As someone who got there a few minutes before opening at 5:30pm, they sure were hasty to take my order before even looking at the menu and waiting for my friend to get there. It just felt a little rushed when I just got there and was trying to figure out the parking situation, without having to download yet another app to pay for parking, but there was no way around it, you do! As an appetizer, we went with the shrimp shumari, soft textured and came with a side salad. I knew I wasn't going to eat much, so I went with the kids ramen, which seemed like a large portion in itself, added an extra egg, and opted for the pork instead of fried chicken. They were very accommodating which was great. Overall, decent spot and would definitely go again if in the area.

Anytime we wanted Ramen, this place was always a top 3 choice on our list. But lately, it's had a bit of a stumble. The servers are still nice, but something is missing. The Hana Chicken Karaage was very lack-luster and missing flavor. Not even breaded or deep fried, the chicken chunks were placed on a sizzle plate with some onions and broiled for a few minutes. While both Ramen orders were packed with ingredients and looked amazing, it's kind of just there Nothing terrible, but nothing really special either. We have noticed a decline for a few months, but just wanted to make sure.

One of my favorite places! Staff is always nice, the decor is great, and the best curry around. I always recommend this place to anyone who has ears. Literally got all four wisdom teeth removed and as soon as I was able to eat actual food again, this was the first spot I ran too.

Super cute spot. It's tradition in my family/culture to have noodles on Christmas Eve. We were technically supposed to have it at midnight for noche buena, but there was no way I was going to stay up that late to have noodz. This is where we ended up since it's close to where my sister lives and ramen seemed like the right thing to have since it was cold as a mother. Our party of 3 shared the dumplings and fried octopus skewers to start. I showered both with the sesame oil. So good. We all got different ramens. Sis got tonkotsu. Nephew got the one with hella butter and I got the shiawase. We all loved what we got. I feel like I ate so much yet there was barely a dent on my bowl. I ended up having to take my leftovers home. It was just as good the next day. The service was outstanding. The two guys working did a great job tag teaming.

Took my girlfriend to Batten Ramen in Fort Lee, and it definitely hit the spot! There's a parking lot nearby and off-street parking, which made getting there easy. The place is on the smaller side, but we had no trouble being seated when we arrived. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations. We both ordered the Tonkotsu Batten Ramen and it was rich and flavorful. My girlfriend had the rice and curry combo along with her ramen. The curry was absolutely delicious. We also tried the curry waffle fries, which were a tasty and unique addition to the meal. Overall, a cozy spot with great food and welcoming service. Would definitely go back again! Props to the touches of anime around the shop as well. Walked in and demon slayer was playing on the big screen.

We ordered the Ikageso, tonkotsu ramen, and soy sauce ramen. Everything was delicious! The service was great, and the restaurant was clean and lovely. We'll definitely be back!

A little shop in Fort Lee, look for street parking or municipal parking as they don't have their own lot. They have a number of different ramens and sides, plus curry and rice dishes. The gyoza had vegetable in it, and was heavy on the garlic. My little one didn't enjoy it, and it lacked the crispiness associated with a good set of gyoza elsewhere (only on the small pan-fried part was it crispy, the rest was soft and almost soggy despite being very hot - filling difference?). Hana's Karaage - soft and not crispy like the description where it said "deep fried crispy chicken dipped in a spicy shoyu)... no crispy bits, not dipped but just sitting on top of sauce. Served on a hot plate with sauteed onions, and the sauce, it was disappointing. Shiawase Aori miso, which explained to me was grilled to make it have additional flavor - I'm not a grilled fan, I guess. The chashu pork meat roll slice was too lean and dry, making it tough to eat; even soaking in the broth for a while didn't improve the texture. Miso flavor wasn't very strong, at all. The rest of the dish was ok, I should've gotten the regular miso, I think; the grilled/smoky/charcoal flavor in the soup didn't work for me. The half curry (veggie) with rice and a few pickles was good albeit overly sweet for some reason. Batten ramen, their standard tonkatsu, was ok. Rich pork broth and thinner noodles, it was salty though. Spicy Batten / Tekkamen - different kind of spice, which was more of a burning spicy that didn't sit well with me, and because of the oil, lingered. Same thinner noodle, others might like it this way, but I'll pass on this one. Not salty enough initially, but I think that was the spice and oil talking; then saltier later towards the bottom of the bowl. They do have all the condiments you could wish for, though. Haven't seen such a broad selection since I was in Japan. Service for water and coming over to clear plates was good. Overall, I've had better ramen at Santouka inside Mitsuwa, and better savory curry even making that at home. They do take credit card (3.5% fee to do so) now.

We came on a Saturday night and they were pretty packed. We wrote our name down on the waitlist and waited about 15 minutes for a table for two. The place is small and the tables are pretty close together. Our ramen was pretty good. My favorite was the curry which you can order on the side with your ramen.

I've been coming to Batten Ramen for over 20 years, even before they moved to Main Street. I'd have to say i've been here more than 50 times in my life. This is my favorite ramen spot and there has never been a time where I was disappointed here. The servers are very nice and the ramen is always so good. The chicken karaage and edamame are great appetizer options. I would suggest the ramen/curry combo. They give you a full size ramen and a half portion of curry rice on the side for a good price. This is a very well ran business and I am very happy/satisifed every time I dine here!

Always reliable and always tasty bowl of ramen in the fort Lee area. Our standby are the miso ramen and the tonkatsu ramen. The miso ramen has slightly thicker wavy noodles that's cooked to al dente. The soup is not overly salty but still rich in miso flavoring. The noodles are complemented with an assortment of garnishes like corn, bean sprouts, green scallion and Japanese pickled vegetable. If you are looking for a more subtle flavoring go with the regular pork tonkatsu ramen. The noodles are much thinner providing a completely different mouth feel. The soup is subtle but still filled with flavor. The only issue is the pork chasu, while I appreciate the thick cuts of meat but it just feels a little overwhelming. Some might like the chunky feel of the meat. Our other standby is the fried chicken - the karage. Perfectly fried and chicken is still tender. If you get the 1/2 curry or 1/2 fried rice u can eat that with the chicken as a separate meal. Can't go wrong here. Check it out when u are in the area.

I got a ramen and it was so delicious and filling! Flavor of the broth was strong and the noodles were the perfect texture. Small store, but amazing overall!

So grateful they were opened on New Year's Day. All the tables were taken when we arrived, so we added our names on the waiting list (2nd group). We waited about 15 minutes before several groups of people left, however, we had to wait another 20 minutes to be seated. No sure what took so long when 3+ tables were empty. Once we sat, service was prompt. We ordered their gyoza, miso ramen (+ extra noodles), and their shoyu ramen. We were surprised how small the gyozas were, and tasted more dumpling skin than filling. The broth of the miso ramen was better than the shoyu ramen. The clear shoyu ramen broth wasn't too flavorful. We were also surprised by the chasiu which was very thickly cut, and also not flavorful.

There is always a wait, and clientele is a mix of older Korean looking for taste of home (like me) and new younger crowd who knows a good thing when they taste it.
