This is one of four Barnes & Noble stores left in the Las Vegas valley, and the only store in the Henderson area. This is a HUGE store and has a lot to offer, including a huge kids section, kids toys, puzzles & games, gifts, arts & crafts, and a Barnes & Noble Cafe serving Starbucks coffee. Additionally, there is a cafe seating area inside and an outdoor patio with seating. They do story times for kiddos on Saturdays (check their event calendar online (https://stores.barnesandnoble.com/store/2745) and the store offers a $5 book of the month with cafe purchase. They also host special events and author appearance book signings. I've never had any problems here and the staff is always friendly and kind. If you're in the market for a new book, I would highly recommend this store. Not just for the large amount of inventory, but the ambiance and special events. read more

BEWARE *** Do not let your young children roam freely in this kid's section. I am thoroughly appalled and angry at the complete lack of oversight by this store's management. They have placed an adult/teen horror title, The Book of Bill, directly in front of the puppet show and toddler reading area. My 6-year-old opened it, and my 10-year-old was so disturbed by the graphic, nightmarish imagery that they had to slam the book shut and told me they would have nightmares from it.There is absolutely NO excuse or reason for a mature book with a warning label stating it is 'meant for older readers' to be mixed onto a low shelf meant for small children. It is negligent to put terrifying, bloody content where a toddler can grab it while playing. Management needs to answer for this, fix this dangerous display immediately, and keep adult horror completely out of the children's play space. Parents, be on high alert here. I will be adding some pictures so you can see what your children will see if they get their hands on it. On the surface, this Barnes & Noble is a wonderful place for families--it has the massive variety of a library, a great Starbucks conveniently located inside, and a beautifully arranged space filled with toys, puppets, and activities for everyone. Because it feels like such a welcoming community hub, I sat down and let my kids explore the children's section, thinking it was a safe environment. I never imagined I would need to shadow their every step. Sadly, a great store can be completely ruined by negligent shelving and a total lack of common-sense oversight by management. Please do better. read more

I initially went in looking for 3 books. But as I started browsing , that became a little bit more difficult. There is no way to walk in a bookstore and only get what you're looking for. I did have to ask for help for a couple of the books because I couldn't locate them after walking around for awhile. She was very nice and helped find exactly what I was looking for. One of the books had $3 off as well so that was cool. It was a fun time in one of my favorite places with my favorite things. read more

This is a beautiful store and the staff are helpful and friendly! I have gone on my own and also have taken my grandsons there. My daughter loves to go also. They have a massive selection as well as gifts! The sales are pretty amazing when they run, too. I love shopping for books in person and this B&N is my favourite for this chain. The employees here are always really helpful and friendly. If you ask around with different employees, they're able to give you great recommendations for local and online sellers for vintage and used books that have gone out of print or aren't available for sale through B&N's warehouse vendors. While the prices are a bit higher (if you don't keep track of coupons) compared to prices at big box stores like Target and online warehouse slop like Amazon, B&N is conveniently located and offers a great community hub. I've made several friends out of the regulars who frequent this store, and we hang out and chat by the cafe for an hour or two. I love B&N's environment and the way it reminds us to slow down and forget about our to-do list for a little while. (There's also nothing like taking kids book shopping, and neither Target nor online warehouse undercutters can ever hope to replace that experience.) read more

Writing my review here since it seems like they took mine down the first time. I came here for the first time to browse for books and was racially profiled the entire time I was in the store. I felt so rushed and uncomfortable i checked out immediately. The staff is rude and and unwelcoming and now that I know they are taking down bad reviews I will never be coming back to this location read more

I have been on the hunt of getting Empire Magazine: Avatar Fire And Ash edition. While I called around the valley for the magazine, everyone was very dismissive. But the moment I called B&N in Henderson the rep was soo kind. The team knew how much this meant to me that they asked if they could take my name and number down. So when it became available they will give me a call. I want to give a huge shout out to Jonathan and the B&N team in Henderson for going above and beyond for your customers and keeping your promise. read more

The best experience ever! Everyone was so friendly and helpful and in todays climate that was such an improvement over what we usually get when shopping. I am headed back to my BN to find more books for my great grandsons. read more

I came in here today and just had one mission of buying this new manga series today unfortunately for whatever reason the workers decided to follow me around the store to make sure I wasn't stealing which is ridiculous when I spend hundreds of dollars at Barnes & Noble every year. Not once in the entire time that they followed me did they ask me if I needed help finding anything it was just solely to make sure I wasn't stealing. This is the first time and last time I will ever be visiting this location the one in town square has a better selection and nicer staff that doesn't follow you around because you're brown. If It wasn't for the fact that I really wanted to buy that series as treat for myself today after a bad week I would've left them behind because of the treatment. If you don't want to be racially profiled then I'd stay away from this location. read more

"Let us read, let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm to the world." Voltaire The words jump from the pages, can you visualize them in your mind. Dream big and larger than ever for your experiencing life. Do you ever want to take a journey from life or from yourself? Read a book. Now these days the printed word is a dying art. For us that are old school their is nothing like the feel of a great book in your hands. As you make your way through a "real life book store," get lost. The unknown awaits you. You can still procure the classics here. Who's up for an epic adventure? Take yourself to the depths of the ocean with 'Moby Dick.' History is a fascinating journey that is being rewritten. Come and view the original works. Let the words of Mark Twain ring for you and enlighten one: "a reader lives a thousand lives before he dies." Those whom can read and well live see the world and will be awake to the agendas that are necessary to their survival. When I was a wee little girl my parents encouraged me to read constantly, it was one of the best gifts that they could offer me. During my mothering years with my children, having home schooled them for over a decade the ideas flowed from books here at Barnes and Noble. For those that still have children encouraging them to read and to get excited about it will give them an imagination. Let them get lost in books. This particular Barnes and Noble offers many activities that can be enjoyed that are family oriented. Come and have fun with the family. Take their devices away and get involved with the kids. Sometimes they read those classic books to the kids here. Find out how strong Grover really is when you get to the end of the book. Does the 'Poky little Puppy' get any dessert. In our changing world we need some classic literature to ensue the difference among all the ideas going around. Take for example, Ernest Hemingway, his work has influenced and inspired many world leaders and people in positions of power. Have authority over your life and read? What if that book that your looking for is out of print or not in stock? They can order such hard to find works. How little we know? The staff here are well versed in forgotten knowledge. They can assist you with whatever your needs are! They stock so many different things aside from books too. Are you sending a letter in the mail, or perhaps need some stationary that's unique just to you. The children's area is beyond perfection. As a family come out and support learning and this business. Reading is important and dying. Read a book for yourself and expand your mind. Who's ready to get lost? Need some caffeine to stay awake while your uncovering lost secrets of the world. Have some Starbucks greatness to keep your mind occupied. They offer small cookies and cake to snack on too. It's nice and quiet for reading here too. Take that special book home and relax. Shall we go to a lost city? Is that just a lost city! Is Shangri La real? Is Xanadu real? Let's see shall we? We are absent with knowledge from the past. The opulence of unthinkable knowledge from book is unimaginable. Seek riches not in wealth but with words! read more

This Barnes & Noble used to be my jam. I used to live about 3 min away and could walk here in about 15-20min. I lived in NYC before this and it was a normal thing to just hang out at a book store, as if it were a library or a coffee shop, so I did that when I first moved here. However, it's not quite as accepted here as it is there but there is a Starbucks so there's that. I haven't been in, in a long time and it brought back so many memories and a longing for a long afternoon with a good book. I mean just the smell walking in made me travel through time. We came in and it was very busy because people were definitely doing some last minute holiday shopping (as were we). The order of stuff was a bit frenetic and very different than I remember but we were able to find the book we wanted. I will say that books are cheaper elsewhere, especially online, but it was nice to have the convenience of getting what we needed immediately. They even give out coupons for the café when we did our purchase. Nice touch! read more

What a wonderful find for a real life bookstore. In the age of digital everything, it's important to still have a physical copy of books. This store has definitely modernized and is a lot brighter and more organized than before. You can find just about any book from so many topics from cooking, history, anime, romantic novels, sports, and so much more. There's also a neat little section of gift ideas like for the sports enthusiast to the bohemian spiritual person. Candles, pens, notepads, and even fancy soaps for gifting or just for yourself. There's a Starbucks inside there as well. Do check the place out and maybe you'll find a new topic you'll be interested in! read more

Yay!!! So happy to see that there is an actual Barnes & Noble store here in the city of Henderson, along with Paper Source, and looks like they've got some vinyl... The location itself is very good, nice book selection and the people are very nice. However, I expect a much more clean environment. I have been coming to this location for about 20 years. The mens bathroom is disgusting and is never maintained. The floors, toilets, counters, ceilings are dirty, have broken fixtures, graffiti and uncovered outlets. I realize these are bathrooms, but I have seen the same broken lights/lights out, disgusting floors, walls and ceilings and graffiti has not been fixed for years. These issues were the same 2 years ago, 4 years ago...I have pictures for then with the same issues. Same exact broken light and uncovered unsafe outlet has been like that for years. Unsanitary conditions in the same areas appear to never get cleaned. Its just gross and unacceptable for employees and management to overlooks for years. It says "I don't care" read more

I don't know why I stopped coming here. Just distance I guess! But Barnes and noble is somewhere I grew up going to and love it and fell in love all over again. They have a vast selection of not only books, but nick nacks, journals, toys, magazines, stocking stuffers, dvds, records, Christmas gifts!! I walked out with a bag full of items and was able to do a little bit of Christmas shopping. I will say some of the books can be expensive but they are hardcover and good quality, things you cannot find anywhere. And personally, I prefer holding my book and reading it than scrolling on my phone. Nothing beats diving into a book not only mentally but physically turning the pages and feeling a hardcover. The employees were super kind and helpful and I love how depending on the section you are in they have other items you can buy that relate to that. For example I was in a journaling section and they had an aromatherapy for sleep help. The only thing that bothered me was the worker checking me out kept questioning my purchases and asking I knew how much everything was and if I still wanted to get it because of the price. I don't like being judged or having pre-conceived notions on if I can afford something or not when I continually complied to wanting the items. Other than that I will be back read more

October 24th visit around 7 P.M. review #60 of 2023 Meh... not what I expected based on my previous visits at B&N. We had a great worker that assisted us in finding what we were looking for. The checkout worker was not as good as the one who did help us. I asked if there was a Veteran discount and she gave me this dirty look. Ok... bad vibe for the price that I paid for these items. With so many brick and mortar stores going out of business, it's good to see that Barnes and Noble is still alive and kicking. Having physical bookstores is a must, and this remains a favorite shop of mine. I've been shopping at this particular location since they opened up in my youth. While I admit that I don't buy a ton of books anymore, the movie selection and the volume of sales that they've had since Best Buy stopped carrying movies has certainly made them a more frequently visited retailer than ever before. The most helpful employee I've dealt with is Darryl (hope I spelled that right) who has always helped me find the movies I've been searching for and informing me of good deals. The Criterion and Kino Lorber sales are great for film lovers like myself. The only reason I knocked off a star is because almost all books in the store are sold full price with no discount of any kind. Some of the standard movie prices are a bit high compared to other retailers, particularly online ones, but the sheer selection makes up for it. Book and movie enthusiasts will want this store to be on their radar. read more

The Mrs was looking for a particular book on Queen Elizabeth, so we stopped in Barnes & Noble & went straight to the customer service booth. The lady not only found the book in the computer system, but walked us over to the correct section & pulled the book she wanted off the shelf. Kudos to her, what a great help. It's nice to see a book store still thriving in today's world of computers & internet. Five stars! read more

I never leave reviews for placing but this needs to be said. I have never felt more uncomfortable and unwelcomed at any Barnes and nobles then I did here. I came to the store looking for a specific figure company that I love buying, and I'm sure many people do too, and it said online they had it in stock, so I decided to stop by. When I arrived and looked in the figure section I didn't see anything I was looking for which were "in stock and ready for pickup" online. So I asked the front workers and they claimed it was lost in Christmas stock boxes?! Which is fine I said thank you and decided to check again, I saw some boxes near the section and looked in a few of them just in case I could find it. But The security guard, bald guy with glasses, showed up and said "you don't need to look our team is already looking," and forcibly removed the box. It look everything in me to not rock this guy. He was rude and smug the way he handled it. I waited for about 30 minutes again and nothing. That guard and the unhelpful staff ruined my experience here and I'm Never returning, and don't waste your time here. read more

I love Barnes & Noble, and this store has so much potential, but it lacks grace. What is grace? I would say it is the ease of walking and finding something. This store is always leaving me going around corners to find something, and then walking back to see if I missed something else. There is so much unnecessary clutter of items. I like to be able to walk to an area and find what I'm looking for... crazy, right? This store is more loop-de-loop roller coaster than a straight pass through. If you want candles - they may be in 5 different places. If you want to find books - you must first bypass paper products. If you want to check out - you must go through a winding entrance very like a line to a roller coaster - but with lots of easy to reach fun things to buy. And my beloved little book/mini book display usually has a chair that is butted up right against it. I try to make it a personal policy not to straddle someone I don't know just so I can look at a display. The products are fantastic and the staff is friendly, attentive, and highly efficient. But, they really need to reboot the layout. If you want products - this is a great place. I am pretty sure it is also the busiest location in the valley. It is great, but it could be so much better read more

This a great location. It's spacious enough that you can find a quiet corner or hang out with toddlers/kids. I've been taking my kid here since she was small. The kid section is a great place to kill time since they have a little stage and sitting area. The new toy sections have neat novelty items and the paper section has great variety. The last of the dinosaurs, here in Las Vegas only 1 of 2 left. I was pleasantly surprised how well stocked this location was and the staff was super friendly and very helpful. The ease of movement here is very good the flow seems to work well. The aisles are very wide and well spaced out this is a huge store,I do believe this location in Henderson is the bigger of the two. The store has a Starbucks cafe attached to it also which was very crowded, when I went on sunday. The only thing I did not care for was in the back corner of the store was a lot of box's and shelving just placed randomly in there. The restrooms are up kept and very clean Glad to see the store is still hanging in there. I have many memories of going to my local Barnes and nobles with my family when I was younger. Unfortunately for Barnes and Noble the Cafe that serves Starbucks coffee has a store manager named Dannie (though she wasn't wearing any badge to identify herself) was so completely sour and dismissive. She said she was the manager when I asked. Initially wouldn't say her name even though I introduced myself. Her attitude was condescending and communication passive/aggressive. So embarrassing. My toxic trait is coming to Barnes and Noble when I still have a stack of unfinished/unread books at home, lol. I love this store so much. The staff is always kind and welcoming and the books and merchandise are kept neat and organized! They had their usual recommended books arranged by theme and table at the front, but I made a bee line to the psychology and personal growth section (your girl is trying to improve her mental health) I ended up with at least 7 books in my arms, but it would've been financially irresponsible to bring them all home, ugh. Magically, I dwindled it down to one book. Mark my words I will be back for the rest though, lol. When it came to check out, there was only one cashier helping out the customers. Although the line moved fairly quickly, it would've been more efficient if they had at least one more person to help the lone cashier out! Anyhow, I'm very excited to read my new book!
