I am not one to write bad reviews, but this place REALLY needs a bad review. I came here with 2 other family members, both of whom were bowlers for many years, so all three of us had our own bowling shoes. The price for a lane rental was $60 for one hour, and $8 per person for shoe rentals. But of course, if you have your own shoes, you don't need to pay that extra $24 ($8 per person), right? WRONG. You get charged here to rent shoes even if you already have your own. That is a very crooked and unfair policy, which I have never experienced at any other bowling alley anywhere. One hour is not a lot of time for bowling, so you don't get enough playing time for your money. Then, on top of all that, the lanes are so dry that every ball you roll pulls to the left, making the experience very frustrating if you've ever bowled on lanes that are oiled. For that price, you will not get much bowling done in one hour, so it should be either less for rental or more time allowed for bowling to make it worth the price. And for SURE, they should NOT charge for shoe rental if the client has his or her own shoes. I would not recommend this place if you want a good and fair bowling experience for a decent price. There's tons of space. At the door, they scan your id. Your bag gets checked and you head to the second floor. There's bowling and billiards. I also saw skee-ball machines for $2 in coins per try and shuffle board. I came for a birthday party. The empanadas, sliders, and pizza were pretty good. This is great place for a date, family night out or work event. We were a large group so we had 6 lanes reserved and we had appetizers for everyone such as sliders, quesadillas, pizza, chicken tenders etc. It was great finger food to eat while we bowled. As soon as we walked in and got off the elevator we went to front desk, they gave us our lanes and showed us where we can get our shoes. There is a wall of bowling shoes, separated by size where you can pick from. If you're going with children on a Friday night you need to go early because after 8 pm it is strictly 21 and over. Since we went with children we got there at 6 pm and they were able to get the bumpers up when the children bowled. Bowling is a sport in that your arms will be sore or your fingers will cramp and nails will wither. For $30 for unlimited 2 hour bowling, we played about 1.5 games for 6 people. Getting shoes was so efficient, given they were self serve, so you no longer had to go through the troubles of asking someone for your size. A pitcher of water was provided for each lane. There was also a bar area. I loved the pop music with a screen playing the MV, which elevated the fun party vibes. I usually have a gripe with bowling lounges that are too flashy, dark, or too loud, but Frames was just right in every regard. The sad thing here is the machine does cut you off right on the dot if you're playing unlimited games. The score also doesn't reset into the next game, unless there was an option to do that on the machine. 1.5 games may not sound like a lot, but I think we all played enough to feel satisfied. I had the WORST experience at this bowling spot - -When I ordered a round of shots it took around 30 mins for it to arrive to our table, after I checked up on it. -When you make a reservation, be sure to reserve the minimum number of people that will be arriving (because you're allowed to add on once you get there, but you won't get a refund for no-shows). -The music is TOO loud, I had to shout to talk to my friends, but I understand that some people make enjoy it. -The worst part of it all was the COAT CHECK. My friends waited 50 minutes for us outside, here's what happened: They made several of the early parties coat check, which was totally fine. When we were done bowling, our friend was first in line and he hands his ticket to the staff and she walks away with it. After waiting for some time, they eventually made everybody on line move to the back where the closet was. When we arrive to the back, nobody has our ticket and when we try to explain the situation, they brush him off telling him he needs to wait until everybody gets their jacket, even though the staff member took our ticket and lost it. How does that make sense? We kept trying to explain the situation to several staff members and they shrugged their shoulders as if there was nothing they can do about it. Eventually, after they tended to everybody else, we were finally able to point out his jacket. This whole process was unorganized and complete chaos. There was no apology, no nothing and I was visiting from out of town - we wasted 50 mins of our time just to get his coat. read more

We had a company event at Frames last week and everyone had a blast! Laura (our sales rep) was a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. She was really helpful & clear while planning and on our party day she totally made sure we were taken care of. We booked the "Red Carpet Affair" + "VIP Lanes" packages for a group of 11 adults. The price was definitely worth it for the activities, the open bar (including top shelf booze) and great food. We chose crowd-pleasing/pub fare food from a giant menu of options and it was reeeeeally good - in fact, probably better than it had to be hahaha. There was plenty to go around and people were snacking all night. We started the night with two private bowling lanes in a private room (so much fun!) and had a super attentive personal server who kept the food and drinks flowing. After our bowling timeslot we then moved to a reserved ping pong/lounge area in the main space. Even though our private party ended, we didn't want to leave! Most of us hung out for a few more hours near the bar having drinks and playing pool & shuffleboard (there was no charge for those activities). The ping pong and pool/shuffleboard lounges were roomy with plenty of comfy seating for a group. We never felt crowded and the whole night felt like an exclusive private party. Frames def the vibe! It was a group of us bowling and we did the private karaoke room which was dope. The wings and fries were top tier but drinks not so much! They watered down everything they served and argued with u when u asked for a few splashes more. We also played pool. I think I saw a ping pong table as well. Beware of the manager who is extremely unprofessional. I went up to a worker during a private event and asked if I could request a song. She had an attitude with me, brushed me off, and went back and forth with me for NO reason whatsoever. I have present and old memories of this place. I definitely have seen lots of updates and changes. However, there is still room for improvement in the actual bowling equipment and system. Bar and service staff were lovely. The new entrance and host are a little awkward. The basic bar food fare was up to standard, and what they say about the sangria is ABSOLUTELY true! They leave a pitcher of water at your section and the bathrooms are spacious and clean. It's location within Port Authority is a major detractor and the attempt to separate itself by allowing entrance from the street is puzzling (esp for anyone who remembers the entrance on 8th Ave). Frames enforces a WHOLE dress code after a certain hour so be sure to take a look at it. Took my niece and nephew here for a family Sunday fun day. The food is absolutely delicious. Bowling was super fun and the staff was really nice. Only complaint is they need to update their bowling shoes. Most of the shoes seemed to be worn out to the point they had rips and tears. I've been to several bowling alleys when I was younger, and hated them all because the cleanliness was always questionable, places always looked rundown, and they were never fun. Frames is easily the cleanest bowling alley I've ever visited. Very upscale for a bowling alley! Imagine my surprise walking to the entrance and being greeted by the security! Ever seen security at a bowling alley? Me either! The food is surprisingly good considering my previous bowling alley encounters. But the mandatory 4-person minimum to play is frustrating when you just want a casual game with a friend. My friend and I had to pay for 2 non-existent players in order to bowl! Which made our night a little more expensive than we were expecting! I didn't expect to pay that much to bowl for 90 minutes! I do love how professional and timely the place is though! When your time starts, servers bring you whatever you ordered in the package you chose immediately (me and my friend chose wings and margaritas!) and it was great! Went to celebrate a family member's birthday. We were having a great time. We had a few orders of wings and drinks. I then ordered a chicken sandwich before 7pm, it was delicious but arrived very close to 8pm. We had children in our group and kids aren't allowed after 8pm. Security was not kind or understanding, even though I told them about the delay on my sandwich. They were pressuring us to leave. Our bowling game was also stopped before 8pm. The wait staff were very kind and helpful. The security needs to be retrained in customer service. The chicken sandwich was yummy and crunchy and full of flavor. The fries were also great! Would NOT recommend the sliders. Every bite was like eating jarfuls of salt. Chicken tenders were super dry and so were the mac and cheese bites. The only thing that was decent were the wings. This is definitely not your typical bowling alley! My friend and I decided to get a lane for an hour here last night. It is definitely pricier than an normal bowling alley, but it is spotlessly clean and has a lounge feel to it. It feels very modern. We spent $90 for the lane and shoe rentals. Our lane had some issues with buffering, but they made sure to give us extra time, which was nice. They have a full bar and food menu as well. We had moscow mules to drink, which were awesome! To eat, we shared a bunch of different appetizers. We had the chicken fingers, fries, mac and cheese bites, and mushroom flatbread. Our favorite was the mac and cheese bites. They had a cheese and marinara sauce on top with some grated parmesan cheese. It was the perfect amount of sauce and I liked that it was pre-assembled for you. The chicken fingers and fries were also great! The chicken was super fresh and hot. Unfortunately, the flatbread was super disappointing. It had wayyyy too many mushrooms on it and was flavorless. Amazing! Came here for a double date and had such a wonderful time. From the music to the drinks, and obviously the bowling area, it was a recipe for a great evening. We indulged in drinks at the bar while waiting for our lane to be available and we were greeted by the kindest and most charming bartender Wilson. Our office had a company outing today and I came here with about 30 colleagues. We definitely had a fun time. We did bowling of 2 hours and karaoke of 2 hours. Our package also included food and we had guacamole & tortillas chips, sliders, chicken tenders, pizza, fries, and beverages (e.g water and soda). The food was surprisingly good even though it wasn't healthy to eat. LOL! The cost also included bowling shoes to rent as well. Our karaoke room was very spacious and it could fit 100 people for the room we had. There was one big screen and one another small screen. The sound quality was good. There were good song selections from old classic songs to the current hit songs. Overall, the staff was friendly and they helped clean up the leftover plates and cups quiet often. DO NOT RECOMMEND DONT LEAVE UR JACKET WITH THEM. My rating is -400$ because how you have mandatory cost check and loose a 400$ north face they allowed people in the property who did not belong had to call the police to escort them out and allowed them to steal other people coats, not only that the security told us this wasn't the first time. They did not give us money for the coat nor did they notify us when the coat was missing we waited an hour for them to tell us it was not located had to wait another 45 mins for the cops to come. We filed a report and will be waiting on reimbursement from this property if not will proceed to file a lawsuit. read more
