All was good except the nachos. Skip it. After a game of bowling, some of us stayed and did some karaoke. Personally think this is a good place to bowl, sing, and do other things like pingpong and pool, but the location is not ideal. Port authority gets really sketchy after dark. I don't normally leave reviews but I was very impressed by my experience here. I celebrated my 40th birthday with their karaoke lounge, open bar, and food package. The karaoke lounge looks great, song selection was easy to input (they have a private app that guests can scan a QR code and enter songs - I found it much easier and less annoying than other karaoke bars). I set relatively moderate expectations for the food (how good could it be at a bowling alley?), but it was quite good, guests specifically commented on how good the mac & cheese bites and coconut shrimp were. There were several unexpected and unprompted service moments that really went above and beyond for me, including being greeted with pitchers of margaritas and sangria, a round of birthday shots midway through, and setting up a table for us outside the lounge after our reservation was over that we could continue eating and drinking. The price was very reasonable. Overall 10/10 experience, I will highly recommend to my friends and I plan to return. read more

My friends and I went to Frames last night and rented a lane for 2 hours and we had a great time. One thing to note- you are required to check your coupon arrival, it's complimentary but required! Once we got upstairs we couldn't believe how big it was! Multiple different bars, pool tables, karaoke, so many fun options. The highlight was the DJ, we were loving everything he was playing. Bowling birthday parties are only for kids? Nope, we're doing bowling for my birthday! I haven't bowled in a few years, so it was time to dust off the ball & shoes and shake off the rusty joints. My wife set up the party reservation with Laura. We were expecting 30+ people, so we were placed on 6 lanes for 2 hrs of bowling with food & drinks served at each pair of lanes. We arrived just before opening at 11am on a Sunday and rode the elevator up to the 2nd floor. They let us in a few minutes early to get set up with shoes & ball selection. I remember the lanes here in Port Authority from the old days (80's) and they have really modernized the place. With electronic scoring system, you don't have to do math with pencil & paper anymore. Soon platters of party food & pitchers of soda arrived. The Chicken Fingers are crispy & HuGe! They came with a variety of dipping sauces. Next were the Buffalo Wings, which were pretty mild as was the Blue Cheese dipping sauce. We also had a platter of crispy fries and another of Hamburger Sliders, which were really good. Everybody was enjoying the food and throwing strikes & spares with high fives all around. It had been close to 10 years since I've touched a bowling ball and it showed with my erratic throws, but the old muscle memory came back at the end when I threw a XXX "turkey" in the 10th frame. If I could give a zero stars I would!!!! This was one of the worst-managed experiences I've had at a bowling establishment. It took over an hour to receive one bucket containing six canned drinks, and that delay was only addressed after I tracked down a manager. The manager on duty between 11:00 PM and 12:40 AM was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility. When I requested a refund and explained we had a train to catch, his response was, "That seems to be a personal problem." If something goes wrong during a late-night visit, do not expect management to help you. The lack of accountability and basic customer service made the situation worse. Being charged in full after this experience shows a complete disregard for customers. Ownership and corporate leadership should reevaluate who they trust to run their business during peak hours. read more

I ended up going to Frames Bowling Lounge for a evening work function. My colleagues and I took the subway to get to Frames Bowling Lounge. It's located near Time Square. When you first walk in, you'll notice a bar area to your left. It was completely empty at the time we had entered. The bar had plenty of seating available. The Frames Bowling Lounge is located on the second floor. You have to take an elevator up to the second floor. Just to note, the elevator's max capacity is 5 people only. When my colleagues and I got to the second floor, there was a long line waiting to go down the elevator. Once you walk in though, you're presented with a lot of bowling lanes and TV screens. The shoes are off to your right, within individual cubby spots that light up. Shoe sizes are labeled on the bowling shoes. Bowling balls are provided complimentary from Frames Bowling Lounge. We had some food catered through Frames Bowling Lounge. Some of the offerings included the following Flatbread Spicy Pizza Mini Meatball Sliders Chips and Guacamole Chicken Empanada The food was decent. The Chips and Guacamole were my favorite though. There was seasonings on the chips that really enhanced the Guacamole dip! Bowling was fun. It was easy to setup our user names in the system. Our team didn't have any issues with the lane or the pins. Service was slow at the bar though. I only had requested soda, a sprite. Each time I went to the bar area, all of the team members were extremely busy. I would have to wait over 15 minutes each time. There is also an arcade, ping pong, and pool tables in the Frames Bowling Lounge area where you can hang out. Frames Bowling lounge is modernized and I had a lot of fun! The bowling lanes were really oily though. My bowling ball hook so much! This is a great location to host events at. The boyfriend planned a date night here and he made reservations ahead of time. For two hours of bowling for two people, it was almost $140, which is very pricey. Since you're reserving by lanes, it's definitely more worth it if you come with 4-6 people instead of 2. The shoe rental is included as well, where you can grab yourself along their wall of shoes once we checked in. The space is modern and fun with a clubbing vibe. While the place is big and beautiful, this experience wasn't what we expected. We organized a party for my nieces and their friends, a group of bright, college-bound African American high schoolers. They were having fun, as kids do, but things took a turn when the manager decided to call the cops on them for "horsing around." It was incredibly upsetting and unnecessary, especially in today's climate. Beyond that, the service was disappointing. We had a group of 50 guests, and everything felt slow and lackadaisical. The bartenders seemed overwhelmed. Alexandjr was slow and came off rude, Natalia kept forgetting orders, and while Leo was decent, he was the only one who seemed to have it together that night. As someone who spent a good amount of money to make sure everyone had a good time, I expected better treatment and professionalism from Frames NYC. Calling the police on kids just having a good time is not the kind of experience anyone should have to deal with. Comes in handy on the weekends when it gets crowded. From there, you can get a drink across at the bar or go upstairs to the bowling on the second floor. Went here last night with a friend and initially had a good time -- we bowled, played pool, had drinks and snacks, and socialized a bit. Toward the end of the night, things took a weird and uncomfortable turn. I handed my card to the bartender to pay and told him I needed to run to the bathroom. When I came back, I got briefly distracted, but when I returned to get my card, the bartender claimed he didn't have it. The people who were at the bar when I left weren't there anymore, and suddenly no one could explain where my card had gone. I started asking around -- rallying other people in the restaurant -- because I knew I had handed it over. After some back-and-forth, the bartender suddenly claimed he "found" it where my bag had been on the couch, saying it had somehow slipped between the cushions. That didn't sit right with me, especially because I had personally checked that area multiple times. Now there are a bunch of charges from this place, and we can't even figure out which ones are actually ours. The whole thing feels shady, like someone tried to take advantage of the situation -- either by hiding my card or using it themselves. Really disappointing ending to an otherwise fun night. We had such a great experience here! I came in with a group that can be a little hard to please, but they had a fantastic time--and that says a lot. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and really made us feel taken care of from the moment we arrived. Sarah at the front desk was a total gem. She was kind, patient, and super helpful as we upgraded our package to better suit our group. Even though she was clearly juggling multiple parties and being pulled in several directions, she never made us feel rushed and handled everything with total grace. Our server (I wish I could remember his name!) was equally amazing--attentive, professional, and on point throughout.
