There's a reason Kevin at Bay Electric has nothing but five star reviews. I reached out to him because I had a particularly complicated EV charger install project that other electricians said would be either impossible or cost too much to complete. Kevin was the only vendor who came out in person and gave me an honest and fair quote for what it would take to get it done. What I appreciated the most before we got started with the project is that he didn't charge me when he needed to come back a couple of times to finalize the work and materials needed, as well as ensure that he had the access he needed When he started the work, it was clear he would easily be the most experienced electrician I've ever worked with. He showed up exactly when he said he would and got the work done in exactly the amount of time he projected it would take. Even more importantly, the project passed inspection without any issues. I'd work with him again in a heartbeat and have recommend him to friends who are looking for a competent and honest electrician in the city. read more

I was recommended by a neighbor who got their ev charger installed by Kevin and decided to reach out to get mine done too. I don't have a good idea of what's work is required to install an ev charger in a multi family housing garage that has concrete so I almost reached out blind. Except for the fact that I had an idea on the type of charger I want and that getting the city electrical permit wasn't enough, I had to send in the application with our HOA. When I reached out and told Kevin I had interest as I was looking to purchase an EV, I felt no pressure from him to get the job done asap or to sign a contract with him or anything. He was super laid back and explained everything to me in great detail based on the info and videos I sent him and told me what we could be estimating for cost based on the previous job he did in the building but told me to reach out after I finalized the purchase of my vehicle. I really like that because folks who don't pressure you typically know they are good and don't need to pressure anyone to get business, and that's true with bay electric. On the other hand, it's also a lot more pleasant to not deal with naggy people. Anyways, when the time came, Kevin came by to do the actual measurements and walked me through the overall process of how this was going to go. After the in person walk through, he even found a way to save me money on the wiring, it was over $1,000 in savings and no quality lost. He just found an easier way to pull the wire through a wall without going through concrete. Hence the cost savings. Even though he estimated 3 days, he finished before that AND he was all by himself! This guy is a pro. We have been happily using our charger and have ZERO issues. We are definitely very happy to have gone with bay electric for our EV installation. read more

We worked with Kevin on an EV charger installation. He was great. We had a slightly complicated setup with two boxes and a solar roof. He talked us through all of our options and helped us choose the most cost effective. Great communicator, timely, excellent work--what more can you ask for. The job took less time than he originally estimated so he even gave us a discount. Thanks Kevin! read more

Have you lost all faith in humanity? Are you convinced that every repair person is overcharging you? Well, perhaps Bay Electric can change your mind, because Kevin seems like both a kind and entirely decent electrician. I called about a circuit that was out in my house- which I'd tried to reset several times. Kevin told me not to waste my money on something I could fix myself. Over the phone, he walked me through how to properly reset the switch (push it to off HARD till you hear it click!) and then reset the GFCI outlets. Kevin could have made some quick and easy money off of me. But he chose not to, and saved me several hundred dollars and a good deal of headache in the process. Would you believe he called me an hour later to see if it had worked? Happily, yes, the lights were on and the fans were fanning! It may seem strange to review somebody who did not actually perform a service, but I would disagree. Bay Electric taught me something useful, which was a service in itself. Pay it forward and reward honest people like this with your business. read more

I spoke with Kevin earlier in June about installing an EV charger and sought his advice since it was my first time getting one. He was very responsive and offered excellent guidance. Fantastic electrician and human being. I recommend Kevin's service. I had my EV charging unit installed, and it looks amazing. The level of detail in his work is by far one of the best works I have seen. He explained things in great detail, showing me his experience level. Knowledge is power! I am glad I went with him, and I would tell people to stop looking and go with his service. Thanks for the work again and the friendly conversations! read more

Kevin is great! Very helpful communication leading up to the job as well as getting the job done well.

I can't say enough about this company and the owner, Kevin. I was experiencing some issues after another electrician came out to do a job. Kevin came out, made sure everything was safe and didn't even charge for the visit! I will be sure to use this company for all my future electrical needs. It's so nice to work with honest and reliable people! read more

I found Bay Electric and Kevin on the Tesla website as an suggested service provider. I was quoted $1200 to install the wall charger (not including the charger itself). Upon getting to the property, I was told that my main was full so I would have to relocate some breakers to install a sub. No matter -- I wanted the charger in. Fortunately, there was a small subpanel in the truck so we could complete the job right there and then. The total cost came out to $2000. While the price seemed pretty reasonable up front, it conveniently did not include a permit. Moreover upon putting in my solar a few months later, DBI said I needed to re-wire from the main to the sub because Bay Electric had put in the wrong gauge. So long story short, that was another couple hundred to a different electrician and another day that I had to stay home at work. Overall the work was fine and came in at a lower cost for quotes but this shouldn't be difficult to any (licensed) electrician to perform. read more

I contacted BAY ELECTRIC in SF several weeks ago to fix/repair the long fluorescent light tube & fixture in the garage. Keven, the owner, responded, explained the problem and replaced/fixed it and cleaned up the area under the fixture where he was working. He also replaced a light switch in the kitchen. Years ago I had an electrical box with a timer installed in the garage to power a small deck. I needed to have someone re-route the power off of the timer and direct it to the existing gray electrical power box on the deck. Two days ago I called Kevin at BAY ELECTRIC in SF to do the job. He was unable to come out but offered to send Yoni who also works at Bay Electric. Yoni arrived promptly when he said he would. I showed him what needed to be done. I offered him the ladder in the garage. When he was finished he returned the ladder to its proper place and made sure the area under he was working was clean. Yoni also checked the gray electrical box on the deck to make sure everything was working correctly. I am extremely pleased with both Kevin and Yoni and their work ethics. They are prompt, polite, professional and friendly to talk with. It's the little things in life that mean so much to me. I am confident now that Kevin & Yoni from BAY ELECTRIC in SF are at the other end of my phone call if/when I have any and all electrical issues in the future. Thanks guys! Pat read more

"Wow!" is not enough to say how ETHICAL Kevin the electrician is. I mistakenly left a portable heater on then used a blow dryer at the same time...you guessed it....tripped the circuit breaker. Power out instantly. I then tried to reset the breaker but it didn't work. I called Kevin because of the great reviews on here. Told him the problem. He then asked me to text him a picture of the circuit breaker panel. After looking at the picture, he told me exactly what to do over the phone. Then Voila! Power came back on. He told me he is not someone that will come out for a job knowing it's something the homeowner can do safely. He refused to take my money when I offered to pay him something because he spent his valuable time on the phone with me. Kevin saved me a few hundred dollars, and most importantly, he has gained a new grateful loyal customer. Thank you, Kevin! read more

If anything, the positive reviews understate how great Kevin is. We communicated by email and text so that I could show him the area where I would need to install my car charger, but I didn't communicate how difficult it would be to get from the electrical panel to my garage. Undaunted, Kevin tried everything he could until he succeeded, including going out to get the correct drill bit. He saved me over $1000 that it would have cost to have someone come in to do the drilling and he completed the job successfully and honored his original estimate, which I thought was fair to begin with. A great experience and my car is happily charging in the garage now, thanks to Kevin's excellent service. read more

Recently purchased a Tesla (!) and needed a 14-50 Nema outlet installed in the garage. I got another quote from another electrician who told me he needed to also upgrade the panel since it was outdated and dangerous to work on. Kevin came in and confirmed it was outdated, but actually not that dangerous. I felt like he was much more honest and came in ~25% less than the other electrician. I really appreciated his candid and friendly personality. They did awesome work and arrived when they said they would (8am - one minute early!). While upgrading my panel, they were able to provide me with temporary power so I could work/have WiFi. Bottom line: Recommend Kevin & Bay Electric Crew. read more

Kevin did a great job installing a Tesla Universal Wall Connector (provided by us) in our garage. He arrived on time and answered every question I had with patience and knowledge. He also explained to me the safety considerations behind choosing to go with a 50A circuit for the EVSE since our house is quite old with 100A service. Definitely would recommend Kevin to others looking for an EVSE installation. read more

We quickly needed a new outlet installed in the garage of our 1940's house to power the internet service being installed in a few days. Bay Electric and Kevin were able to provide an estimate based on video and photos, and were able to fit this job between others so it could be completed within our limited timeframe. I needed some indoor electrical work done and to install an EV charging outlet in my garage. After taking some pictures, Kevin provided a quick quote and was able perform the work within the week. Since he focuses on the EV chargers, he referred me to his previous partner Yoni at Empire Electric for the indoor portion. To our surprise, my electrical box didn't have the space it looked like it did, but he worked around it with a modified breaker. Everything looks great and he even offered some helpful advice on some structural improvements I might want to look into. All around a great experience. read more

Just got off the phone with Kevin; I had some questions regarding an installation done by another company (who shall remain nameless). Kevin quickly and graciously helped me determine that, not only had the company failed to install the correct NEMA 14-50 outlet, but that they had also neglected to install the correct (and potentially lifesaving) 50A GFCI circuit breaker. After chatting with Kevin for over an hour and texting him numerous photos I can genuinely say I thoroughly regret not having him do the job in the first place ‍ Thanks Kevin! read more

Kevin was great. Communication was on point and was on-time for the job. If you want a trusted electrician, this is the one to go with.

Kevin Valerio of Bay Electric is now my go-to person for all matters electrical. When one of the circuits on a vintage breaker panel at my building failed and wouldn't turn back on, it seemed the whole panel might need replacement. Kevin came over and did a careful, thorough investigation of the breaker panels and electrical outlets throughout the building, fixed the problem on the spot, and charged me nothing. This involved schlepping up and down three flights of stairs several times and assessing the complicated arrangement of main panels on the ground floor of my 1939 building. Kevin also gave me helpful information on upgrades I might need down the road. He is exceptionally capable and ethical, and I will certainly be hiring him as new issues arise in this older building. read more

They replaced an electrical panel in my house. We needed to add some more breakers to the panel and there was no room in the old one. Installation of the new panel was quick and easy even though I was hoping to avoid the additional expense it seem to be the only option. The person who did the work came on time, kept the room he was in clean and did a good job. I have no complaints and will probably use them again if ever need an electrical work done in my house. read more

Last night, Bay Electric saved me $150 plus the cost of ordering a pizza. I was about to cook dinner, and when I went to turn on the oven, I realized there was no power. I went and checked the fuse box and found everything looked normal. I flipped some switches and went back to the oven, and still nothing. It was only one side of the kitchen, weirdly. So I called Bay Electric, talked to someone amazing whose name I didn't catch, and then at his request, texted a photo of my fuse box. He called me back and told me that I just needed to find some switch "test" and "reset" on the correct outlet and that would probably take care of it. He stayed on the phone as I tried every one in the kitchen and... ta da! Magic - it worked. I cooked my dinner (Arizmendi dough homemade pizza) and agreed to write a yelp review because that's what I call good service! read more

I am SOOOOOO glad I called Bay Electric regarding an inspection of my condo building's electrical system that our new insurance company was requiring. Kevin was traveling, but still got back to me ASAP -- he was super responsive, easy to deal with, and a straight shooter.
