I don't think the bartender was normally behind the bar, because he had to look up the recipe before making it. The cheese pizza was another highlight of the meal. It was perfectly cooked with an amazing crust, flavorful sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. It is one of those simple pizzas that reminds you how good the basics can be, and it will always be one of our favorite menu items. The only thing that did not quite hit the mark was the ranch. It could use a little more flavor and a creamier consistency to match the quality of the rest of the food. Even so, it was a very minor detail in an otherwise fantastic meal. We also knew better than to take our chances with the pizza/possible wait - even on a Monday afternoon - so we picked up sandwiches from a local deli first. I'm glad TreeHouse allows outside food because that worked out perfectly. What prompted me to write this review, though, was the cleanliness of the Tewksbury location. Unfortunately, it left a lot to be desired. I'll agree with other reviewers that the place is full of unsupervised kids. The result is that there were large smears all over the windows in at least two locations - noticeable enough that I was surprised they didnt catch the attention of the staff and hadn't been cleaned as they happened. The bigger issue was the restrooms. The two bathrooms off the main beer hall have a very strong urine odor, the kind that suggests they haven't been thoroughly cleaned or sanitized in quite some time. It was so unpleasant that I opened each door, turned around, and decided to find another restroom upstairs instead. Unfortunately, that wasn't much better. The upstairs restroom door was difficult to lock and wouldn't stay latched, which made for a pretty awkward experience. TreeHouse has built an incredible reputation for its beer, and we've enjoyed every location we've visited (some are definitely better than others). A brewery that attracts this many visitors should be paying closer attention to the cleanliness and maintenance of its public spaces. And yes, the mini sign in the lobby that suggests that kids need to stay with their parents is worthless. Please parents, remember this is NOT a pizza place that serves beer. It's a beer hall with a pizza oven.

Once we had chosen a meal package, we spoke again on the phone where she asked for some additional information (such as how many 'littles' would be part of the event) and forwarded a contract to me via email to sign. On the day of the event, there seemed to be a bit of a misunderstanding with staff on duty about the timing of our event. Our contract stated 4:30 but when people began to arrive the doors were still locked, the bar was not yet set and the coffee service not yet out. By the time we arrived from the funeral home about 5pm they had most of these things addressed. In the meantime, guests were able to purchase drinks at the restaurant bar. The room was set with seven tables of eight seats. Each table had a white cloth, silk floral center piece, flatware, cloth napkin and water glass. The room itself has high ceilings and large windows overlooking the river. A buffet station was set up at one end of the room near the bar. The staff did a wonderful job serving the buffet. Bread, butter and salad were self serve while entrée options were served by staff. Once everyone had received their food a staff member came around to each table to be sure everyone was happy with their meal. He very much wanted to be sure everyone was satisfied. The hot food remained available throughout the event and take away containers were left nearby for those who wished to take home any left overs once an appropriate amount of time had passed. Cannoli, cookies and brownies were laid out near the coffee urns (regular and decaf, along with hot water and tea bags) for dessert. About thirty minutes before departure, take away containers were left on this table too. We paid the bartender the agreed upon amount for our event before departing. All of the staff were very helpful, considerate and kind. All of our guests were very happy with both the accommodations and the meal, as were we. Salvatore's is located in a renovated mill building with shared parking. A ramp leads up to their door for wheelchair access. Gendered restrooms are located off a hallway between the entrance and the event room. The temperature inside was quite pleasant, neither cold nor hot.

They had loud live band music and the vibe here was generally an older crowd on a Thursday evening in May 2025. I found a seat next to the bar near the kitchen and after 15 minutes of waiting for someone to take my order, I walked to the cash register and waited for someone to arrive. I ended up getting one of their signature meals for the evening and that was that. Since it was close to 10pm that evening, the music was winding down. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes for my food to arrive. It came in a takeout container with a plastic bag. I would have gotten something at Boston, Logan International Airport, but it was after 8 PM when I arrived and nothing in the terminal was open for me. With that said, I was happy that the Lakeside Tavern was open for anybody and everybody who was wanting to be there. For lunch, dinner, or just hang out and listen to live music with adult beverages. For me, though, I just need dinner after a long day of travel to Boston from Honolulu. I was glad that they were until 10 PM, otherwise I would have took an Uber to see what was around at the time near the hotel that serve food. The overall experience at the lakeside Tavern here in Wakefield, Massachusetts was typically OK, although I was starving and wanted quicker service that night. For the most part though, the experience here was pretty good and most likely will come back again get my troubles permit me to do so. It is physically located at 595 North Avenue in Wakefield. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have a generous and huge parking lot for anybody and everybody who wishes to come here to stay or dine. Or both. Please share the parking spaces with a few other commercial retailers in the vicinity. There is a bank nearby, if you need cash. There is actually public transportation service to and from the hotel into Boston. I did not know this until my most recent trip here and decided to save a little bit of money and ride the local bus service into downtown Boston from Wakefield. It was pretty cool. Don't recommend it if you are traveling in the evening and don't know where you are if you are a tourist. So yes, there is public transportation options to and from the hotel, and they will depend on your original destination, whether it is the Amtrak station or Boston Logan international airport in Boston. And with that said, they have a limited menu, so be prepared for anything they have. The prices here were decent for any restaurant in the area. But if you're desperate and hungry, it's kind of worth it, especially when you're staying at the hotel for the night and you're starving. Which is what my situation was at the time. It was a quick stop for dinner that ended up being something other than quick. But if you like the loud live music to decompress after a nice day of traveling or a hard day at the office, consider coming to the lakeside Tavern for a good meal and to decompress. I'm sure they have alcohol service here, but I did not want to drink so late at night. 3.5 stars for the overall experience, mostly for the slower than normal service. The food and cupcakes were good. The added some extra touches with the food display. We had the BEST time! We had about 75 kids and the space was perfect. I would definitely use the space again if needed!
