Seems the my menu needs to be updated but all the items I'd chosen were available. I got them bagged though bringing your own is appreciated. I was glad I had kept my old menu. The same family have owned and operated Antoni for over 60 years. Just south of the Southern State Pkwy on Broadway on the west side about a half a mile down. They make their own gnocchi with no preservatives right on site also along with other popular pastas. Massapequa is the equivalent on Long Island along Deer Park, Howard Beach to little Italy I'm the Bronx or Manhattan. You can still find a cluster of old world Italian eateries and pasta. Not to waste a trip AS Pork store is just north on the dame block for Italian Deli. Francescos bakery is on Broadway also just a bit south. So if you need your Italian fix and don't want to travel it's all here in North Massapequa. That's Italian!

Every time I visit I always grab a few pizzas to bring home and I always make sure to ask to upgrade to DOP ingredients. This place is as authentic as it gets. From the oven, which was imported from Naples, to the owner being a certified pizzaiolo, and the amount of DOP ingredients in use and available, there's a level of care and respect for Neapolitan pizza that you can taste in the each pizza. The ingredients are excellent, the crust is consistently great, the dough has the perfect chew , and nothing feels like an afterthought. Over the years they've grown in popularity and have added several new items on the menu, to include pizzas, but the ones that stay constant in my rotation are Moms, The Margareta (DOP), and the meatball with ricotta. For me, they make the best neopolitan pizza on Long Island. I also love that it's connected to the pork store next door. There's something about the whole setup that feels like a throwback to my childhood and the kind of Italian American places I grew up around that seem like there's so few of today. Going to Saverio's is more than just grabbing a pizza. There's whole experience has a warmth and authenticity to it that's increasingly hard to find...and while you're waiting for your pizza, going next door and buying some food, whether it's cold cuts, cheeses, or pasta is very much a part of the experience. Saverios is genuinely one of a few places I always look forward to visiting when I'm on the Island. You should check it out if you haven't already.

There are lots of ready-to-eat sides and meals as well, though you can shop for most anything to make great and tasty homemade dishes. The deli line can be long, however the staff is always courteous and prompt. The aisles are compact but well-organized and nicely-presented and the store is notably always very clean. Produce is especially good compared to most other grocery stores in the area. Some of my favorite pick-ups include the sliced fruit tray which consists of pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew and watermelon, the mozzarella and grilled eggplant, garnished with basil and complete with an olive oil and balsamic dressing on the side, and the potato salad which is nice and chunky and not overly mayonnaise-y tasting. The meat section has a good diversity of burger types, chicken, steak and other meats and can be purchased at the counter or meat display. Additionally, I often find a well-priced special on cleaned shrimp at the seafood counter and make sure I get some fresh broccoli and garlic for a great stir-fry or pasta dish. The cheese selection is always plentiful as well, including many different types of Italian and other European cheeses. And I cannot forget to mention the olive bar, bakery section which includes some gluten/free items prepackaged in the refrigerated section as well as an aisle for gluten-free cookies, crackers and frozen gluten-free pastas (wild mushroom ravioli is my favorite pick of the frozen foods). Additionally, the general selection of marinades and other curated culinary accoutrements is impressive.
