I came here on one of those random spark missions on a Monday where you just go with the flow of the night. One moment you're at dinner and the next you're 6 drinks deep at a dive bar you didn't know existed, walking towards the door to rip a drunk cig with someone you didn't know before the sun went down. Yeah, I have work tomorrow and will be down bad in the morning but I also like to feel like I'm living life here and there ahahaha. I was in here, a corona in the left hand and a skeeball in the right hand, darting those corner pockets 100s like I'm Patty Mahomes throwing no look dimes. Although it's $6 for skeeball which was kinda wild. You get 3 games, but I'd much rather do $2 a pop. There's also a pool table, darts, pinball, etc. Something for everybody in here. I love Alphabet City. I've lived here over a year now and am still learning new things, finding new places seemingly every week. A-TOWN STAND UP! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Came here on a Friday night for my boyfriends birthday. Reserving a table was very easy, via email, and I was surprised I was allowed to do so for a Friday night. It's a lowkey bar with a few arcade games available in the front, and towards the back is a pool table and two dart boards and skeeball. If you're looking to play pool, come with cash. It is two dollars a game, but there is a huge markup if you swipe with your card. The CC minimum for the bar is $20 (3 regular beer of your choice @ $7 each, or 5 house beers at $4 each)

It was a great place. A lot of young people and they have Skee-Ball. Also there were a lot of hot girls at this bar so gents if you're looking to find a girlfriend I highly recommend this place.

    Do they serve Downeast cider?

    Yeah

Do they offer any drink specials when it's someones birthday?

Probably not. But their happy hour is so good, plus their standard offerings are pretty cheap, so you really don't need birthday drink specials.

    How much to play pool?

    $2 per game

    Do they serve food?

Hi - Ace bar does not serve food however you are welcome to bring food in and you can also have food delivered. We have a menu book with over 50 local restaurants who deliver to us! Thanks : )

We marched straight into Dave & Buster's in Times Square, and it was the best executive decision I've ever made. We didn't just eat; we conducted a tactical assault on the menu: Mountain O' Nachos: A literal geological formation of chicken, queso, guac, and jalapeños. We absolutely demolished it. Smokehouse BBQ Ribs & Wings: Fall-off-the-bone honey BBQ pork ribs and buffalo wings. Messy perfection. Chicken Alfredo: Seasoned chicken, mushrooms, and creamy linguine. My sons' absolute favorite. Between commercial breaks, we burned off our 4th-quarter anxiety dominating at Hot Shot Baseball. The atmosphere was electric, and our bartender, Malinda, was an absolute MVP keeping the vibes immaculate. Then, the final buzzer sounded. 58 years of heartbreak--OVER. I looked at my sons, looked at the strangers next to us, and the tough-guy facade completely shattered. Most of the gaming systems have issues: and the remotes are barely functional! Some consoles are not fully configured, and several are not logged into accounts, making proper gameplay impossible. The damn bartender is the one who is supposed to show you how to play the game. He didn't even know what to do and gave a lame ass sorry! The foosball table is entirely unusable, and the pool table is shaky and not steady. The atmosphere is just as bad. The absence of music creates a dull and lifeless atmosphere in the space. The staff appear to be entirely disengaged and unhelpful. I cancelled that damn membership with the quickness and made that boy show me the cancelled part on his screen. Fucking bye forever! First, there is a record store on the first and second level, with tons of inventory from across the decades. I spent most of my time in the sorta-speakeasy-ish bar. Dark, retro. Drinks are pretty basic, but they have fun themes that go along with their karaoke setups. Bartenders were super nice and fun to talk to. The best part is I hit happy hour at just the right time and all my drinks were half price! They have a TON of karaoke rooms that you can rent out singularly or as a group. Prices vary, but you can hit karaoke happy hour and rent out a short time for yourself if you're just wanting to have some fun solo. Themes include superheroes, jazz, sunset blvd, the playboy room, adult movies of the 70s. There is something for everyone. I came here for a work event in honor of a colleague's last day (who I suspect is VERY much the target demo) a few Tuesdays ago. My understanding is that we booked a 6pm to 8pm time slot, featuring an open bar - a cheaper open bar with house spirits, which is certainly what I would have emphasized to whomever had to review the bill later - and...ping pong. K-Town is only a few blocks from where we work, but it's JUST far enough where I rarely walk through it, and it also wasn't a huge destination when I was in college further downtown a little over 20 years ago. Seems edgy from my walks, particularly some of the divey restaurants, but there's probably a reason this might have literally been my debut in the neighborhood. Like nearby Five Iron Golf (and I'm guessing a lot of businesses in this area), Space Ping Pong requires you to go into a generic building lobby and take an elevator up to the actual establishment. I really don't remember this being a thing in literally any other NYC neighborhood but I'm open to feedback. There were employees downstairs - I think more so on behalf of the building overall versus specific businesses - that managed the influx of people and got them quickly onto the elevator and ultimately their destination. It was very blue in there. Space has a definite arcade/Dave & Busters vibe but also a legit bar, so you're getting some edgy, dim lighting to match. I had to deal with potential NJ Transit drama (a day that ends in a y, am I right?) so i only stayed for about 45 minutes. In that time, I did enjoy two refreshing tequila/grapefruits from the open bar, as well as several informal ping pong matches. On the booze front, these weren't particularly strong, which I didn't really care about, especially since it was a Tuesday and I wasn't trying to get into too much mischief. They tasted pleasant enough, and given that a lot of the alcohol here in terms of both spirits and cocktails was very obviously geared toward barely legal young pups (the menu massively gave off Hoboken) it was a marginal win for me. There was a food menu as well that I heard mixed things about after the fact, but I didn't sample the wares so who can say? That also looked like pretty generic bar food for what it's worth. I imagine people are coming for the ping pong primarily, not the refreshments. The ping pong? Also fine. I would suggest that the areas where the ping pong tables are have at least slightly better lighting. I'm not going to claim that the dim party lights played a hand in my ping pong mediocrity, but it WAS a little tough to see some of the lines on the table (which I'm sure have sophisticated names I'm unaware of). Just slightly brighter - you don't need medical examiner room vibes or anything. Also similar to bowling and its equivalent bumpers on the sides, maybe something to more easily catch or capture the errant ping pong balls? They DO have an employee or two pretty regularly going around with this scooper/sucker thing (I think they have this in golf too) but we had a lot of instances of ping pong balls ending up under tables or rolling off somewhere into the abyss. Debatable though; that's arguably part of the game and I don't think anyone's experience here markedly suffered as a result of a stray ball, especially given that there were tons of available ones to grab when the need presented itself. I didn't mind this. All respect to Space Ping Pong, I'm probably hitting up one of the restaurants next time I'm in the area.
