    The exterior.

I came to the Sci-Fi Center to see a play in the small theatre in the back of the store. While I was waiting for the house to open, I looked at some of the things they sold. A fair number of DVDs of various sci-fi movies, sci-fi comic books, and many figures from the Walking Dead. I had no idea who the characters are but they have them. The theatre in the back is less than 50 seats so, yes, you would call it an intimate theatre. No bells and whistles--just some theatre style seats, five rows deep and four on each side of an aisle. The seats are mounted on some risers so there's a good view of the stage. For this performance, a curtain was drawn across the front to cover the white screen used for showing sci-fi movies. For this play, that was more than adequate. Periodically there are small plays mounted here and now that I've been here, I won't hesitate to come back! Great job to the two who performed in "A Life in the Theatre!"

    Here for Picard premiere!

I went here for the first time to watch a premier that was offered as an "event" for free. There is a small foyer area that has a comic book display to the right and a button wall to the left, along with a long counter island with more merchandise and it serves as a check out counter as well. There is a large back room that upon entering to the right consists of a makeshift staging area with a sheet backdrop and about five rows of chairs, and to the left more comic books and misc. merchandise. It looks as if he is still in the process of organizing and setting up shop at this location. Being it's my first time here I don't want to presume anything. I would hope however that the place will get better organized and presentable to the public. I'm not into comic books so I cannot comment on the merch or prices. I simply went for the premier. About a dozen people were at the premier as well. After looking at other pictures posted, he occasionally has some sci fi "guest stars" at his store for book signings. It is small and in need of some decorating and organization TLC. I hope him the best of luck getting his business in order at this new"ish" location.

    The cast of Bad Alice.

What a fun little spot for locals. I had been to there older location in commercial center years ago and came here for the Bad Alice play the other night. The play was crazy, ridiculous, and had me laughing at all their nonsense and bad acting. I loved it! You can buy snacks and sodas before you go in for a very reasonable prince. The Sci Fi center itself I feel needs a little work. It is extremely hard to find at night. I took an Uber and we all had trouble spotting it and almost missed the turn into the parking lot. They need a larger sign or something! When you walk in though you have an awesome collection of comics and other fun stuff to look at. I was late for the play so I rushed in and didn't get a chance to look at everything like I wanted. Next time! The one real complaint I have about the theatre is the seating. I'm 5'3 and my friend is 6ft and neither one of our feet touched the floor. We sat in the second row two on the last two seats. It made it extremely uncomfortable to sit in the chairs. My feet were dangling above the ground and when it was finally time to get up my back and legs were honestly killing me. Maybe the other seats were better if I go to another play I'll get there earlier to get a better spot. Overall it's a fun little spot and if you have never been there you should at least check it out once.

Bought a cool piece of my girl Michonne.

First, let me start off by saying, William is an awesome guy. His love of Science Fiction pales in comparison to his love of LA Kings hockey. We bought a few items including a piece by a local artist depicting my girl "Michonne" from The Walking Dead. They also sell comics, dvd's and action figures. They also have a small theater and they have screenings (like Game of Thrones episodes) which is awesome for tourists without certain chanels in their hotel. Cool place and cool guy running things, this place is definitely worth a visit. UPDATE: We drove off without my dog's water bowl. William called us to tell us that so we turned around and picked it up. He even came out to hand it off to us. I'm telling you, if we lived in Vegas, we'd hang out with this guy and go for his screenings fairly often.

And I thought there'd just be some folding chairs! Cool!!!!

What a fun time!!! When reading past reviews, it's hard for me to tell which version of the Sci Fi center is being reviewed as it's had three locations that I know of. (2 on east Sahara and the current is off west Trop on Arville). I'm not nearly as knowledgable about these "geek" genres as most of the comic con attending crowd but I love film and that's why I attended...and boy am I glad that I did! The screen was surprisingly large and I was really surprised that theater style stadium seating was present as well! This definitely has a gritty indie/grindhouse type feel and that's exactly why I liked it so much! The proprietor, William, was really friendly and I'm glad that there are people like him putting on events like this. I attended the Italian horror double feature and will definitely be back! I'm pretty sure this is the closest thing to a grindhouse that exists in the valley...and even if not, I'll still come back here!

Could we be as great as our opponents in the comics? We lead lives that are filled with strife and chaos. Sometimes we want to hide and let fear rule our destiny. Here's a reality reminder you are amazing and can do anything? Ok, let's play some! We cannot fly or ride the lighting? But within the rules of our world we can do more than you think. It starts with a simple goal. You have that nagging question? Yes you can! Look at this amazing project. A comic book store . A place here that provides an alternative opportunity for us humans to escape . You can achieve, just believe . What do you seek? Come in and browse through the entire store? You might find something that takes you back to when you were little? Don't get me wrong, you are never too old for comics? Or maybe you are ? Perhaps that's an alternative reality? Shall we find out? We are always on the journey for self improvement and reflection. While shopping with my daughter I rediscovered the importance of being my self . Was this what I used to be like? The redirected energy of dark to light . The battle that we endure each day ! The Phoenix Saga always touched upon me . Recently I've been reading and rereading them playing the mantra of her message . That inner battle and strength and struggle that Jean Grey goes through to find balance and inner peace . Ultimately she absorbs and makes them bind together as one union and it makes her whole again . All comes to pass. Sometimes this is what I own with all that comes and continues to pass through me . I'm that one that steps back and makes it all great and sparkle. Let's go and make it the best it can be. If not just ask and it can be found . What was broken, will ultimately be your reality again.

She was so knowledgeable of MTG, and was super excited that I was starting to get into the game. She was the absolute best! However, I went here again, alone, during my lunch break to buy a couple of single cards and some boosters, as well as ask a couple questions about commander decks. The guy that helped me, a taller guy with long, dark hair in a pony tail, was an absolutely massive drillbit. He was super rude, very dismissive, and seemed like he was really annoyed with me asking questions. He threw the singles I was buying down on the counter without a care in the world, and they were foil cards; like, come on, man? I'm buying those, and those aren't cheap! And, when I had asked if there were any snake-based commander pre-cons (again, I am newer to MTG, so this was a genuine question), the same guy didn't even hesitate to respond extremely rudely and dismissively. The owner is also a super cool, stand up guy, and the first girl we had met at the counter was absolutely wonderful. This person I had interacted with at the counter today really put a bad taste in my mouth, questioning if I should come back again if he's going to act like that? I wish I could have gotten his name. Thank you to the owner and that girl (I also wish I had gotten her name) though, for making my first experience at Action Comics a great one. This other guy needs his attitude to be put in check. He was such a goober, and not in the good way.
