I was super excited to see this place pop up in Plainview: a burger place focused on quality ingredients. I had the weekday lunch special with a friend here and got the Farmstead wrap and sweet potato fries. The collard greens wrap was much tastier and filling than I expected from a vegetable wrap. The filling was mushy, but a tasty and textured type of mushy that I personally enjoyed quite a lot. Attempting to eat it with my hands led to an excessive mess, resulting a fork and knife struggle. Be wary of finding a neat way to eat the collard wrap, but at the same time don't let that dissuade you. The special came with cold brew coffee which, as a cold brew fanatic, I found average. What was not average was the hemp milk I had as a milk alternative instead of almond or soy milk (neither were available options). Unfortunately the huge pitfall of this place is the excessively long wait time. It took almost an hour for my friend and I to get our food; a huge turnoff and a factor that would make me very wary of coming here again. read more

The burger was smaller than the bun and it simply didn't do anything for me. I know I didn't get a reaaal burger, but it lacked flavor. A legit burger joint has a patty slightly bigger than the bun and every bite is rainbows and unicorns dancing on my taste buds. I'm a pickle gal, I love pickles on my burgers but it only came with very very few. I didn't ask for more :( - see "service" Their ketchup tasted weird to me (maybe being organic? Having been to a bareburger before, it was just as good an experience as my first time the city. The staff and atmosphere: A lot smaller on the inside than the outside-but pretty normal for a burger joint. Well decorated using recycled materials. Part of the whole brand name. The staff were friendly and well informed (albeit a lil pushy to get us to order more food but we didn't have much time). Our burgers came in at a decent time (10 minutes). We ate at 3, and it wasn't crowded so no surprise there. Online people are complaining about how the cups are too small (that's why they also give you a big jug of water). The food: We just got the burgers this time. I ordered the grindhouse and my sister ordered the blue elk. I replaced the Manchego with pimento cheese (no extra charge). We found both burgers to be really tasty. Last time I visited bareburger I ordered the southern caviar which I really enjoyed. The last time my sister visited she said she got the el matador. Note the policy is unless you ask, your burger is cooked to medium. Unless it's pork, then they have to cook it more. Personally, I'm not a fan of the fries. Didn't get them during my visit. If you get a dipping sauce you would get more flavor with it (my favorite is the special sauce which is like a honey mustard). I don't like sweet potato fries but my sister has tried them from another bareburger before and loves them. Online, people complain the burgers are small kinda agree--you do want a burger you can fit in both of your hands. When you're in the city you expect everything to be expensive so you may be more passive about the small size. Here...well not the same feeling. --but don't forget you are paying for quality and if anyone in your family is very health conscious (vegan, gluten free, vegetarian, etc) then this place has good food that everyone enjoys. Our total for the two of us for just two burgers came out to about $30 plus tip. (A little insane to wrap your head around). Overall, I've heard the place hasn't been up to par with Long Islander standards since it opened which I understood because it just opened. We ordered the Duke, the Supreme, and the Buckaroo. Loved the Duke (bison burger) because it wasn't as greasy. If you like your burger greasier/juicier, then try the supreme. Bareburger - the chain restaurant which should be seamless across all. A simple system that works - Sadly, this location is very inconsistent. I've been to this particular Bareburger on 3 different occasions and had 3 TOTALLY different experiences. My most recent visit in July'2018 was by far the worst. Picture the scene - It's 2PM on a summers day and Barebuger only has about 5 other customers. I'm with a friend and we each order a classic/regular burger - no cheese with lettuce and tomato. (simple order) The waiter gives us a burger with cheese. (not a big deal, they made a simple mistake and we send it back) We are thinking the next order will be spot on -they'll fix the error. The waiter comes by and gives us a burger with no cheese. Spot on! Great!...But this time it's missing the tomato and lettuce. I usually don't make a big deal about this stuff, but 2 errors back to back and it took 50 minutes to get 2 burgers - come on guys. read more

Finally got around to checking this place out. For starters, the second we walked in the door we were treated very well. All of the service people we came in contact with were super kind. I don't know how they keep this up being in Plainview, where possibly the worst customers in the world exist. I felt like I wasn't even in New York. Major major kudos for the kindness of the servers. I love the interior of this place too. You see repurposed shipping containers on the outside and expect some sort of cold, industrial environment, but the inside I think is best described as "cute." Definitely not cold at all. As for the food, it was a bit hit and miss. The onion rings were really good. Exactly what you'd expect from really good onion rings. I tried the Sprout & Shroom from the "Crops" portion of the menu. It was very tasty. I've never had fried mushrooms before, so that was a new and unusual experience. The Kimchi Slaw was excellent. The 2 veggie options though? Kind of bland. I had the Farmstead and a bite of the Guadalupe. Definitely not worth the money. I also have to give props for the solid beer menu, especially for a chain restaurant. It's borderline-craft beer bar worthy, in fact. Overall, this place seems to be an eclectic mix of incredibly unhealthy mixed with the healthy. It works pretty well though. When I come back I'll probably stick to the Crops and Greens (and maybe onion rings). Either way, it's nice to see some interesting eclectic restaurants opening up minutes away from where I grew up. read more

Usually I really love this place because they have vegan options etc. My family and I order from here often. I live in Massapequa and picked up an order to go. When I got home one of the burgers was not done correctly (they added stuff to the burger that wasn't asked for that couldn't be eaten due to an allergy) and my sisters impossible burger that was ordered to be well done looked like a raw impossible patty. I am a high school teacher & one of my students works for Bare Burger in Chelsea. She recommended it. When we saw this location going up near our home we were excited. The atmosphere is loud but enjoyable. Music is great. Our waitress was pleasant & caring. I had the wild boar, yes wild boar, burger with a fried egg! Yummy! They have various meat options including beef. The prices are higher than 5 Guy but you get what you pay for. The taste & "clean" locally sourced food is well worth it. First off I never go to Plainview because of the general rudeness and rotten parking ...but Bareburger has opened its doors ...and from the other bareburgers we knew it couldn't be bad and it wasn't We arrived around 9:30 pm almost empty but no worries very friendly girl welcomed us in the building is made from old shipping containers (at least that what they look like) our waitress sat down with us to tell us about the menu assorted burgers bison beef ostrich plus 3 types of veggie burgers my favorite being quinia they have assorted buns including hemp and my favorite a lettuce wrap they use the lettuce as a wrap and its cut in half like a regular bun so you can eat it as such lots of cheeses as well as veggie toppings real nice onion rings they also make their own dipping sauces I tried some sort of jelly and it was yum I really have no complaints about this bareburger we had a chocolate shake its good but for some reason not as yum as other bareburgers read more

The food was good, but I will NOT be back. Our server was not helpful and seemed bothered by our requests for napkins etc. We were not rowdy teenagers, in fact many of us were servers ourselves. We were a group of friends celebrating a 26th birthday and catching up, and so we stayed until closing. When we left one of the workers clapped and audibly said "finally" as we were walking out. We ordered take-out for a meal at the office. I had the blue elk burger and was excited because I love weird meats and meat parts. I ordered the burger medium rare but, as expected from a take-out, the burger was almost well done by the time I got to unpack it. The patty was a bit drier as a result. They did a good job reducing the gamey taste of the elk. The tomato jam helped with making the lean patty feel not so dry. I was very impressed with the quality of all the fixings on the burger. Even the bun felt like a nice quality, healthy bread. If such thing ever existed. My coworkers were not to receptive. They are not adventurous eaters so even with the regular beef burger, I think they were not happy. Everything is a bit lean, a bit dry, so it didn't taste like a "burger" for them. I love this place, but not happy with my last visit. Went in Saturday night and it was busy, but not nuts. My wife and I were seated immediately, but a server never came. After 10 minutes I mentioned it to the hostess who had seated us and she said he was taking another tables order and would be with us shortly. Another 5 minutes or so passed and still no server. We got up an left. I've been coming since they opened. I've gone to bat for them and rave about them to friends and family. 15 minutes is 14 minutes to long to be acknowledged. Let me know you will be right with me, take my drink order or at least have someone bring some water. Nothing. I know that a place can have a bad day and I know that management reads Yelp reviews. We will be back, but Please be better next time 3/14 update: Happy to say that we went back tonight and everything was AWESOME! Hostess was excellent, young girl who bought our food was wonderful and Mike our server was outstanding. The building is made from refurbished shipping containers which is actually extremely cool. The decor inside was very interesting with very old time type pictures of animals in suites. The food was great you can really taste the difference when something is fresh, organic, and free from antibiotics and hormones. The beef burger I ordered was cook exactly how I had ordered it and was delicious. Skin on fries were also fantastic. Overall I enjoyed my trip to Bare burger. Picked up $115.00 worth of food/sides here (7/18/17) for the office, mid-day on a Tuesday. If you don't feel like reading the whole review, here is the takeaway: Average food, well-above average prices. Gave 2 stars because there is no option for 2.5 stars, and ultimately this was a huge let down for us given the steep prices. Burgers were average, options for temperature are given, but all of our burgers were cooked to the same temperature (looked like med-well) despite most of us selecting med, or med-rare. Sriracha Brussels sprouts bordering on inedible due to being bathed in the sriracha sauce. Onion rings sub-par, french fries were average. Side note, I ordered a burger with a regular patty and an additional bison patty (for $6.95 upcharge), and got only the regular patty on my sandwich. For $20+ (yes a burger and fries is close to or more than $20 depending on how exotic of beef choices you make) my mind had better be BLOWN. And unfortunately, Bareburger does not live up to the hype. Suffice to say we won't be back - ever, which is a shame because we really wanted to like Bareburger. I was so disappointed on Thursday, December 19, 2019 ... my husband and I went to Bareburger for dinner. The restaurant was freezing, I hade to keep my coat on my shoulders. I said something to the waiter and he was cordial but it never got warmer. My husband had something from the vegan dog menu that he said was excellent but his fries were old and cold. We would have complained but it took so long to get our order and I was uncomfortably cold we just wanted to get out of there. I ordered the chicken avocado BLT ... it had 1/2 slice of bacon on the whole sandwich! That's all ... there was one bite on each half that was good the rest was just dry chicken and bread. When they brought out the fries they dropped one of the sauces. They immediately brought out another but they didn't notice that the sauce spattered all over my coat. Just visited today for the first time and my meal was good albeit small, very small for Bareburger. Coming from Queens, I have been to both locations in Astoria (on Ditmars and 31 ave) and in Forest Hills. So, unlike many Long Island reviewers here, I have experienced Bareburger before which is why I'm not going to be so quick to criticize. I'm thinking a lot of reviewers aren't familiar with the quirky concept and perhaps not taking into account how brand new this place is. We arrived around 12 and didn't have to wait for a table but those who showed up just a few minutes after definitely did. What we did have to wait for was the food. A couple who sat next to us after we were sat was served 15 minutes before us so that was strange but I enjoyed the conversation to take up the time. Our server was friendly and came by very often to check on us. We ordered 2 margaritas which were very good and by the time the food came we had quite a buzz going! I ordered a turkey burger with Amish blue cheese and dill pickles. I just can't seem to get my head around how SMALL the portion was! I don't eat bread so it came out on a piece of lettuce; just one piece on the bottom. There were 4 slices of little baby pickles on top. For someone who is trying not to eat bread, let me tell you how hard it was not to drive to Raimo's across the street afterwards and get a piece of pizza-that's how hungry I was! I know you aren't going to get diner sized portions at Bareburger because like I said, I have eaten in their restaurants several times over the years- but today it was just too small. I'm hoping the baby-sized food portions and the long wait for the baby-sized food portions will improve after a few months of this joint being opened. Until then: PLEASE, Bareburger! Step it up! As a Queens girl who is very homesick for all the yummy food I've left behind, do it for me! We love the cauliflower app as well as Brussels sprouts app believe it or not they are great! Burgers speak for themselves and are always prepared fresh and cooked to order. Been to this establishment several times and every time there is always a case of "that has been removed from the menu or that is not available at "OUR" location. The main website does not make a reference to only available at specific locations. And on a few occasions the order taker had the audacity to argue about something "never" being on the menu when we ordered it before. Really wanted the "Penn Station" but was not available in Plainview. Variety in a vegan option would be nice besides burgers. If the main website has it listed, I feel every location should have some kind of representation. A truely disappointing experience. If this was not the closest location to me, I would go elsewhere. read more
