What weekend brunch without bottomless mimosas, am I right? Barbrix serves some good food in a cute Silver Lake spot. But, let's be real, we all know you're really here for the $8 bottomless mimosas. That's right, as long as you order an entree, your glass will be flowing with some orange bubbly all brunch long! Good brunch choices include the chicken sandwich, the pancakes, the mushroom scramble, and the fried egg sandwich. Underwhelming dishes that I personally would not order again are the crispy rice bowl and the carnitas hash. Thier salad's okay, but I do love their shoestring fries. While the food is a little pricey for the portion, they know that you're mostly just ordering food for the $8 bottomless mimosa deal anyway, so I guess the price balances out. Compared to other bottomless brunches around the east side of LA, Barbrix is probably one of the best choices. See you there next weekend! read more

Overall food/wine was great but service was a little bit slow. We were one of the only parties seated in their outdoor patio area, and felt like the servers may have forgotten we were there. Had to get up to flag them down when we needed some stuff. There are two out door areas, one in the patio (where we were which is very nice aesthetically) and then the other pop up tent in the parking lot. The indoor is a little small. They were also trying to sell their wine bottles from the shop to us with a $10 corkage fee, but we ended up just getting some glasses. Overall, food was great. Had a few off menu Vegan options that was very nice and accommodating. read more

Do I want to wait for a table at my favorite, pre-game-wine-shop? No. Does Barbrix deserve a fantastic review that persuades more patrons to crowd into the quaint Silverlake wine bar? Yes. Barbrix wins. The food at Dodger Stadium has vastly improved since last year, but we found Barbrix when it was hard to get a good bite at the game, and now we are hooked. Barbrix is a wine shop and a restaurant. The wines are mostly from Europe and not ones you see in other shi-shi Silverlake restaurants. They are much less expensive and surprisingly, really good. We get there at 5, so my husband can peruse the latest additions and select a pairing for our meal. We have had Spanish, Italian and Austrian wines for a fraction of the cost of California wines that have paled in comparison. The food is not only better than stadium food, it's prepared with attention to detail and delicious. The Chicken Milanese is extra crispy and the goldilocks-esque, pizza crust is neither crunchy nor chewy. We have tried most of the menu and are always satisfied, if not delighted. Wednesday is pasta night, $20 for a salad, pasta and dessert and on Fridays they serve oysters for a dollar per slurp. The only thing about going to Barbrix for a pre-game dinner is once I'm relaxed and sated, I don't want to leave. We live over an hour's drive away, but one of these days, I'm going to go without game tickets and taste at the bar. Go Dodgers! read more

Such a great find. One of the bests dinners in awhile. So many great items on the menu to choose from. Amazing wine selection in their wine store. All wines appeared to be reasonably priced. They do charge a $10 corkage. Great service. Try the Bronzino - one of the best I've had. Cant wait to go back. read more

It's closed! And I found out when I took my sister for her birthday. We were very disappointed.

Provender: this is an excellent spot for a date or to eat a great Italian meal. I ordered the rigatoni and it was made to perfection. The meat sauce was excellent and the rigatoni was cooked well. I also ordered the saffron arancini as an appetizer and it was appetizing. Prices: reasonable. Most entrees will run you about $20 and most glasses of wine will cost you around $15. Parking: due to covid, they converted their parking lot into outdoor seating, so you'll have to find street parking. There are metered spaces (that you have to pay until 8pm) on both Hyperion and the small adjacent street, Tracy. People: leave the kiddos at home if you're going to eat dinner. Perks: the ambiance during covid was nice. They provide you with a QR code to look at their menu, so it's best to have an app that can scan it. Or you can visit their website. The staff were extremely friendly. They also have heat lamps to beat the cold. read more

You come here for the bottomless mimosas and the food is really an afterthought until you realize you really need food to soak up the mimosas. All the entrees are $16 and up. I opted for an $18 burger since they were out of the fried chicken sandwich. The food is not worth what it's priced at but they have to make up for the $8 bottomless mimosas. The servers are pretty good at refilling which was appreciated. Reservations are a must. Plenty of parking in the surrounding neighborhood but definitely Uber if you're partaking in the day drinking. read more

My favorite spot in the area for great food and a nice bottle of wine. The bacon wrapped dates and the butternut squash agnolotti are two real standouts from the menu, but I've enjoyed every dish I've ever ordered here. I especially love how knowledgeable the servers are about the wine -- we typically give loose parameters (ie - looking for a dry Italian red for about $40), and they always know just the bottle to bring us. read more

Saturday night we decided to go to Barbrix. We started with 10 inch pepperoni pizza and muscle and octopus... all three appetizers were excellent then I order their cheeseburger which is the best . Cute lil place with a lovely parking lot patio and delicious food and wine! We went on a double date here and everyone loved the food, we finished everything! I split the Caesar salad and Bucatini cacio e Pepe pasta with my bf. Our friends got meatballs, Brussels and spaghetti & clams.. everything was super fresh and delicious . Plenty of food for splitting meal! We shared a bottle of red and it was delicious. They have an amazing patio with lights and heaters , doesn't even feel like a Parking lot;) Our server was very nice and made our dining experience a great one! PARKING: There is metered parking on the streets or valet in the parking lot. Meter's are always free on Sunday's. It's possible to also find free street parking around the neighborhood if you're willing to take a little walk. SERVICE: Unlimited mimosas $8 w/ purchase of $14+ entree. We were in the corner patio outside and mimosas were not filled as regularly as we would have liked, with a party of 8. Waitress would refill the first few tables in front of us and then go back because the pitcher was empty and did not come back out. I literally had to flag down the waitresses to refill my glass. $8 is a great price for bottomless mimosas though. You only have the regular plain orange and champagne combo. They didn't have a selection of flavors, but it's a good price! FOOD: Food is okay. I have tried their buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, smoked salmon benedict, and avocado toast. I really wanted to try the crispy rice bowl $18, but they ran out of it. Buttermilk Fried Chicken sandwich $17 - chicken was nicely fried and not dry, the entree was large, or seemed large because I could not finish it. It was a nicely made fried chicken sandwich, but nothing too special or amazing. It didn't stand out or burst with flavor compared friend chicken sandwiches i've had. Smoked Salmon Benedict $19.50 - was decent as well, but the same thing, it wasn't amazing, no burst of flavor that made me want to keep coming back for more. Avocado toast $12 - wasn't bad, but that's pricey for the amount of food you get, one toast. My friend wasn't satisfied. Cheap bottomless mimosas and large portions. Although, I would recommend requesting a seat inside next time to avoid the fly's and not have to worry about being seen by the waiters for refills. There are better bottomless mimosa brunch places. read more

We came to this restaurant during the week for a nice dinner with my sister and her boyfriend. Plenty of street parking at the time, around 6:30, and the place wasn't too crowded at all. Super cute outdoor patio & the inside (when we went in to use the restroom was cute as well). We ordered the mozzarella, calamari & the dates & bacon to start. The mozzarella & prosciutto were amazing, just wish it came with more than one big ass slice of bread- legit kind of a pain in the ass to cute so everyone's fingers end up all in the bread to break off a slice. So maybe it's meant for one person? lol the dates stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped in bacon were pretty delicious- would definitely recommend! I didn't try the calamari but the table said it was good. For the entree, we the parm which was pretty good. As well as a pizza, also tasty. Drinks were good as well. Would recommend as a nice little date spot! read more

Barbrix - Outdoor seating - Wine Bars Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Came here at 5pm on a Sunday. Sat at a table in their pop up outdoor dining in the parking lot. Plenty of heaters if it got cold. Service was very great. They were very attentive. I got two glasses of the Sauvignon Blanc. It was a little sweet, but nice and refreshing for a hot day. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe. I loved it was made with bucatini. Unfortunately the noodles had a lingering soapy water type taste. Possibly unfiltered or dirty water when rinsing noodles. The flavor was good but the cheese wasn't melted all of the way either so it was clumpy. Lastly, they set up a hedge to make it more intimate, yet that brought about a lot of mosquitos. I would recommend citronella of some sort to help with that problem. Overall though I would definitely go back, just order something different. read more

Came for dinner on a friends suggestion and had a lovely evening. When I arrived I was greeted by these very nice gentlemen. Not your ordinary stuffy host. Instead they were very casual and yet polite. I immediately felt very comfortable. We asked for a wine suggestion and we enjoyed our "blend". The wine prices are out of this world. Totally affordable and enjoyable. My friend and I split the Arancini (a must try!), the house salad (yummy), Bucatini Cacio e Pepe and the eggplant Parmesan. Delicious!! We finished it with the Butterscotch Budino, which was light and creamy. Service was outstanding and the concierge (?) maybe the manager (?) Always made sure to check on us and took care of us. And of course we picked a perfect weather night to sit outdoors. Oh by the way there is plenty of space between tables. Not stuffy or overcrowded. I can't wait to come back! read more

Food and wine is very good. Service is decent as well. One weird service thing is that after we finished our tap water carafe we were never brought a replenished carafe. This was particularly strange because we were brought separate silverware for our main. Service was also extremely slow. Not sure if this was a covid adjustment but it look legitimately like a 30 minutes for our appetizer. (4/5) octopus. octopus over fennel and blood orange salad. Octopus had a wonderful charred taste and the Serrano peppers added a wonderful spicy note. I also love fennel which is always refreshing. Octopus was slightly fishy smelling. (4/5) silver lake salad. Lettuce tossed with cherry tomatoes and a wonderful anchovy dressing. Loved the anchovy dressing but this needed actual anchovies to make it a 5 (5/5). Branzino. Absolutely delicious. Wonderful charred flavor. Salsa verde was wonderfully tangy. Fish was cooked perfectly, and it was nice that was filleted so eating it was very easy. Overall 4/5 because food and drinks were great but service was slow. Also Andie MacDowell (Groudbhog Day) childhood crush, was at the table near us so points for that. If it's good enough for andie it's food enough for me. read more

A usual favorite for us years ago, and still delicious, but just a huge letdown with a charcuterie board. A bit embarrassing with the size of the meat, cheese, mustard and jam, portion all around. Everything seems to be lacking. This is a $10 wheel of cheese, and they provided a 10th portion of it, for the price of $11.... Good but VERY embarrassing from Barbrix with new stingy portions. read more

It's so fun here! I came with my team to celebrate the holidays and we had so many appetizers and $1 oysters for happy hour along with wine pairing and it was a great venue. They even designated a hostess to make surer our orders were taken care of. It's tapas style so the portion were good size to have a try of everything which I enjoyed. The atmosphere was really chill in Los Feliz and fun. I'd go back to try other dishes. Lolll legit the smallest portions for the price. I came here for a birthday brunch and thought most of the dishes were tiny, a sentiment felt by many others in my party. These dishes include: + Skirt Steak with eggs + Eggs your way + Carnitas hash Legit these plates were mostly side salad to make them look full. The ones that seem more worth it would be the burger, breakfast sandwich, and crispy rice bowl. The shoestring fries are also not great....they're so skinny and fried to a crisp(unless you like that!) The side salad dressing (which is suppose to be mustard) tasted like nothing and seemed to be more so an oily coating on the greens. Some pros: our server was very helpful, chill and dealt with our large party on bottomless mimosas with a good attitude. I def wouldn't be back here for brunch because it's just not worth! read more

Went for Sunday brunch around 11am and everything was perfect!! $8 bottomless mimosas with purchase of $14+ in food. Such a great deal considering our glasses never went dry! Wait staff carry around pitchers of mimosas like water and just keep the glasses full. 11am was the perfect time. Called ahead, but they wouldn't take a reservation. Arrived and saw that was bc all tables were already reserved. No biggie, spots at the bar were plenty and we only waited for a table for 10 min. The place got slammed around 11:30-12 and stayed that way until we left around 3ish. Service was great and the spot is super cute. Tucked off a ways from the road where you just may miss it if it wasn't for the valet sign. We took a Lyft ... parking looked to be a bit intense haha I had the crispy rice pork belly dish from the brunch menu (~ $18). SO MUCH FLAVOR!! Also spicy for those who love that - def recommend. Never had rice that way before and it was so delish. The person with me ordered the cream brûlée French toast and it looked bomb AF. Def is more of a bougie brunch vibe compared to many touristy spots on Hollywood Blvd. Food was ~$14-22ish and portions aren't huge. Very good food tho. Loved this place!! read more

Wine options are nice but this is the most absurdly small charcuterie board I've ever seen. This is Saint Andre cheese (the 10$ wheel at the grocery store) for $11 a TINY SLICE. NOT WORTH IT at all. Better a spot skipped - you can get better value and service elsewhere. read more

What a lovely little Silver Lake gem!!! Barbrix completely changed their outdoor parking lot into a cute little dining area. Plenty of heaters to go around and white tents help keep it warm and cozy. My partner and I stumbled onto it and happened to get a seat from the waitlist on a busy Saturday night. We got a glass of Nebbiolo and Barbera which complimented our delectable dining experience. Octopus was grilled perfectly, had just the right amount of crunchy grilled meat and the interior was melt in your mouth. The citrus and fennel brought out the flavors of the chargrilled seafood. Blue cheese bacon wrapped dates. They are bomb and you should try them, perfect little snack! The rigatoni bolognese was sheer perfection. It's such a hearty delicious Italian classic and it came out piping hot and was deeply satisfying. The duck was our least favorite of the bunch. The skin wasn't crispy like we hoped it would be and the yams just tasted a bit bland and seasonless. Would not get again. The tiramisu was delightful, again a great classic and they did it justice! Our server was very attentive and kind and gave us lots of recommendations. We will certainly be back!!! read more

Came on multiple occasions but never got around to writing this. My most recent visit was for a long overdue boozy brunch with my girls. Our main initiative: Bottomless mimosas. They poured very graciously to start off with but they definitely keep an eye on how long and how much you've had. As most restaurants are which is always good and sad because the times you need a breather they keep pouring.. And the times you're ready for another it becomes a feat waving someone over. As for food, Carnitas hash and the Morning After rice bowl. Both savory, both filling, and both (as the rest of the menu) pricy. They were very accommodating for my friend cautious of her allergies and time was decent enough that no one reached hangry times. Perhaps will try for a sweet dish next time around! Pro-tips: - Don't fret for parking, they do have valet but use it if you've at least gave an actual try for street parking. Street parking is available just have to have a strong eye for it and it's yours. - Come just a little past 11:00am to pass the major brunch rush. - Can't beat an $8 bottomless mimosa offer with a $14 and over entree! read more

This is a nice cozy establishment. I sat at the bar with a guest and was greeted by one of the most affable bartenders you can meet. Not only was he friendly and good natured, he recommended wines to us. My guest was a little snooty, so she went through like 6 bottles of wine to sample, and the bartender was just so helpful. It does get tight around the bar, especially if you order dinner. The mussels were great! Silverlake for decades has been a refuge for bohemians of all stripes...communists, socialists, "radical" Gays, leather scene, early punk rock, Hippies, etc. You name it, & at some time this was their home base. Barbrix has a certain organic, natural vibe that would do credit to the hippies and new agers of the early 1970's. If only they still had woven macramé plant hangers & playing music from Windham Hill. The place is deceptively bigger than I had thought from looking at it from Hyperion Blvd. Plenty of bar seating, tables, pleasant outdoor patio seating that is really quiet considering the boulevard is only a hundred feet away. Music is in the background, but it's a random selection that even included a Xmas song in July. Brix (breeks) was a German from about a hundred years ago who was able to determine the sucrose sugar content in grape juice to determine what the possible alcohol content would be after fermentation. Got the Down & Dirty 3 wine flight: a) Kadarka: Varietal from Hungary. Bouquet of faint brandied cherry & cough syrup. Flavours are sour cherry, dried black plum, earthy. Vaguely sweet modulated by bit of tannin & acidity. b) Cabernet Sauvignon Blend "Medaillon", Ouled Thaleb 2012 Morocco: Dark black w/ bouquet of lacquer, earth mold; tastes of brandied cherry, black plum, underlying dark chocolate. c) Saint Nicolas de Bourguell, Le Bois du Roy,. 2014: Bouquet touch of armpit, burnt caramel, green bell pepper, dark chocolate tasting of green bell pepper, white pepperiness, dark fruits. Tons of sediment. 1) Bucatini is like a thick round spaghetti pasta, chewy, thick, mouth fillingly rustico. Coated w/ a thick creamy oyster infused sauce. Inflected w/ what looked like a bright yellow orange thickened gelée that was an egg yolk cured in salt. Because of that, the egg yolk was extremely salty so I had to swirl the pasta to mix it in. 2) Jamon & Rabbit Croquettes are breaded in crispy Japanese Panko breadcrumbs. The filling is a thickened Béchamel sauce w/ little chunks of Jamon Iberico Spanish cured ham & sinewy, meaty pieces of rabbit. Nice execution which reminded me of Spanish croquetas in Torremolinos. Sampled Blistered Japanese Shishito- peppers sprinkled w/ Maldon sea salt which reminds me of an old Japanese Izakaya style tapa. Cauliflower was roasted & Spanish Romesco sauce mostly tomato was the accompanying sauce. "French fries" here are closer to the shoestring variety...crispy, brined, nice potato flavors....nice touch that accompanies the Moules Frites & hamburger. Service is professional w/ a touch of friendliness. Our waitress, Regan, knew her foods & wines well so she was able to inform me in depth which I appreciate. Food here is casual, informal. Execution is fine but not overwhelming in culinary proficiency. More close to 3+ Yelp stars. The patio & the summer night ambiance are what kicked the rating to 4- Yelp stars. read more

Clearly something big and bad happened last night. The staff didn't even try to hide the anxiety. I hope everyone is alright, but that doesn't excuse how much of a mess your restaurant was last night. We waited 40 minutes just to take an order. We then waited an hour for food that never. Before we walked out the host brought us our sparkling water, but the glasses had such a strong musty smell that we just gave up and left. It became clear that a number of other patrons had similar experiences. Bottom line? You should have closed the restaurant for the evening. Instead, you chose to try to salvage your evening at our expense. I obviously have no clue what was going on with your restaurant last night. And I'm sure it was a painful night for you and your staff. But to leave us hanging all that time is unacceptable. I doubt we'll be back. read more

Sorry this randomly double posted. Nothing more to add but love this place. They just reopened for take out and outdoor dining. I ordered pizza and their crispy brussel sprouts to go via phone. I went to Barbrix with a group of friends for boozy brunch. We were able to reserve a table on a Sunday morning. They sat us right away despite not having a complete party, and let me tell you, the service was amazing. The waitress was so kind and attentive despite this place being packed! She very quickly brought us the first round of mimosas and water while we were deciding what to eat. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5? They were out of legit 3/4 of their brunch items. I had to order my 3rd choice menu item. Now mind you, I ended up with the mushroom scramble and a side of fries and they were both delicious. The waitress handled this situation in such a way that we couldn't be angry. I'm assuming they ran out of items because it was a holiday weekend. I am such a fan of boozy brunch, especially when the food tastes good, because often I find the food to be lacking in such establishments. Such an awesome spot for brunch! If you're going with a big group - I suggest making a reservation. The phone call to make a reservation was pain free and we got seated right away when we arrived.
