I made an appointment a week in advance and arrived at 8 AM as scheduled. However, I was told it would take 3-4 hours for a simple oil change, tire rotation, and cabin air filter replacement. If the shop is that busy, appointments should be scheduled more realistically. I ended up going to another shop, and they completed everything in 40 minutes. I will start by saying I'm just a girl and I don't know much about cars. My family has gone to Firestone for 15+ years each of our cars were serviced here at one point so there's a reason for our loyalty. Today, my tire pressure light came on.my dad wasn't around to take the lead on it and instructed I bring it to Firestone. I called ahead and spoke to Christopher. He offered to check the tire pressure and extensive testing if needed. I stopped by without an appointment and Christopher was able to quickly check my tire pressure and add more air to my front tire. I felt embarrassed that I didn't think to do that on my own. Christopher reassured me that it's always best to bring it by for a check in case it's a bigger issue. 10/10 recommend!! read more

I went to get a vehicle inspection. What I got was misogyny and sexism. I was waiting in the lobby and the service representative was trying to sell a tire to a (male) customer. He stated that "if you tell a woman about a warranty it makes them feel good." He then went on and told the customer that he would have to make sure to do the maintenance on the vehicle/tires as well. I completely understand what he's trying to say, but I really don't appreciate being told that I just "feel good" about a warranty... I know how to take care of a vehicle just fine and my grandpa taught me how to change a tire, change the oil, and how to walk away from idiots. I hope you read this and understand you just lost my business. I hope you learn how to keep your mouth shut when you don't have anything appropriate to say... it would be much better for your bottom line. I truly hope women stay away from this place. Find yourself a good service rep who doesn't try to tell you how to think or what you "feel" about things. Ughhhh. They didn't have my tires in stock ( needed 2) but he was able to get a special delivery to the shop within the hour! Customer service at its finest! I went to get my car inspected for uber and lyft. In the app they say it's $20 and once you get there they try to charge you $50 and takes hours while others they do it in the spot for $20. Not recommended. read more

AVOID THIS STORE # 20591. My vehicle needed emergency driver side/left bottom ball joint replaced. The cost was unbelievably high. The quality of the service was very poor. After the costly repair my left tire started to wear on the inside. I bought new tires and had an alignment done. It's been 6 months and my new tire is showing the exact same wear. I had a mechanic look into it and he found that the ball joint Firestone installed was loose it was missing a bolt and the carter pin. Now I have to replace my rack and pinion due to the poor quality/expensive work done by this store/Firestone. Now I need two front tires and all the bushings replaced due to Firestones lousy work. read more

I came to get a California vehicle check to able to drive for a Rideshare app. I made an appointment for 11am and when I got there was a person in front of me. Once I got up to the service desk it just went down hill. I told the agent (Asian customer service representative) that I had an appointment for 11am and he gave me an attitude and advised me that he had to do some paperwork and that I could have a seat until he was finished. I visited Firestone today after scheduling and confirming an appointment with one of their associates. I arrived on time and patiently waited. While I was there, another customer walked in and mentioned he didn't have an appointment--he just decided to come in. I was curious to see how they would handle this, expecting that scheduled appointments would be prioritized. To my disappointment, after 45 minutes of waiting, they took in the walk-in customer's car before mine. That was incredibly frustrating. I went to the counter, asked for my keys back, and left. If my appointment doesn't mean anything and I'm not given priority despite scheduling ahead, then why should I give them my business? Henry at the front desk was very nice and helpful. We made some small talk with me while I waited on my car's air conditioning to get checked. He had a really good rapport with the mechanics and everyone seemed to respect each other. I came on a Tuesday at lunch and could have been seen right after the technician came back from lunch but instead I scheduled an appointment for the next day at 9am and they were ready to go right on the dot. My assessment was made in about an hour and then the actual labor took a little under an hour or so so all in all it wasn't too bad. The price was $279 which is about industry standard based on my make/model and the research I did. It was a no frills, good experience coming here. read more

I came in for a lyft driver car inspection. I was in and out pretty quick and the whole place is nice and cool and clean, there's also a restroom inside. My favorite part was the car battery where the seating area was. There was multiple phone charchers attached to that battery, so you don't have to worry if your phone's dying, you just plug it in. I do not recommend. Longtime customer here. This place used to be MUCH BETTER. When you would call, they used to pick up after a few rings, even if they were slammed. They would greet you politely and state their name...Roger, Steve, Art, Anjanette, etc...they were fantastic. If they were busy, you were put on hold, but only briefly. AND THEY WOULD SOON CALL YOU BACK. Now there are new people in charge. They don't seem to return calls for quote requests or appointment requests. I called recently after noticing my wife's front tires were showing signs of wear on the inner edges, so I called here to set up an alignment appointment. (Both front tire wear patterns are similar; see red circled area on inner edge of tire in photo below.) After a long wait, someone finally picked up and told me they were totally swamped and he would have to call me back. After waiting about 30-45 minutes with no return call, I decided I may as well just drive over and wait there, rather than get nowhere over the phone. When I arrived, to my surprise, almost no customer cars were around. One on the lift and two empty bays. No one was even near the phones. Attendant was in the garage, talking (chatting?) with the mechanics. Where were all these customers he was slammed with? Attendant came into the office and set me up for the alignment. (I don't think he had a name tag on.) When the alignment was done, he gave my keys back and mentioned I should get my front tires replaced "as soon as possible." I'm not even down to the wear bars on most of the tread yet. Curiously, my work order said: "CUSTOMER REQUESTED NO INSPECTION" I do NOT recall a courtesy inspection ever being discussed during check-in!! Had I been asked, I would have chosen the free inspection. And as I drove home, I thought: "If my fronts really are so bad, shouldn't they have offered to move them to the back and mount my nearly new rear tires onto the front?" I did not appreciate the unwarranted upsell pressure one bit. If I did not have free lifetime alignments coming, I would not be back. I can easily see why recent Yelp! ratings have taken a downturn. read more

Frank was straightforward and honest. He identified why our wheel was shaking and to my surprise it wasn't wheel balance. He balanced and rotated the tires per the original estimate and provided costs for the long term repair without high pressure sales tactics. He was polite, professional, and timely. It's too bad a few people had bad experiences but the car repair industry is a mixed bag and unless you have a moderate understanding of how to repair a car it's easy to associate one issue with an unrelated issue. Also, if you have a car that isn't maintained and over 75,000 miles you are likely going to need parts replaced and unfortunately repairs get expensive. Also, it's very possible to have more than one thing wrong with your car at a time. Hopefully you have the same experience we did but if not try to find a good mechanic you trust. Even then the best mechanics make mistakes and miss things. Hopefully they will stand behind their work when issues arise. read more

I had an incident on the freeway that necessitated replacing the left tie rod and a complete wheel alignment on my '02 Ford Explorer. I replaced the tie rod myself then brought it to a different shop who said the upper control arm had to be replaced. I called the Brea Firestone on Imperial Hwy. Manager Frank Kim quoted me $550 and about 4 hours to do the work. I was pleased with the quote and brought it in the next morning. Mr. Kim phoned me a short time after I dropped the car off and said 'all' of the bushings in the front-end needed to be replaced and it would cost an additional $150... To shorten this lengthy story, I paid to Firestone over $650.00 and the Explorer is now a death-trap at speeds above 45 mph. The car is now virtually worthless. I can't imagine a job done any worse. read more

Anyhow, we purchased a spare tire kit from the dealer, but the kit came with the tire and wheel separately. We came to Firestone to help with attaching the tire to the wheel. Scheduled an appointment through the online app for 9:00 AM this morning. Received the appointment confirmation from Firestone. I arrived at 8:50 AM and the guy behind the counter said there were six cars in front of me and he had only one mechanic. I reminded him I had a confirmed 9:00 AM appointment but he said there were six cars in front of me and I could wait if I did not mind staying a long time. I reminded him my appointment was a wait on site appointment and cannot spend the day there and left. I understand a business who has personnel issues due to COVID but a quick phone call or e-mail advising the customer of the issue is in order. It's just courtesy. I won't be back. read more

I would give them 0 or negative stars if I could. They replaced the catalytic converter and we had to take it back 3-4 times - leaving it at least a day or more. The final straw was when the car was undriveable on a Friday afternoon and wasting 2.5 hours having it towed to Fullerton Auto Repair (Shout out to Jim!!) which means we're without the car AGAIN for 4-5 days as Fullerton Auto is closed on weekends. Plus we found out Firestone charged over 5x for an aftermarket, not OEM, part!!! We took it to Firestone because it was a convenient location, but it turned out to be beyond INCONVENIENT and FRUSTRATING!! We will NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION - not even for an oil change!! read more

Took my truck in for some maintenance only to have it come out worse than when i dropped it off. The noises were louder and more noticeable and I am wondering what I spent $1900 on. Felix was extremely hard to understand when talking to and was very pressuring and was very aggressive and rude. Their was no manager on duty and as a matter of fact wouldn't be in for several days. The gentleman at the service desk had no authority to make a bad situation right. I highly recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere and avoid being misdiagnosed like I was and having to pay again to get it fixed correctly. read more

I just got back from vacation the night before and I noticed my tire was low. In the morning I went to a gas station to get air, but every station I went to there was a sign that said out of order. I was late for work and so I was getting frustrated. I pulled up to Firestone and I was greeted with a smile by a very nice man. I explained that my low tire sensor was on, but not sure what tire it was and if he had time to help me. He said no problem and had me pull my car into the first bay. He checked all the tires to make sure the tires had all the same pressure. One was way over filled and 2 were prefect, and he found the one that was the problem. Stay away from this company!!!!!!! They perform shoddy work and look for anything to upsell you on. You're better off going someplace else. If I could give them a lower rating I would. Read below for more information. To begin with, I'm not a car guy and trusted the user ratings that I found here and elsewhere to use them. Incident 1 (about a year ago) - I took my wife's car in to get new brakes installed. They upsold me on a brake system rebuild because (they claimed) the brake cams were leaking. About a week later, her brake pad came off while driving on the freeway. Apparently the mounting bolts had vibrated loose, which they claimed was due to the age of the car (I had no way of knowing this so I gave them the benefit of the doubt) Incident 2 (3 weeks ago) - I took my vehicle in to have the brakes serviced and oil changed. They mentioned that my shocks were leaking and my radiator hoses were worn out and needed replacement (I sense a running theme here) and upsold me on new shocks and hoses. All went well for a few days then my car overheated. From what I can tell, the radiator hose came off. I had it towed back and they told me it was likely an old cracked radiator that was the problem (never mind the fact that the coolant system has never given me an issue until they touched it). They replaced the radiator and I went on my way. Incident 3 (1 hour ago) - I was driving up to Palmdale for work when (surprise) my car started overheating again. I pulled off the freeway and popped open my hood and found that the radiator hose came off again, on the engine side this time. I'm currently waiting for a tow truck. This place is a joke. I normally go to Firestone Yorba Linda where people are friendly and always try to help you. I found a nail on my tire and wanted to see if it could be patched or the tire must be replaced on the way to work. There were 3 people in front of me when I got there. The first customer asked something (I did not listen to the conversation) and the person at the counter said "Are you leaving your car?" The customer said "It is a 10-15 minute job and I'd like to wait" The counter said "Are you leaving your car?" "We can't do it now" The customer said "This is ridiculous" shaking his head and left. My turn came and I asked the guy "I found the nail on the tire and it is on the border of flat surface or side. It is very hard to tell. Can you come out and check? If it can be patched, then I will need a new tire" THE guy said "Will you leave your car?" I said "If I need a new tire, then I have no choice but to leave the car right? So please come out and check it out" He doesn't reply to my answer but keeps saying "Are you leaving your car?" I was getting very frustrated... "I said if I need a new tire, I have no option but to leave the car here so that you could install the new tire right?" The guy either doesn't care or has no idea what I was saying.. In addition to that, he was very obnoxious and rude to customers. My patience ran out. He kept on asking me if I was leaving my car and I guess that is all he cared... I told him to f#$% off and left. He followed me outside yelling at me. I opened my window and told him to f%$^ off again. My car was just picked up from the dealer, barely have 1000 miles on it and has 21 inch wheels. One single tire would cost me $500. It is not the money where his attitude was just insane I did not want to waste one second over there. The place was dirty, small and not feeling confident but it had "Firestone" so I believed the franchise and went in. It was my fault as I could have gone to my Maserati dealer but it was in opposite direction. I think Firestone needs to educate employees how to greet customers properly. read more

The quality of the service has gone down tremendously. I brought my car last Friday, day after Thanksgiving for tire realignment and tire rotation service. This was no charge because I bought a lifetime warranty a few years back and bought the tires from them last March 2023. When I checked the tires' psi, it was betweem 30-33. The recommendation was 35 psi. So now, i have to bring it back to fill up the tires with air. Such a waste of time. This is not the first time simple things are being missed. Last March 2023, after a bought a new set of tires, they threw the tire pressure caps so I have to go back again to get a new set of caps ( good thing it was given for free). Again, such a waste of time. More EV cars are coming out, more car maintenance service companies are available, Firestone is going to lose its market share fast if it doesn't get its act together. read more
