I was here for an event called Gouyad Bowl last month. The entire venue was rented out by the promoter for a full blown bowling party. There's so many lanes available for bowling and an entire area for the DJ booth & dancing floor. For food, our lane ordered wings, mozzarella sticks, curly fries, chicken tenders and chicken quesdillas. The food was hot and was overall decent. I wish I could have tried some of the drinks also but next time. The football game was on during the event too which was perfect. Although this bowling alley is about 45 minutes away from Brooklyn, it's worth the distance. I had a good time here overall. read more

While in long Island we decided to go bowling at woodmere lanes and we had fun bowling 3 games even with a bunch of screaming kids having fun as well in the birthday party area . Nice bright bowling joint with plenty of lanes and easy scoring set up so I was able to put on a show and hit them pins. We grabbed some food at the snack bar and the menu is extensive with plenty of different picks which usually ends up with a pretzel and large diet coke .They have a bunch of special deals which can save you a few bucks as the prices of bowling games has gone up considerably the last 10 years . My organization hosted a bowling fundraising event here recently and it was a great spot . We bowled from 1-4pm and they have a bar in the back and we had a day party from 4-8pm . Chill vibe and good food . Shared quesadillas , fried and wings with friends . Nice size portions . Not sure if it was out DJ or the house DJ but the music was ! Lanes populated with names upon entry. Party atmosphere in separate back area that also has separate entrance and is called Backstage . Street Parking available . It's our second year having the event and it was a great success . Online reservations were a smooth transaction. Got a lane for a group of 6 kids ages 4-8. They have a few options and I picked the one that came with a pizza pie and pitcher of soda. It was $82 total. Great value. That included the lane for 2 hours (I picked 5pm-7pm in a Saturday), and that includes the shoes for all six kids. Once you arrive, you fill out the names on a sheet of paper that they give you at check-in and check off with an X if a player will need the bumpers up. When you arrive at the lane the names are already populated onto the screen for you. The entire staff wears gloves, there are hand sanitizer options everywhere and the lanes are partitioned off with clear plexiglass carts. We felt VERY SAFE here, at all times. The pizza pie for the kids is small, but all 6 kids got to eat 1 slice and some went for seconds. Still worth it and the kitchen is open, serving solid diner-like food. We ordered fried mozzarella sticks and fried chicken wings. Both were better than expected. I forgot to mention that after you get your bowling shoes, you have to wear gloves when finding a bowling ball to use for the evening. Love that. These guys are setting a good standard for bowling nights. Highly recommended if you have kids and nothing to do on a cold Saturday or Sunday. 6 kids allowed to a lane. Sooo much fun!!! So, I hosted a bowling event for one of my ministries from my church for about 24ppl, but only 18 bowled on August 12th. 1. It was super easy and a pleasure working with Nick. We spoke once and both loved the idea of texting, going forward (gotta love tech)! He was very responsive, like his phone was glued to his hands, most of the time. Lol. Nick was very patient with me, as I tried to narrow down the menu options, so that my guests didnt have to pay to much, and we came up with more than enough food to satisfy everybody. 2. It is easy getting to Woodmere, there's plenty of free street parking after 7pm and a free large municipal parking lot across the street. 3. Once inside, it is well lit, clean, they have new shoes (compared to when I was there in March), hand sanitizer on every counter, colorful balls organized in their own size stations, the women's restroom was bright and clean. I chose the lanes on the far left side, close to another entry, as well. Cute high ball tables and stools that seat 4, but there's plenty of standing room, so that you're not really cramped. Nice, dim glow in the dark atmosphere around the lanes. Nick's team had 4 high ball tables covered for us to stand and eat, and our delicious food was in the center with soda and tea pitchers (on your own for alcoholic bevs). Connie and her food service team were on point in making sure that we had all that we needed and paid for. The guy at the front where you get your shoes and pay (sorry I forgot his name) was so pleasant to work with and on his game! In addition to taking care of others who were there, I was really impressed when he noticed that one of our more seasoned in age bowlers, never knocked down any pins for a few frames, he came to me as suggested guard rails. YES, let's do that. But what got me, and why I say he was on his game is bc, he knew when it was her turn, so he automatically had the rails up and down every single time, without anyone having to remind him. We loved that! We all had a BLAST and I gave out bowling door prizes at the end. THANK YOU Nick and team for a great experience! 4. i went on a busy Saturday night with 3 grandchildren and wr had a great time. the one-fee-for-all was great, including shoe rental. Everything was very clean and the staff was SO helpful. They started an SMS program where they send coupons and other marketing gimmicks. My family and I have been loyal customers there for over 30 years. Today my wife and kids were there when they blasted out an SMS with an offer for $20 for two hours of lane time and $2.50 discount on shoes. When she went to use offer they were rude and said it was a mistake and they are now rescinding offer, and they did so by SMS a few minutes later. They would not have even know that they made that mistake, and very well would have been bombarded with more upset customers if my wife hadn't been there when offer went out. Any good business person would have honored the offer for her due to the fact that it hadn't been rescinded yet. I also believe that's a NYS law. My wife was also made to wait over 20 minutes to speak to the manager. All in all, honoring the offer would have set them back maybe $10 or so. Now they've lost long time customers of their bowling alley, bar and concession. If manager is reading this....I'm the guy that comes in weekly for take out of wings by the way. Congratulations, you've handled loyal customers like completely inept business people. You even posted the wrong offer twice before recanting. Obviously you need to train your employees or yourself how to use the SMS system before you piss off and lose more customers!!!! read more

I'll be quite honest, my kids and I stopped in on April 27th during spring break based on the reviews, we did not actually bowl here. There was a competition going on, so the lanes were not open to outside bowlers. It would have been my kids first time bowling. I'm kind of glad there wasnt lanes available. The venue itself is quite outdated contrary to a review I read and the photos, food counter didnt look appetizing. We would've stayed to be onlookers to the tournament but it was way too small and overcrowded. I would not return on regular business day as it is just not somewhere I would recommend as trendy or modern. read more

This place also has a seperate entrance into a bar, which I think is also a grill...I came here for a baby shower and they brought in their own food. I guess this review would be for the atmosphere/workers. This place is very spacious and the bar is big too...the bar is in the middle of the room and it's round so seating is all around the bar, unlike some place where the bar is just by the wall. There is also a few pool tables around, an air hockey table and also darts. I guess this place is very popular for parties because we had to leave by a certain time because there was another party right after ours... Took my daughter for a birthday party here over the weekend. We were really worried since we took our other daughter to a party at the RVC bowling alley a couple of weeks prior and that was a disaster. This party was awesome and well organized. The pizza was out and ready to eat on plates when we arrived, the bumper bowling was fun as was the cool people that help run the party. the announcements were good too. We had our daughters 8th birthday party here yesterday. We had a DJ dance party for 2 hours. The event went perfectly, DJ was great, the decorations were awesome. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The kids really had a great time. We dealt with Valery and she really was sure to see that every detail was perfect. I could tell she did not treat our event as an annoyance, she really made it a special day for my daughter. Communicating with Valery was a breeze. I would highly recommend this facility for any party, and while we didn't bowl, I bet that is great too since the same people work there as well. read more

Excellent! I had my daughter's first birthday party at Woodmere Lanes and Backstage. I was extremely impressed with Valery and the staff. They went over and beyond and exceeded all of my expectations and more. Valery was wonderful to work with. My family and friends are still talking about my daughter's party which was back in January. Five stars! I came here with a small group for my father's birthday. The price of the lanes was perfect for our limited budget. We were able to treat all of our guests without breaking the bank. Nick was really helpful with answering all of my questions before we arrived. The bowling alley was modern and clean. We ate a ton of food. The wings and tenders were fabulous. The only con was the size of the pizzas. They were too expensive for personal pies. We enjoyed all of the different types of music that played- a little something for everyone. The absolutely worst bowling alley I have ever been to. There isn't anything good about it. The people who work there are impolite. The shoes are in poor shape. The bowling balls are in equally bad shape. Despite the fact that there were many open lanes, they crammed all the bowlers into consecutive lanes. They leave all the bowling balls from everyone before you, so it is your job to clean up. They walk in front of you when you are bowling if they need to get to another lane. After spending money on two games with shoes, they refused to give my young daughter a cup of water. Since they serve alcohol in the alley I believe that is against the law. I will never go there again and I encourage everyone to deny them the income until they go out of business. read more

I have been going here since i was a teenager. I am 33 now and have been a bowler there for years. They have always had great leagues, and a great atmosphere to bowl in. On top of that, they are always upgrading to stay with the best technology there is. I have visited many other bowling alleys and it seems like a lot of them are stuck in the 1980s. Not woodmere lanes. They have your typical bowling alley food to have while you are waiting. Great Chicken fingers, great burgers. And on top of that, if you are into sports, they are too. They have a sports bar attached and you can walk right in where there are plenty of flat screens all over the place for you to enjoy the game that is on. I go to Woodmere Lanes quite often. It is one of the best places to hang out in this area. Even if you don't like bowling, you are able to have fun when you come here. The music is always playing and it's a party. If you want alcoholic beverages, then you can go to the bar in the back or have drinks brought to your lane. They have a snack bar where you can buy wings, fries, hot dogs and many other items. The staff is the best. They're very friendly and helpful. If you have a problem with your lane, they try to accommodate you if possible. They're excellent at making your experience as awesome as possible. It's family friendly and always have specials to make bowling more affordable. There are only 20 lanes, but that adds to the cozy, family feeling that makes Woodmere special. If you're in the area, you must stop by Woodmere Lanes. There is no place better. read more

Went here last night for an impromptu hangout night. Pretty ordinary bowling alley. The bar area was pretty cozy... the bartender Arthur even made me he his "specialty" drink that wasn't on the menu and it was GREAT! Since my original review, my middle son had TWO of his birthday parties at Woodmere Lanes. Both last year and last weekend, the parties were a hit. Valery is a true pro at parties. Everything is well-organized, and the helpers are effective, efficient, and very nice. The facility was recently updated and looks great. Some parents at the party commented on how clean the bowling alley was. I agree, it is very clean for a bowling alley and very well maintained.
