I purchased a Fundraiser Card in support of Santana Sultans Football Teams. There is a deal for Baskin Robbin's on Mission Gorge Rd and we attempted to use that offer but the cashier refused to honor the deal because she said there was no barcode for her to scan. She would not even look at the screen. I explained to her it's a fundraising card and there were many of them sold so she may want to talk to her manager about how to redeem the deal. She was not the only employee there at the time but never asked for assistance or advice from her co worker. This location is very clean and never too crowded at all. Very spacious for my wheelchair. Parking is always good. Service is friendly. We had two scoops of the new Twix Caramel crunch. Delicious. But the prices! Holy cow. Over 10$ for two single scoop cups. How did we get here? I'd like to go back, but it may be less and less. Never again. I gave 2 stars instead of one because my daughter's ice cream was fine, but my hubby and I ordered milkshakes and ended up with a horrible case of food poisoning. The milk was the only thing we both had the same all day and it must have been bad. 2 falls days of nausea and all the bad stuff of being sick. One of the first things I noticed about this place was how clean it was. From the floors to the counters everything was so spotless!! The people who work here are really kind and informative. This was my first time at a Baskins Robbins and I really appreciated the help fullness of the employees here. Parking was easy here as it is apart of a shopping plaza! I took my daughter and her friend out to ice cream last night at the Santee Baskin Robbins to celebrate an award my daughter had earned at school. The customer service provided by Raquel (per her nametag) was extremely professional to me. Her communication, the care she took in our order, the conversations she had with the little ones, etc were really impressive to me. BB has always been a part of our childhood and when our son was old enough to enjoy ice cream we took him here. They were very friendly and let him try a few flavors (pre Covid) During Covid you can't sample but by now our son has his favorites. Horrible service and very racist! As an African American woman I always hate coming into these type of places in Santee, because my family and I are always mistreated. I had a feeling that it was going to be a horrible experience based off of the dirty looks that my family and I received when walking in the door. I have two small children and the two girls both had a terrible attitude as my daughters were trying to decide which flavors they wanted (now that we are no longer allowed to try any of the flavors due to Covid). When they finally gave us our ice cream, they gave us the smallest scoops of ice cream! Initially I wasn't going to say anything, however after seeing another white family come in and get twice the size in scoops, I went to the counter to ask why our scoops were so small. I received nothing but dirty looks and eye rolls. They literally wanted to argue with me about the size of the scoops and put them on the scale to measure. I hadn't eaten any of the ice cream so it was exactly what they gave me. I asked her if she measured the white family behind us since they got twice the size and one of the girls rolled her eyes and walked to the back. it's absolutely disgusting the way that people think that they can treat people of color in this area! They will never get another dime of my money and I will be contacting corporate. I really hope that something is done about this type of behavior. You just can't treat people that way. Good thing I tasted it before I dished out that frostic to all the young kids of my son's birthday party. I called "day of" about the cake and they said I had to contact the manager. I just talked to the manager and he said because I was able to scrape off the frosting/wording/decoration and serve it to the kids that I get no replacement cake or full refund. What I just picked up, looks nothing like what I ordered on line. My son when in to get this pie while I waited in my truck. I opened it up immediately in my truck after picking up in store. I should of got out of my truck and immediately returned it. Plus she made my son pay for it even though I paid for it on line. He told her that it was already paid for and showed her the email with the order number. She told him that he was wrong and that he needed to pay for it- so he ended up putting it on his credit card. The ice cream there was delicious and the service was 10/10. There was only one gentlemen behind the counter who handled a party full of little girls along with my group and another couple. He even handled the trashy customers who came in trying to get free ice cream off of him with class. When the guy called him a $hitty effing worker, he still handled it with class. We ordered a cake for a 30th birthday early on Sun and let them know we would pick up the cake after 5pm on Mon, for the birthday on Tues. we went to pick it up and the cake was not ready. The clerk in the store told us "it was the decorator's fault" if it didn't get made. We asked to talk to a manager and the manager told the clerk that it did actually get made, but then it couldn't be located. The worst part was we weren't offered a different cake until after we asked for a refund. When the refund was issued, they tried to short us money. This was unacceptable. I don't usually write reviews like this but after this happening every time in the past month, time to. I love Baskin and have been coming to the Santee location for 16 years. My only complaint in all those years was the attitude of the kids working there was often not pleasant. But for the past month or so since the family that owns it has been behind the counter, the size of the regular scoops have been small and more like kid sized scoops. I went there this week and the scoops did not even reach the edge of the cup, and it was the standard size cup for a double scoop, so two scoops sat well below the rim AND for those two measly scoops it was over $6! So less ice cream for more money. Plan to try the Fletcher Parkway location and see if this is a problem with the Santee location. Won't tolerate the more money for less product even if that seems to be the norm these days....don't mess with my ice cream! read more
