This place is all the hype on TikTok. It's known for having really affordable and huge quantity froyo. They changed their menu daily, so check their Instagram as they upload it before opening time. You basically choose your size and your flavors and then your toppings. For most of the sizes you can mix flavors but all the toppings are normally additional cost per each one that you add. I did a lot of research ahead of time and I actually printed out a coupon which is basically a buy one get one free, but it has to be printed and handed over. $8.50 bought me a whole lot of yogurt that I was able to spread it out within 2 to 3 days worth. I liked the combination of more of the tart flavors so I got the coconut and red raspberry in one and then the banana cream pie and coconut in the other. Even though it's a small size it's actually humongous and can literally feed 2 to 3 people if you want it to. just look for the big mill it'll be easy and tall to spot. When I went, there wasn't really a line but I'm sure when lines are long. This could take a while since there's only 3 to 4 workers and everybody's sampling everything and customizing it and doing add-ons so pack your patience. if you want to be in the AC, there's a couple of seats inside and a few seats outside as well. It is definitely out of the way from Central San Diego but if you have time to do a little day trip, I think it is worth it for the price, quality, and quantity. CASH ONLY SO BE PREPARED!
Came here on a Thursday night and there was a steady line out the door! Right from the get go you can see the portion sizes are MASSIVE!!! Definitely a great value for how much frozen yogurt you get. This place is CASH ONLY, and the prices are incredibly good. I opted for a BABY which was $5.50 and it was definitely more than enough for one person. I chose the Vanilla Cream which is lactose-free (I love that they have this option) with strawberries and cheesecake bites. The toppings are just added on top, I dug around wishing it was mixed inside like what they do at Cold Stones but it's all good. For the value proposition, I can't complain. The workers were quick and friendly! They were willing to answer any questions! Highly recommend this place if you're ever in El Cajon!
Came here on a Friday night around 7pm and waited close to an hour in line! Didn't mind it but something to be mindful of if you don't want to wait a while. I tried the Baby vanilla with heath toffee and strawberries which comes with two toppings and was $5.50. My sister tried strawberry with cheesecake bites & rainbow sprinkles. Both were delicious! There is seating indoors & outdoors. Parking is very easy. Would definitely come back if I am in the area + maybe try earlier in the day in case the wait is shorter.
Sorry to break it to you but the hype is real and so worth waiting in line for. I hadn't been to the Yogurt Mill in years and I've again fallen in love with it, love me a sweet treat. The quality of the yogurt is just unmatched anywhere else.

The coupons are a great deal and basically a BOGO. My favorites are the tart flavors since I like when frozen yogurt has some tartness to it. You can try samples before ordering. I usually go on weekdays and there would only be two or three groups ahead of me. Though once I came on a weekend and the line was wrapped around the building next door. It took ~40 minutes to get to the front. Personally, I won't be back again on a weekend evening. There is lots of parking in this strip mall. Parking has never been an issue for me near El Cajon.
The long line means go ahead and treat yourself to a big one! We went on a Sunday around 3:00pm, over a holiday weekend with a cool Free Toppings deal for Veterans & Active Duty Military. We waited about 45 minutes but we can assume it's probably less crowded during the week. As first time visitors, it takes so long because the staff is really nice and they let you try samples of their rotating daily flavors before you decide. I opted for a basic mix of vanilla & chocolate in the Junior size, with sprinkles and Reese's PB cup crumbs. Super awesome that they fill 3 layers of the toppings so you get a little something each time. It does freeze pretty well so if you don't eat it all it can last you a few days. A little bit of parking out front in the shopping area. No shade while you wait but others brought umbrellas. Lots of seats inside too. There was a bathroom but it was located in their staff area and you needed to be let in.
The line is LONG, so be prepared. We waited about it an hour so do know it's a busy spot even on a Monday. The yogurt was good, they let you sample the flavors that is nice. The toppings are where it is at. My friend and J got a baby which was plenty for the two of us. Would go again if the line wasn't out the door around the corner. Also bring cash!!
I stopped by this place after a friend suggested it for dessert. The portions are generous and is great for saving it for later. My froyo froze pretty good but didn't have the right consistency when you first get it. The froyo was nice and creamy and the strawberry one was my favorite! I don't think it was worth the line though in my opinion.
Stopped here with a couple of friends after seeing this place on social media. The line is INSANE to get your froyo (I think we waited close to an hour and a half). Once we got inside, staff was phenomenal. Very friendly, vibrant, and makes small talk with guests to provide a pleasant experience. The froyo here is good, the topping choices are great, and they give you a massive amount of froyo, but it's certainly not worth the lengthy wait in my opinion. Our group decided that, while we were happy with the experience, none of us would return and wait in line that long again for the end product.
Good tasting yogurt, nice consistency and not overly sweet. Many of options and one non dairy option. Been established for decades. Nice workers and reasonable price with good portions if you share the larger sizes. One thing seems there a good number of homeless around the parking lot. My hubby and I each ordered a baby which is about 10-12oz, comes with up to 3 flavors, and a free topping of choice. If you get it without a lid, they top it off with the more yogurt. The yogurt was very creamy and we sampled 5 different flavors. I ordered the cold brew and cheesecake with no toppings while the hubby ordered strawberry, cheesecake, and cold brew. Total was $9 for both, it filled us up plenty and I tossed what I didn't finish. Expect to wait in line for a minimum of 20 minutes but know it moves pretty quickly but gets hot in that east county sun. My only complaint is that I wish they'd stop using styrofoam cups. I know they keep everything cooler but would be nice to see them switch over to something more environmentally friendlier.
Teen found this on Instagram and so we specifically drove down to try the "best" frozen yogurt. She put together a day of things to do and our last stop after a day in the sun was here. Line out the door it did take awhile to get our treat but good things come to those that wait. This was some pretty damn good yogurt! And it was a huge serving to boot! I didn't go in to order as I stayed with the dog but what was brought to me was amazing! I love Reese's PB cup and there was a ton mixed in. I was told I got a mini but it was super substantial. My hubby got a bigger one but he said he should have got the smaller one. It's my understanding they swap out flavors each day but going from all of our reactions, sure you won't have a problem finding a good flavor and toppings to boot! I would drive down here again for this!

This place is absolutely a 100/10 in my opinion. Their frozen yogurt is one of the creamiest frozen yogurts I've tried in my life and I don't believe it can be beat. Not to mention they switch up the flavors every day which makes you want to go back. If you get their child size and up they will layer your toppings of choice with the yogurt ensuring you never run out of toppings! Don't be fooled by the names of their sizes though because their portions are abysmally large but it's perfect. You can sample the flavors before ordering and I recommend doing so but don't be those people who ask to sample a basic flavor like chocolate especially if there's a huge line (I've seen it happen before). There is almost always a line if you go in the evening time but if you happen to have some time during off peak hours (daytime during weekdays), I suggest going then. The service is really efficient though so the line moves fast. read more

It's a bit overhyped (in my opinion) and out of the way (if you're staying in San Diego) but I had to try. If the line is long, it moves somewhat fast. Also, the portions are huge. I got the smallest size and couldn't even make a dent on it. But if you take it home, it freezes pretty well. The flavors are okay. I think vanilla is the best one. Peanut butter is pretty good too. Some of the flavors change so check their instagram for the flavors of the day. Cash only. read more
Huge yogurt cups!! Came here on a Thursday night. (The line took 30min!). Ordered a child size and that is more than enough. The portions are huge and they layer the toppings (each topping is an extra charge). Don't be deceived by the large cups though, if you want a lid, they put the cup in a larger one. Not everyone is leaving with a large but it sure does look like it! I stored it in the freezer and defrosted it a few days later. Still tasted awesome! read more

The line winds around the plaza, it was about an hour wait so it doesn't really go by that fast, and I don't think the wait is worth it. Samples are available to try the flavors and there are a ton of topping options! I definitely recommend the peanut butter flavor, the other flavors are questionable haha. Super casual, pick up and go type of place. There are some seats but you'll be surrounded by the line if you choose to sit there. Cash only place! We got overcharged for our orders, so be aware before paying. read more

Went mid day on a weekday and there was a minimal wait. Cash only which we prepared for. What we didn't prepare for was that coupons are printed only (can't show on phone). The portions were extremely generous. We didn't get any toppings, but we got three flavors. The dole whip was delicious. I wish I would've gotten that flavor for the whole yogurt. The vanilla was also very good it had a mild flavor that was enjoyable. The coconut was good, but had a very artificial flavor that I could've done without. Overall I'd return again but skip the coconut flavor. Also was interesting to see them use styrofoam. Lasted our whole drive home but didn't think it was available in CA. read more
Went during the Memorial Day Holiday and although there was a long line, it moved pretty smoothly! First time the family came here. There is/was a Yogurt Mill in La Mesa on La Mesa Blvd which seemed to have closed during the great Pandemic of 2020. This place is the real OG and the hype seems to have been going on since we moved from the Bay Area in 2017. Yogurt is so good with layered toppings (rainbow sprinkles for the win). I got child yellow cake/coconut and my wife got a baby peanut butter, vanilla, coconut w/ nuts. We'll come here again to try all the other flavors too! read more
Finally came to check out the hype. Luckily the line wasn't too bad when we came around 2:30 pm on a Saturday and we ordered within 10 mins. The line did get pretty long as we ate. Their sizes are huge and prices are reasonable; we got two baby sizes for $11. We got the strawberry and vanilla with Oreo pieces and graham crackers and the chocolate and vanilla swirl with peanut m&ms. The frozen yogurt was tasty, thick, creamy and not overly sweet but nothing special. I enjoyed vanilla the most as strawberry was a little tart. Very generous amount and lots of flavors and toppings to choose from. Service was friendly and let us sample some flavors. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back or wait in line for a long time, but might stop by if I'm in the area. read more

Been seeing this place go viral and made the drive over. Came around 2:30PM Saturday and luckily there was barely a line! We were in and out within 10 minutes, but as we ate, the line went into the parking lot. The size is very generous and reasonably priced; we got two baby sizes for $11! Ordered the chocolate & vanilla swirl with peanut m&ms, and strawberry & vanilla with oreos and graham crackers. I liked the amount and variety of toppings. The frozen yogurt wasn't really anything special, but still tasty and creamy. Vanilla was my favorite. Parking was easy and service was friendly. I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back, but would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area! And with a printed coupon next time! read more

Stopped by today around 12-1PM because it was humid and warm in El Cajon. It wasn't as busy as it is at nighttime so I was happy about it. I ordered a child size yogurt - Dole Raspberry on the bottom and Coconut on the top with Cheesecake Bites and Butterfinger Crumbles. Great size for one person. Delicious! Yogurt Mill lives up to the hype. I got the peanut butter froyo in the second largest size, and chose crushed peanut butter cups and cheesecake bites for the toppings. One thing that really sets Yogurt Mill apart is how they layer the toppings throughout (top, middle, and bottom) so you're not stuck with just froyo halfway through. Every bite is just as good as the first, which I seriously appreciate. Another unexpected bonus is that it freezes incredibly well. My husband and I actually ate it in several sittings since the portion is so huge. Even after being frozen, it still tasted almost as good as the day we got it. Some tips: definitely ask for your yogurt "dropped" and don't forget to bring cash since it's cash only. Love this place and already craving my next visit. read more

I'm not normally a big froyo person but this was fantastic and so smooth and creamy. They also do not skimp on toppings. This spot is always cracking! Line was not too long, stood there 20 min max. The yogurt was incredible. We got junior size which allows you to have 4 flavors. We got peanut butter, mango dole, cake batter, and strawberry. They also change their top 2 flavors and bottom three everyday! Pro tip print print out coupon online. Tried the Yogurt Mill for the second time this summer. Didn't have to rush off like last time so I can write a review this time. My daughter heard about this place on social media and based on the line so did everyone else. Waited in line for 45-55 minutes and it was worth it. They have five regular flavors and five flavors they post daily. The sizes are huge and the toppings feel endless. The young man who helped us was very nice and went at his own pace but all of the yogurt and final product was well worth it. We tried the a junior and a large. Each variety includes four flavors if you choose and no toppings but toppings are about $1 each and you get a lot. They pack in yogurt, toppings and repeat a few times until you are left with a monster dessert. The business is cash only with a few tables inside and outside, but it is a small unique location. We drive 100 miles to try it so that's telling you a lot. Worth it! read more

Service was friendly letting us try lots of options and the free toppings for veterans deal that day was very generous! i personally, think yogurt mill is a little overhyped. i feel like there isn't a ton to do on the east side of san diego, so this has become one of the main things the area is known for after going viral. i've been here a few times because friends who visit always want to try it, and while i can see why people like it, it's just not my personal favorite. i prefer frozen yogurt that has more of a sweet, yogurt flavor, whereas this tastes more like literal frozen yogurt to me. my boyfriend likes it and thinks the flavor combinations are really good, so i think this is definitely one of those places that comes down to personal preference. another thing that makes it difficult for me is that the flavors rotate every day. i've been wanting to try their pumpkin flavor, but it seems like they only have it once or twice a week. they announce the flavors on instagram the day of, so you pretty much have to check their page that day to know what they're serving. that makes it hard to actually plan a trip around a specific flavor, especially if you're someone who doesn't have time to check instagram every day. it's also cash only, and the line can be LONG. every time i've gone, it's been around 30 minutes or more depending on how popular the flavor that day is. definitely be prepared to wait. one thing i will say is that the portions are huge, so it can be pretty affordable if you're sharing one with multiple people. they also have coupons where you can get a buy-one-get-one-free deal if you print it beforehand. the size listed on the coupon was way too big for us, but one of the girls working there was nice enough to let us use the buy-one-get-one deal on the smaller size, which i really appreciated! overall, i wouldn't personally go out of my way to come here, but i can understand why people love it. if you happen to go on a day when they have flavors you really like, i can definitely see the appeal especially because of the huge portions and the flavor combinations. just not enough for me to wait 30+ minutes and plan my day around it. also it's less enjoyable when you go with your friends on a day where you don't like any flavors so you don't get anything but they do. read more

For a few years now, I've passed the yogurt mill with curiosity. There's always a very long line there. We tried to go at night, but the line was wrapped almost entirely around the strip mall. And then, add a yelp event. Someone mentioned that they will drive out of their way to go to the yogurt milll. So needless to say, I had to try it out. I thought that in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, it would be no problem. The line was shorter and it moved relatively quickly. The first thing you notice is how large the portion sizes are. So kudos on that especially in the day and age of price gouging. Staff was friendly, and I tried a sample of the tart lemonade. It was OK, but I decided to go with peanut butter and chocolate. Added turtle and mixed nuts. Perhaps I'm just not a yogurt, aficionado. The ones I've had in the past seemed to have much more flavor. Honestly, their peanut butter tasted like vanilla. And I think perhaps they need a new vendor for their turtle chocolate as it was waxy. In all, it's a good value for the quantity but not so much for the quality for me. Having said that there is always a very long line there so there must be something I'm missing. Give it a try and see what you think. Oh, and the only accept cash. read more

Went to yogurt mill after seeing all the TikTok videos hyping it up! We were so excited and we expected a line but it was HUGE. we waited over 1.5 hours. Thank goodness we ran to try to find a restroom because turns out they only take cash, I think they should put more signs out because I'd be pretty upset if I waited this entire time for it to not have cash. Not worth going out of your way for; it's just froyo. I can see the appeal of a family business and a gigantic cup of froyo, but you do not need to drive over 20 minutes here and wait in a 40 minute line because their froyo really is just like any other froyo you've ever had. Flavors rotate daily and can be found on their instagram. You can sample their flavors. I found the menu sizes to be a bit misleading (in a good way I guess) since they do overfill and you might end up with more froyo than you anticipated. Toppings say $2.50 each topping but you can split that serving size to select up to 2 topping choices. I would say the baby size is probably the way to go since it's a good amount of froyo with a free topping included. Also Google search for coupons although they must be printed out. They only accept cash, no credit cards. There is ample parking in the lot. Staff is friendly. Service is a bit slow but at least you don't feel rushed. Yogurt Mill just might be the love of my life. Not an exaggeration. I mean this with my whole chest. I'm not sure how many people are with me when I say this, but yogurt is one of my favorite foods! From yogurt bowls to frozen yogurt, I'm a fan of it all. I've been seeing and hearing all about Yogurt Mill, so I dropped by one night to finally try it out! The line was absolutely insane. I think we waited around 40 mins to 1 hour. It's definitely a hot spot, especially at night when everyone's in the mood for a sweet treat. They offer a ton of flavors, toppings, and sizes. We went for the classic Vanilla and their funky Tart Sour Apple (topped with sour gummy worms & rainbow sprinkles). Holy moly. Their froyo was unlike anything I've ever tasted! It was rich, thick, creamy, and just wow. My mind was blown! Also, as a lover of apples, the Tart Sour Apple flavor was probably the most beautiful crossover I've tasted. Their sizes are HUGE! We went with their smallest which is a Baby. It comes with 3 flavors max and 1 free topping. I'd definitely recommend getting bigger sizes since their yogurts refreeze extremely well! They taste just as good. Pro-tip: They're CASH ONLY! If you're looking to use a coupon, you have to have it physically printed out from their site in order to use it.
