Please avoid this store. Gamestop regional management, if you are assessing each store manager's performance, please pay close attention to the store manager at the union square location. He was behaving like he was the king here. How could such a person get promoted to store manager? What a toxic environment.
The store manager here is very unfriendly and aggressive towards customers. I came here to shop for holiday gift earlier today. I carried two shopping bags, one particularly big and heavy that I could barely move around with, b/c I did some shopping right before I came to this store. I asked one staff whether I could leave my bags at the front with the cashier. He was friendly and helped me put my two shopping bags beside the cashier's counter. After a while, I heard a person calling whose bags are these, and I said mine. He carried the bags over to me and left them in front of me, saying, "you need to look after these, we can't, I can't explain," and just left. I was so surprised b/c every store I've been to if I have a lot of shopping bags, they would help store them somewhere so I could continue my shopping in their store. Given I was in a hurry and really wanted to finish my shopping, I decided to just purchase the items I wanted here, although I really wanted to change a store since his action towards me was so cold and unfriendly. After paying for my items, I asked him whether he was the store manager and he said yes. I asked him why I couldn't leave my shopping bags at the cashier. Every store I've been to would at least store customers' shopping bags. I'm here to shop and I cannot carry such heavy bags around while shopping. He cut me off and jeered at me, "Everyone is here to shop." I was so shocked by his attitude towards me and the fact that he wouldn't even let me finish my words. I then said your staff helped me store the bags there, and he replied, "Oh I felt bad b/c everyone is kicking ur bags since they were in the way." Why then wouldn't he pull the bags inside? There was plenty of space between where cashiers stood and the wall. Maybe b/c I speak with some accent, he looked at me the whole time like I was being funny. I then said, you need to train your staff b/c you and he are inconsistent with this store policy. He asked me with an aggressive tone, "I need to train my staff?" I said yes b/c you are giving conflicting information. I said tbh he is much more friendly than you. He said, "OK, bye." He doesn't care about his action and what customers think. If there is a store policy of not storing customer's bags while customers shop, he didn't even bother explaining that to me. And there is no such policy, b/c what kind of company would make such a ridiculous policy? read more
