Got the Oreo shake. Expected a little bit more flavor, more Oreo but felt more like a vanilla shake than an Oreo shake. There was 1 guy working but it was doing work! Very impressed with his service. He gets them to a 4 star review. Place is inside Grossmont center but decently convenient as it's next to Panera on the "outside". read more

Until a few weeks ago, I'd have said that it's impossible for a trip to an ice cream scoop shop to be bad. Then I visited Cold Stone Creamery at Grossmont Shopping Center. It shouldn't be possible for ice cream to taste stale, but Cold Stone's did. It shouldn't be possible for the impudent children operating this shop to have kept their jobs past the first few days, but they did. And it shouldn't be possible for such a business to be as dark, dank and cluttered as was the Grossmont Shopping Center outlet of Cold Stone Creamery. The internet tells me that this corporation has been in business for 38 years. Impossible. read more

Came here for a quick treat to cool off after painting at the ceramic cafe. This is the smallest location I've been to, but luckily it wasn't crowded. The staff member who helped us was decent, nothing of note. Our ice cream was great! Perfect for a warm Saturday afternoon. Not going out of my way to come here, but it was nice to know there's a location inside Grossmont Center! read more

Went 4/4/2025 in PM for waffle cone w coffee ice cream. Got stale cone and didn't notice until already in movie theater. Had to leave Movie theater and go back to ask why I got stale cone. She said she didn't have no more and gave me the waffle in a bowl. Didn't make a big deal since already at the movies but was annoyed that she thought it was okay to serve it. I asked her why she said that there was no more and she only made a batch for the bowl. Note there was only one employee working that day. $11.48 for a double scoop waffle Update- went to movie and decided to get an ice cream on 4/13/2025 . Two Hispanic girls with the glasses refused to discount the new purchase after letting her know my previous experience. She could have waved the $2.48 that is charged for the waffle option yet she said that she couldn't. Lame dog girl. Period. read more

Ordered from this Coldstone tonight via Uber Eats and received the wrong ice cream. It should have had birthday cake ice cream, but instead came with sweet cream ice cream. Completely changed the flavor profile and didn't enjoy it. Did the BOGO deal, so both ice creams are ruined. read more

I Walked in and was not greeted, the girl looked at me like i was interrupting her day. I then ordered a like it and asked for it the way i have been doing for years. Granted this was my first time at this location. But she said i could not mix the ice creams together and would have to order a large size. Which makes no sense because i am still getting the same amount of ice cream just different flavor. I ended up not getting anything and wont be returning to this location. read more

Ordered a waffle cone for delivery a founders favorite and kit kats. they literally forgot the waffle cone, forgot everything in a founders favorite except the brownie and extra kit kats. i call to get at least a partial refund and they tried gaslighting me saying if i was sure or not. normally i don't care but i haven't had ice cream in so long and i really needed this. i'm so disappointed and they did nothing to help. not even a apology. so whoever worked at 6:50pm on july 7th 2025, you should probably be fired or rethink your customer service. thanks. read more

We ordered a small ice cream and since the cup was leaking the girl put it in a medium cup and she told the cashier it's a small. He proceeded to charge us for a medium. We realized later and submitted the feedback. They offered to remake our medium and to reach out when we were ready to redeem it. When we reached out we received no response. When we walked into the store there was a girl with long black hair leaning over the back counter with her back to the front door on her phone and when she saw us she walked towards the back room and a guy came out to serve us. He was nice, but she had no apron on and just didn't acknowledge us. A third person was full on on his phone with it up to his ear. We were the only guests at this time, but it came off really unprofessional. I bought a Gotta Have It sized Peanut Butter Cup Perfection as a birthday surprise for my brother. The ice cream was fine, until we pulled out a 12 inch long hair. Ruined the gift and grossed everyone out as he pulled it and it just kept coming out. read more

We came into the Grossmont Center Cold Stone tonight for my birthday. Mariana was excellent. She treated us like family, was patient with our orders, and combined the most proportional and delicious ice cream mixes we could ever hope for. She made great conversation with us while she mixed up our ice cream's. It felt like ordering ice cream from a friend. In the face of adversity with a belligerent customer, she remained calm and professional. This young lady is what every establishment should hope for in an employee. Thank you, Mariana, for making my birthday finish on a strong note. I wish you nothing but pleasant customers for the rest of your time at Cold Stone. read more

We came here on a weeknight for a short break while shopping. The place had a line that was moving quite slowly. There appeared to be 2 employees working, one in the front and one in the back. I ordered a cup of vanilla with pecans. My boyfriend got apple pie in a waffle cone. He enjoyed his well enough but mine barely had any pecans at all which was a real disappointment. It breaks my heart to leave this review about a Cold Stone location. The Cold Stone in Grossmont WAS our family Cold Stone; we had been going for over 8 years. The reason for the 1 star was an employees attitude on Tuesday, October 25 @ 4:15. I would give her name but she refused to give it. Her attitude and customer service were abismal. It was a little crowded, but that is no excuse. My 6-year-old, was excited to order is chocolate covered waffle cone with fruity pebbles, and he was eager to try cotton candy ice cream for the first time. For his two add-ins/toppings he wanted gummy bears and fruity pebbles. He didn't know what fruity pebbles were called so when I asked him what toppings he wanted, he replied, "the one that's are in my cone...the one between the gummy bears and the marshmallows." The worker heard marshmallows and started to add them to his cotton candy ice cream. When I told her, "'no ma'am he doesn't want marshmallows, he wants fruity pebbles" that's when the problems started. The worker got an attitude and rudely said, "he said he wanted marshmallows!" I explained to her that he did not. He didn't know what fruity pebbles were called and was explaining to me what he wanted. Normally, we spend over $40 on a Cold Stone trip and this was a trip for my 8-year-olds birthday so it was going to be a lot more because more toppings and whatever else they wanted. Because if her attitude I told my wife we wouldn't get the ice cream from Cold Stone, we would spend our money at another location. My wife told the worker we were leaving and that she was not professional. The worker than said' "well I'm sick so I probably sound rude, but are you going to buy this or not." Side Note: The next issue we had with her is that she said she was sick but was preparing our food unmasked and without gloves. I have been a good prepared and I have not served food when I was sick, and at least she could have worn a mask so as ti not spread germs. My wife said no we would not purchase the ice cream due to the worker's attitude/lack of professionalism and now that she was sick. The worker said my wife could talk to her manager, but she refused to give her name. There is more but to wrap it up, my wife said she would take a photo so she could positively identify the worker to the manager. The worker gave my wife the bird and we got it on photo for her manager. I am not posting the photo here because it was only taken to identify here to her manager. I love Cold Stone and I loved this location but my family and I will definitely not be going back to that location. read more

Cold Stone Creamery - The line - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - La Mesa, California

The sun crept out of the clouds for five seconds yesterday. A fine opportunity to haul my thermal wearing butt to an ice cream shop! We searched for the closest ice cream shop... because the sun may disappear soon and you know...it's ice cream. Unpopular opinion but it is a crime to deprive the belly from ice cream. So we pulled up at this store and let me tell you, the best last minute decision we've made this weekend. I mean really, everyone I passed had an ice cream scoop where their head should be but when I entered the store and my eyes immediately landed on a cake being displayed, I actually considered cake (gasp!). And that's not all, they offer milkshakes, ice cream cookie sandwiches, sundaes etc. This was my non-vegan cheat day so naturally I was in heaven the minute I stepped into this shop! The staff were super friendly and patiently let me try various flavors. If I was going to cheat, I was going to cheat good! God, it was so hard to decide. I even tried their dairy free sorbet (old habits), and that raspberry sorbet- one word; mmmmmm I settled for their signature sweet cream ice cream with pecans, brownies, fudge and caramel. Yes, I went all out! My mind was constantly running around which sweet dominated each bite! To end this review, I'll share a popular opinion: support family businesses. Cold Stone Creamery is a massive company but they have franchised several locations. This is one of them. Dilen owns this particular store and he is so sweet and passionate about his shop. I wish him all the best and to continue spreading his positive vibes and contagious smile! read more

This will be short and not that sweet. Please see the photo of my "like it" , somewhere over the rain-dough. $6.50 for such a small portion is honestly disappointing. Was waiting in line with my daughter and she put her hand down on the counter and ended up cutting her finger on a chard of glass. So we left and went to the bathroom to clean it up and went back and noticed that there was tons of broken glass on the counter right next to all of the toppings. The employee said she came in today and all the glass was like that and they need to tell their manager. But instead of cleaning up tons of glass, they just put the toppings out & continued to serve. Pretty sure that's unbelievably unsafe and probably a health code violation if not multiple!!! read more

I would give this Cold Stone location at the Grossmont Center no stars if I could. For the second time, the girl behind the counter (Tiffeny) Put a kids' scoop in a cup and dumped the topping on top. When I asked why she isn't mixing it She mentioned, that Angel the manager has asked them not to mix kids' sizes. 1. Don't you think that is very size they should be mixing? 2. Isn't that the only reason people go to Cold Stone, to get their toppings mixed on the stone? 3. Isn't that their claim to fame? 4. Isn't that why we pay more for ice cream? If I wanted a topping dumped on top, I would have gone to Rite Aid. I will be calling Angel then Cold Stone corporate read more

We love Coldstone and have been to many, but this place was awful. The service was pretty terrible. The employees were indifferent the whole time and acted like they didn't want to be there. The ice cream itself was decent, but even the food itself reflected the characterization of this place as it was just subpar. It was 68 degrees outside and this ice cream was melted by the time we finished it less than 5 minutes later. As I mentioned, we get Cold Stone ice cream a lot, and while it is softer than some brands of ice cream, there was no excuse for it being soup on a cold-ish day when I've had it last in 80 degrees before. read more

This location is very disgusting and unsanitary. This cold stone is closest to my home, and where I typically go for ice cream, but not anymore. Not only are the employees awful degenerate children, the store has an active insect issue. I have seen a cockroach in this location nearest the waffle cones that are left out over night. Not to mention my most recent visit, I came home with a blond strand of hair inside of my ice cream. I have filed a complaint with the city, and though I no longer purchase from this location, I am hoping they will be able to enforce a protocol for this store that is more cleanly. read more

Two stars because the ice cream is good. I tried to order something I was going to order online for pick up, in person. Even after showing them the items online with descriptions and the price, they still had no idea what it was. The gentleman in the back was on the computer and calling someone to clarify if they could make it. Had I ordered it online for pick-up as I originally intended, who knows what would have happened. I ended up telling the gentleman up front that I would just order something else because I didn't want to continue waiting. I guess that translates to I didn't want it anymore since that is what he turned and told the guy in the back. Nah fool, I do want it but ya'll are lost and I'd like to go now. read more

So I admit I MAY have something of a milkshake problem. I wouldn't call it an addiction, I just really like my milkshakes. You won't find me at the Burger King ordering one either. I have a few places I enjoy and I'm always on the lookout for new ones. This is a spot close to my house I know I can go to for a really tasty Strawberry shake. My son likes it here because they have all of the mix-ins. What kid wouldn't enjoy all those toppings? I've never tried the ice cream here, seems like a waste for me as I'm not a toppings fan. I do, however, enjoy their milkshakes. They blend them up nice and thick. The Strawberry one is my favorite, I pretty much don't see the point in ordering anything else now. Why mess with that perfection? And bonus, they don't kill the experience for me by adding whipped cream. Service here is always friendly. It's a small mall shop, so no seating inside. They are open pretty late on the weekends to accommodate theater goers, and those of us with late night cravings. They also have a cooler with ready made items available for sale. read more

I always like Cold Stone best when there's no wait. Each customer takes quite a bit of time customizing their treat, so I'm always glad when we walk in and there's nobody in line. On this occasion, I took my kids after school for a special treat, and there was no wait. We had a gift card, so I gave my kids the rare carte blanche to get whatever they wanted. Oddly, two of them declined mix-ins and one got a modest sprinkling of multicolored sprinkles. Strange kids, right? I got the raspberry sorbet, which was super duper sweet (and their only non dairy option). It made my throat itch but that wasn't Coldstone's fault. read more
