My friend and I just happened to find out about this place while at another local business! Such a cute little spot downtown. Parking was easy on a Friday at 11:30am. Tip: On-street parking is free from 11-2 for locals on weekdays. The 5 stars is especially for the owner who helped us, who was so welcoming and gave us the rundown. She said she adds new vinyls every week. Although it's a small establishment, there appears to be a wide selection of well-curated books. Check out the website for more info, including events. This a small bookstore that has so much charm. There are clearly labeled different sections and even a few boxes with vinyl records. The book costs are reasonable and when I went there were some discounted. I picked up a fiction novel I've heard amazing reviews on. This store put on a pop up called roses for black history month. It was such a great event with different vendors, panel speakers, and even an art class. I believe they restock the bookstore on Thursday's as well. All staff was friendly and knowledgeable I am excited to come back and get some vinyl records soon. read more

Amazing gem we decided to check out due to word of mouth & social group Black Girl Mixer. This black owned bookstore is just what we ALL need & they have vinyl records as well. I loved all the young ladies who helped us and took the time to chat. They have a great selection of reading material and there's something for everyone. What a great space to just be in as well as the great selection of books etc. This was the first time being here but I felt at home the moment I was greeted as I walked in the door. I bought a few books for my daughter and my friend purchased books as well. I love this store so much! The space is tiny but very well kept and decorated, with gorgeous shelf displays and a vinyl rack. This store is a magnet for me and my brother every time we go downtown - I always end up with at least one new book, and my brother is starting up a small vinyl collection that has several beautiful pieces from Analog. They had a gorgeous Octavia Butler illustrated edition last time I stopped in that I'm still thinking about. They also have occasional sales that beat the prices at Writer's Block and Barnes & Noble and the staff are very helpful when you need help finding information about a topic or can't quite find what you're looking for. They also offer to order in books for you and offer a storefront on Bookshop.org to help us all save small booksellers from the plague of Amazon. I love the vibes and community built around this store, too. They attend community outreach events and host classes and community spaces here that they keep updated on their website and occasional milling list emails. Supporting them, supports freedom of ideas and opens up good conversations. I myself was drawn to a children's book that incorporated #MayaAngelou's poetry as an anthem to not fear being different or the way known. To start the store smells amazing, you walk in and are immediately put at ease. To continue the selection of books was a chef's lip smacking kiss. 100/10 book recommendations all around. To conclude the three gorgeous humans behind the counter had such a wonderful vibe. Okay, not sure how many times I'll have to say this but I love this place. I went in here looking for a specific genre to read. I wanted a nice thriller that wasn't too gory, but had more of a detective feel. The owners are always so helpful and recommended the perfect book for me. I haven't been able to put it down. I also noticed they sell incense and tea! What more can you ask for out of a book store. I tried the Gratitude Blend tea, and the herb mix was so refreshing. A perfect tea to drink when you are getting up and going in the morning, and pairs well with a good book. The incense immediately took me back to my childhood as soon as we lit it in the house. Love the diversity of products at this shop, and I never leave with a broken bank. All the products are very affordable and they even have a reward system so every purchase counts! read more

This place is amazing! I made an intentional visit while in Vegas last week, after seeing the raves that analog dope had on Yelp. I had the pleasure of meeting Charlie there who was incredibly kind and generous with sharing her knowledge about the Las Vegas creative scene, and it was a joy hearing about her artistic journey and the store's journey as well. The place is so cozy, smells like yummy incense, and has a feel of being home. The selection of books is incredible, I quite honestly had trouble picking just a few to take with me cuz I wanted to buy everything. Huge rec for these folks. This unassuming shack is a hidden gem. Honestly I would have loved to stay a chat the rest of the afternoon. This is a totally welcoming Afrocentric media shop with a small space and a wide selection. The shop keeps (at the time 3 generations of ladies - open and chatty - as if this was their shopped up back den) were super friendly, and we talked a bit about the collection of Negro Poetry by Weldon Johnson I decided to buy. If interesting and sometimes provocative reads (from the popular to the very obscure) and music of deep roots (from latest conscious hip hop and avant- beats to used 'Trane Lps) are your kind of candy, and warm conversation with total strangers who immediately make you feel like family sounds good, you may, like me, never want to leave.
