Taryn was an awesome server. The decor at this location is beautiful but we just didn't like the food. In our opinion it's not authentic, tortillas were tough, and the grilled shrimp tacos could have been better if they had some salsa or something. Free street parking and parking garage available less than a block away.

We had put in our name at another spot near Barrio for dinner, but headed over to grab a drink at Barrio while we waited! We had a large group, around ten, so I feel like that is important context. 50th and France parking is always an adventure, but I'd recommend just committing to the nearby parking garage instead of circling and hoping for street parking. Barrio has a lot of space and is great for small and large groups! The space is minimalist but gives you the feeling of elevated Mexican to match the menu. Our group was sat at a large table in the back. Service was very overwhelmed during our stay, which created missed orders and slow arrival. At one point, we simply went to the bar to get drinks because it had been 20-30 minutes since we placed our order. The food and drinks themselves were great! They had my favorite Mexican beer, Victoria, and it was priced well! The queso comes with tortillas, which was an interesting choice, as you have to pay extra for chips. Overall, there are many better places in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't avoid this spot if you were in the mood for Mexican or if someone invited you there!

Live right up the road but hadn't been until stopping by for happy hour. The space itself is a classy, "business casual" vibe. Not that it stopped me from rolling in wearing jeans and a hoodie. It was pretty quiet and the staff was really friendly. Seems like it's much more of a late-night and lunch spot. The happy hour menu is pretty good with a huge serving of excellent guac and chips. It's the good, chunky kind of guac that lets you know you're eating avocado instead of some avocado-flavored mush. Well seasoned and comes with really good chips that hold up to the weight. They have a bunch of tacos as well and the vegetarian option was really good. Lots of filling, fresh tortilla, and I was stuffed afterwards. Didn't get a drink but they have some good specials on those as well. I'll definitely be back at some point!

Lovely as one would expect at 50th & France in Edina, though for suburban Latin food - it's all tacos, burritos and tequila, effectively - maybe a bit too much white-tablecloth ambiance for my taste. I did enjoy the hell out of the shishito peppers, crisp and hot. I would caution maybe 2 of 10 were truly spicy-hot, but my first mistake was in not ordering a cold Modelo, a perfect pairing with the peppers. My entree (see photo) was a chicken plate, good but I could do without chihuahua cheese melted on the chicken. Loved the black beans and rice. Our service was adequate, but he lost a star for not delivering a martini. My second mistake was ordering a Hendricks martini, up with a twist, and it never found me. The waiter clearly didn't know what that drink was. I mean, it's gin and vermouth, not some cutesy concoction with egg whites and dry ice. Eventually, the server apologized as it turned out they were out of that gin, or perhaps all gin, I don't know. Like a valet that can't drive a stick, servers of cocktails should know the standard drinks like martinis or why are you waiting tables? I declined a substitute for fear of what I'd receive. Otherwise, Barrio was just fine, and maybe a little better if one doesn't arrive thirsty.

We went to Barrio for a bday party so we had a bit of a larger group (8 ppl). They were able to accommodate all of us and got all of our orders in before happy hour ended! The server was also super friendly and recommended some drinks to us. The portion sizes were pretty small, but they were tasty! I would recommend any of the tacos, but probably multiple of them if you are hungry. It is a smaller restaurant and there were a lot of people eating at the same time we were so it was a bit chaotic at times to try to find our server. The walk to the bathroom was also confusing and had to squeeze around groups of ppl. Felt like a crowded bar at times! I still would go back, but probably during a less crowded time!

The wait staff was top notch, very attentive for our table of 6. They were always around but not hovering which was nice because we went through a lot of salsa. The salsa and guacamole were delicious as were the house made chips. The rest of the food for all 6 of us was was just fair. We had burritos, tacos, beet salad, chicken plate and a Cubano sandwich and it was all average. I would comeback for drinks and maybe just an appetizer but if I have a real hankering for delicious Mexican food this would not be my first choice.

Great atmosphere even if its only 3:13pm! There is no " happy hour" prices , regular prices for the 3p-6pm crowd. David- GREAT BARTENDER. Not yelling Would love to come back later in the evening for dinner one day That's all I got

Went during the Edina art fair and it was fantastic. Food was delicious and servers were kind. Great patio area and the windows are opened inside.

Tony was our server. He was great. Dining w my date who as a few of you know is vegetarian. Barrios did a great job accommodating with a great appetizer, slightly different guacamole. She got a burrito but way better than most and I make these myself so I was pleased too. I got a quinoa bowl and it was done tasty.

It's a cozy atmosphere, it doesn't feel like you need to be all dressed up to fit in. Now the food. My wife and I have been here twice. Once for lunch last week and tonight for dinner. On both occasions the food was outstanding. We were treated by a combination of fresh ingredients, a chefs eye towards delicious flavor profiles, great execution, and fair prices. Certainly keen to come back. I'd recommend the ceviche for an appetizer and if you're feeling spicy ask for the house hot sauce. It's a roasted habanero and it's awesome. For lunch I had the shrimp tacos and they were great also. I feel like I'm gushing here, but the rack of lamb and scallops were both also amazing dinner entrees as well. Lastly, every desert we've had has been tasty as well.

Owned and operated by three brothers, this family-owned restaurant serves incredible Ecuadorian and Mexican-inspired dishes. If you visit, you'll most likely be greeted and served by one of the owners, who treat you like family--wholesome and genuinely high-quality hospitality without doing too much. The service provided and the love poured into the food are comparable to none. I've frequented this restaurant several times, throughout several years, and I've never had a bad experience or a bad meal. Some of my favorite dishes here include: - Empanadas de Carne or Vegetariana: Beef or vegetable empanadas. These empanadas are pan-fried corn dough, stuffed with your choice of tender, juicy, perfectly cooked braised beef or fresh vegetables. The empanadas are served on a bed of roasted tomato salsa and crema casera. The crispiness and warmth of the empanadas, combined with the tanginess of the sauces, make this dish my absolute favorite. If you're undecided in the appetizer section, this would be the one thing I would absolutely make sure you order. - The guacamole is made with fresh avocado, tomato, onion, cilantro, roasted tomato, salsa, and served with crispy corn chips. It is one of their top-selling items as it is made fresh to order, and absolutely delicious as such. - The shrimp ceviche is another favorite! Made with a blend of tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and citrus juice, this ceviche is both juicy and packed with tons of flavor. It's the perfect light and refreshing appetizer. - The Tostones and fried yucca, each crispy and crunchy, are also excellent options for sharing or nibbling solo before your main dish. - The Carne Asada is one of my go-to lunches when I visit. Overnight, marinated steak is grilled to perfection and served with achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice, black bean purée, French fries, and a small house salad. It's good comfort food cooked with love and an incredible amount of - The Lomo saltado dish is sautéed beef tips that are very tender, rich, and flavorful. The combination with the red onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes is sensational. Paired with an achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice that waters your mouth, as well as a side house salad served with a tangy lime vinaigrette that will blow you away. - The Mexican Tres leches is my absolute favorite version! I've tried several, not all, across the Twin Cities, and this is always easily my favorite. A homemade cake soaked with a blend of three milks, whipped cream, caramel chocolate, and topped with crispy coconut flakes. This dessert is decadent as it is delicious. In addition to these dishes, Cahill Bistro offers happy hour Sunday-Thursday from 3:00-5:30pm with specials on appetizers and drinks. They also have daily soup specials and brunch on Saturdays. Cahill Bistro has consistently won multiple awards for best Latin American food in the Twin Cities, and for me, there is no debate about that. Cahill Bistro is my #1!

This was my first time having mote in a dish, which are boiled, peeled, corn kernels. They have a mild nuttiness, and a soft chewable texture which was very nice! I'm fancy, so I wanted something a bit more upscale. I did a little bit of research and wouldn't you know it... Colita came up. So here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set south of downtown and a bit west of The Mall of America on Penn Avenue is this gem. There is no private parking lot, but plenty of street parking to leave your fly ride. But once you walk up to the restaurant you can immediately understand the message they're trying to send. Everything looks so modern, straightforward with straight lines, grey colors and light woods. There is a small outdoor section where you can dine if you get lucky enough to land a spot there. Inside carries a very similar style with a little nod to the pueblos and architecture of the southwest. The decor is minimalistic and the "loudest" thing in the room is the live plant wall seated directly behind the bar, which was super cool. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but we had no issues whatsoever. Food/Drink: I was able to try so many different dishes and drinks here and the list is below... : Xochitl In Love : La Clandestina : Tuna Tostada : Chicken Tinga Tostada : Seared Scallops : Tlayuda : Colita Old Fashioned : Lamb Barbacoa Tacos : Duck Tamal However, my favorite things were the Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, Duck Tamal and Seared Scallops, in that order. We especially enjoyed how conversation-friendly it was here. If you're looking to catch up with a friend, this is a great option! As for the menu, you'll find both Mexican and Ecuadorian options. Starting with the beverage offerings, you'll see many flavors of Jarritos, agua frescoes, and some Ecuadorian sodas. I tried the Tropical, which was delicious. Pink and fruity, it was not too sweet and had a little dose of je ne sais quoi. I really liked it! I saw empanadas on the menu, and while I have had them before, never have I ever seen them served with sugar. Of course we ordered them. They were awesome. Exactly the right balance of crisp and tender, the pastry was a delight. (Definitely sprinkle a little sugar on it.) The salty cheese provided a satisfying little cheese pull and went beautifully with the sugar, too. They also go great with the hot sauce, which is a must-have. It's acidic and bright from the vinegar and has a satisfying heat that tickles the tongue and goes great on everything. The plato vegetariano was the epitome of simple and satisfying: potatoes in a delicious and herby sauce; a fresh salad of lettuce, onion, and tomato; a fried slice of plantain; a mound of perfectly-cooked rice; and a cup of beans. It was comforting without being heavy. The dessert menu featured familiar favorites and one that was completely new to me: higos con queso. While I went with the flan, I did get to sneak a bite of this unusual and intriguing dessert: the figs are poached but retain their firmness and are served with a firm and salty cheese. The figs and cheese come with the poaching liquid, which is not sweet but also not quite savory--it's got quite a depth of flavor and makes for a truly unique dish. I recommend it if you prefer to end your meal with something that isn't super sweet. (If, on the other hand, you prefer a more traditional dessert, the flan here is lovely: a bit sturdier than some you may have had, it's got the right blend of sweet and caramelized--it was just right!) Street parking is available nearby, but if you come later in the evening, it will probably park up. This is a great choice for families and friends!

I am a wimp when it comes to spice, but I kept putting little dabs of it on my food because it tasted so good. My partner used it on everything and even scraped the bowl out with his chips. My partner ordered a Burrito with roast pork. When it came it was very big, plenty of value for the money, and the flavor was AMAZING. The pork was juicy and so very flavourful. It was delicious. He also ordered a horchata. I am not usually a fan of horchata, but he is. I tasted the horchata and I loved it. It was very creamy and had plenty of cinnamon. I ordered the sopes barbacoa. Again, lots of food for the money. I have never had sopes before, but they were so good. The barbacoa was juicy and again, so very flavourful. We will definitely be back, many times I am sure.

Named for perseverance and determination, Ena is a Latin fusion restaurant harmonizing flavors from Central and South America through a French technical lens, with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. Chef-Owner Hector Ruiz's cooking reflects both formal culinary training and a clear respect for heritage, with sustainability woven into the way ingredients are chosen and treated. Seafood plays a leading role on the menu, handled with clear confidence throughout. The result feels thoughtful rather than showy, with hospitality that mirrors that same care. - Ceviche: A confident blend of Mexican and Peruvian influence. Chiles and ají amarillo set the tone, sharpened by pickled onion and lime. Balanced heat, clean acidity, and texture that stays true to form. Everything a ceviche should deliver. - Pasta de Langosta: Pappardelle with shrimp and lobster, well executed. Comforting without feeling heavy, this dish pulls together technique and flavor in a way that feels purposeful rather than indulgent. - Pescado: Blue and yellow corn-crusted red snapper paired with mole poblano and roasted tomatillo-guajillo salsa. The interplay of acidity, warmth, and depth complements the fish without overpowering it. Served over a crisp polenta cake with caramelized mushrooms, it's a smartly layered dish that stays focused. - Spanish Flan: a creamy vanilla custard with glossy caramel, accented by lemon-infused whipped cream and strawberry sauce, closed this meal on a high note. The cocktails strike a solid balance--spirited, and playful. The beverage list spans wine, cocktails, mocktails, beer, and seasonal offerings.
