2-4-26. This review is for Mario's Pizza........NOT Mario's Restaurant which is literally down the block. I don't know if they are affiliated with each other, but I've visited both on numerous occasions. This pizza place is just that......a pizza lace. It has a pizza counter with a nice selection of regular and specialty slices. It has a bunch of tables to dine at but it's not an actual sit down full service restaurant. The staff is very friendly and their food is good. Today I had a chicken marsala slice which was really good. Nice flavor and pretty hearty. As with a lot of places, every now and then you get served a near perfect item, well today, it was their regular slice......Fantastic. I've had it here a bunch of times in the past and it was fine .....but today it hit just right. read more

I received a gift card with a menu attached. The menus was not for this Marios but the OTHER Marios, not realizing there are 2 Marios, I went to the wrong one and of course could not use the gift card. I went to THIS Marios to ask to swap their gift card for cash since I am not from the area and will not be in the area. The manager said ..no refunds..buy something now.. We just had my daughters sweet sixteen dinner here last night. We had the entire upstairs balcony and back room. Everything went PERFECTLY! The food was excellent (so many options to choose from!!), price was very reasonable, the service was very attentive, and the space was very pretty. We were allowed to bring in our own decorations, cake and centerpieces (though they do offer cake as part of a package) and everything went so smoothly. I ordered a pizza from here. The pizza was decent but was nothing special. I also ordered some garlic knots and the same thing. They were fine nothing special. I got Buffalo chicken slider and that was pretty good, but it was pretty small for the price. I also got a side order of penne vodka and that was very tasty but the portion was ridiculously small for what it was. Altogether the food was good. The portions were really ridiculously small and I felt like the overall value was terrible especially the penne vodka which was such a terrible portion I called and said something. They apologized but it was what it was. Not going to go back anytime soon. read more

The menu for Mario's Pizza at 659 Old Country Road in Plainview notes family owned. When I asked if it was affiliated with the others the young lady server said yes. It is a smaller store than the others with adequate selections. I ordered 4 different slices of pizza, a spinach roll and mini sausage roll costing around 20 dollars. I noticed on the wall many pictures of art done by high school students of various ages. Again, I like the fact that the local stores support the community. The menu has a scan here to earn rewards" within the scan is a picture of a pizza on it. It was a quick fix for a lunch close by various buildings and shopping. I've been coming to Mario's in Plainview for many years. I get their Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti, and occasionally sausage and peppers hero. For everything else I go elsewhere. Their chicken parmigiana is usually very good, spaghetti not so much but tolerable. But it's a little cheaper than Umbertos and Pastaeria so I go. I ordered my usual chicken parmigiana with spaghetti in a separate container. I have an injured toe so it's hard to walk. They say 20 minutes, I go in 20 minutes and it's not ready I wait and wait, two girls were chatting in the front not really paying attention, no one was helpful I had to ask multiple times about my order. There were maybe 8-9 workers laughing and speaking in Spanish, this is often how it is when I come here, no customer service whatsoever. I waited...in pain..after 40 minutes I ask them to look again. They had it ready all the time but they had spaghetti and meatballs (that I NEVER order from them I'm not crazy about their meatballs) they didn't even apologize they said it was taken down wrong but their attitude was it was my fault. The one reasonably polite young lady asked if I wanted to wait while they made it. At this point I was starving, and already waited 45 minutes. I said yes, another 15 minutes go by. No apology even for the delay! When it finally came out the cook handed it to me with a smirk on his face, again no apology even for having to wait over an hour for my dinner. I said to myself this better be good at least! No, it was not, it was messy, very little cheese and not hot! It looked rushed and I didn't like the atmosphere with everyone talking and joking in another language, it's rude.. I don't have to worry about which place to choose anymore because Mario's is OFF the list. The food isn't good enough to put up with the atmosphere and the complete lack of customer service, even if you're just waiting. read more

This place is very pretty on the outside and in, with it's own private parking lot. The dining-room is clean, but a little small, although they have 2 floors to eat on. The wait staff was exceptional, and constantly checked-in, refilled drinks, and brought my different orders out on a nice pace. The pizza was delicious, specifically the tomato sauce. My baked ziti and lemon chicken was phenomenal. Prices are very fair, the portion size is good. They do have a decent bar selection as well. I do agree with one of the previous reviewers below, as I too have been overcharged here by 2-3$. Usually I don't make a stink, but if it's happening to others, maybe they are doing this always. The pizza and pasta is consistently good. The staff is considerate and has been good about curbside pick up for those who prefer it during the pandemic. I've order from here a lot, and have tried several different dishes- they were all good. Will continue to keep ordering from here. read more

Last time we ordered from here there was a number of hairs in both of our pasta dishes. It was beyond disgusting! When calling the restaurant we were told that there wasn't a manager there to help us. No one apologized or even seemed to be mortified by what happened.
