthy, flavourful dishes that leave you feeling full and satisfied. My party and I tried a number of different menu items to kick off their new summer brunch menu lunch, which included croffles, pizza, and sandwiches. These had chicken, seafood, and greens so you weren't left feeling overly full and greasy, but rather refreshed! Service was very prompt and our server explained each item to us as they came out, and all items came out in a very timely manner. The ambiance was casual and no-frills, which was perfect for the hot summer night that we chose to dine in. I'd love to come back and try some of their pure Korean Fried Chicken menu items, as that seems to be their specialty.

Like how they leave multiple tea pots and water on the tables. 24 items on the menu; appetizers, KFC, BBQ hot plate, rice & noodle and soup & stews. Banchan can be refilled once for free. We opted for medium spice (which was extremely mild). - Banchan - glazed potatoes (standard), kimchi (good kick) and bean sprouts (refreshing). - Seafood pancake ($25.99 large) - decent. - Chicken wings ($10.99) and boneless chicken balls ($11.99 for 7) - wings were standard, balls didn't have much of a crispy bite. - Pork bone hotpot ($37.99 small) - came with two bowls of rice. Reasonable amount of pork with a few potatoes, jalapeños and green onions. Broth was light and lacked depth. - Galbi beef short-rib hot plate ($29.99) - came with a salad. Short ribs were tender and juicy. - Bulgogi stir fried udon ($16.99) - the udon didn't have much texture, sauce wasn't satisfying. Skip it. - Seafood soft tofu stew ($15.99) - good amount of tofu but the broth was one-dimensional. Have had much better sundubu jjigae. Not bad but nothing exciting at DKC to warrant a return visit.

The dining rooms looked pretty much the same when we walked in. Even though the Elysium menu is similar overall to the restaurant before, there are currently some unique items available now (at least from what I remember, which could be incorrect since it's been a while), such as beef / fish pancakes, mala fried chicken, and sliced steak BBQ. The dishes we tried had a lot of flavour with quality ingredients, but what made our first visit to Elysium special was the staff. Everyone who helped us that night was so friendly and kind! I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking for Korean food in Richmond.

This was probably the first time I came to eat during their dinner service, as a friend was dying to go and is a frequent lover of their menu. Overall, I have to say I was pleasantly impressed with their bbq. We ordered the marinated royal beef galbi and the premium royal beef galbi. The meat was tender and delicious. Their pork belly was good, but I really enjoyed the pink pickled radish on the side. Tofu soup was hearty and spicy, but the portion is on the smaller end (serves one small bowl to 5 people). Their rice cakes were delicious - perfectly soft and chewy with various seafood and fish cakes in the spicy sauce. I've personally had better pancakes, but my friend loves their seafood pancake and says it's her favourite. The side dishes really stood out to me. There were the classics (potato, kimchi, bean sprouts), but there were also other delicious dishes that I normally don't have, such as the crab and corn salad and various pickled vegetables. Honestly, they made great palate cleansers and made the meal so much more enjoyable. Service was prompt and smooth. The total was about $50 per person, which is not bad at all considering we were beyond stuffed. I think I would definitely choose other bbq places if I were willing to travel, but Sura is a great, reliable spot in a convenient location.

After waiting an unusually long time, we finally asked about our food and only then discovered that our order had never been entered. As a result, we wasted nearly two hours of our time. What made the experience even more frustrating was that they did not serve banchan or rice while we were waiting. In Korean restaurants, it is common courtesy to provide banchan and rice so customers have something to enjoy before the main dishes arrive. Instead, we sat there with nothing. It honestly felt like they were trying to avoid refilling the unlimited banchan rather than taking care of their customers. The food itself was only average and certainly not worth the excessive wait. As a Korean, I am very familiar with Korean food and the level of hospitality that customers should expect. Good Korean restaurants make guests feel welcome even when the kitchen is busy. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. Mistakes happen, but how a restaurant handles those mistakes says a lot about how much they value their customers. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

We shared the assorted tonkatsu set which featured cheese katsu, pork katsu (tonkatsu), ebi (shrimp), alongside miso soup, cabbage, rice, and the other fixings. It's cool you can grind the sesame and have a choice of dipping in mayo or katsu sauce. Also, we added an egg for $2 (half egg, ripoff, skip skip), and hotate (scallop) - nicely battered, fresh, and sweet. I'd recommend eating the cheese katsu first thing to fully enjoy the melted cheese texture. The pork katsu is solid - the meat is quite juicy. The shrimp is huge and fresh. I docked a star off because of the service. The place is small and it's Japanese food so I expected a bit better service. When we chose to share the set, they called out they won't honor unlimited cabbage, rice, and soup, unless we specifically order 2 sets, despite us ordering extras that are close to the price of the cheapest set. Also, it takes a while to flag down a server to refill the hot tea. It's still a decent experience, but I would've been unhappy if I waited more than 30 minutes for a table because while the katsu is delicious, it's not impressive compared to other katsu spots to wait such a long time.
