It was the perfect balance of dark chocolate with the light custard in a fluffy yeast donut dough. It's LEGIT amazing! I ordered 2 boston, 2 jelly, and 2 glazed. I ordered two custom cakes from here. I think they are priced reasonably and are decorated beautifully. They look so clean and neat. I also really appreciate how easy it is to order them. Unfortunately, both times the fillings have no flavor. I'm confused. I tried funfetti which was like a whipped cream or buttercream with sprinkles so literally no flavor. The second time, I tried nutella. I literally couldn't taste it and that's usually a very strong flavor! It wasn't even like a deep chocolate; I have no idea what you used. Again, thank you for making beautiful cakes, but PLEASE work on giving them some flavor, any flavor. I ordered to eat a yummy dessert for birthday celebrations. I love this bakery. Their items are so fresh & delicious. I went in there Friday afternoon asking if they could make me a Christmas cake. Normally they need 2 days notice, but they were nice enough to do it for the following day. I got a funfetti mousse filling. So delicious. The cake was a Santa and beautiful. I hated to cut it. I have to accept that sometimes change is good. In the case of "Batter Up Bakery" it definitely was good. I came to this place for years under the old owner. I loved them because they were friendly. I don't know why they sold, maybe hard times, maybe the cost of things, or maybe just the fact that they wouldn't use credit cards, but they gave it to the right people. My brother's landlord's son was going to China for the summer. We decided a cake was in ordered. For any special occasions, we goto this bakery, but our shock when we saw it was new. The outside looked modern and fit the shopping center perfectly. Going in, the place was modern and nice. At the counter was a lovely woman, with a lot of knowledge, who helped me pick my cake. She even went over sizes and the amount each cake serves. When it was time to pay I had cash in my pocket, however, when I saw they accepted ApplePay, I couldn't believe it. I made my purchase and headed back to my brothers. We surprised him with the cake and he was overjoyed. We were all surprised however when we tried it. I couldn't believe how delicious it was. Soft, moist and creamy, this cake was impressive to say the least. My trust in this new bakery was not misplaced. I plan to go back in a week or two. I saw this bakery on Tik Tok. The TikToker was raving about it, so I thought I would give it a try. I chose a small death by chocolate cake. The cake was not good at all. It was mostly lots of thick buttercream frosting with the inside having a lot of pudding and very little cake. Frosting, pudding and cake had an odd taste and was more like a cake I would buy from grocery store at less than half the price. Thanks goodness I did not opt for the larger version of this cake. New fav local bakery. Prices are reasonable IMO. Great black and white cookies, Boston cream donuts and cheese danish. Brownie was yummy, half dunked in chocolate, more cake-y than fudge-y. The girls who work here are so nice which is a plus. Lots of premade cakes of varying sizes for grab and go, and they also sell by the slice too. Not the biggest fan of buttercream on the cakes, but that's personal preference I like whipped cream better, their chocolate mousse filling was delicious. First time I've been to this bakery and I must say it was really, really good. I got a white cake with buttercream and it was one of my favorite cakes I've ever had. The buttercream was so light and fluffy and the yellow cake was delicious, also very light. I also got an apple strudel which was great too. Their pretzel shaped dough drizzled with chocolate was just ok. I will definitely go back again to get some more desserts. read more

This bakery had good reviews so I decided to go there for some fresh french bread, the girl said she did not have that but she had itilian bread, i said ok, is it fresh ? I have been to batter up twice so far I purchased a pound of rainbow cookies apricot and raspberry for my anniversary they are my husbands favorite I also bought a Boston cream donut for my nephew his favorite and a jelly donut for my friend at work she loved it jelly in every single bite you guys knocked it out of the park home run we definitely be back in the future. Very disappointed.. got 2 MINI donuts that were 2" wide.. they were $3.50 each!!! Also got a DRY (not fresh) onion roll with hardly ANY onions... that was $1.75 understand ingredients are higher now.. but really.. can't imagine how much a regular size donut is.. read more

Boston cream are great. Over stuffed with cream. Wish the Jelly donuts would be the same overstuffed with jelly. Mini pastries very good. Large pastries were dry. The packing of my items were disappointing. The donuts were in a box to which the mini pastries should have been in. Pie box size. However they were in a loaf cake box. Difficult to take out and have a nice presentation to plate. The bakery was clean. Again an up charge for using a credit card may price them out of the neighborhood. read more

Came for the first time back when the bakery first opened. Custom ordered a cake with vanilla cake, chocolate pudding filling & whipped cream frosting. It was fresh & delicious. Their decorating skills are incredible. This will be our go-to spot from now on! We have continued to have great experiences over the past few months. It's important to know that even if you don't see something in the display cases, they are able to make certain things on request - ex: the popular Boston cream donuts. Not a big Yelper but I have to give credit where it's due: this past weekend, we hosted a family reunion at King Umberto and when I was booking the event I was told that the desserts no longer come in from Dortoni Bakery which I've always (and still do) loved. I was told that I could certainly bring in from Dortoni, but that desserts were now being handled by Batter Up whose baker used to work for Dortoni etc. I was a bit nervous as my Sicilian-American family is very opinionated about their cannoli cake (we're from Queens and Corona's Stasi was THE place for decades!) but considering I didn't have a time to pick my confections up I went with Batter Up since the restaurant would handle it all. Oh My Goodness! We were all so impressed! Truly. Moist, not cloyingly sweet or heavy. Tastefully decorated. The pignoli, biscotti and rainbow cookies (sooo moist!) were also outstanding and so SO reasonable! Some of my cousins had had three different cannoli cakes in the past two weeks because of retirement parties, and they all deemed this one the very best! I'm super impressed and can't wait to pay this bakery a visit to check out their other desserts next time we're on Long Island. This will, without a doubt, be our cannoli cake spot going forward. Ordered 2 different cupcakes, which my kids did not care for and honestly they looked like they had been sitting, they said the 2 donuts were ok. canoli was not good at all, and a fruit tart was ok, but I wouldn't drive the half hour again to ever go back. My 2 year old needed to use the bathroom, which they would not let him use!(also could not direct me where in the shopping center had one other than maybe pizza place which it was 10 in morning so it's unlikely open. the food store does if you ever run into this situation with kids) they have a table in there but doesn't look inviting to sit as there is things on table. read more

Delicious and fresh desserts. We got an assortment. The Boston cream donut was fresh and well made. The rainbow cake was authentic and delicious. I say this because it wasn't drowning in jelly and the chocolate was perfect and of high quality. Cannoli shell was crisp and filling was perfect. Overall had a positive experience. I can't believe I'm the first to review here! This place has been open for about a month and they definitely know what they're doing. The service has always been so friendly every time I go in. Most recently I tried their butter cookies, and they were the best I've had by far. The standouts to me were the plain thumbprints that make the perfect cookie to have with coffee or tea. I also had to have a gingerbread cookie since that's my go to this time of year. They had an adorable hand decorated 2D house version, that was the literal best gingerbread I've ever had.
