3 Monster Wings Fried Okra
Gerald T.

First time at Barrel & Bones and overall, I had a really solid experience. The service was great--friendly, attentive, and on point from the moment I walked in. The food? Also good. You can tell they take pride in their BBQ; everything had that smoky, flavorful kick you hope for. I'm giving it 4 stars because while I appreciated the idea of an all day happy hour (huge plus), the execution fell a little short. They had a whole wall listing the options, but none of the usual go-tos like well drinks or anything comparable. The selection felt a bit too curated and didn't offer much range for casual drinkers or folks just wanting something simple. That said, I'll definitely be back to try more off the menu--just might skip the happy hour next time unless they expand the options.

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for lunch--parking is easy in the garage around the corner, so off to a great start. But then we walked in... and were greeted by a faint, but very unfortunate odor. Not overpowering, but definitely lingering--like a bathroom situation gone mildly wrong. My favorite bar used to have this smell, and it turned out to be the pipes. And yeah, pipes are a pain to fix... but no one wants to eat while catching whiffs of mystery funk. We sat at the bar (no purse hooks, missed opportunity there), and I quickly realized I'd been to another location of this spot before. Hubbs and I split the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese & burnt ends - a real winner!! Also we split a brisket sandwich with sausage, subbing loaded potatoes for fries. The sandwich and the potatoes were flavorful but the bun on the sandwich was cold like it came out of the fridge, and the potatoes could definitely have been hotter (they were slightly warm, but definitely not hot). Unfortunately, I'm just not the kind of gal who sends things back to the kitchen either, sooo... The real highlight? Denise, our awesome bartender. She was sweet, attentive, and had all the best recommendations. The locals clearly love her--she knew their orders before they even sat down. When we mentioned the smell, she claimed she didn't notice it but said it's likely the pipes and would pass it along to the owner. So here's the deal: the food is solid, the service is stellar... but dear owner, we know you know about this issue. Please, for the love of burnt ends and loaded potatoes, fix the pipes

Visited Barrel & Bones on a whim to get their hands on the jumbo wings. We ordered 6 wings (technically 12). These wings are humongous and 3 would be enough to nibble on with a side of fries while sipping on beer or any drink you may like as their selection of whiskey is the focal point of their bar. Service was average you expect from a bar-friendly and efficient. Definitely would like to comeback to try other smoked meats they offer but parking can be a struggle here sometimes. It gets busy especially on the weekends.

Solid place tucked inside downtown Carrollton. We were going to twisted root but saw this across the street and decided to visit here instead. Here's what we ordered: - quesabiria tacos: fantastic. Would order again. - Smoked wings: Would highly recommend the Buffalo flavor. I've been trying to find good smoked wings ever since our trip to Vegas, and while this isn't the best, it is very good. - prime rib: we got the chopped moist. It was good. - buffalo cauliflower: Also very delicious. Would undoubtedly visit again.

I want very much to re-visit for further research of this place. It's very promising and, subsequently, the new focus of my downtime "places to go". Solid staff and tasty food. Need more input. I'm happy to do the research. ;-)

Stopped by here with a friend after hanging out nearby and it was one of the few places in the area, with food after 9 pm. It seems to be a place for locals and those wanting to watch sports would probably like it on a game day. However this night the service was okay, we sat at the bar. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and my friend got the Almost Cuban. He seemed to have liked his sandwich, or he was just hungry lol. As for me, I enjoyed my sandwich I forgot to take a pic of it, but it had a big piece of chicken on it so definitely didn't skimp there. Additionally the sauce was interesting it wasn't your typical hot chicken buffalo sauce type. It was a bbq sauce with just the right amount of spice on it. I'd definitely get it again if I came back.

BCB is always looking for new beers to try, used the Untappd app to find this one at barrel & bones. The bar was nice & spacious. The beer options were limited that night but they had the one I specifically came for. The bartender was cool and the other patrons were very friendly. Great neighborhood spot.

$10 bottomless mimosas!

Let me start this review by saying, that Lexi is amazing!!!!!! Best customer service ever!!!!!! She deserves a raise. This place has $10 bottomless mimosa's!!!!! More importantly, the champagne and juice are separate, which is just how I like it so that I can prepare the mimosa to my liking. 98% champagne and 2% juice. I ordered the brisket grilled cheese with the loaded baked potato salad. The brisket was tender and very flavorful and the salad did not disappoint. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping here for a bottomless mimosa brunch.

First time in this area, and I will definitely return! The staff is very friendly, and the bar staff is knowledgeable about whisky selections for your specific tastes. The Cherry Ember Old Fashioned was freaking amazing!! Recommend it 1 million percent! tip- make sure you sit at the bar to experience the aromas and mixing technique for this drink! I had the nachos for my meal and everyone at my table said they were the best. It's a really big portion! Our server suggested getting the French fry version, but I loved the chips! Parking was open out front, and the customized bull grill was a cool welcome! It was pretty quiet around 7PM, after we ate walk down and check out some street murals by the silos

In other words, you'd never catch a glimpse of it by simply driving through town (thank goodness for Google maps!) and even many of the locals are unaware of its existence. We did manage to find it though, with hopes that the food would be worth the effort it took to get there. My husband and I both started with caesar salads. Other than being a little heavy on the dressing, they tasted ok. The pecan crusted salmon and mac & cheese were next for me. The coating on the salmon tasted like the same stuff a Thanksgiving sweet potato casserole is topped with. Unfortunately, that's the one thing I never touch because I'm just not a fan of the flavors. Unlike the salmon and salad, there was nothing objectionable about the mac & cheese. My husband ordered a filet that arrived really cold and underdone. It was closer to mooing than medium rare like he requested! Even after they took it back to the kitchen to cook it some more, it came back pretty raw. The chocolate cake we had for dessert was probably the best part of the meal. It was so rich and decadent that we didn't even miss the raspberry sauce (I assumed they purposefully left it out since we got it to go). Considering that the management here has opened and closed so many different restaurants in this same spot, you would think that they would be experts by now at running a successful establishment. But for some reason, they continue to put out the kind of lackluster food that can be found for a lower price at a major chain. At least they can boast having a beautiful view if nothing else.

She wanted to recreate a Mezcal drink that was phenomenal at Old Hickory in Gaylord hotel. From our description, the bartender tried her best to duplicate what we had. But the Mezcal drinks we had at Whiskey Moon were very good and we enjoyed them as a nightcap. The bar is located in the lounge of the Renaissance hotel. It is laid out nicely so there is ample seating at the bar or in the lounge. Service was friendly and professional. It's a bit pricey but I guess that is what vacations are for.

However, after visiting multiple times at different times of day, I don't think I'll be coming back. The food is fine and the coffee is okay, but the customer service has consistently been disappointing, and that's what ultimately ruins the experience. Each time I've gone, the staff behind the counter seem disengaged and uninterested in helping customers. There have been multiple occasions where no one acknowledges you at the counter, or they stay in the back and make you feel like you're interrupting them just by ordering. When they do interact, it often comes across as short or unfriendly. I'm not trying to make assumptions about the staff, but after repeated experiences like this, the environment just feels unwelcoming. It's gotten to the point where I can't even focus on working there because the overall vibe feels off. It's frustrating because this place could be great with more attentiveness and basic kindness in customer service. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently negative enough that it outweighs everything else.

Plays music from the late 90's to early 2000s of emo, rock, metal. Customer service has always been PERFECT on all visits fast and friendly. I will say on my last visit I realized they implemented a automatic 20% gratuity to bills which I can say I'm not a huge fan on that just in the event that service is bad.
