I came here on the recommendation of a local for a place to eat while I was in town for business. The food was all pretty good. The menu interesting, but I have to give a low rating for the slowwwwwww service. The hostess was obviously bored and took her time clearing tables. This was less offensive than the beyond snail's pace of my waitress. She was very sweet and had a nice demeanor, but she was so slow, I thought she was the only one waiting tables. Until I noticed the other waiter with an apprentice manning half the tables. First, I was pointing to draft beverages and she steered me to a bottle without informing me. Ok. This happens. Whatever. I was the one asking about ciders on tap. I'm moving on. Then, she takes one million years to come back and see if I'm ready to order. She finally takes my order and I'm essentially done with my cider by the time someone else delivers my food. There was a long stance of time where my phone wasn't distracting me enough and I was sitting with my elbow on the table holding my chin up and staring at everyone waiting for my food, another beer, some water....anything!! No one ever offered me water. No one apologized for the wait. Nothing. No one even offered to get me another drink when I obviously placed my empty glass in the middle of my table. I probably would have ordered at least one more drink! Oh, and no one was around for me to ASK for these things! I was essentially done with my burger by the time she came back to check on me, and I was too annoyed to want to stay for another drink. I was so frustrated because the food was delicious, yes, but I could have had an equally delicious meal with more pleasant experience and service somewhere else. I feel like I totally wasted $30. Yes, $30 on one burger, one bottle of hard cider, and a side of rings and sweet fries. I would have been more satisfied with a fast casual experience at the same menu and price point. read more

Very Expensive for a Burger! $53!!! I WILL NEVER spend that amount of money again on burgers. My son and I decided to order burgers made to order, instead of some of the fancy ones on the menu. Two bacon cheese burgers with fries. (One was bison burger). Add lettuce, tomato, bacon, pickles an order of fries to share, bbq sauce and two sodas and now you have a $48 bill for dinner! I get it that it's organic and it costs more, but with tip, I spent over $53 for two burgers, fries and a soda! The sodas were not regular soda, it was some Organic weird tasting, almost RC cola tasting thing. I wanted to send it back for a lemonade, but we were in a hurry and thirsty. I figured it was a fluke issue, so I went back to give the food another chance. I was under impressed by the food. It is sub par, especially for the price tag. It is not even a quick bite. It still took quite a while to get my food out. If you're looking for a sub par "organic" burger that takes a long time to get out, then this is your place. This is our second time at a bareburger, the first was in NYC. Both times were a good experience. Yesterday we went for a late lunch and it was near empty. We sat outside and our server was great! The menu is both vegan and regular but almost everything is organic. I got the turkey burger with avocado and sprouts on it and it was yummy. My husband got a burger and it was basic burger but good. We split fries and they have good dipping sauces. We also split a chocolate shake and that was yummy. (when we went in the city it was christmas time and we got a peppermint shake that was also great) The only downfall is the price but you are paying for the organic/vegan aspect of it. It had been a while since I came here for an event and since MR ( mad Russian) was going between offices, we decided to meet for lunch. I recognized Gabrielle from the yelp event and she was kind enough to seat me. I opted for us to eat at the bar so we could take in the whole restaurant. I had a few minutes to wait so I decided to have a beer that was both fresh and cold. The bartender brought some menus to peruse and I saw that there were so many options... elk, bison, duck... you get the picture. Burgers, sandwiches and salads to suit any lunch craving. There is also "build a lunch for $13" deal that seemed like a good deal and as it turned out, my lovely date opted for that. Check in with your Yelp app for a free collard salad. Everything came out hot and delicious and would have been perfect except it came out very slow. Others who had come in after us had gotten their orders sooner and that just added a little stress to my date's day because she had an upcoming meeting. The bartender apologized for the slow meal and Gabrielle gave us a discount to compensate us. Chalk it up to a snafu and let it go at that. Great place for breakfast with the family! We were heading upstate for the day and decided to grab a bite to eat on the way up. I saw the menu and decided we should give it a try and it totally worth the detour! The decor was really neat the coffee mugs were really cool (I'd buy one or 2) and the food was AMAZING! I got the chicken and waffles- our server let me taste the sauce before I ordered and I'm so happy she did because I was able to really enjoy my breakfast! My husband got a waffle-which with wild boar sausage and it was so tasty! My sons waffles came out so quickly and he ate the whole thing (he's only 23 months) apples included! Ughhhhh I wish I knew bareburger is not the same at every location. I went to this location because it was closer to where I was going to be going after dinner, and I was very disappointed. If this was my first bareburger experience I would have never tried bareburger again. The service was so slow. The food was not good and the portions were tiny! I got a chicken sandwich that I love and it was so small, dry, rubbery, and cold! It was so gross. The chicken was smaller than the roll. My boyfriend ordered a burger cooked medium and it was so dry and bland. The burger came with bacon and there was half a slice of bacon on it. There was such little sauce that the bread soaked it up and it looked up there was nothing on it. My overall experience here was subpar. read more

Wow, won't lie, I was pleasantly surprised by their lunch special. I got one of their salads with grilled chicken and it was amazing. The salad itself was delicious, the take out container they had was amazing, and the grilled chicken was juicy. I mean, chicken shouldn't be complicated but it's frequently over cooked and tough....this was not. Their ginger ice tea was also delish. My ONLY qualm was that, while the waitress was friendly, she didn't point me to the lunch salads on the reverse of the menu. I had placed my whole order, asked several different things, wanted to add a few options, and she went along with it. Then I flipped the menu and saw exactly what I had wanted to order for about $5 cheaper, including a drink and meat. So....not happy about that, but otherwise the food was great. I normally love Bareburger but I had a very bad experience today. I ordered the So-Cal (turkey) burger for pick up and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I got there right on time and was told it was not ready yet. Fast-forward 25 minutes later and I was still waiting. The staff apologized for the wait and told me the kitchen was very backed up. I finally got my food and left. When I got back to work, I took a bite of my turkey burger and noticed it was slightly pink. I ripped the burger down the middle and saw that it was completely raw inside. I called to report this and see if they could deliver me a new burger. They offered to refund my meal but that was it. They're delicious and I'm sure everything else lives up to the same hype. The staff is personable and fun, they serve great brews, coctails, wines and shakes. Tried two Golden State beyond burgers, one Guadaloupe burger, and a side of fries, to take out All excellent. The food was great, and I would like to go back again, unfortunately, the prices at this location are way too high. I spent $46.55 on just these three items and fries, with no drinks. For that price, at other venues, I could get 3-4 times that amount of food. I wish it was more effectively prices for making this a weekly or monthly venue to visit, but it isn't. I don't think prices will be adjusted anytime soon either. I would say, go to this place once to try some interesting food that's different. You'll like it. Then think about the prices there, and then decide if repeated visits are with the price. read more

So I had a chance to try Bareburger in Plainview tonight (we were a party of 10) and I want to share my experience. The server was very good and accommodating (thanks Allison). There were a few issues with the food that that the kitchen sent out: a few of the burgers were not hot, one person ordered their burger "well done with no pink" but the burger came out pink and was sent back. The burger came out a second time, also not well done. After the third time the burger came back pink in the middle, the person just didn't eat. The waitress upon seeing the problem, sent over a manager (Steve). Steve said he was going to remove the burger and the few appetizers we had from the bill and apologized. Here is where it got very interesting, He handed me the original unadjusted bill which totaled $170 and the revised bill. The revised bill reflected a 30% credit in the amount of $55.00. The revised total was $139 and change. While I am a CPA I think most anybody would wonder how a bill of $170 less a credit of $55 can total about $140. I looked more closely at the bill details and realized that there were additional items added to the "reduced bill" that we never ordered and were never served! There were 3 shakes at $5.95 each and a few other items. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she sent over a different manager. I did not get her name. She apologized and said she'd fix the bill. She brought the bill back without the added items and replaced the 30% credit with a 15% credit and the new total was $128. We asked her to bring back the two original bills. She replied that she couldn't and when pressed she said they were thrown away. Being that the entire place is run on a computerized POS system, this makes no sense. She then said that shouldn't be our concern with a bit of attitude! She ultimately readjusted the bill to 30% off a bill which only included the items we ordered as well as removing the problem burger. UPDATE: 3/6/16 I reached out to Bareburger Coroprate offices and they contacted the Plainview location. The Corporate office said that the Plainview location would get back to me probably through this review on Yelp, and that they would make it right. As we all can see Plainvew Bareburger really doesn't care because they have ignored this review and the input from the Corporate office! I suppose they are embarrassed at being called out publicly for intentionally cheating customers, but then again they should be embarrassed. If the incident was an honest error, they'd have apologized and responded. In my book, Plainview Bareburger belongs in The Hall of Shame! read more

I find Easter the perfect reason to go out and celebrate by eating food. But picking the right spot to indulge ones desire for good food is hard. So many places, so little stomach space. But my brother did it again! He hit gold when he asked if I knew a new place called "Bareburger?" I saw it on Yelp but I wasn't in a hurry to go......What was I thinking! We made the drive to Plainview, their first location but believe me not their last, to go eat. First thing I noticed before even parking is the building is constructed with shipping containers! I know right! This stood out and made this place unique from all the surrounding businesses. Entering the facility you are greeted and welcomed in by many staff ready to serve you. They allowed us to sit where we wanted because we were the first visitors of the day. The cleanliness of the place was impressive too! Clean floors, clean tables, and well maintained bathrooms set the tone of what was to come. I was starving so we wasted no time ordering appetizers. The buffalo chicken was what we ordered and it was amazing! I'm not just saying that because I can't describe it, it was meaty, juicy, and spicy, all at the same time! Our waiter Lucas was also perfect. He brought my lemonade to the table, that wasn't to sweet; it was perfect, and gave us time to order. We picked the Wiki Wiki, and the County Fair burgers. Both tasted great. Bison meat and Wild Boar meat were cooked to satisfaction. The French fries with four sauces worked well with my burger also. There was nothing in my mind I would change. A mediocre experience with ok food at high prices. 6 people with 2 appetizers, 12 drinks, and 6 burgers (no fries) was about $170 before tip, bit higher than up here so I'm not sure if that is the usual down there. My grandma and I come here all the time we love it!!! They are always so kind and accommodating! The service is always relatively fast and accurate. (I realize this place fills up very quickly) Only one time they forgot something on my burger and once they were alerted our waitress fixed it right away and had the manager bring out my corrected burger and apologized. We ALWAYS get the Crispy Brussel Sprouts recommended by our waitress a few months back :) What I like most about this place is the vibe. Incredibly slow and bad service. Took 20 minutes to get someone over to take our order and that's after I went to the hostess and asked for one after waiting 20 mins. They messed up on both orders and I had to get up to find the waiter and flag him over. On the plus side they present a great conversation starter about why tipping shouldn't be priced into your meal, which is already expensive here. This restaurant has some tough competition with other local burger joints like Smashburger, Shake Shack, BurgerFi and Dirty Burger and based on my experience not worth a revisit. I couldn't even stomach to look at it, it was bleeding all over the bun and making it soggy! Gag!! The Brussels sprouts were amazing though so I gave it a second try. This time, I had a burger that was so tough, I couldn't even eat it. I was so upset paying $15+ for this burger and I couldn't even eat it!! How about they focus on improving their service and improving their product. I ordered fries and onion rings however, they forgot my fries which was annoying but I called and they told me I could pick up or get refund so I got my refund. UPDATE: Do yourself a favor, if you must have Bareburger, go to another location. I gave this location a second chance and honestly only because Morrison's was surprisingly closed today. We walked in at 12:30 and took a seat at the bar as there was no wait to sit there. We ordered shortly after and then proceeded to wait over 30 minutes for 2 burgers. Still on the smaller side (at least for the bun), still over cooked (they claim to cook medium unless told otherwise yet our burgers were well done), and still crappy service all for $50 plus tip, no thank you. Just went for dinner tonight with my mom to see what all the talk is about. I am less than impressed. First off, the space is incredibly small, ceilings are low, tables are close together, it feels incredibly crowded inside and if there is any amount of people in there then prepare to be yelling to talk to the person sitting across from you. There is also no real waiting area, you need to ask across the restaurant to a small little section near an exit door with no seating. Our table order the following: 2 burgers, one brussels sprout app, an onion ring and fry combo, an iced tea, a water, and a milk shake. The burgers took a while to come out, and the app came with the food instead of before. The iced tea alone took about 7-8 minutes before it was delivered. I asked for a glass of water but instead I go a cup probably half the size of a normal glass and I had to keep pouring from the big pitched they left on the table, it was also kind of warm. The burger itself was really good, but incredibly overpriced for what I had. $12.20 for a small burger with beff, pepper jack cheese, and bacon. Fries were okay, a warm and cooked nicely but by the time we got them a little bit soggy. That leaves the milkshake, it took probably 7-8 minutes to come out which is insane, it tasted like ass, no two ways about it. It was too sweet and almost salty, its hard to describe but either way I took two sips and couldn't even bare to finish it. Also worthy to note it was just supposed to be plain chocolate, not sure how you mess that up. All in all I probably won't be coming back, I might give it another try at a less busy time but even still I think that almost $13 for a burger that size is really not worth it. Also, the waiter doesn't need to tell me all the stories about how "we don't cook in this" or "we don't use that" and all that conscious food nonsense, just let me order. read more

Ordered $35 worth of food for two people - w/ fries to share and received 2 half filled containers of sauces - when I had requested on the phone for extra curry sauce - they shorted me. This is ridiculous. How two half full containers of sauce is supposed to last an entire portion of french fries is beyond me. Waitstaff was friendly. Place was nice. Weird picture of the animals on the menu dressed as people. People at the table next to me were not the type of people I wanted to sit beside. They seemed like people that had strong opinions about things they knew less about than they pretended to know. The kind that read articles and recite the ideas like it is common knowledge to everyone without knowing anything about it. Do not recommend sitting next to them. Update: they made it right They're trying. I'll give 'em that. The food is good, but small and expensive ($90 for 3 people with one glass of wine for burgers!). Their menu mentions bottles of wine they don't sell (they only have wine on tap). I ordered an appetizer they were out of. I am trying to be starch free, and the menus was extremely limited in that regard for an organic place. When we went, their kitchen had an "issue" and they were closing early. Rather than put up some caution tape and a big oak tag sign, they were turning dozens of people away at the door, without even a discount or something. Might need a reset to get it right. Came here on my lunch hour...don't recommend that as they are VERY slow and the food is just mediocre, burger fi is much better and also in the area. I ordered the sweet potato and wild rice burger on a sprout bun with Gouda cheese and dill pickles and special sauce on the side-not sure what's so special about it, it didn't have much flavor. The burger was good but not great. My friend got the sesame ginger beef burger and couldn't even eat it. It was way too chewy. We split the sriracha pulled pork brussl sprouts-those were amazing!
