My family was visiting from out of state and I brought them here for Sunday Brunch. We had the Eggs Benedict and Waffles; the food tasted superb and the service was good. Typically when I go to a place with middling reviews, I order something easy like a salad. Because there's no way to screw that up, right? Wrong! This place managed to do it. I ordered a pear and spinach salad, which is meant to come with a shallot dressing and glazed walnuts. What I received was partly-wilted spinach with 7 small chunks of underripe pear on top, a barely-there dressing that didn't taste like anything, and a stale piece of bread on the side. I should've just sent the plate back then and there, but I (foolishly) figured that maybe the element that was missing from the salad would make it better: the walnuts. When I called over the waitress to tell her that the salad was a little sad and the walnuts were missing, she simply said 'oh yeah, we're out of those.' Uh, then why didn't you tell me that when I ordered the salad? Why wait until I bring it up?? She didn't apologize (server etiquette 101), but did offer to bring some pine nuts. Which, sure. Whatever. The pine nuts arrived and they were clearly just taken straight out of the bag, a very poor substitute for toasted and glazed walnuts. And I still got charged full price for the salad. Another person at my table found a produce sticker on the sliced tomato in their sandwich (which indicates to me that the tomato was never washed). Another person's fries had clearly been sitting out for some time. Literally how do you mess up simple food so badly? Tl;dr, don't be fooled by the nice location. Take your hard-earned money to a place where servers, kitchen staff, and managers actually take some pride in what they do. read more

Food is always fantastic. Beg for Brian as a server. He's always amazing. Downside: Front desk is still terrible. Made a reservation for the patio. Hostess took us to one of three or four tables in the sun when there were four or five in the shade. We asked to sit at a table for next an umbrella in the shade. We sat down only to be told that the table had not been sanitized and we had to move to another table. Less than five minutes later the other hostess seated a party of three without anybody coming to the table to sanitize it. I get that Bardenay needs to be careful and mindful of COVID procedures, but they need someone responsible to manage the process. What's being done currently is inept and just upsets customers. read more

Bardenay Eagle is one of my favorite places to enjoy brunch on a patio. If only the Boise and Eagle offerings were the same, I'd be the happiest camper around. As it's only offered in Eagle on Sundays, we often aren't able to make it. Food: I've never been disappointed with my choices. The satay's (chicken, beef and shrimp) are my favorite happy hour item. I can order one of each and they fill me and my husband up! If we're going for brunch, which is often why we go, the French toast and Bardenay Breakfast are our two top picks. I've also had the Basque Scramble (SO GOOD!) and Eggs Benedict--all were divine! What I also appreciate about Bardenay is the ala carte brunch ordering. Typically if my husband orders a meal, I'll order a side of egg whites and fruit, making it a great place to enjoy a great atmosphere as well as a healthy meal. Drinks: We haven't had much to drink at Bardenay! Happy Hour Offerings: M-F 4-6 Happy Hour (late night happy hour, too!) with food and drink specials. Get the satay's... they're great! Atmosphere: The only patio that beats Bardenay's is the Ram in Boise, which is why I give it such a high rating. It's lovely out there! The sound of the fountain on the patio, the summer heat and very little traffic noise make this place hard to beat. Service: As Bardenay is almost always very busy and it's a seat-yourself arrangement, it can be hard to get prompt service. Healthy Hack: Order a la carte. I typically don't order off the menu but instead get a side of egg whites and fruit! TIP: It's seat yourself and if it's busy people typically don't mind sharing the big, long tables. read more

Was excited to try with my family since I've been to the boise location. I can say this location does not live up to the boise one. We got sat at 6:30 and no sight of our food through 7:30. Our waiter was impossible to get ahold of and we waited to order for nearly 20 min because he was always disappearing. People that ordered after us got there food before. We visited Bardenay when in the area for a wedding. We came for Sunday brunch the day after the wedding before friends and family made their way back home. They were very accommodating setting up a long table on the patio for us. The patio overlooked the river and green belt path which was a nice added bonus. As for the food I felt that it was rather bland and lacking seasoning. Another family member made a similar comment. Although sang praises for the fry sauce. We had never had anything like that as we were all visiting from out of state. Overall we had a pleasant experience but the food was not mind blowing in my opinion. read more

I've had both of the tuna salads here. The ahi and the yellow tail. I think I prefer the yellow tail. I'm almost done giving gaijin restaurants a chance at doing Asian fusion. The yellow tail was nicely seared and the dressing and mixin's kicked it up a notch. Great wine selection. A little expensive. Nice architecture. I really enjoyed my dinner at Bardenay. I ordered the huckelberry lemon drop ( OMG ) so good. with a sugar/salt rimmed martini glass it was so delicious. We ordered the cheese platter to start, and it was really nice. Four types of cheese with pears/oil/bread. I ordered the Club sandwich with sweet potato fries. Yum the sweet potato fries are my favorite. It is very airy inside with the whole side being open doors to the outside. It is perfect for a summer evening. Disappointed. Didn't receive a salad that was ordered. Fish and chips were not good - overcooked and crust was extremely crunchy (in a bad way) and no sauce accompanying the dish. Soggy fries. The pork chop, salmon and trout were decent. Mashed potatoes were great! Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place and we won't be going again.
