There was only one person ahead of us so it was a couple minute wait. One of us didn't like a matcha drink they ordered and asked for another drink. They gave us a new different drink. This is a nice big Starbucks in La Mesa in the same shopping center as the Vons. There is plenty of parking and they also have a drive through lane. There is an awesome outdoor seating area that was nice and quiet. Plenty of seating inside but it was loud. Everything was fine-ish...one thing that was strange is they didn't have any food items in display at all, like the whole display thing you're used to seeing is gone. I asked the lady at the counter if they served food and she said yes, I asked where they were and she very strangely, she said that they got tired of cleaning it so they got rid of it...? It was weird, I thought she might laugh or be joking but she kept a serious face. I wanted to eat something, but without seeing them, I just thought it was weird and decided not to eat. I wanted me Starbucks points for the purchase and she just gave me a receipt and said I can add it to the app, but don't see anyway you can actually do that on the app-so that was weird too. The place was clean and the outside seating was nice, that's as much as I can say about it! Ok so I am in NEED of a Dragon Fruit Refresher and a Chicken Jalapeño pocket (2 actually), I reach the drive through window (on Lake Murray)" and there are no Jalapeño chicken pockets so I just settle for the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher. I received the drink drove off, took a sip and it was HORRIBLE! I started to turn around but decided against it "too much trouble ". After driving a little further I decided to take it to the closest Starbucks to see if the could fix it and hopefully they will have the chicken pockets... However, while visiting California I stopped at this Starbucks and ordered a venti iced oat milk shaken expresso and I was shocked to see how much coffee was Im my Venti cup. It was more like a grande and when I went back to the counter to asked them why it looked so empty the cashier ( who was very nice ) expressed to me that it's suppose have space for foam??? This is my local Starbucks, great service. This location is in La Mesa Springs shopping center. It is nice to have a grocery store (Vons) and a Starbucks in the same center. Coffee in the morning and come back in the evening to get groceries. Most of the time, I get a dark roast coffee with steamed milk ( cold milk, well, makes the coffee too cold). I use a Starbucks cup to get the refill discount. I like Starbucks for getting coffee to go, but to hang out in, they are usually too crowded and not enough open tables. The only negative is there is always a few homeless people hanging around, but that is a San Diego problem. read more

I come AM and PM...more often it is the AM crew I interact with and they are beyond beyond friendly especially at the drive thru window. Today was a PM interaction and it felt pretty chill goin in, not very busy. I noticed that one of my drinks was ready right away but didn't look like they'd even started my second drink due to nothing really. They were cleaning things when I looked up, then I saw them stare at an order sticker and thought ok maybe now I'll get it. Wasn't really a big deal honestly. Then I saw it was ready and noticed one of my customizations was missing and it was the best one and most costly $$ add on to the drink. So I mentioned it to them and both of the staff had attitude about it and questioned me as if that wasn't part of my order. I even mentioned to them that it was paid for and listed on the sticker but they both still had to stare at the sticker before starting to fix my drink. No apologies either. Just heard them complaining about a drive thru order. They fixed the drink and that's it. Ambiance: Sad and not a good feeling when I left. Hopefully y'all can offer some re-training to these young baristas and maybe next time if they don't feel like being helpful, they can just take a moment and step off the front area to get their thoughts together before saying or doing anything that makes us feel bad for ordering stuff we look forward to at this part of our days! read more

This is one of those new Starbucks in a large building sporting a drive thru. It's very nice and roomy, but I was very annoyed that the power outlets along the walls were they have tables and chairs were all covered. I hope they are planning in fixing this issue because it good for those electronic devises. Also, the Wi-Fi had a glitch. It would work fine for a bit and then slow to a crawl. I'm not sure if it's the bandwidth or the provider. Anyways, I hope they address those issues. I had a Caffè Misto with a medium brew which was very good. For a snack, I had the morning bun and it was okay. I have to admit I have had better. This one for some reason had try edges and limited moistness in the inside. It tasted good, but the texture was off. I hope it was not and oldy because it was not a goody. The staff was very nice. They offer a long communal type table in the center with newly installed outlets on the floor. I really hope they fix the ones along the walls. I need power! read more

What a store and staff! Day one and it's like having family in a new house. Very clean AND LARGE INSIDE!!! Plenty of parking compared to their old location around the corner too. I expect David (who is the manager) to reach the stars in the area with this store. He may have pulled a lot of well trained baristas from other locations as I see a lot of familiar faces (which would be necessary to run this large store) And they have early morning and late evening hours as well. read more

This is my go to Starbucks every morning because it's the closest to my house but this is the first time I've gotten a coffee that's missing coffee it's not even filled up. Super disappointed in this Starbucks I guess I'll have to switch my route in the morning so I can drive by a different one since this one doesn't give you full coffees anymore. read more

The baristas do their best to keep the lines moving getting your drink out quickly. The staff here is amazingly efficient, pleasant and accurate with the orders. This location also has a lovely, comfy front patio seating area. It's very peaceful. Definitely do mobile pick up, if you have the app. This will undeniably save you some time. This Starbucks is exceptionally managed. David, the store manager is a strong leader and quick problem solver. We hosted the Boys State Program orientation this past Saturday at the American Legion La Mesa Post 282. As our guest arrived we had a mini-crisis with our coffee maker. I jumped on Yelp, found the closest Starbucks and called to order coffee for 140 guest. David jumped on the phone and quickly assisted. Within 20 minutes, I was back at the post with fresh Starbucks coffee. David and his team quickly assisted and we couldn't be more thankful. This is a bit of a newer location, and as usual drinks are good. What I like most about this location though is the layout. It's very spacious. I do think, though, that they could make more seating, and even add a couch and comfy chairs. They could really maximize the space and make for a more inviting place that would motivate people to stay for more coffee.... but that's just my thoughts. Today sadly (March 2nd) I woke up at 3:30 along with a few other cup collectors to get a first pick at the new cups coming out. There were about 6 of us lined up outside the store when the manager and a few workers walked in. We all tried to say good morning to them and were COMPLETELY ignored. From then on out the manager (who's name I don't know but had glasses and brown hair in a pony) she either hates her job or was Having a bad morning... either way, there was NO reason for her to be blatantly rude to customers that have done nothing. A typical Starbucks, but with a drive thru. I brought the boys here for drinks before we hit the freeway. They mostly just drink smoothies and lemonade, which Starbucks sells. The service is fairly consistent at any Starbucks, meaning it's always good in my experiences. They tend to be really patient with children, which I like. Yeah, it's a chain, but if people are nice to my kid I could care less. He really enjoys the smoothies and cake pops here. I can't say that I've ever had either, but he's a big fan. I basically just drink cold brew or iced tea and it's consistent from location to location. This Starbucks is fairly new, they relocated from down the street and now have a drive thru. I still think the old location was better since it was next to my favorite deli, but I'd come here again. There's a lot of parking as it's in the Vons lot. read more

She was on the clock and should not be speaking to costumers the way she is.
