I absolutely LOVE this place! I'm so happy one finally opened up around my home. Being gluten free there aren't many choices, however, BB has SOOO many great choices! From patties and buns and cheese and veggies and even desserts to accommodate any food allergies! This place is absolutely amazing! The service is great, our waiter did a great job at going through the menu with us and the menu even states next to each item was is GF (gluten free) and V (Vegan). I've also came to pick up food, very convenient because we were able to order over the phone and the staff was very patient and helpful in explaining and reading out what items were gluten free. The milkshakes are to die for!!!!!! They have so many choices, they have pre-set burger styles which sound great and the option to "BE MY BURGER" in which you go through a cute section in the menu and build your own following the sections (Protein - Bun - Cheese - Bacon - Veggies - Sauces - Spreads - Sides) my boyfriend loves this option!! If you're looking at going for something on the healthier side but the devil and angel are playing advocate, they have the option to wrap your burger in a collard green instead of a bun...I highly recommend you try this! The wrap is not hard to bite into, it still tastes like a delicious burger and you get the best of both worlds! read more

At first I was excited that a new burger joint opened in the area. My friend and I were lucky when the first time we stopped by it was pre-soft opening so everything was for free. The event was supposed to help the trainees and staff to practice. Food was decent, and service was pleasant and understandable because it was supposed to be practice. Second time we went it was decent. I tried the elk burger but I wasn't fond of the meat texture and the manager noticed so he comped it off our ticket. Recently we went back to grab dinner, but it was the worst experience ever. The hostess was unpleasant, she didn't greet us and even though we were first, she sat another group of people down first not bothering to say "please give me a minute". (It was a slow night). We sat down and the most unprofessional server came to take our orders. We waited for 15 minutes even before the server came to greet us, worst part was, the hostess saw that we were waiting trying to get someone's attention and didn't bother to let the server know that we were waiting. Her nails were more urgent. The server then starting hammering questions about what we wanted. What bread, what sauce, do you want anything else, etc. Even the extra orders we asked, it didn't come with the food, so what was the point of asking. We asked for some water while we waited, but before he went to go put in the order, he needed to stop by to chat with the other servers, go to the back, come back to our area to ask the table behind us if they needed anything. (Still haven't received drinks). Finally when our drinks came I asked for lemons for my iced tea, he said, he forgot and that he would bring it back, still didn't bring the lemons and just laughed and said he had forgotten. Before our drinks were out, I had gone to the restroom and my friend went out for a cigarette, the servers runs to me and flat out says "I thought you guys ran away" and it did not sound or seem like he was joking. I LEFT MY BAG AND PHONE ON THE TABLE ON PURPOSE so we wouldn't have this kind of misunderstanding. He then goes to the table behind us and high fives the guests and asks them if they need anything. Then, our food went to the other table, the guests there touched our food and then came to our table, so that was disturbing so we didn't eat and just wanted to leave. We didn't get ONE follow up on our food even though couple things were missing, and we wanted to ask for new food since ours were touched by other people and no refills on drinks. By then we just wanted to leave so we tried to get someone's attention to ask for the check, again, the hostess saw me stand up and put my hand up, at least 3 other staff members saw me and still ignored me. Then our server and another server were looking at the mirrors re-styling their hair do, so I walked up to the server asking for our check. He then told me to go back to the table to wait which I did. (He went to the other table to follow up on them again, and didn't wash his hands before returning to us). As he was processing the check, he inserted 20% tip instead of allowing me to choose what I wanted to tip. Overall, horrible service, unsanitary staff. Very disappointed. Strongly recommend! Very nice location in a luxury shopping center in Closter. I've had a quick bite here a few times, but after my latest visit I decided it was time to write a review. I typically get the American beef burger; however, the last time I was here, my waitress named Pam recommended I try the bison burger... I followed her advice and thank god I did! I also got Black Forest Bacon on the burger which was fantastic. As a side, I tried the Macho Fries which are basically like nachos but with a french fry base. I was a little skeptical but after my first bite, all doubts quickly went away!! I definitely recommend Bareburger to all meat lovers due to the variety of meats you can order, but they also have alternatives for the vegetarians out there! Definitely worth a try!!! read more

I then asked what's the difference between the sauce, spreads and what is popular and received a big attitude!!! Passed over Rudys Pizza and decided to give this new burger place a go. I sat at the bar hoping for faster service being there was no hostess at the front of the restaurant during lunch time. Sat at the bar about 5 minutes or more before a menu was tossed at me. I ordered a bacon cheese burger with fries and a Coke [ Pepsi ahhh], after 10 minutes the fries came out , they were tasty, I finished them before my burger came out , which was also tasty. We were going to Bareburger weekly for years.. first, in Edgewater now we sometimes go to Closter instead. They change the menu too often. My son says "it's not as good as it used to be" he really misses his Elk meat and blueberry soda, which is why I rate this place "just ok". we no longer go every week, but I think the food is good and I like the salads and gluten free options. read more

The Closter location has only been open for a few weeks, but we can't stop going back!! Their food is so delicious! From the appetizers to their salads and their burgers, you can't go wrong! The reviews below are pretty accurate. This place is a solid 3 stars and with a little bit of effort can easiest be 4 stars. The burgers were solid however we asked for medium rare and received medium well. They need to pay a bit of attention in the kitchen. My youngest son wanted chicken tenders ... they were well cooked with Zero seasoning. So bland ... a little salt would go a long way here. Service was great and with a smile. The burger was very good, my kids love the shakes, the spinach/berry salad? was good but holy moly too many berries! Stopped in for the first time this past Friday for lunch. I ordered a "buckaroo" burger and a black/white milkshake. Everything came out sooner then expected. The burger had a huge chunk of brisket on it in addition to the burger, this was fantastic. Laurie made an amazing milkshake and was quite helpful I will be making this a regular stop. We have been trying all the new burger places. Its was unique in the decor as well as the menu. Burgers under cooked almost rare on one. Onion rings and fries so so. Menu states "try our seasonal brews" but waitress didn't know what they were. She also was a vegan so couldn't tell us what she recommended. I have been to BareBurger several times mainly because of how accommodating they are for someone who is gluten free. On my most recent visit, I stressed the fact that everything ordered would be gluten free. Long story short, when the server brought out my burger and my boyfriends burger, I confirmed with the server that "this was all gluten free?" and the server said yes. Well, after I took one bite, I knew something was wrong. I asked the waitress to come back who confirmed that my burger was definitely NOT on gluten free bread. That was the last I saw the waitress. The manager came over, who seemed more uncomfortable than I was, apologizing for what had happened. Unfortunately, the damage was already done. I take a risk every time I go out to eat for cross-contamination, I didn't think I'd be taking a risk to get poisoned. I emailed the company on January 15, 2018 and silence. It's safe to say I will not be returning to BareBurger again and will be warning others about my awful experience. read more

The theme of this restraint is really nice and classy, it makes everything so much better. But the speed is not really good. I was eating on a Wednesday afternoon and there weren't a lot of people eating. Yet, the food took a while to get here. When it did, it was pretty good... Everything else was good, wait i'm forgetting prices. K think it was a little proxy for the food that we got, but i think it if a little reasonable. A tip would be to add fries with the burger. Had a not so good costumer service there. A waitress pull a bottle of water by accident on my pants. Outside was 32 and she say "sorry..." an disappeared. Manager was nowhere to be seeing. I was super disappointed with my experience today. I ordered a couple burgers and some scotts waffles for delivery through delivery.com. Estimated delivery time 30 mins. After an hour I called to check the status of my order, and they told me they thought the order was for pick-up (again, I ordered it through delivery.com and also included a tip for the driver in my order) The girl on the phone told me she would have her driver bring it right over. I asked if that meant my food would be cold since it has been sitting, but she assured me that she would personally make sure it was hot. The food arrived another 20 mins later, but was not hot. The burgers were room temperature, and the scotts waffles actually tasted like they were cooler than room temperature... the parmesan cheese on the waffle fries wasn't even melted, which makes me think that the fries weren't even fresh to begin with. All of my friends have been talking about bareburger recently so my husband, kids and I decided a few nights ago to go check it out. It was not that busy but we had to wait a minute or two to be seated for some reason none of the workers appeared to be paying attention. The Burgers were pretty good but definitely over priced (around $15 and that doesn't include fries). We had to remind the staff about our kids milkshakes, which eventually came out 10 minutes after all of the other food and no one on staff seemed to care, they just apologized half heartedly and walked away. Drinks were good but there was a lack of choices in wine and light beers. I guess they're catering to a crowed that enjoys IPA's but there were only 2 light beers on tap compared to what looked like 6-7 IPAs. Closter really needed a place like this!! I've been living here for my entire life and Bareburger has been a great new addition! I've been going now since the first opened maybe 2 or 3 times a week and the only complaint I have is that it always seems to be busy! The food is amazing and all organic! For my husband who has a very severe peanut and gluten allergy they are incredibly accommodating! The other day we were sitting at the bar and we watched the chef clean the grill before he cooked my husbands burger after the waiter notified him of the allergy! Some places aren't always as accommodating with allergies. They even make their patties with flax seeds instead of sesame for anyone with a seed allergy, which I though that was pretty cool as well. But besides the awesome service and great environment, the food is amazing and it makes me happy knowing it's all organic! They're also great when it comes to modifying the burgers, I'm not a huge fan of cheese and they're always so nice when I ask them to take it off the burgers! The best part was yesterday they messed up my burger and made it with the cheese and the manager himself brought it back to the kitchen to have it remade and took it off my bill for the inconvenience!! 10 out of 10! One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We arrived at 12:20 for lunch and waited 10 minutes before we were greeted at the front to be sat down. Note that the restaurant was barely occupied at this time. We had to wait 1 hour for our food to come and when it arrived at the table it was cold. We were not given forks or plates to share our appetizers and after trying to get a number of servers' attentions, we gave up and began eating our Brussel sprouts with our hands until somebody I was eating with suggested we take the silverware off the table next to us. We ate our meal within 10 minutes because we were starving after waiting so long. Our waitress also never came to check on us once we received our meal and our water bottle was never refilled. We then waited another 30 minutes for a server to come over and ask if we needed anything. I had to ask for the check 3 separate times before it finally came. I was so fed up at this point because all the servers were so inattentive. It was near impossible to get anyone's attention. Two men sat down at the table next to us and we listened to them complain about how bad the service was and how their waiter had forgot to bring them their drinks. They said, "With service like this, this place will never last." Somehow what was supposed to be a quick meal turned into 1 hour and 45 minutes of wasted time. I left the restaurant thirsty and extremely annoyed. I can assure you that I will never be back and will advise others not to go after this. read more

I took my brother to Bareburger for lunch, we have gone to the location in Edgewater and loved it so we figured the one in Closter could not be much different. We started to look through the menu and I had a couple of questions because I hadn't been to Bareburger in a while. I wish I got this waiters name but sadly I did not. As soon as he came to our table he was rude. I asked him about a drink that I always liked the from there and he was short and sounded annoyed I even asked. Then my brother asked a question and he just answered "no" and walked away in the middle of my brother speaking. My brother and I were polite and didn't deserve that treatment so I got up and asked for another waiter. Life is too short to sit through something like that especially if we are paying to go out to eat. The reason I am even giving this location 3 stars is because the waitress that came next was sweet as sugar. She was polite and apologized for her coworker. She was incredibly professional. I don't know if I'd come back to that location but that waitress definitely helped make up for damage the waiter before her had made.
