Not really sure how I feel about this. The place was small and packed, I think there was a corporate event happening as I saw some catering plates out. Most of the games were taken and had a line around them. My bf and I sat at the bar and the bartender was immediately rude. I asked him a question and he walked away before answering, then when he came back and I asked again, he answered it in a way that made me feel dumb. My boyfriend wasn't sure what beer he wanted so he tried 2 or 3 and the bartender rolled his eyes whenever he was asked. We were going to order something to eat but nothing really caught our eye. Been in a Barcade mood this month. After frequenting the St. Marks one for a while, decided to stop by this one. I've been to it a couple times, but last night was the first time I actually went in on it. The pros: Much bigger than the ST. Marks one. THIS ONE actually has a FULL LIQUEUR license and more food options There are some Free play games sprinkled about. More than two bathrooms. They aren't that many cons actually. The bartenders are a bit oblivious. I was waiting barside for about 10 minutes. It wouldn't have been wickledly enough if I didn't make eye contact with the bartenders at least 4 times, and then get skipped over for people closing out their tab AND ordering drinks. Yeah, Ok I get that people are trying to leave, but come on my guy I'm just trying to order a pint. At least give me a head nod. They seemed to finally realize their mistake, when I began to walk away. But hey A+ for having Raging Bitch on tap. read more

This restaurant is very racist toward black people. They let people in with fake IDs before they let us in. We all had a valid passport and they kept saying it was wrong to use a passport and they couldn't accept us. My husband loves arcade bars. He was determined to make this a stop when we were in the area for a different event, and our hotel wasn't too far. The door guy was really friendly, which was a nice start to an overall experience. The food menu is slightly elevated from your typical bar fare. I don't drink beer, but if you do, it looked like they had quite the selection. I had a brat on a pretzel bun, while my husband had chicken and waffle grilled cheese. There are little wooden tables wedged between the arcade cabinets so that you can put your drinks down (don't put your food or drinks on the actual games!). We played TMNT up until the game actually blanked out on us and the machine reset! We played a couple other games too. They have $5 glasses you can buy as souvenirs. My husband bought two to bring home. In all, this is a pretty fun experience. I think this could make for a great date spot :) read more

Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun spot! Very cool idea for a meet up with a group of friends, a first (or another) date or a birthday. As other reviews stated, and as you can well deduce from its name, this mini chain is a bar with arcade games. That's an amazing idea. I came here with a very diverse group of friends for another friend's birthday. I didn't know some of the people in the group but the atmosphere fosters conversation and camaraderie. The people were totally cool, but this awesome bar's environment kinda helped everything along. A negative may been that this bar is so much fun that it gets crowded and it's difficult to find a seat. But we ultimately found a "spot" and dragged over some stools to sit. I didn't need to sit, I was kind of happier to stand and mingle. This bar serves usual bar food, but we didn't eat. We totally drank though. It was a Friday after work happy hour and to my surprise, they had happy hour pricing on the delicious craft beers. That was extra cool. The staff here was friendly and helpful. That was the icing. Walked into Barcade on a Sunday evening and had almost the whole place to ourselves. The staff that greeted us was friendly and followed all covid safety procedures (temp check, written info) and seated us at a nice window table. They use the QR code menu's and have a great variety of "bar food". We had the mozzarella sticks and BBQ Ranch Sandwich's which was all really good! You can get up and play the arcade machines throughout your whole visit (with your mask on of course), tokens can be added from your tab and they also have a machine. They have so many classic games, our favorites were Ms. Pac-Man and the racing ones. Overall 10/10, great fun place in the city, would make for a great double date with friends. read more

Very good beer selection and prices about what you'd expect in this part of the city. Lots of space to hang out. I didn't feel the bartender was the friendliest. Was there when it was empty and when it was crowded and she just seemed like she would rather be doing something else. That left a bad taste in my mouth...if you hate your job, quit. Don't try to make everyone else (esp paying customers) hate the place, too. Much like the Brooklyn location, bathrooms are consistently disgusting. This has to be one of the coolest places on earth! This is a bar with all the classic arcade games from the 80's and 90's. You name it...they've got it! Frogger....Ms. Pacman....Galaga....Donkey Kong...Dragon's Lair...and tons more!! Combine all of these awesome classics with a full bar, 80's music, and a decent bar menu....and you might not want to leave. WARNING: This place is quite addicting. I honestly couldn't stop playing these classic 80's arcade games. Every time my friend and I wanted to leave, my brain kept saying "just one more game". The staff was pretty amazing. Everyone from the bartender and servers to the game technicians were friendly and personable. When Qbert wasn't working properly they quickly corrected the problem and averted the tragedy of not having Qbert. I just had to have a Qbert fix after all of these years! :) They have a coin machine that dispenses tokens. Since these tokens are non-refundable, you will want to manage the number of tokens that you purchase and plan accordingly. They serve up both classic bar food alongside alternative options that offer something for everyone. Classic bar food included everything from burgers, sandwiches, and wings, to sliders, fried chicken, nachos, and salads. Alternative standouts include truffle mac and cheese, Philly cheese steak egg rolls, fish tacos, Korean Chili, and short rib grilled cheese. I was there during the middle of the afternoon so I did not wind up purchasing any food. They have a full bar, and the beer selection is exclusively American craft beer featuring local, regional, and national craft breweries. Barcade locations are all certified green by the Green Restaurant Association, which certifies environmentally responsible restaurant and bar operations. For this reason the beer is served exclusively on draft to reduce energy expenditures and avoid recycling costs. They are open nightly until 2 AM and weekends til 4 AM. The kitchen closes two hours before closing time each night. I'm told that it can get quite crowded on the weekends while weekday afternoons are often the quietest periods. There are currently seven locations, with the other Manhattan location in the East Village. All in all, this is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon (or two or three..) with friends or a date. Love the games and the bartenders are attentive but the food we ordered was less then subpar. Nachos came out without jalapeños and hardly covers with cheese (also chicken is not pulled like the menu describes). After taking a chip or two it was sadly giving away to the hoax underneath. One hardly covered layer of nachos revealed what looked like the bottom of a bag of chips. No toppings have even seen a chip below and it was almost impossible to eat without a spoon for they were broken into bits. Yes I know this is an arcade with beer but for the amount of times I've seen people sitting at the bar eating or waiting for food I expected better. Especially for $16. I could have boughten four bags of chips for that price and could have crushed them myself for no extra charge. Honestly not impressed with this place. We organized a corperate outing here on a thursday from 6-9. Thought it would be a big joint with well meaintained games, a great bar, and good food. In reality it was a medium sized place, with mediocre games, and super whatever food, and a super whatever bar. The place was decent sized. Not big, but ok. Wasn't too crowded but not spacious. The games were pretty good in terms of selection, but they weren't maintained that well, and there wasn't as many as i was hoping. Good range in content but just not enough of them for the size and amount of people. Music was way too loud. Couldn't barely hear people sitting two chairs down from me at the table. I like good music but this was just unnecessarily loud. TVs: this is a huge pain point for me. Its the middle of march madness for crying out loud. I like that they want you to play games instead of watch TV. But not a single TV in the place to watch tourney games on? Are you kidding me? Just not cool. Buy some damn TVs for christs sake. Staff were nice and pretty attentive. Bar was ok. Didn't pay much attention to hard liquor, beer selection was whatever. Only like 2 IPAs on draught. And most other beers were pretty no-name beers. Don't get me wrong I like a unique beer selection but this was more cheap than unique. Food? Eh. Not much to say about it to be honest. Probably won't be coming back here again. While every girl I know professes to like this place, it's weird: there never seems to be any women in here. Which I suppose isn't that surprising, because it's a male (from fratboy to hipster to gamer geek) paradise. They have a ton of great beer, a grip of nostalgic arcade games, and all the greasy bar food you'd ever want. Loaded tater tots, nachos of all kinds, philly cheese steak egg rolls, mac and cheese, and all the burgers. They even have a sandwich called the Fat Barcade, which is a burger with kielbasa, tater tots, fried nacho cheese, and ranch on a hero. I like all these things. I will happily spend an evening playing Asteroids, Street Fighter, Contra, Bubble Bobble, and PacMan while drinking Abita, DogfishHead, and Empire, and stuffing fried food into my fat face. Who needs women anyway? Oh right. We do. Because they are better at just about everything. Except video games, drinking beer, and eating too much fatty food. Great concept and fun place that could use some fine tuning. Can't go wrong with a place that serves food and beer with a side of old arcade games. I didn't try any food but they do have a pretty decent yet expensive beer list. The arcade games take tokens not quarters which is lame so be sure to get change for that $20 unless you want an all night gaming marathon. They have consistently changing specials offered, which I've yet to try. I've tried: - Fish Tacos - solid, well fried and seasoned. - Chicken & Waffle Grilled Cheese - this is way too good. It's better than it should be. Just wow. It's so well spiced and nostalgically so - similar to taco seasoning or fritos. The chicken is moist and crispy. Everything just goes so well together. - Tetris Tots - I love tater tots.. so much. That and a roasted beet salad are the two things I can't resist when I see them on a menu. And Barcade's version is so cute and playful with them being in Tetris shapes, which actually is very practical in that it allows for more crispy bits. I will say that Tapper is my favorite game and it absolutely devastates me every time that machine isn't on. It's happened on two separate occasions and puts me in a terrible funk that can only be made better by Tetris Tots. So maybe there's the answer to why Barcade needed to add food. read more

I ordered the Chicken and Waffle Grilled Cheese. The menu online says it comes w/ extra sharp cheddar and fried chicken breast. The kitchen spits out a few sprinkles of cheddar and fried chicken tenders. But the nightmare continues. Along with having the wrong cut of chicken and sparse amounts of cheese, the waffles come soggy. They are never crispy at any point in time. They are never savored at any point in time. And now the syrup, "Sriracha maple syrup". If high fructose corn syrup and hot sauce blended together sound like a match made in heaven, then you need new tastebuds. 2 stars because the waffle mix isn't bad and the chicken tastes okay but everything else was genuinely disappointing. For $16.00, I'd very much like what the menu promises but Barcade doesn't deliver. read more

We walked in looking indecisive and brand new but the bartender Robert was cool and gave us great service right away. Food is basic bar fair (salads, Sammies, nachos, etc). It's a no frills bar but the atmosphere is chill, they have a small but fair selection of games to keep you entertained (especially if you are tipsy) and the staff is pretty chill. What's not to like about this place? This is a chain there are few locations in New York City but this one is probably one of the biggest. There are so many arcade games and pinball games at this place. A lot of times in the city locations that try to do this end up not keeping up with their games and having a lot of games broken down but Barcade keep their machines in good condition and running smoothly. You use the machine to insert cash and get coins to use in the machine. Oh, and you can get drinks here as this is obviously a bar. The bar food is quite good so it makes for a really chill spot to have some drinks placing games and grab something to eat. I would say coming in with 20 bucks will get you coins to play for a couple of hours depending on what you choose of course. Some games are only one coin where others may be up to four coins play. It's a really fun atmosphere and the even have a little outside area where you can play with giant Connect Four and giant Jenga blocks. It's such a fun spot, check it out! read more
