The book we did end up choosing was a good deal and had an extra discount on top of it so that was nice! This is a beautiful small owned business and everything an out this place is beautiful. The owner I met today was Wendy and she is truly a gem. Fun to talk to, sociable, and so so so so helpful. They have such great selections of books from non fiction to fiction, etc. they also sell cute trinkets from HP wands , local art, etc. This place is very homey and almost like a time capsule on its own. It's beautiful inside and cozy. I wish we saw some of the resident cats today but none were there as per Wendy. Also , I learned the history of how Copper Cat Books came to be... thank you for sharing your story Wendy! I don't know why it took my years to step foot in here and that I regret so much but I'm glad I did it today because I will be coming back now. Okay sooo I'm literally ridiculously happy with my trip to Copper Cat Books. It's bright and welcoming with well organized shelves of used books just waiting to be discovered by you... you can't help but notice the Young Adult nook complete with Harry Potter section & accessories (go Gryffindor!!!) just as you walk in... did I mention a nice selection of Nancy Drew?! And you can just SMELL them waiting to unveil their troves of adventures and secrets. They have a little bit of everything there... classics like Chaucer from the $60 range in EXCELLENT condition and worth it!!... to $5 books of ALL genres... Today I met Jay, who was incredibly knowledgeable, very courteous and made an amazing suggestion that hit the nail on the head so to speak... I have always loved Coppercat books and had my first date with my fiancè here when we were high school sweethearts! I cannot recommend it enough. This past summer Joe and Wendy helped me locate and acquire an out-of-print book after years of searching. It's a title that is significantly difficult to find and I was unaware that they offered services where they searched for rare books for you! Since reading, it has secured a place in my top 5 of favorite reads and the price they offered once a copy had been found was far more reasonable than most listings online. Review #500! I love reading and have several books in my collection. I had just gotten my nails done a few doors down from Copper Cat Books and I decided to check them out after my appointment. If you're a bookworm, then this is your place. Though most of the books here are used, they are still in great condition. They have many choices to choose from, ranging from fiction to young adult. They have one book cart outside where books are discounted for $1. Other discounted book carts can be found inside, ranging from between $3 and $5. There is also a small room designated for Harry Potter books and other children's books. Author signings take place here, too. I bought four books and they only cost $27 - what a nice deal. The guy that rung me up also gave me a free small piece of candy. They have a cat that hangs out here as well, but I didn't see him. I guess he was hiding from everyone. Maybe I'll see him next time. In these times where bookstores are going/have gone extinct, they are doing a great job staying in business. read more

A great collection of cool books! I especially love browsing the poetry and classics sections. They seem to blend a mix of used and new which keeps things interesting. If you follow popular bookstagram choices, they have some of those in new or perfect condition in their large Fiction aisle. Recently, I acquired a gorgeous copy of The Count of Monte Cristo. Wendy has been very kind to talk books and Harry Potter the last couple times I stopped in. I'll be back to browse again soon! read more

I love checking out locally owned bookstores and stopped in here on my birthday to check out what this store was all about. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The store was clean, well lit, and well organized. It felt light and airy and just had a good vibe to it. There was a local author there with some of her books and she had a nice display and was also super friendly. I'm not a romance novel type of guy so didn't but anything from her but it was good to see the store uplifting a local author. Didn't see the store cat but that's okay. I'll gladly stop back in the next time I'm back in Vegas. This is worth the stop even if it's just for the wonderful people who work here and to enjoy the atmosphere. read more

Parking is easy - lots of well lit spots. And not a lot of walking! The shop is very well organized and has a good mix of Teens, Classics, Sci-Fi and other genres too! The Employees are all very friendly but if you just want to browse there is space for that too- no one follows you around continuously asking which is a comfortable browsing experience. Highly recommend ASKING if there is an author or genre you are looking for as there are MORE BOOKS than what you see on the Shelves. First, the website says 30% off all books without ND (no discount), but when I got there the worker said it was 15%. He did say he would honor it, which was nice, but still a bit disconcerting, especially because it was Black Friday. Second, if I had to guess, the vast majority of their books are ND. Every book I looked at was no discount. From beat up old copies of goosebumps to a slightly stained copy of to kill a mockingbird. So, don't expect to actually find anything that qualifies for a discount. Honestly, as much as I'd love to support this small, local business, this used book store is just too expensive. That copy of to kill a mockingbird, was quite literally the same price as a brand new copy, delivered to my door, from Amazon. Nice store inside and nice enough workers, but used copies shouldn't be the same price as brand new. Sorry to say, I can't see myself coming here again. read more

This place is just adorable! I dont read books much. But i picked up some rings :) The employees are ridiculously friendly & i didnt feel like i was being stalked like i normally do in some other book stores. Super cute place with tons of cat pics // art all around. They have seating & a variety of genres to choose from! I was stuck in the cookbook section for a while before leaving. Very neat seat up they have. Nothing feels cramped. 10/10 would recommend! While i was leaving after my purchase they even offered me candy! How sweet is that?! read more

Came out of breakfast and saw in the corner of my eye a bookstore!! LOVE bookstores so we had to go. Walked up and see they have a cat inside!Bonus points!! This bookstore was amazing, immediately fell in love with this adorable store filled with books of literally all genres you can think of! Lots of old vintage books and plenty of new ones too so there is a book for everyone. I love old big books on history, fashion, anything that goes well with decor and those types of books can get VERY pricey. Copper Cat's books were reasonably priced and I ended up getting 4 big coffee table style books for 42 bucks! Taking home the W if you ask me! This is such an amazing place. I love used bookstores, I always have, because you never know what you are going to find, but you always find a treasure. The couple that runs this bookshop are kind, helpful, and more than willing to talk about any subject with you. While I was browsing the shelves I heard them search for and find books for other shoppers, and if they didn't have a specific title, they always offered to order it. I would come back for the pleasantness and book talk alone. The shop itself is well organized. There is your general categories, like children's, YA, fiction, and biographies, but also categories like paranormal, vampires, and UFOs. They have older editions of books and new ones, all varying in condition, although all of the books are clean. I ended up getting 4 books on my first trip. One of my favorite finds was a 90s style "Goosebumps" book with the raised lettering. I'm excited to come back in the future and exploring what books will be on the shelves next. read more

They have a wide variety of books (great travel and geography section) and apparently a warehouse of thousands they can pull from if you don't find what you need. I've been meaning to check out this place for a while now and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I admit that the bookstore was a little smaller than I thought it would be and I didn't think I would find much. But I was wrong and happily so. Great selection of books and even greater customer service! There's a nice variety in genres -- nonfiction, cookbooks, fiction (sci-fi gets its own shelf!), young adult, children's. The shelves were organized so neatly and every time I went back down an aisle, a new book stuck out to me. There are many used books and most are in good condition. New titles are also available and I believe they can even order in titles from their warehouse. I was also told that donations are accepted. Will definitely be coming back! read more

There's nothing like a used bookstore. I could easily spend an hour in here browsing the racks and I have. It's a cozy spot with lots of literary decor. I like that the Young Adult Fiction is in it's own room, so they can browse on their own. The space is also decorated with art from local painters, available for sale. As the name implies, it's a pet-friendly space, with guidelines on the door if you have your fur-baby with you. Bonus points for having great sales here- highly recommend coming here to pick up new reading material rather than ordering online. Not only do you avoid the time and fees for shipping, but the used prices are really reasonable here and you're supporting a great local business. I came here looking for books to use while writing a paper for geology class. They didn't have anything helpful. The young man who helped me was extremely friendly and seemed really into his job. The store had some interesting books about gardening, but they were too expensive for me. This store had a lot of older books. I love this place! My boyfriend and I stopped by this bookstore and were surprised on how nice the book selections were. The owner of the store was very hands on when it came to looking for books and engaging us. We were even able to order The Giving Tree from them in "like-new" condition! Finally found my ABSOLUTE favorite store in all of Henderson!!! This place is literally around the corner from my house and I wish I found it sooner. My daughter and I are big Harry Potter fans and we didn't even get past the register. The woman who was there helping us was soooooo helpful and extremely polite and friendly! I've been wanting the whole Harry Potter Set for the longest time now but could never come around to paying the extreme cost for the hardcover set. Tonight I walked out with the entire hardcover set, some very nice quality wands, some crystals and some other things all for under $100! I didn't even get to check out the rest of the store because I was blown away at what was happening! Hands down, the best customer service I've received in Henderson since moving from San Francisco. I cannot believe I forgot to review this place. I called a few months ago because I was taking an exam and needed some study guides. The proprietress did not find any in stock but offered to order it for me. I know this is a thing that bookstores normally do, but my order arrived precisely when I was quoted, at the [unbeatable] price I ordered it at, and the service was memorably efficient and friendly every step of the way. I got exactly what I paid for, and would recommend this business on my order fulfillment experience alone. The shop itself is pretty wicked too, though! I spent well over an hour just combing through stacks of books organized by topic. I got some cool reads I'd been searching for, and I'll definitely be back. I am a writer currently working on two projects; one a memoir and a screenplay. I was in need of some reference books which includes poetry and novels by Charles Bukowski and Yukio Mishima respectively. As soon as I walked in I knew I found a place that was warm and inviting and had what I needed. But what made me a lifelong customer was the feeling of welcome was when Wendy came from around the counter to greet me. Once I told her my needs, she knew right away the authors and where they were. She told me that they had an offsite warehouse that would have the books that weren't in store. The prices were incredible and the service bar none. The young woman who greeted me so was so lovely and kind and informative. I just moved here and I love book stores and was so excited to visit this one. As I browsed, however, I was distracted by the older gentleman and the older lady sitting at the counter and their conversation. The younger clerk was answering phones and working hard and the older woman was conversing with the man. It was hard to concentrate. Then he proceeded to ask questions to very young teenage girls who were accompanied by their mother until they left, when he promptly insulted them. I felt very uncomfortable with the way he carried himself and the fact that the owner did not seem phased by this at all. Customers, particularly young women, should feel safe in a book store. And as business owners, wether you are friends with other customers or not, the environment did not feel safe. For that reason, I am not sure I would want to go back. Please be aware that even as an owner with the right to converse with all, your silence in allowing others to make customers feel uncomfortable is very loud. read more
