I am happy that I finally got to go to a used book store here in Vegas. I was looking for a copy of When the Wind Blows by James Patterson. I received a message back immediately and they saved a copy for me. I came and explored. They have tarot cards, stickers, and lots of interesting books to choose from. I think that the price of the books are reasonable. I would love to return and see if they have copies of books from other authors that I enjoy. read more

I love supporting used books stores, but I'll never come back to this one ever. I came in to trade in a stack of 14 books for store credit. The man behind the counter told me they don't trades from 6 - 8 for administration work. I was there at 6:15. I checked the website before I came & there was nothing on there about that, at all. I don't appreciate wasting my time or gas coming down there. So I won't be back. Their business is doing so well they can turn away people, so I'll take mine elsewhere. I made the mistake of watching 'We Were Liars' before reading it and let me tell you, trying to find this book was tough. But you know who had this book and was ready to go? Las Vegas Books. I'd driven by before, but finally had a reason to go in. I called ahead to double check they had it, they did, and I went and got it. It's a cute shop and honestly such a hidden gem. If you're a book lover, this bookstore is a must. I know some people get weird about the used part, but lemme tell you something, those books were in excellent condition and I work at a library, so whatever that's worth! Wow, what a hidden gem! This was my first time to the bookstore and I spent roughly an hour in there. They have so many well known books in excellent condition. Furthermore, the prices are such a great deal. I bought four books and will definitely come back to buy more in the future. Staff was friendly and the process of buying was easy and painless. The book sale yesterday was Insane. Hundreds of people waiting in line and being told that it would be a couple of hours to even get inside. Too hot but no big deal, I chose to leave. Today I went back. I asked for help in the occult section and the man said, what are you looking for and I said, Wicca. He says I am with a customer. I said OK, I will go look at the cookbooks and so i headed back down to the back of the store and I didn't see any of the ones I was looking for (Taste of Home mainly) Then I found my way back to the occult area, Lots of Jesus and Buddhist stuff...Not one book on Wicca/Paganism? That can't be so I assumed that I was missing them or they had them in another section, I said to a guy, can you help me and he said "I am with a customer right now" OK So, I waited, I wandered around a bit. Then there was a man and a woman sitting at the front and I said, Hi and they basically kept talking, I am not a quiet person--They heard me--so I left. EBAY WILL BE GOOD FOR WHAT I NEED. A surprisingly great used bookstore! Their selection was impressive. For fiction there was a lot of recent releases, as well as favorite classics. My husband and I both left with 3-4 books a piece. The price range was a bit all over the places. Some were a great deal, under $10, and some you would pick up and they wanted over $25-like brand new, full price, which for a used bookstore I am never looking to pay full price. read more

A nondescript "Used Books" sign on a quiet strip mall beckons the avid reader to venture inside. The humble exterior doesn't do the interior justice, as this store has aisles of shelves, all stuffed with titles of various topics. The store is very organized, with both the end caps and the shelves clearly labeled. All the books have printed pricing either on the back or inside the front cover, with many titles well below $10. I slowly browsed through the stacks, settling on a children's book for $2 and a autographed history book for $10. The 2 staff behind the front counter were working furiously to scan and price a large shipment, so there's always new inventory coming through. I will definitely be coming back to find new treasures down the road. read more

I was so excited to check this place out after seeing them on TikTok, and was happy to see that it was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. I love books (particularly fiction), and buy plenty of them used, so thought this would be a good destination for me. Unfortunately, their selection is severely lacking when it comes to anything newer than about 2002. The shelves are lined with Nora Roberts, James Patterson, and their equivalents, but the selection of modern books for younger people: very lacking. Most books were priced pretty reasonably at about $3.99 for a paperback and $5.99 for a hardback, but the only book I picked up and was interested in was apparently a signed copy/special edition, so they had it priced at like $40, though I didn't recognize the book or the author. The whole store is incredibly messy, with stacks of books all over, and a worker in the front was pricing a giant pile of what I assumed to be new donations. Don't get me wrong, they have a lot crammed in here, and if nonfiction, or housewife romance is your thing, this is a great store for you! Unfortunately, it is not for me. Staff was super friendly, and they also have a program where they can notify you if a book you're looking for comes in. Hopefully with their recent traction they'll be able to get some newer books in! We all know our city needs a decent used bookstore. So, I do feel bad about my 3 star review, but I feel there is hope, and I look forward to writing my next review later on with the hope that it's gotten better! read more

Okay so it's a bit rough around the edges, but the value on the INSIDE made the trip there well worth it. I think I left with 10 books for around 60$. I love supporting local book stores and would love to see young people sell/donate/trade books in here to expand the selection for all of us to find new treasures amongst each others well-loved old books. Both of the ladies who worked there were so kind, chatted to me and were helpful to all of the guests. They helped me look up and find things I might need and welcomed me to the city. They also told me the owner loved romance novels, which was cute and refreshing to hear because even though I love all genres, romance is So fun. Will definitely be back! read more

Where do I start. Brought in 10 books. It literally took 45 minutes for them to come up with a value. Whenever I got near the counter the owner snapped at me. It felt like getting yelled at by a teacher for no reason. After all that the credit amount for the books was absurd ($12) and it was only enough to trade for 2 overpriced dusty books. Don't blink, or you'll miss it. Small but plentiful bookstore in a strip mall that has seen better days. Staff is very nice and knows their inventory. Prices range from "What a bargain!" for the majority of the books to "Hmm, let me think about that one..." for some of their collectibles. Books are in very good condition, and quite a few look essentially unread. Although it does not (yet) have the coziness of the now-defunct Amber Unicorn bookstore, their prices are much better. I'm glad they've opened and I wish them much success. Well worth a drive, regardless of where you live in the valley. read more

I was very intrigued when this new used (oxymoron anyone) bookstore popped up on my radar recently. It was quite the drive from my house, but I arrived with some books to trade in tow and I was ready to browse my heart away. I like how organized they are and categories are clearly marked. I ended up selecting about 7 books after much debate. As far as trades for credit go... it's like any used bookstore. I knew my books retailed for much more, but I'd read them all and was ready to pass them on to the next person instead of letting them collect dust! Overall, I enjoyed my visit here! read more

Located in what seems to be a deserted strip mall and the store is crowded with piles of books everywhere, but has a nice old school bookstore feel and great for bookworms who want to browse for used books. Hole in the wall. I was in a pinch and needed to sell my library. I brought the entire library. The man who worked there bought $800 worth of books for $140, and refused to give me any more. He purchased an entire volume set of the religious text "The Zohar" that cost me $400. He purchased a controversial book called "Libido Domiandi" by E. Michael Jones that was valued at $150 alone. He purchased "The Old Testament Pseudeographia" in two volumes as translated by James Charlesworth which retails at the time of this review at $50. He purchased many more books from me that were of high-value, but rejected the majority of my library. He claimed that my 1954 edition of "Great Books of the Western World" was missing volumes, which it was not (he had confused it with the 1964 republishing). I regret wholeheartedly having accepted his offer, but I have been having such trouble finding buyers and needed cash. I will NEVER do business with this store again unless they change their ways. How ironic it is that the majority of the books they purchased were religious in nature. THIEVES! My only calming factor in this entire exchange is that someone else will get to read the books, which is more important than the thievery that has taken place here with what was sold out of my prized library. I should not have accepted his insulting offer by any means whatsoever, but I have to move on and live with the decision I have made. UPDATE: As expected, the store has replied to this review as they do all reviews of this nature saying that they only offer what they think that they can sell the books for. They and I both know that they will make at least $200-400 profit on the books that I had sold them. You can not play innocent. If you have any morality whatsoever, you will take most of that profit and give it either to the Catholic Charities next door, or some other charity helping the disparaged, but do not play ignorant and say you're only going to be able to make $140-200 off of the books I gave you, some of which were brand new as of October '23, and many of them ordered directly from the publisher. If you really believe that the price you offered me was not a rip-off you are lying to yourselves. Enjoy your outrageous profit you will make off of my books. UPDATE2: I finally got around to putting the rest of the books away after having sold them to this store. I have now found out that he had taken some sets but not the entirety of the sets. I have now three books left in a set of Willhelm Reich works. He also didn't take the Tahmit Zohar (a three volume book of commentary) despite having taken the near-mint condition Zohar for hundreds of dollars less than its worth. I wholeheartedly regret yielding to this man's low-ball offer, and am further offended that when I made this initial review he *lied* and said he doesn't expect to sell the books /he chose out of my collection/ for more than what he gave me. I should have told him his offer was an insult (which it is, and would be to /any/ book collector) and taken my books out of his store. He knew I needed cash, and he exploited this fact. I can not say enough things about how I was offended, and I believe it likely that if I went back there to repurchase what he has taken from me I would be paying full price. As I already said, if the man truly believes he can not turn a profit (on-top of the $140 he gave me) of at least $200-400, then the man is a moron and does not belong in the bookselling business. Yet it be in that Christine value of Forgiveness that I move on from this situation, and forgive the man for this rip-off. I will not do business with this man again, and I have done my duty of warning others about him, but I ease to abandon the grudge and forgive. Goodbye forever, Las Vegas Books. read more

I was greeted by friendly knowledgeable staff. Good selection of books, even though the store is a fairly recent addition to the area. I LOVE this bookstore! Happened across it while driving down Eastern, and there it was, a new Nirvana. The owners are very friendly and are willing to take your name and notify you when they get in your preferred authors. I've asked my husband and son to do all their shopping for me from here.
