I rushed to this location after work. I arrived 20 minutes before they closed. I needed the batteries for 3 car key fobs replaced. The associate that helped me (I'm sorry I didn't get his name) was WONDERFUL. He was so kind and patient with me. The battery in my wife's Toyota 4Runner died and I was able to go online to Batteries Plus website, buy the correct battery, get a 10% discount for doing so and then drive over to the Brea location and pick it up. Cheaper than the auto parts stores and a better warranty for the price too. The sales guy was very nice, helpful, double checked everything and I was on my way with the new battery. They offer to install it also. This is my 4th battery from this place (two in quads, one in a tractor and this one). Super convenient and always have what I am looking for. read more

It's a franchise chain - owned by a franchisee - which is good for customer service - along with larger buying power for pricing and inventory available. Tools, computers, phones, watches, remotes, batteries that keep memory in all types of items - they have it - and help install them at no charge. They took care of me right away at the front counter. From what I've observed they have a lot of quality "after market" batteries such as Duracell. If something goes wrong they're close enough to make exchanges right away - as opposed to an online return - I see that as a big plus. In addition, they're open 7 days a week - with 12 hour days M-F. They have some device repair services available, like cracked screens etc. - Have not used those services. Good customer service on the phone and in the store. You can message the business from Yelp also. Maybe I could search out a little better deal for an OEM battery, but knowing they'll take care of any issues on the spot makes me a big fan! read more

I actually came in here for a light bulb. The one I had for my daughter's room was too bright/blue, and after trail and error I decided to go here. Brought my bulb in and was shown about 4 different options from what I described I needed. Found a soft yellow bulb as a solution and was set... well so I thought. Then I remembered I needed batteries for her toys. Bam! 24pk of USA made AA's for $10, can't beat that! They have batteries for everything here I tell you. Even USA made Duracell car batteries! My husband took our Honda key to have the battery replaced. They were quick to change it but at the same time they also lost the chip that goes INSIDE the key! When my husband went back to the car it wouldn't start. So thinking it was out of gas, he went to fill a gas can and fill the tank. When it still wouldn't start, he realized it may have been mechanical so my husband had the car towed to the nearest shop and was then told it was a chip issue and the chip in the key was missing. When he went back to the battery store asking where the chip is, they first claimed they didn't know what he was talking about. My husband pointed out the employee who changed the batteries in the key and they went on to say it doesn't come chipped, talking about the motherboard and denied having anything to do with the key. It CLEARLY does. They offered to "search" for the chip but then gave us a "courtesy call" and said they could not find it. Obviously it does come with a chip because the car was operating to get there to get a new battery and wouldn't operate AFTER the battery was changed. When my husband told them he wasn't looking for anything for free but was now quoted over $300 for a new Honda key because of the chip this business lost, he asked what they were going to do. They basically said "nothing, have a nice day" and never took responsibility for their mistake. Not even a sincere apology. And sometimes a sincere apology goes a long ways. So here we are, $300 later waiting for the new key, with a non-operating Honda because this business wasn't responsible changing out a $9 battery. read more

Prices are twice what you can expect to pay at EBay or Amazon. I was expecting for the batteries to have an expiration date at least 2-3 years into the future, but the label had "2019" on it lol. Yelp asked me to update my review. So here it goes. This place has gotten better since my last review (not like there was anything bad to begin with) which was I think 3 years ago back in 2013. There is always parking right in front of the store never had a problem with finding parking here. Inside is laid out the same. They now have bulbs. There is now a section of the store that is dedicated to light bulbs. They don't just have your normal light bulbs that you can get at the grocery store or target. They're these fancy looking light bulbs. Prices are reasonable even for those fancy looking bulbs. OK enough bulb talk. The people working there are the same. Nice and friendly they know what they're talking about. They're not the type that talk out of there asses. Long review short come here if you need batteries, bulbs, phone repairs. Oh did I forget to mention they did device repair also? Yeah I just found that out myself. They apparently use factory parts unlike those kiosk in the mall that probably gets their parts off Ebay....can you tell I've had a bad experience with those mall kiosk. I just walked into this place to see how much they charged to repair an iPod screen. An older white man I will not say gentleman because of he nasty attitude asked for the specific model. My brain drew a blank and I could come up with that it was an iPod touch. He told me they don't fix two types so I asked for an average price. 've heard of this place through a BMW X5 forum online and i kept the info for 4 years until finally my battery died and sure enough he carries all sorts of batteries. Scott (owner) is the best. He's very friendly and treats everyone right. He's honesy and not just out there to make a quick sale. He even installed my new car battery for me at no charge. I didn't even have to ask him. He automatically told me to park in the back and open up the back door to where the battery is located. He not only carries car batteries but also for laptops, cell phones, wirelrss phones, drills, children's auto powered rides, and pretty much anything that has batteries, he carries. If you go to a big box store like Walmart, Home Depot or Lowes, good luck finding anyone that knows a little something about batteries or light bulbs and the selection is great. I've purchased batteries for my Tesla and BMW key fobs and all sorts of home energy efficient bulbs. Apparently CA requires builders to include these so my builder decided to use 3 different types and sizes but this place had them all in stock. My laptop battery died for a couple years now and the only way I was able to use it was by having it plugged in at all times. It recently started becoming a hassle as my professors began requesting his students to bring their laptops to class. I needed a laptop battery asap and prior to coming to Batteries Plus Bulbs, I had called Staples, Best Buy, Office Depot, Wal-Mart and even Frys Electronics. None of these places carried the battery that I needed or had it in stock by the day that I needed. My wife Prius's 12v battery went bad and I was scrambling around to find a replacement that didn't include a hefty dealership price tag for parts and service. Found these guys through the priuschat forum and glad I did. I brought the car in during my lunch hour, grabbed an overpriced greasy burger and fries at 5 guys, and before I was able to finish, I received a call telling me it was done! What would have cost me $300+ and a couple hours at the Toyota stealership, cost $200 and 25 minutes. (Yes, Prius batteries are expensive). Excellent customer service. I live in LA, with a motorcycle as my only vehicle. It's kind of a rare bike and requires an uncommon battery which was not locally available, so I had to make a trek to Brea, CA. I had to take two busses, an Amtrak train, then another bus, that left me 3 miles from the store. I called asking for directions, and hearing my situation(and my disappointment in public transit), they sent an employee to pick me up. They even drove me back to the bus stop. WARNING .Horrible company w/ thief employees . I came here to get my iPhone 7 a screen repair . When I came back the employee told me they were unable to repair the screen because a screw was missing somewhere in the phone ... The next day I take my phone to a 2nd screen repair place and they notify me that whoever opened my phone originally had apparently did what they call a "motherboard swap" , he was able to tell because they had unplugged my flash and didn't plug it back in the process .
