The older I get, the more I resemble Larry The Cable Guy, so I guess it should come as no surprise that I find myself clothes shopping at Bass Pro Shop. I've been to other franchises of the chain and have always marveled at the sheer scale of this retail operation. Probably ranks up there as best place to hide out and loot during an impending worldwide zombie attack. I was drawn here by their advertised sale on polo shirts, which were a great value at around $13 a pop. Of course, these were the lowest quality of all of the polo shirt selection on hand, so I just bought one, but I threw down a little extra cash for some other better-quality shirts. I liked the color palette they offered, unlike my experience at other retail clothing outlets where the color schemes are tailored to the youngest generation of hip-hop wannabes who apparently can't work enough lime green or pink into their wardrobe. I even bought a "performance fabric" T-shirt for working out in. It was so light and breathable, it felt like wearing an air drape. I'm afraid I can no longer hang with a ratty old cotton T-shirt for my gym togs. It winds up a soggy mess in the bottom of my gym bag anyhow. Now I have wicking technology, antimicrobial, bitchin' synthetic fibers righteously keeping me cool. And the prices were quite reasonable if you avoid some of the overpriced items. And any trip to the Bass Pro Shop is bound to be a window-shopping adventure. I mean, where else can you have access to all manner of sporting goods, durable outdoor gear, and barbeque accessories? They even have a restaurant in the store, which I am told has a decent beer selection. That's for another visit. On this mission, I made sure to curb my manly impulses and resisted the cheese doodles and pork rinds near the checkout kiosks. read more

We went there to just browse as a family and this place is the PLACE. No matter what you need, they got it. I was shocked when I saw the upper floor existed after browsing the first floor fishing and clothes for an hour and a half. I talked to a bow hunting salesman and he was the coolest nicest employee. He got in depth telling me and my dad how to get started with bow hunting and the prices for the bows and supplies were jaw droppingly great. I am now 100% convinced to go back and get a bow and supplies because of the great service. The store was super clean and neat, and was such a pretty place. The clothing selection and fishing selection was absolutely perfect! read more

Usually love going to bass pro shops because of the environment and the amazing staff but during my visit today I was picking up two t shirts after looking around and Maddie H at check out snatched them out of my hands at check out and was very rude to me during that short bit of interaction. Didn't say hello, didn't ask me anything, took my shirts and rudely handed me my stuff by sliding everything across the counter.. Being in retail myself I know that you should be overly friendly and helpful.. asking the customers if they found everything, saying hello, ask them about their day, that's not what I got from this young girl. She was short, rude, and VERY unprofessional in my opinion. If she is that miserable she shouldn't be working register. She should be thankful she has a job and not take her horrible attitude out on her customers. I will be back, but management should definitely take this up, because people like Maddie H make it an unpleasant experience for people who love going to Bass. The nice couple being me even looked a bit shocked. Very disappointed in the choice of staff they choose to have run the front. read more

Went to the Bass Pro Shop this morning. I wanted to have a fish finder, 3 bank onboard charger, and 3 batteries installed. The guy in the service department said that they don't do accessory installs on boats older than 2014. I have a 20' Renegade FS 20 in mint condition. He asked if I had a picture, and I showed it to him. He said the labor for the fish finder would be 3 hours. I installed the last one. Took 30 minutes. Batteries were a couple more hours as well as the charger. They must think I just fell off the turnip wagon. I'm a little older now, but I will be doing the work myself. read more

Walked through the store and saw a mix of half the people wearing masks and half without. Even saw a few people walk in the front door and make it inside without even putting on a mask. My wife spoke to a staff member about the issue and even he didn't have his mask up or the female coworker next to him. Trying to shop and have to watch where I go or whom I'm around is not a fun way to shop. I'll not be coming back until they can get their act together. read more

I like the outdoors and BPS caters to that so I find that I need to walk around here every few months just to see what is in season. I do like looking at most of the stuff here but I rarely finding myself walking out of there having purchased something. Not because of the price but because I do not like most the brands that are stocked but that is because I am particular with the things that fit my needs. With that said there is a mammoth amount of gear and products to look through from water sports to camping and hunting. read more

I love this place and so do my kids! Tonight I went for fishing gear for the kids. This is an area I know nothing about. Brad in the fishing department was very friendly and very helpful. He spent a good 10-15 minutes with me helping me to pick out the right trout fishing equipment. Thanks Brad! This place caters to kids with activities for them on Tuesday nights and occasionally on weekends. Check out their website. read more

Victor In firearms is an impatient, unfriendly, sarcastic worker who obviously hates his job. Was no help, very rude. Stood in line 25 minutes and then he tried to tell me he couldn't help me because they were closing in 45 minutes. I drove an hour and talked to someone on the phone and they said just be there by 6 and I was. He kept sighing during the process and had no customer service skills. Don't recommend him! read more

Very impolite and rude employees as I was trying to purchase an item and many refused to help not only did they refuse but smirked as well as they whispered something under their breath. Very unprofessional and overall a bad experience as much as I enjoy walking the store the employees ruin that experience with their rudeness, impoliteness, and their unprofessionalism. -Improve the employees attitude and manners and maybe just maybe they can do better at helping out customers in a professional and polite way. read more

There is so much to look at in this store! Clothes, camping gear, clothes, guns, off road vehicles, boats, food, toys, I could go on and on. I always allow at least 2 hours even when I know what I'm going in for because I end up looking at a few other things while I'm there. This store has two levels with so much to look at. I really like the Columbia clothing brand they carry. If your looking for a baby item they even have baby clothes and books which are seriously the cutest. read more

Fantastic selection of STUFF. I'm not an hunter but I think the display is interesting. The big aquarium is neat for checking out a few of the various kinds of fish that inhabit the lakes and streams of our country, but it's kinda hard for me to actually tell em apart. They have a good clothing selection for men and women as well as some good deals on the off season apparel. Bass Pro Shop also provides seasonal activities for the entire family. There's the target for adults and kids upstairs. A great selection of camping supplies. Grills, dehydrators, coolers, smokers, meat grinders, fishing supplies, traps, just so many different things. I will never use their gun department for an FFL again. Not only did they let my FFL expire, lied about notifying me, they refused to give me the shotgun after 30 days of the FBI not notifying them. Which by law they can do. So now we are shipping it back to Palmetto and we'll start the process all over again only this time with a real gun dealer instead of a bait and tackle store. They don't answer their phone, worst customer service I've experienced in a longtime. Using AZ Guns and they only charge $20 for an FFL whereas Bass Pro Bait and Tackle charges $50. read more

Gist: Great prices, great selection, friendly staff, clean facility. Thank you Kyle for helping me out! Visited for my first time yesterday do grab some ammo, apparently like every other human on the planet. Due to the corona virus they had a line formed and were following guidelines required, it moved very quickly and efficiently. Was grabbing ammo and comparing prices and it was going off the shelves fast. An employee I believe named Kyle, tall guy, helped my get what I needed for max value/quantity/quakity and even put it in a box for me. Was helpful in getting me in and out and happy with what I was looking for. Thank you. read more

(Copied & pasted from my initial Google review & subsequent edit after further attempt to settle issue) Purchased a new firearm which had to be taken back because ammo would not load into barrel. Nearly a month later I was finally contacted and told the manufacturer said there is nothing wrong with it so therefore bass pro will do nothing other than refer me to a gunsmith that I can pay, even though their own employees had attempted to fit the proper caliber into the barrel. The person who called, from the gun department, repeatedly asked if I had test fired it & then why not. AFTER being reminded that the ammo would not load into the barrel and that it was literally impossible to fire a gun when the ammo doesn't fit . The lack of customer assistance, the lack of competence, the lack of actually inspecting a firearm by an employee who took nearly 20 minutes "checking everything" in a back room before handing the gun to me when I purchased it & the refusal to offer a refund or exchange on a defective product should result in an suspension of FFL at this location pending investigation & verification of proper employee training Edit: I would like to add that they blatantly lie when confronted. I never received "multiple voice-mails" to "the number I gave the customer service woman". My number was left on a voice-mail, not with a person, and I had no voice-mails. When I told manager to get the call records he offered, he ignored me and changed subject. Also, when I asked for a copy of the records & pictures that were sent to Taurus, I was told I needed a court order. In a different issue my daughter was told by a corporate manager that is not store policy and that when someone says that it means the records do not exist. I also found out; unfortunately after making the mistake of buying at Bass Pro, that my other daughter was sold a "new" firearm with no firing pin. When she tried to get them to fix it, she was told it was her problem . So to sum up.. They sell defective products. They do not provide customer support. They lie. They are rude They have little or no influence with their suppliers. And they don't care because they've got everyone fooled into thinking they are reliable read more

Terrible experience. I tried placing an order 3 times online and they would cancel it without notice. Let's be clear, we are not in any way into hunting. Maybe finishing a little but we love this place. There are so many things to see. We came at Christmas when I was at my wits end that the mall was charging $35 for a picture with Santa. Who can afford that, especially at Christmas? Least of all, who would want to? Anyway, I heard that they were doing them for free here so we came. We ended up waiting for about an hour but I had my kindle and I held out place in line while the boys rode the carousel and played the games. Fortunately I have an older and a younger, someone with two parents could also pull this off. Not only was the picture free, they also gave us a really cute frame. We are sold on this place. read more

Horrible experience!! Apparently Bass Pro Shops doesn't like making money or satisfying a customer's needs. I came in to spend $4,000 on a Garmin Force trolling motor in the 57-inch model with a 10% discount that they were offering online. I called ahead to ensure that they had that model in stock because I couldn't find it on their website. I was only able to locate the 50-inch model and obtain a 10% discount on that. So while on a phone call with a gentleman named Brandon, I confirmed the model was in stock and was told I can come in and purchase the 57-inch model with a 10% discount in store using my club card. I had just received a club card a week prior for this specific purchase. Bass Pro Shops often has 10% off days online and in store. Last month every Tuesday in the month of June was a 10% off day in store and online. So here I am excited, I've been waiting years to purchase this trolling motor. It's been a dream of mine. The way Adrian the manager spoke to me indicated that he enjoyed a position of power where he decided whether or not you were going to make a purchase. It was quite frankly disgusting and he should not be a manager there. All in all this is the last purchase I'll be making from Bass Pro Shops. They failed at every point along the way of this purchase. It should have been a simple 20 minute transaction tops and ended up being 3 hours over the course of 2 days. I do not recommend this store to anybody who is seriously spending money on fishing/boat equipment. Go with another Outfitter and check your local shops. This has to be the most bittersweet purchase I've ever made in my life. I mean how often do you buy your dream trolling motor only to have it spoiled by the people selling it to you? I still have half a mind to return the item and purchase it somewhere else for all the trouble that I've been through. It wasn't worth the $360 discount I got. read more

I recently purchased a boat (Bass Tracker Classic XL.) The customer service from start to finish was better than expected. From sales to financing and delivery every person I worked with went out of their way. I had some lighting issues on my vehicle and expected to spend $300+ to get them fixed. Instead they walked me out to the sales floor and found a $13 adapter that solved the issue. The one issue I have with BPS is that there is usually a long line and few cashiers. I'm there frequently so this is not a one time observation. Additionally, the guys in the fishing department rock! Very informative and willing to really explain things quite well. A true megastore - they designed this outdoor sports store so that you do feel a bit like you're outdoors when you're in the building. The waterfall, aquarium, and recreations of rocky mountain walls make for some interesting scenery as you browse the cavernous space. If you need something for camping, hunting, fishing, or other sports that take you out in the wild, you're most likely to find it here. Just beware ... like me, you'll probably spend more time in here than you intend - there are just too many things and places to explore in this complex. read more

I live right near this place and have been wanting to check this place out for a while. I am not a hunter or fisher, but do have an interest in the outdoors, and wanted to check this place out. For starters, its HUGE. Beautifully decorated, with ao much detail to everything. It's obviously decorated in an outdoorsman theme, with animals everywhere! (stuffed, of course.) I learned that the animals that they have on display are legally obtained, which means that none were caught by bounty hunting but died naturally, and were taxadermied. The staff here seems great. I was greeted immediately when entering, and given a store map of what to look for. (this is also when I recieved the details on all the animals in the store.) While cruising the store, I noticed that they seem to have a huge variety of not only mens and womens clothing, but tons of different products as well, from home decor, to tents, and even some food in there as well! This place is a trip, and worth the stop to check out. Beautiful! read more
