They must be totally crazy at Threes to charge $12 for a can of OtherHalf. I will never even think about buying a Threes brew ever again.

Three stars for Threes Brewing. Ordinary beer at an unjustified price, with neat design in a convenient location.

Don't be fooled, this is not a brewery...just a grab & go location in the train station!

However, recently I came in and this isn't normal service and I hope it changes. Maybe I met a fluke new bartender that knows nothing about pouring a proper pint. But I bought a specialty can for myself and a pint for my boyfriend. Initially, I asked if they had any red ales or ambers, brown ales and he said we have a lot of nice stouts and porters. My boyfriend is definitely not into dark beers (i wish) but any moron would know an Amber or red ale anything what I mentioned isn't pitch black and sweet as syrup. So I looked at beers on tap for him. He poured me a Czech beer and the foam head was 4 inches at least thick. I was told it's an "experience". And when my boyfriend was also considerably upset he said "it's an experience". I paid $9-11 for an experience of missing half his drink in a smaller sized pour of a normal 14-16 oz mug. He gave back the drink because he was so unhappy with it and he did nothing to remedy the situation. I get you let drinks settle but that's not how your pour a pint at least not in the USA. He asked if it could be filled the remained and he said absolutely not. lol. Ridiculous. Hoping things get better here because I love craft beer spots and they are a dime a dozen but not when they shaft you. Also please bring back the jammy peanut butter sour.

Tables are first come, first served but you can call in advance to reserve if you're coming with a group and want to guarantee a seat. Most of the seating is high top bar stools, with a few regular tables. They have a nice selection of beers. My sister tried a raspberry cheesecake sour and enjoyed it. To eat, I had the vegan super dank dog. I was very excited about the plant-based option. The kim chi topping was delicious. It was flavorful and not overly pickled. The vegan sausage was a bit rubbery and artificial tasting. My sister got the enchie tots and felt the tater tots were too mushy. Trivia was very efficient. It was organized through the NYC Trivia League, but you can play even if you're not a member. There were six rounds, including a picture identification round and music round. The host was very no-nonsense and kept things moving in between rounds, which was great. It started at 7 and ended at 8:30. The bar tender was nice and attentive.

Primary problem is the guy who works there most often--possibly the manager and an overall nice guy--covertly hits the 20% tip once you've tapped your card and pretends the bill is closed without a tip option. This has happened to me at least 4 times. A bit shady.

Apparently the humans needed an after-work drink…read more I needed an after-work pup cup. Sixpoint Brewery understood the assignment. We stopped by the FiDi location after work and found a HUGE outdoor patio tucked away from the street. There are big hedges and lots of greenery surrounding the space, so somehow you can sit in the middle of Lower Manhattan without feeling like you're surrounded by skyscrapers. Very relaxing. Very civilized. But let's discuss the service. Almost immediately after I arrived, someone brought me my own water bowl. Excellent start. And THEN... A complimentary pup cup appeared. For me. No ordering. No begging. No reviewing the menu while wondering why there wasn't a dog section. They simply recognized the most important customer at the table and acted accordingly. Five paws already. Mom had the apple cider, Dad had the Crisp pilsner, and they shared a giant soft pretzel. I conducted a thorough visual inspection of the pretzel but was apparently expected to be satisfied with my pup cup. Negotiations remain ongoing. The staff was incredibly sweet and attentive. Several people stopped by during our visit specifically to say hello to me, which is exactly the level of hospitality I expect. The whole patio has a relaxed beer-garden feel and is especially good for an after-work hang. Plenty of space, greenery, string lights and enough separation from the street that I could relax instead of supervising every person walking past. Dogba's verdict: Water bowl without asking? Complimentary pup cup? IMMEDIATELY. Huge outdoor patio? Separated from the street? Staff came over just to admire me? Repeatedly. Share of the pretzel? We need to discuss this. 5 paws out of 5. Come for the beer. Stay because your dog has discovered a place where he is finally treated with the respect his position demands.

They brought a replacement -- and charged me for both. Flies were also crawling on the plates, landing in the food and the ketchup, and hovering over everything. Totally disgusting. What bothered me most was the staff's reaction: complete indifference, as if a swarm of fruit flies around food and drinks is just how things are here. It isn't. Fruit flies in a food establishment are a critical violation under the NYC health code, and I'm reporting what I saw to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. We paid and left as fast as we could -- in hindsight I should have asked for a refund rather than a second beer I was charged for. I'd skip this one until they get the sanitation under control.

Torch & Crown Brewing Company is marked very subtle projecting sign. When you cross the threshold you are transported to an elevated space with a brick-clad back bar, warm moods, neon undertones, and pops of greenery. It was really inviting. SERVICE: I have to say the servers here really made my visit. They were super friendly and personable. I sat at the bar and they made sure my glass wasn't empty and made great conversation during my visit. SIPS: I love a crushable sour. So after browsing the menu, I knew that I had to give the Blueberry Pancake a whirl. Yum! It was bright, a little sweet, a little sour, and just what I needed. Next up I decided to sip on the Bat Flip, because with a name like "Bat Flip" I just have to know what it's all about. It was refreshing and bright! For those seeking a reprieve from the beer menu, Torch & Crown Brewing Company also offers up a full bar! SUSTENANCE: While I had already eaten before my visit, I took a moment to browse the food menu. Whoa! So many delicious options to sink your teeth into. Torch & Crown Brewing Company was a great way to both wrap up and wind down after my whirl wind day in the Big Apple.

I just returned from Paris, which has phenomenal food, but craved a burger which is what I found here. I ordered the YE OLE PUB BURGER, which has Tillamook cheddar, arugula, pickles, bacon jam, and secret sauce on a pretzel bun. The burger was super delicious. The secret sauce and bacon jam provided insane flavors. The burger was very tender. The pretzel bun is not what I would call a pretzel bun, as it was pretty much a normal bun. The burgers come default with HOUSE MADE CHIPS, or you can upgrade to fries. I chose the chips because house made chips are a nice treat, and indeed these were. Super crispy, thick chips recognizably cut from a potato. I had to drink their own house brewed beer, their flagship Blueberry Ale. This was great! Most blueberry beers taste syrupy or like artificial flavoring. They brew this beer with tons of blueberries. It leaves your mouth coated, making you think you enjoyed some fresh blueberries...it really preserves the natural blueberry. Every table in the place was dirty and it was not busy (which should have been a warning signal. When our server walked up and mumbled at us he pointed at water which they had sitting on all the tables and said "you know I'm gonna charge you for that". He dropped two menus and we did not see him again except to take our order. When the food came it looked and tasted like it was microwaved gas station food. My burger bun was so tough I could barely cut it in half. All of the above pleasures cost an arm and a leg on top of being bad food with a poor experience. TL:DR - keep walking to the next stop. There is nothing here worth your money.
