There are bookstore cats! Alas, Logos does smell like cat food. But whatever. There are BOOKS. It's a decent selection for a fairly smallish store. All the classics, some curated mystery and suspense, sections for psychology, biographies, and history, etc. There was a charming young lady working today. My mother said that sometimes there's an old guy behind the counter. She's a frequent visitor and book buyer. Prices are retail. I got an Ann Rule book that I don't have, to read by the river. I have not seen "You" and was unaware it existed until my mother mentioned it. read more

Extremely poor visit, and particularly to our family. Space was small and untidily arranged and the owners appeared to be unmannerly and critical. During the visit we did not feel welcome. The shop was messy and smelled bad and we did not purchase any items. Worthless to go in. read more

What a disappointing experience, for our family, especially my daughter, who loved the popular series YOU. Its a total waste of a journey. It was cramped. The owners seemed more interested in being rude, than helping customers. They were quick to judge us for being in the bookstore for wrong reasons. I was going to buy a book until the owner opened her mouth and felt the need to say there's no point in taking photos. There were random kids prams, cat platforms, and beds scattered about. It smelt like wee. We left feeling so disappointed. I'd like to know who actually owns this space and if the current bookshop owner (if not the actual landlord) is willing to move out (please do us all a favor). It is shameful that the only bookshop in Yorkville looks and smells the way this does. I entered and was greeted with one of the worst stenches I've encountered (and I say this as a native NYer so you know how bad this is). The bookshop, if you can even call it that, must be a front for someone's living space. There are litter boxes everywhere. Also, I noticed food in old containers on the bottom book shelves. The place smells of urine and bad BO. I couldn't even get to the books because there are obstacles everywhere and what looks like somebody's bed right in the middle of the aisles. Can someone please buy this place and turn it into a cool bookshop we so desperately need in this part of town?! Please! read more

staff ruin the whole experience. They're lazy, unprofessional, and openly disrespect customers instead of doing their job. This behavior drives people away and makes the store look bad. Unless these employees are replaced or managed properly, I do not recommend this location. I'll also be reporting this to the corporation. read more

My daughter was very excited to visit this bookstore otherwise known as "Mooney's" from Netflix's You. When we arrived, a man behind the counter scolded her when she asked if this was in fact the actual bookstore on You. He denied that it was and went on a rant for nearly five minutes about how he felt women were crazy for visiting the bookstore based on a serial killer tv series. We were going to purchase several books (they appeared to have a decent selection to choose from) to read on our way home to Minneapolis but decided to leave. read more

I love this place! Idk why the reviews on this are a hit or miss. It's a fairly small bookstore and you can tell the owner loves animals which isn't bad. This is the cutest indie bookstore and they have not one, but TWO store cats who are very chonky bois. The owner was really nice and they have a great selection of new and old titles, with an extensive section of religious and spiritual titles. read more

I Luv YOU- The Netflix series, so I was super excited to visit this bookstore that's pretty much the basis of the storyline. This was the place where the lead character meets his leading ladies, but unlike the show the actual bookstore is really small. There's shelves upon selves of books separated into categories, and a few tamed cats walking around. Owner was super friendly and informative, first thing I asked him was does he know why I'm here; he nodded. Owner explained that the show only filmed clips and snippets of his storefront, any additional sets were filmed in a soundstage up in the Bronx. Logos carries vast array of books from nonfiction all the way to children's literature. There is a small basement, but owner said it's to stock inventory. So glad I visited this place, then I realized I'm a total Cornball! read more

If you've seen the television show series "You" on Lifetime or binge-watched on Netflix, the exterior of this Upper East Side bookstore was filmed to portray Mooney's bookstore. The interior looks different since the interior of Mooney's was filmed on a set in the Bronx (so you won't be seeing a glass box in the basement, etc.). However, you will find a friendly cat named Mr. Boo Boo. If you pet him long enough, he may purr himself to sleep. The staff here are very friendly and this is my favorite bookstore in the neighborhood. They offer gift wrapping for any books, and sell other items such as a fine assortment of greeting cards, children's books accompanied with puppets/toys/stuffed animals, and bookmarks. There's a couple boxes of used books (not on the shelves) where the price ranges are from $2-$5. Hope you get to visit this friendly bookstore & take home a nice book or two! read more

Was looking forward to supporting a local independent bookstore but immediately upon entering, I wanted to leave. There's trash and cat beds everywhere, making it difficult to walk around to look at the extremely limited book selection (there were even empty Big Gulp cups on a shelf). The place reeks of cats and they look so overweight and unhealthy. There was a woman sleeping towards the back, blocking an aisle of books which added to the absurdness. read more

I went in with my 6 year old daughter, and as she selected the Night Before Christmas, right next to it, was a book about two teenage boys in a love affair. The pictures were explicit and the content I do not believe should be right next to children's books for a 6 year old. I think this irresponsible on behalf of the owner. I am pro books of all kinds, but in age appropriate sections. I also did not find many religious books as the review states. read more

Once I entered, the employee-manager essentially body-blocked me from going further into the shop, I assumed I'd gotten the hours wrong, he said 'no, but can I help you?', and soon as I said my title and author (a book on contemporary US history) he--without skipping a millisecond much less checking any records--spouted back 'I'msorrywedon'thavethat'. Great bookstore. There exists a wonderful staff, and a great array of books. It reminds me of the bookshop in "You've Got Mail." That is, the small, independent one, owned by Meg Ryan. I love Barnes and Noble, but there is something about supporting the smaller shops. There is a quaint atmosphere that, like starbucks for the coffee world, cannot be obtained by the corporate machines. The store includes: cards, gifts, best sellers, children's books, children's literature, children's hour, classics, fiction, poetry, philisophy and a lot on spirituality and religion. read more

Everyone was so kind in the bookstore and it was super cute inside! Need COVID to be over because I could spend hours in there. They had hand sanitizer for the customers right as you walked in, which is awesome because a lot of places don't have that. Logos also has a really cute cat! Great little bookstore tucked away in upper Manhattan. I ordered Tactics, by Greg Koukl, a little under a week ago, and was able to pick it up Friday night. I didn't really have the opportunity to explore, but they seem to have good classics and religion sections. Really helpful, friendly service from, presumably, the owner. And yes, cats. 2 adorable little cats. If you're not a cat person, I'm sure you'll find other things to appreciate. read more

This is one of the few remaining bookstores on the UES and although small has a decent variety of children's books, nonfiction and fiction. Most importantly, it is very easy for them to order any books they don't physically carry in the store. They have ordered a few for me that arrived within a day or two. Just swing by or call them at 212.517.7292 to check whether they the title you are looking for. They have two adorable cats, which is always a heart-warming part of any visit. I encourage everyone to support a local business and order your books from here. If you have a toddler, consider joining Lily on Mondays at 3pm. I have never had a worse retail experience. First, the young man behind the counter simply ignored me when I walked in, while he was looking down at his phone. When I finally asked him for a local history book, he immediately told me he didn't have it, then seemed unsure. When I asked him about the local history section, he pointed me to the history section, which was located nowhere near the local history books that are on the counter near the cashier. Finally, I chose another book from this section. When I handed him my debit card, he slammed it down on the counter, as he returned it to me, needless to say not thanking me for my purchase. Logos is a true mom-and-pop bookstore. It's small, quaint and after just a few visits the staff starts to remember you, which can be good and bad depending on what type of book you are looking for. I knew I would like to store, not just because I am right in the neighborhood but more so by the title of their book club "Kill Your TV". The book club just celebrated their 10th anniversary and has read some amazing book, non-fiction and fiction included. (I received a list of all the books the club has read the last time I went into the store.) I went to my first book club earlier this month where we read Don Quixote, a personal favorite of mine. The group was eclectic and very interesting. Another plus, free (yes, I said it....FREE) wine and cheese & crackers, that earned it another star right there! read more

Was a pleasure to visit. The gentlemen working there were easy-going and very helpful. They're well-stocked with all the classics as well as current best sellers. Their cards and stationery selections are unique - not your typical drugstore Hallmark stuff - and inexpensive too! Logos is a pleasure to visit in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. One reviewer recommended picking up a book and heading to Carl Shurz Park, which is across the street. A good way to spend an afternoon if you want to feel as if you have escaped the city. Logos has a good variety of books for adults and children, and staff are helpful and able to order anything they do not have in stock. They host a monthly "Kill Your TV" Book Club with intelligent selections as well as occasional readings. They have a few chairs around in case you feel like staying to read, which is a nice touch, too. This place is worth your business. It is not a mega-bookstore with a Starbuck's attached, but everything you'd want in a neighborhood bookstore. read more

This is one of my favorite places in Yorkville and in NYC. We are lucky to have Logos here and I hope they stick around forever. I always want to buy everything. A great place to purchase thoughtful gifts and meaningful books/items to read and treasure. A great place to browse. I've purchased a Catholic Bible here, stick on Bible tabs, books on Orthodox Christian spirituality and some Orthodox gift items, and an encouraging book on Christianity from an African American perspective. While it has a superb selection of Christian books, it has lots of other interesting books on other religions and all kind of subjects. read more

Oasis on the UES. Cute, comfortable and not big and commercial. They have a decent assortment of current and classic books, specializing in religious and spiritual. If they don't have the book you want, they can special order. They have a nice assortment of cards for all occasions, and always have good music playing.
