Totally different experiences on the two days we came here. On a Saturday-SO SO BUSY and had to wait in a line to get in. We ended up leaving after a brief look at the up and downstairs because it was so busy. We then came during the week near when it opened and it was AMAZING. Much less busy and we were able to look at everything. Workers were nice and making sure everything was well stocked. There is an up and downstairs and some cool statue/figures. The upstairs has an area where you can game. I found the prices to be VERY fair given the fact they are official Nintendo items. You do have to pay for a bag but it's like 5 cents for paper and $1.50 or so for a reusable one, so not bad. We ended up going a little ham in the store because they had so many cool things I've never seen sold at other places or online. Definitely worthwhile to check out--just make sure you plan the time you go accordingly.

Nintendo is very nostalgic for me as the Super Nintendo was my first gaming console with more later on. Due to the holidays this store was incredibly hectic. Neither my wife or I had intentions on buying anything and this was more of a just checking it out since we have never visited a Nintendo store. They had a variety of offerings that included all of the beloved franchises they are known for. For the holiday season they did have some awesome looking Pokemon winter village decorations. Besides all of the merch available seasonal and not they have some statues of Mario on the flag pole, Bowser and others for photo ops. Also upstairs they have a gaming area as well as a screen that you can interact on the floor to interact with Mario. Solid place to visit for a nostalgic visit for non-kids but just as exciting for the kids to visit as well!

No associate approached me at all. The decor is wonderful. If you don't like the pillars of Nintendo (Mario, link/Zelda , Metroid, Kirby or Metroid )there won't be much for you Good prices especially since In New York

A Nintendo fan's dream! I had a great time looking at and shopping for a variety of Nintendo products. While still a little limited to what they could have in store, there was a variety of merch from home goods, clothing, plushies, games and more to choose from. I did pick up a couple souvenirs for myself and friends and excited especially to add this Statue of Liberty pikachu to the collection.

Haters gonna hate because it's Nintendo, but I'm glad we even have a Nintendo store in NYC and I feel bad for kids who couldn't grow up and feel the magic of playing Super Mario World for the very first time! This store has gone through a lot of small updates over the years, but Bowser and Mario on the flagpole is still there, waiting to take a selfie with you. They have tons of toys and plushies, including Yoshis in so many colors, and I love that they have a little museum now with the older systems on the second floor, including quite a few of their limited editions. They often have the latest first party games you can demo and I believe you get some Nintendo points if you scan your account QR code at purchase.

A total blast for gamers of all ages! The Nintendo Store is a vibrant, interactive space full of nostalgia, energy, and iconic characters. From Mario to Zelda, Pokémon to Animal Crossing, every corner of the store celebrates the magic of Nintendo. The displays were fun and colorful, with plenty of photo ops and exclusive merchandise you can't find anywhere else. Whether you're shopping or just exploring, there's something exciting at every turn. Staff was friendly and kept the energy upbeat, and the store was clean and well-stocked. We could have spent hours there--and honestly, we almost did! If you're even slightly a Nintendo fan, this place is a must-stop while in NYC.

It's been almost 10 years since my last visit to the Nintendo store so I thought it might be best to do an update. My favorite part of my previous visit was the display they had on the 2nd floor that featured every Nintendo system that the company had put out. I was really excited to see it updated with the systems that had come out since then, but I was disappointed to see that this was completely gone. There were a few small display cases for a few special events/anniversaries/etc., but this location has clearly gone from a place to experience/honor the history of Nintendo to a straight up retail store. There is nothing different between this location and, say, the new store in San Francisco that just opened up & I visited a month earlier. It was, if I'm being honest, a bit disappointing. I get that this is ironic for me to say because I mentioned in my previous review that I wish it had more merch. (I do think my previous 3 star rating might have been a bit too harsh). However, the pendulum swing is so far in the opposite direction. I really think there is a great middle ground they could find to both honor Nintendo & its history and sell some great exclusive merchandise. It's great to see that this store is evolving. I hope that the next time I come here (which hopefully will be in less than another 10 years), it will have improved.

For the Nintendo fan, this is the spot! A fun store with options from browsing their inventory of all the favorite characters to playing some Mario Cart on their big screen with fellow patrons! A nice spot to stop in but not really to relax as it can get busy! But fun experience overall and will be back again. Enjoy!

Back in the 80s, we had Atari and Coleco. They seemed to hold their own in terms of popularity for quite some time. Not too long after Atari started to fizzle out, Nintendo was introduced to the world. Super Mario Brothers' popularity propelled Nintendo into the top spot for gaming systems/platforms. Nintendo New York has been on my list for a while now. I still have my Game Boy at home, so this whole store gave off a bit of a nostalgic vibe. Of course when you walk in, you'll hear all of the sound effects from various video games. You'll also see different statues of Mario etc which are perfect for photo ops. The top floor seems to be where most people could be found. They have a lot of plushies and apparel. The clothing and hats all have the Nintendo logo(s) on them as well as silk screens of Pikachu and characters from Super Mario Brothers. What I liked the most was the display cases that have all of the different systems that Nintendo has produced over the years. I was trying to see which ones that I still have at home as well as the ones that did not last as long as I would have liked. It amazes me to see just how far Nintendo has come when you think back to how it all started. Nintendo has been around for over 30 years. Their games have evolved with ever changing technology and updated graphics over time. Their products appeal to people from all age groups and have withstood the test of time. Nintendo NY is a modern place that is full of a lot of nostalgia. I am glad that we visited Nintendo NY because it brought back memories of playing video games night and day during my childhood.

I was really excited to check out this store on my visit in NYC. I personally play lots of Nintendo games growing up and even still sometimes play them as an adult. It is two stories with a very clean looking interior. Fun literally statues through the store of Nintendo characters to see. Definitely tons of cool merchandise that you probably could not get in other locations. A good example of this is their statue of liberty Pikachu! It seemed that they also had an area that was for testing out games before they are released. I was expecting a bit more from this store, but still think it is worth stopping by if you grew up playing Nintendo games.

Awesome store, a must hit when you're in the city. Lots of merchandise, almost too much. The only complaint I have is the clerk didnt ring up one of my shirts and put it in our bag and we didn't notice until we got back home. I'll have to buy it online

This was on hubs places to visit while in the city. We were actually in area and decided to stop in. 2 stories and lots of areas to play games and purchase merchandise. I thought it would've been bigger with more interactive stuff but still cool to visit.

Large flagship store for all of your iconic characters like Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Legend of Zelda, the whole Pokemon assortment and more. Lots of New York specific attire and even Liberty Pikachu plushies. This is a two story building with lots of great photo op spots next to your favorite characters. There is lots of foot traffic walking in here to browse and shop. Staff are busy everywhere around the store but seem helpful and knowledgeable with their products.

How can I Contact nintendo ny?

How's the selection of Pokémon merchandise?

It's good. They have a few sections of Pokémon stuff. If you want the specifics of what they have in stock you should call in

Do they sell individual right-side joy-cons?

They do on the online nintendo website and also I believe they are in the world store on the first floor but as far as actually being in stock it may be better to call if it's out of your way. Also gamestop should have these both used and new.

    How is the parking?

Non-existent; we walked from Times Square which is pretty easy

    1) Do they have a fairly large Pokémon selection? Whether it be cards, stuffed animals, shirts, etc.?…

    Yes

Can I sell my pokemon cards to them?

No it's a Nintendo retail store and they don't have anything to do with Pokémon cards.

    Do they sell games here?

Yes! They sell all the most recent Switch and 3DS games

Are the prices here cheaper than the website or are they the same as price as the website? (For example would a Nintendo switch cost 300 dollars there as well on the website

The prices are pretty much identical to online and at GameStop. About 90% of their merchandise is purchasable at regular places. That was a bit disappointing. :(

Can you purchase a Nintendo Switch and Accessories for it there?

Yes though they do get a small selection every day so it might sell out quickly. Call before going or go when they open.

I hear the lines are long. Is this to get in or for the cashier? When is the least crowded day/time to visit?

We went during Christmas, it was busy but the only line was for the cashier, they have 3 to 4 people working so even that was fast especially for a few days after Christmas. Great store.

I live in CA & I've seen some videos of people at this store and I loved some of the baby clothes that are there. Is there anyway I can buy them online??? I can't seem to find any links on the website to purchase clothes. Please help!!

    https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/browse/subcategory.jsp?categoryId=cat960155

    Can you repair mi wii?

Unfortunately I do lot believe they do repairs. This is just a retail shop that sell exclusive items. I recommend contacting Nintendo directly through their site about any repairs.

The Atari 7800 ProSystem was my first video game console. My dad got one for our family sometime in…read morethe mid-to-late 80s so I was around the ages of four to seven when I played it. The Nintendo quickly took over so our time with the 7800 was short-lived. However, the 7800 will always hold a special place in my heart since it was the first. Also, it's the only console and games I no longer own because my mom gave them away (sore subject), so it only exists in my memory and feels elusive. The 7800 launched in North America in May 1986 at $140 (USD). In 2020 dollars, that's $329.53. Not cheap. The system was discontinued in 1992 and I think a big reason why is because Nintendo dominated the video game market. The 7800 was highly overshadowed by the NES and I believe it has gone down as one of Atari's least memorable consoles. Atari's best-known console is its first, the 2600/VCS (1977). The subsequent 5200 (1982), Lynx (1989) with its portable color screen, and Jaguar (1993) with 64 bits were also more popular. Sadly, the 7800 kind of faded into obscurity. Here's a list of the Atari 7800 games we had, to the best of my recollection. Most of these are classics. * Asteroids (1987) The graphics on this were pretty decent for the time. * Centipede (1987) Challenging. I found the box art to be fascinating and not at all what was portrayed on the television screen. * Choplifter! (1987) I loved this game. I thought it was funny you could squash hostages and I would trick my mom into killing them that way. * Dig Dug (1986) The concept of literally blowing up enemies to defeat them was strange and bizarre to me, even as a kid. * Food Fight (1987) Perhaps the most memorable 7800 game to me. I remember the piles of greens were quite puny and it was fun to eat the ice cream before it melted. * Ms. Pac-Man (1986) What I remember most about Ms. Pac-Man were the cutscenes that played in between stages, eventually showing a stork delivering a Pac-Man baby. * One-on-One: Dr. J vs. Larry Bird (1987) This game taught me what "one-on-one" and double dribble (and/or traveling) meant and introduced me to Dr. J and Larry Bird. I probably thought Dr. J was an actual medical doctor. * Pole Position II (1986) As a kid, I had no idea what "Pole Position II" meant other than it was an F1 racing game. My first racing game experience. * Xevious (1986) This was my first shooter game and I had to learn how to differentiate airborne enemies and ground enemies. It took a different weapon to destroy each one. The controller for the 7800 was interesting because it featured a joystick and two side buttons. I remember our joysticks wore out fast and accumulated a lot of white powder/shavings/residue of some sort from all the friction the stick made with the controller base. I wouldn't regularly play a home console with a joystick again until the release of the Nintendo 64 in 1996. It was then that sticks became regular on game controllers again. Overall, I thought the graphics and gameplay on the 7800 were decent, but the sound definitely left something to be desired. The 7800 was backwards-compatible with 2600 games. My friend brought over some of his 2600 games and we played them that way. I remember Combat (1977) and Frogger (1981) in particular. I also somehow got my hands on, I believe, a copy of Asteroids (1983) for the 5200 (perhaps from overseas), but it didn't work on the 7800. The game would come through all garbled. These days (2020), Atari is still alive and kicking and its biggest news most recently is the launch of Atari Hotels. Yes, hotels. Video game-themed hotels in eight American cities with the first one slated to break ground in mid-2020 in Phoenix, Arizona. Personally, I love the concept, but question its viability. Good luck, Atari! I'm rooting for you.
