My girlfriends and I were so excited about this new Mexican restaurant in the Pompano pier area. We planned our afternoon around it. The atmosphere is wonderful. Outside there is a view of the beach and large fans to carry a breeze. The inside is very well done and beautiful! The food is less than average. I have a feeling that there is not a Mexican chef in the kitchen. I am well-versed in good Mexican food and having travel to Mexico and spending a lot of time in California and Texas. The food was just a step above terrible. We had the sliders the fish tacos and tuna guacamole appetizer. We asked for chips and salsa and guacamole. Guacamole and chips and the tuna appetizer were decent. The drinks were ok . The service was so slow and there were only three tables of people outside on the patio. It's a shame that they put so much money into the ambiance but not into the chef!! When they announce a new chef I will return!! read more

First impressions as the newest spot in town were not great... especially for a place opening across the street from a restaurant that regularly has a line to get in. Service was bad, menu is all over the place and not authentic Mexican as advertised, and drinks aren't great plus they're small and more expensive than neighboring restaurants. I plan on giving them another shot but they dropped the ball on things that should be highlights of a new place opening up. read more

This restaurant is brand new and the food and service were spectacular! we had Javier as our waiter, he was fabulous! The food was very well presented and came so fast. We had a tomato and avocado salad appetizer and entrees of shrimp and chicken fajitas and they were delicious! For desert we had the chocolate chipotle brownie with ice cream. The sauce was a tiny bit hot (chipotle influence) and added to the great chocolate flavor was a nice combination. Signature cocktails are unique and well thought out--they are unlike anywhere else around. We will definitely go back soon, probably in the coming week! read more

Let's start with how pretty the restaurant is. Great decor, good breeze at the outdoor bar. It should be amazing. Specially drinks have never been tasted by a real human. Can not drink and sooo expensive. If it was great it would be worth it. Bar stools. I am 5'2 and 120, my butt barely fit and they were so uncomfortable. Could wait to leave. Food. - ate here 5 times hoping they figure out they are a Mexican restaurant. No bold flavors, no heat, blande. Ordered chicken enchiladas. Boiled, bland chicken with no sauce. Lettue and cheese. WHAT!!!! Come on it is a basic. How can you make this with no flavor. I am I shock everytime I have gone here. It has the potential to be an amazing spot but get a chef who can taste the food. The location is the best thing about this place. The food is not authentic Mexican food. The drinks are below average. The cost per item is high compared to other local Mexican places. Service was terrible. Server had no idea how to use the handheld. Then disappeared for a long time. He could've sold more drinks but decided he didn't want too. We went for the summer locals special--a prix fixe menu for $25. Thé food was really good and the service was excellent. Josh the bartender was friendly and efficient. The steak tacos were flavorful and the classic margarita was fresh squeezed and as good as I make them at home. read more

New place in Pompano, great location and atmosphere but way over priced. $20 for two small tacos. They were pretty good but not any better than the Gordita Crunch at Taco Bell. No chips and salsa offered to the table, you can order but only as an appetizer... that's lame. We sat out on the patio, it's nice but the dining furniture is terrible!!! Disappointed but we'll probably give it another shot because of the location. read more

I'm a fan of quality assembled Mexican cuisine with strong and complex fresh spice taste. Baresco offers a beautiful presentation but I found the taste in three of the four ordered dishes to be somewhat bland. The beautifully presented guacamole with bacon lacked a punch of flavor. The corn chips served with this appetizer lacked that homemade taste you find at Houston's or my favorite (albeit noisy) Mexican Restaurant El Camino on Las Olas. The chicken wings although tender seemed neither fried, baked or grilled. The skin was clearly not charred. The taste of the meat was only enhanced by the mango dip and side of cilantro dip. I think the beautifully presented taco salad was somewhat ordinary. The ceviche was a stand out! This restaurant has two appealing bars and a terrific interior design. I visited yesterday..... on opening day...... with a large presence of managers and very friendly staff. The service by Avery was just terrific! read more
