I have a older Samsung S4 cell phone and the battery is getting old (it's the second battery). It's one of the older models where the user can change the battery. I called around and googled and nobody seems to have a replacement except Amazon and this place. Amazon can't be trusted, on multiple occasions I've bought "new" stuff that turned out to be years old and no good. This place has brand new S4 batteries (and in stock!) and you can see that they aren't old stock that has been sitting on a shelf since the phone was new... I bought one for $39 and installed it... all of my phone weirdness and misbehavior is gone and it now lasts 2 days instead of 4-5 hours. read more

I don't know if it is because my wife and I look young but the employee totally ripped us off. We were kindly greeted with a "Hello! How can I help you?" To which we responded by we needed new batteries for our key fobs. He asked to see our keys and took our key fobs to the service desk without explaining any pricing or what he would be doing. Did not ask for our consent to replace the battery or tell us what type of battery we wanted/needed. About 5 minutes he goes to the cash register and says it's $12 for replacement and installation fees. We were surprised to see such a price because the batteries on the wall advertised $3.57 and because we never asked him to replace our batteries nor install them. My advice: if you go here is to know what you want and ask for it yourself. Don't give them anything unless you know what service is going to be done and for how much. read more

Went in last Sunday, my car battery was low since I haven't been driving my second car much because of the pandemic. Robert was the person helping me out, he tested out my old battery first and recommended charging it, since I don't have an indoor garage nor a place to charge my car I couldn't do it myself, he also offered to charge my battery but it was also going to take a bit of time which I didn't have so I just decided to purchase a new one. He installed it for me pretty quickly, even though getting access to my car battery is not easy, he was very professional. I was in and out of the store in 10 minutes with a new battery installed. If I cold give less I would. These crooks took a battery of mine to charge up and said to call back the next day. I still purchased a new battery from them, that day, as I needed to move the car and if the battery didn't accept a charge, I didn't want to drive back to buy another battery a day later. A day later we spoke and the store told me that the battery is totally dead and didn't accept the charge. They said they would throw a $10 core charge credit back to my credit card. I told them not to do that, I would rather pick up the battery They seemed surprised an asked what was I going to do with a dead battery. I had a strange feeling they were lying to me. Long story short, I brought the battery back home and threw it on my charger and it's fully charged. Batteries Plus lied to me in an attempt to keep my $200 Odyssey PC925 battery. This review is long overdue, but I just wanted to sincerely thank Robert at Batteries + Bulbs (Brea) for his customer service and thoughtfulness. We had been having a lot of trouble with our ADT alarm panel and it was eating up our batteries left and right. We had been purchasing them from Amazon (our first mistake!) and we finally called Batteries + Bulbs for help. Robert was so responsive and was able to whip up a new battery for us very quickly. In the end, we actually did have something wrong with the ADT panel and it wasn't the battery, but we're sure glad to know Robert is there if we ever have other battery problems. Robert, the guy who works at batteries plus is so amazing and informative. He really is an expert. I have broken my iphone screen 4 times and he has always been great and timely about fixing my screen. He knows alot regarding phones batteries and even garage door buttons. He is quick to examine everything thoroughly to determine if the problem is with the battery or the device. If the problem is not the battery and he cant fix it then he is informative in giving you information on how to fix it or where to take if its beyond their scope. Only give them 2 stars because their work was really good. Now if we go for customer service, cannot give them any stars. Took my iPhone in to have the cracked screen fixed, got there at 1:51 and was told it would be done for sure by 3:00. Sat in front of the store from 2:30 to 3:00, went in and was told he got very busy ( now remember I was sitting in front of the store) and would need another 45 minutes. When I asked why someone did not call the cell number I gave them, well really no answer. The man I assume was the manager had nothing to say either. I rate places on customer service my time is just as valuable as theirs and I at least deserved an apology, which did not happen. Great store and great customer service. I purchased some Rechargeable batteries about a month ago. I installed them a week latter, after which my transmitter and receiver would not work correctly and the batteries would not last long, the units appeared to be broken. I went back into the store and Robert went way out of is way, 1st testing my old batteries, then disassembling my units, testing them both, including my charger. That was not a complete lie but it wasn't the right one for my phone went back and one employee tried to convince me that it would work, obviously I was not going to pay $40 for the wrong battery well took three trips to get the right battery (not original) needless to say I will no longer take my business there. This was my last stop on a wild goose chase to find a 4.8v 2000 mah NIMH battery replacement for my ADT alarm touchscreen control panel. After 3 phone calls to customer service, ADT said it would cost $140 to send someone out to replace the battery. Well, I decided to take matters into my own hands and ordered one off Amazon. Fail. The connector was not compatible. I also checked Home Depot and Radio Shack with no success. The Radio Shack employee recommended Batteries Plus Bulbs in Brea. DEAD CAR BATTERY SOLD HERE!!! I bought a battery here on Dec 2015 shortly after Christmas. The night before I bought the battery my car wasn't starting, so I called my insurance company and they sent a guy to jump start my car. The guy ended up telling me that my battery needed replacement. The next day I searched for where I can buy batteries online and I found this place nearby which I thought was convenient. BIG MISTAKE. I went home installed the battery which is pretty simple given the proper tools and my car again would not start. Christmas had just past and I could not afford to get my car towed to a shop to see what the problem was so I decided of putting my car from getting fixed for a while. It has been 1 month and a half since I bought that battery. Now with some extra cash, finally I can now get my car fixed. At this point I'm thinking there has to be something wrong with my car cause the battery was new and I'm speculating it could be the starter, etc, etc. So, I get my car towed to a shop that my friend highly recommended. I stay for about 20 mins and they finally get to my car and the first thing the mechanic checked was my car battery. He told me my battery was DEAD. I was in disbelief and told him that is impossible and that was a new battery. I explained to the mechanic that it might be another problem like electrical or something cause my radio and even the remote control for the car would not work as soon as I changed the battery I bought from Batteries Plus Bulbs. He showed me that it was only charging 7 out of 12, whatever that meant. So I called Batteries Plus Bulbs a few times to explain the situation and they too were in disbelief and wasw very defensive in saying it was impossible for the batteries to be dead and that they don't sell dead batteries. My mechanic had batteries laying around and he tried out the battery on my car, to my surprise the car started with no problems. My mechanic told me this battery is bad and I need to get a new one or get an exchange. So I called Batteries and Plus Bulbs for the 3rd time and told them I was bringing in the battery back cause it was bad. The guy again on the phone was very defensive saying that was impossible and that they go trough that type of battery all the time having it in STOCK and there is no problem with it. I get to the store and at this point I am very upset about this whole situation. The inconvenience of being sold something DEAD is no fun at all. In my mind I can just go there and swap the batteries and I could take the $50 hit that is going to cost me for getting my car diagnosed in this shop. When I get there an employee who help me when I bought this battery came to the front desk, honestly really cool guy I didn't get his name though. He told me there is a warranty and they would have to charge my battery for 2 days and find out if there is anything wrong with it. He also mentioned my battery was now charging at 2 instead of 7 like how my mechanics showed me. Hearing that made me more upset cause this is becoming more of a hassle. Not only did these guys sell me a DEAD BATTERY, I am wasting my time now driving back and forth to see if there is something wrong with a battery that should have been brand new and in perfect working condition when I bought it. I asked for the store owner who happened to be there and it seemed he was well aware of the phone calls and the situation. He came at me very defensively and upset when I told him I was sold a DEAD BATTERY. He said that was impossible and was visibly upset cause I saw him shaking when I said that. He got very confrontational when I asked for a refund or a new battery, giving me bad customer service. I informed him that I will be filing a bad Yelp report and will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. He recited his information as quickly as possible when I asked for it, he did it in a manner where you can tell he was acting like he didn't care but you can tell he was upset that I was going to report him. I asked him if I could borrow a pen to write down his name (Scott Carsrud) he told me, "I already told you". He then walked to the front desk gave me a pen and insulted me saying, "you can even keep the pen". Now this guy is being very rude at this point and all I could do was point out how mad he was cause he was shaking, honestly I was getting ready just in case he threw a punch hopefully I would be able to move out of the way. I told him just give me a refund or give me a new battery cause I do not ever want to deal with this guy again. He then mentioned there is a 14 day return policy in his store, he now looked happy that I wasn't able to get my money and kinda smiling being immature about it. I tried to exchange the battery but its not in stock which means they lied to me on the phone saying earlier that they go trough and carry that battery all the time. Took my dead Neuton lawnmower battery to Batteries Plus. They had the exact product I needed and compared to buying it through Neuton, I saved about $75. But the exceptional part of this visit was the service. Robert took the time to show me how to disengage the battery pack and connect the new one. Actually, he did everything. I went in to buy a battery for my watch, even though the battery was low the watch was still ticking with movement. The owner asked to see my watch and proceeded to open it and took a screwdriver to the back of it. Needless to say he immediately broke the delicate swiss battery connector on my $500 watch. He handed the watch back and said, "No ticky", as the dial no longer would move with either battery. He then showed me with a voltage meter that the new battery was good and my watch was bad. He did not offer to fix it at that time. I went to a specialty watch repair place and they found the broken metal connecter fallen into the watch and showed me it was snapped off. The cost to fix $75... Long story short, I called Batteries Plus corporate and after some finger pointing and phone tag they had the owner write me a check which I picked up from the owner. The entire event was very inconvenient and I was not compensated for my time in dealing with corporate and driving around having my watch repaired. I would not recommend this place. read more

He was extremely patient with me, explaining clearly my different options making sure I understood each one. This was quite a large project requiring some trouble shooting and extra labor. They had a battery...they charged it ahead of time so I was good to go! The price was reasonable and it came with a year warranty! I called the establishment and asked if I would be charged for the diagnostic if I schedule an appointment due to a suspected battery issue on my smart phone. The guy on the phone asked me the type of phone and I began to explain the reason why I thought it would be a battery issue. I asked him if I would be charged for the diagnostic if I made an appointment in the beginning of our conversation and he never answered it. He began to check if they had the battery in stock and told me he didn't. I repeated what he said to confirm and I began to ask my first question again, "So will I be charged for the diagnostic?", and as I was saying that he cut me off saying, "hello, hello," in a rude way to have me stop talking so he can talk to say since they don't have the battery in stock call other locations to see if they have it in stock. I would partially understand if he was cutting me off because I was trying to ask another question, but if he never answered my first question... I am going repeat it again because my question clearly went through one ear and out the other. Secondly, his demeaning tone saying "hello," to cut me off is not a good way to talk to a perspective customer. If I could give this place a zero I would, especially for their customer service. This place lost a customer and I will make sure I do not recommend any friends/family to this place, as well as the reason why. Management needs to have their employees go through customer service training again. read more

The first try the batteries that they used were ones that the width tolerance was at the high end and the battery would not fit. However, they ordered another set and tried again to great success. Normally, a highly judgmental, decidedly UN-friendly, 'crabby old man' who should be kept locked in a dark room (and certainly not let out in public!) I happened upon this B+B when forced to locate/purchase replacement truck batteries. After exhausting the local B+B's (who DID NOT have the batteries I needed in their inventory), I phoned the Brea store and spoke with Robert. Long story short, I took the 80 mile RT (OW) and made the purchase. He removed my old batteries, installed the new ones all within the course of 20 minutes. Incredible customer service. Bought laptop battery from them about a year ago, which recently went kaput. Walked in without receipt, but they still had the original order in their system, so I was covered by warranty. They took the battery, tested it, found out it was well-and-truly dead, and (after a little confusion about giving me the wrong replacement order) replaced the battery at no charge.
