Manga! 2nd location of Japanese book /anime super fan collectibles store, now in Industry City. Awesome figurines, collectibles, Manga, Japanese video games, books, Funko Pops, keychains, etc. of your favorite anime. The store is on the small side, but packed tightly with merchandise. One large wall filled with Funko. For those die-hard fans looking for something specific, do keep in mind that this is a small store, but it is in Industry City so there are plenty of other shops and foods to check out. Book-Off only takes up a small portion of the 2nd floor. The rest of the floor is for other businesses that will be opening up in the future. Book-Off is Japan's largest successful new and used books chain, founded in 1991. They have almost 900 stores, worldwide. They will pay you cash for your old books, dvd's or video games. Location: You can enter through Sunrise Mart, then go through the other doors right across. Look to the right, there are elevators and a flight of stairs. Book-Off is on the second floor. Daiso is also on this floor. There is also a bathroom next to the Daiso entrance

My husband and I love to shop at used book stores. There are so many great books at affordable prices at Bookoff.

It had that fun, slightly chaotic "treasure hunt" vibe where you can easily lose track of time just browsing through the boxes of comics. Whether you're into classic issues or newer releases, there was a huge variety to dig through. Beyond the comics, the store also had an impressive selection of figures and collectibles. There were displays filled w/ characters from different franchises, and it was really cool seeing how much variety they carried. It's def the kind of place where you keep spotting something new. The overall vibe of the shop was very laid-back & welcoming. It felt like a space made for true fans, where you can take your time, explore,& just enjoy being surrounded by everything comic and pop-culture related. The young lady who helped me was talkative & friendly. She rung me out quickly & efficiently. You could catch a couple of deals but for the most part the everything was MRSP listed prices. I collect magnets so I scored a horror one from the movie The Lost Boys. Overall, it was a really fun visit. If you're into comics, figures, or just collecting cool items, this is def the kind of shop you could spend a long time in w/o even realizing it. I didn't even get to go through everything so I'll be back. Stop by 5/2 for free comic book day!

Finally! A place where people can go and become superheros. or at least try stuff on and play…read morearound like they're a superhero. In our short visit we determined which of us was a *villain*, found some very clever disguises, tried on a cape and tried to fly. It was a awesome time. Oh and this place is actually a learning center for the kids! Disguised as a store. So clever! The staffer/volunteer in front told us there are actually several of these shops set up across the country. ie: Pirate Supply Store in San Fran and the Bigfoot Research Institute in Boston.

My awesome little friend Max loved his evil blob containment device, and he still hasn't made it to the store yet. Brought a friend who was visiting from Los Angeles here the other Day and he was such a sport he tested out the cape on top of the cape tester machine. Given that he's a creative and works with tons of kids I figured the experience would be priceless. End result: it was. He ate it up. Can't wait to hear how much he loves the Time Travel Mart - in Los Angeles, and the Pirate Supply Store in San Francisco. Dave you're an incredible guy! Love the way your brain works, and how contagious your ideas are. http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/dave_eggers_makes_his_ted_prize_wish_once_upon_a_school.html Date Rating: 10 (This is the BEST place to take a person with a beating heart. Just take a peek into the tutoring room in the back with all of the happy kids and volunteers. If your date doesn't think you're cool because you know about this place - dump them immediately). Pick up Scale: N/A (Bring your own friends the people here are fun to talk to but not a place for mingling). Strong Suggestion: Take the train, walk a few blocks, enjoy the restaurants nearby. GREAT afternoon activity, lots of fun things to see and do nearby.
