I've been to this location two times already and I feel both times it was somewhat disappointing. The neighborhood in which this place is located feels sketchy and the people that I've seen in here kind of fit that caliber. Anyways, the biggest turn off is the fact that they only accept cash (if you're with a family, you can easily spend more than 100 bucks. So who in the world carries this much cash??!). They have an ATM machine for your 'convenience.' The second time we came here, the ATM machine didn't have enough cash in the machine and we had to go outside and retrieve it elsewhere. As for the bowling experience, it's ok. They have these modern TVs that do some goofy animations with your faces, which is funny and entertaining. I remember the first time we came here with my parents (who were bowling for the first time), we requested for a bumpers just to give my folks a better chance to score. The guy (owner?) was giving us a hard time about it and gave us faces. Ok sure, we understand it's for kids, but what's so wrong if it's for a first time bowler???! How hard would it be to put up a bumper anyway?! I found his reaction quite offensive. He eventually allowed the bumper to be on for only my sister's turn (since she was a minor in the group). I've been to other bowling places and never had a problem. The food, while still expensive, taste pretty good. I remember the fries tasting fresh and warm. They allow 6 people in one section The bar is closed off however it is still open someone has to come to your table to serve you. Went bowling on a friday night there prices are very affordable after 5pm it's only $5.00 a game, $3.00 shoe rental they only accept cash, they have a parking lot plenty of parking spaces. It's clean, they have a bar and you can purchase food/snacks (No outside food or drinks allowed). Friday and saturday nights they have music and disco lights. Dani's has been around since I was in High School and clearly is here to stay. If you're looking for upscale lanes, you can try manhattan for Bowlmor and such. Dani ' s is good old fashioned bowling at an affordable buck. For a max of $10 you can play once and rent shoes. The alley is clean and snacks are pocket friendly. I believe the owner "Dani" is a woman and very nice to patrons. I hosted a bowling party back in college and we had a literal BALL! !!! The snack bar serves basic treats such as Nachos, Sodas, Alcohol, Fries and hot dogs. When your energy is low, head on over! Priced are reasonable. I had to go get our food and after I almost died from dehydration and asked for a refund for 3 freezer burnt empanadas he rudely told me to go back to my lane, after waiting for the refund for almost 20 mins I went back and he had it on the counter and had his headphones in. I understand struggling to maintain a business during Covid but this is not a family friendly alley. Unless you want your children eat over priced frozen food take them elsewhere. Decided to go bowling with a friend on a Monday evening. Chose Dani's because it is local. Tried calling 4 or 5x beforehand to make sure there were lanes available but could not get anyone to answer. Upon arrival my friend and I waited at the empty front desk which we were told by a customer the employee working the front desk was outside smoking a cigarette. When the gentleman returned (a man with long grey hair in a ponytail), I asked if any lanes were available. Without saying a single word, he looked down shaking his head "no". I was told by one of the customers that it was league night. This is the main reason I tried calling numerous times beforehand, but I guess "Ponytail" was too busy on his smoke breaks to answer the phone and do his job. Came in with my mom and her brother (my uncle, visiting from Trinidad). At first it seemed to be pretty empty and no one was at the counter but after a while, a gentleman came over to help us. He was funny, polite and probably the best part of the place. It almost seemed a little run down upon entrance but the music choice was specifically catered to my uncle and my family which was sooo nice. One of the only other issues is that the computer system at the bar actually gave a lot of problems with the finger reader. Thus, the alcohol couldn't be dispensed. The bolwing allet itself is nice. It's hard to know who goes with the current software they are using. Today was my first day there and will be my last. I arrived there with 2 other people at 12:05pm. As we were paying another group came in. It was chilly in there and the lanes bor the monitors were in. Basically he opened the doors and began to work at 12 when the place opened. smh. We were put in lane 2. When my30 yr old guest asked to be put on a a double lane and not near the wall the guy said "your too damn particular". When he came back and told me I was so annoyed. This is how you talk to you're paying customers? When we began bowling I noticed the score didn't register so this time I went tothe desk. I waited until he decided to ask me what I needed. I explained that the scoreboard wasn't changing. He said " I guess it's going to be one of those days just go to lane 5". I just walked away. We began bowling again. This time I bowled a 9 and it gave me a strike. I asked him if he could fix it. He told me he couldnt put up the 1 pin. (how is this possible?) He put in a spare smh. Obviously he doesnt know how to use their program. I asked him if he woke up on the wrong side of the bed because he appeared to be cranky. He was upset and said no but everyone came in at the same time. It was only 2 groups. I said if you open at 12 you should get there 30 mins to an hour b4 reset up not wait until it opens and they to do it. He clearly didn't agree. His bad attitude along with the lane and computer issues just ruined the mood of us bowling. He tried tobe nice after all that but the first impression is the one that last the longest. I've been to Dani's numerours times! Since County lane (or Country..whatever it was) shut down there really are no other local bowling spots to hit up. Everything is super far from me...except Dani's! So close and it's pretty much in the cut so it doesn't really get too crowded. It has a tiny arcade, plenty of lanes, and a food area. Decent people and I NEVER encounter any riff raff here. The workers are cool. The shoes are typical smelly bowling shoes and it isn't too expensive. Decently priced and definitely a good time. Sometimes theres music..sometimes there isn't. I think it depends on the night and the time and all that. If you're looking for a chill night of bowling this is def the spot to go to. read more

Been living in elmont about 4 months now, working here about 3 years and never knew this place existed. In the past I've been a regular bowler and it's been about 3 years since I last bowled. A friend invited me to Dani's last night, needless to say I still got it! I'll prove that in the pics that follow... For starters this alley is very lowkey and set back in a little plaza it's easy to miss which is cool to me. Walking in its straight to the point all you see is lanes, not a bunch though so you can imagine some nights are probably really packed and maybe not worth the wait. At any rate I approach the front desk speak to the guy to get the rundown, here's how it goes. $3.00 -games $2.00- shoes $3.00- beers $5.50-$11.00 hard drinks ALL CASH EVERYTHING! Seems like this is a regular price list so that's the best part about it. The worst part is damn near every TV had wrestling on when there were 3 NBA games on last night (Thursday) the visual priorities were all screwed up. Another drawback was the holes on the balls were a little too small for my fingers even on the 14 pound ball. When those are the biggest problems you know the place is dope. I'll be back every Thursday more than likely to get my game tight again. My homegirl probably won't, she had a terrible showing on the lanes, she talked so much smack too!! Said all that to say... The bowling balls are really old and missing a lot of numbers... In Moscow I remember I paid per hour and played as many games as I wanted. Here you have to pay per game and per person. Also they charge for the shoes. I am sorry maybe my standards are too high, but that's what I saw in MOSCOW(Russia) so I was hoping New York can do at least as good... This bowling alley is literally 3 minutes from my house in Cambria heights. Its a great spot for some affordable fun with friends and family and even a cute date. The food could use some improvement but you can bring in some Chinese food fr next door, they won't give you a hard time. Each game is about $5 dollars and the shoe rental is around $3-4 bucks! You can't beat that! The drinks are pretty cheap at around $4-8 dollars. Get the bottled wine. Again you can BYOB they are pretty laid back about outside foods and drinks even though they say not to. My coworkers threw me a farewell party here the other week to celebrate my transfer into a different department. There's plenty of space in the parking lot out front, and the prices per game and for shoe rentals are pretty cheap. (Note that they only accept cash.) If you don't mind a modest and dated environment, Dani's Strike Zone meets the bare minimum. Their bartender pours a stiff drink, though! My rum and cokes were at least 75% liquor. Food wasn't all that bad, either, but it's hard to mess up greasy junk food. Pro tip: Do yourself a favor and drive the extra few minutes to AMF Sheridan Lanes in Mineola instead. read more

I came here for my friends Christmas party. She works at this bowling alley and every year they have an annual holiday party I should say. I think it's so wonderful that the managers do this for their employees. They let the workers bring a guest or two as well (aka me), and we get to bowl for free. I've always had a great time here despite my passionate hate for bowling. Therr are many lanes, awesome lighting, and a consession stand with typical bowling alleging food. The place is big. They have an arcade room with a couple of pinball machines and about 3 or 4 vintage games but it's also very hot in there. They have food your typical stuff like burgers, chicken, pizza, French fries, pricing is reasonable. The food was actually pretty good and I didn't expect it to be so that's a plus. They also have a full bar. The only thing I didn't like is that we had to keep hunting someone down to order food and drinks and at one point we waited over 30 minutes before the guy came back. I just think when an establishment has customers there should be workers manning the food and beverage counters. They also have another room that has pool tables, air hockey, and table hockey. I had my son's birthday party there. The hostess was taking care of two parties at the same time. I had to keep looking for her to get help for everything. When she wasn't helping with other party she was working the counter and helping out regular customers. This was aggravating because my party was timed and I had to keep taking time out of my party to get help/service. The fact that you are not allowed to bring in food from outside the food should at least be decent. That's a lie the pizza they served to kids was half burnt and the hot dogs looked under cooked. It was nice and clean here with a fun vibe. That being said, it didn't have a large selection of bowling balls. We had a hard time finding a ball under 10 pounds and any 8 pounders had super small holes. Another issue was that at one point in the game all of the balls we threw got stuck behind the lane. We'd seen another persons ball get stuck in the gutter and they had to wait 10 minutes for help. It's been 10 minutes for us waiting so far and still no luck. Absolutely love this place and love how low key and type of crowd. Not too crazy and not too boring. It's just cool and chill. It's divey but a whole lot of fun. Staff are wonderful and attentive. Facilities are well cleaned and food is okay. In addition to all of this I was able to find a bowling bowl that my fingers can fit into. I'm a school bus driver that picks up special needs children at Martin Deporres school across the street. I was very excited to discover this bowling alley and it's great early afternoon prices. I was hoping to come regularly a few times a week to brush up on my skills. Unfortunately when I entered, right away the African American gentleman behind the counter gave me the dirtiest looks. I told him I want to play 2 games and need shoes. I told him my shoe size and he responded in a smart mouth remark saying "you said you have shoes then gives me eye rolls". I didn't even get to play a full 2 games. I had trouble working the computer to start the game and when I asked him for help he responded with no interest "YOU DIDN'T HIT START." There is no clear start button and just needed less than 30 seconds of attention and everything would've been fine. I'd like to feel I can go back into this alley and feel that I'll be assisted for something that isn't that difficult to solve. read more
